strong storms moving through cape may county. anthony brown sent us this video of lightning on the beach. >> what's going on in south jersey right now? >> we do have some very strong storms. just about five minutes ago. the radar was trying to indicate some rotation. stone harbor that's right on your fdoorstep. it's crossing nine here. this one is continuing to move towards the shore. so the precip rate in this is about an inch and a half per hour. it's moving at a pretty good clip, though.

either way, this is a very strong storm. we had indications of hail in this. there's hail even offshore and more storms. stone harbor you can expect the center of this thing by 11:02. t%q will quickly move offshore. here's a look at some of the hail in the storm. that's radar indicated. around sea isle city we've seen an inch and a half. we're going to continue to see this cluster of storms moving through cape may county. that indicates some rotation within this storm. this is one storm moving through cape may county. we'll keep watching this through the next about ten minutes or so. then it is sliding mostly offshore at this point. if you're in that area you definitely want to stay indoors and away from windows. in delaware we have indications of potential hail here.

this is moving towards georgetown. and this area of storms will continue sliding through series sex county. now, asize from the storms on radar, we've also been dealing with the heat. we're talking about a heat wave that's been lasting since last tuesday. today, we got to 93 degrees. tomorrow, we'll be very close to the heat wave highs near 90. by 10:00 in the morning, temperatures right around 80 degrees. and yo>x notice lower humidity through theákwña)y afternoon. coming up we'll keep tracking those storms with you and another round of rain before the week's over. to this though an officer dragged by a car. it happened here in north philadelphia at 10:30 while the officer was trying to make an arrest. police say the suspect was later arrested. we're told the officer suffered

injuries to his hand. >> i remember2ñ? little boy's face and just the look on his -- i mean complete -- you never seen fear, just through the eyes? >> what happened to mark? for the first time we are hearing a witness account more than 20 years after a boy disappeared. >> tonight's story is an nbc10 exclusive. you're about to hear the words of a man who says he saw the boy on video not long after he went missing. >> the man says those images have haunted him ever since. he says he pointed police toward a key person of interest in the case. we must warn you his story is disturbing. >> people need to know what i seen that night. >> reporter: daniel says it was the night of february 14th 1993 when this man showed him a graphic video that left him

traumatized. >> a little boy who was shockackled handcuffed and had a ball gag in his mouth. >> reporter: he says he is certain the boy was the boy who was 11 when he vanished less than two years earlier. >> i remember looking at this lgt boy's face and just the look -- i mean complete -- you ever seen fear just through the eyes? man, the boy was scared to death. >> reporter: are you positive that this is the boy from south jersey. he confessed to me and said it was him. i said what did you do with him. he said i did the rest of him. i disposed of him. what do you mean rest of him? all the7z little kids i did. >> reporter: he admits he was

working as a prostitute at the time but ka vaj was a repeat client. nearly 25 at the time tells me he informed police the next day about what the man had showed him and told him about finding and taking other kids. >> he kept reassuring me, i need you, i need you to help me get the little kids. >> reporter: authorities launched an investigation but he was never charged in the case. he has denied any involvement. six years later, he pleaded guilty to :fs sex crime charges involving y7÷",ñtn chester county. he remains in prison. during a renewed push in june to solve the mystery, investigators confirmed to nbc10 he is one of several persons of interest in mark's 1991 disappearance from middle township. >> the grand jury had testified up in camden for the feds.

they need more people to come forward on this because he's there, people seen him there. >> reporter: there is the neighborhood where the man in this sketch was seen talking with the boy shortly before he vanished. police have been trying to find people who might have seen him in that area. call decided to speak publicly for the first series of reports on the case in the last few months. he also says he's terminally ill. police are confident the man we interviewed is the same formeéúu%s prostitute who triggered the original investigation. as a result of him coming forward to us detectives are now hoping to speak with him again. in middle township, ted greenberg, nbc10 news. police say avg father is dead at the hands of his own son tonight. sky 4's ten over trappe lane.

that's where police tell us a man in his 20s stabbed his father to death after an argument. officers have the son in custody tonight. >> traffic is moving again on the turnpike after a tractor-trailer fire led to hours of delays. sky force 10 was above the turnpike in south hampton bucks county. that fire started around noon. >> new at 11:00 nbc10 is uncovering new details in pennsylvania's push for speed6- cameras on major highways. >> the36 five-year pilot program bringing those cameras to construction zones where speeding is a problem. >> we spoke to drivers about the possibility of a $100 fine. george? >> reporter: as you'd imagine, opinions vary widely. this senate bill aims to give the cameras a five-year test

statewide. and work zones could be one stop where driversrf.tñ see those cameras first. on pennsylvania highways, you can hear the speed of cars and trucks wizzing past. and if some state lawmakers get their way, speed cameras would soon be watching keeping tabs on drivers. >> if you're not doing nothing wrong, you got nothing to be worried about. >> i hate any kind of cameras. i'm sick of it. >> reporter: in penndot and turnpike work zones, the cameras would detective vehicles exceeding posted speed limits recording an image including license plate and speed. within a month, violators would get the violation by mail including the $100 fine.

>> they're trying to go places and be there on time. >> reporter: the safety of highway workers is a significant concern. in may, four highway workers were injured. the turnpike authority has made driver awareness is priority with television ads. the proposeal requires at least two warnings signs placed to alert drivers before they enter a speed camera zone. and only vehicles traveling at least 11 miles per hour over the speed limit would get violations. in joounune, this bill moved before the state senate transportation committy. a similar program down in maryland has reduced work zone speeding. nbc10 news. more than 328,000, tonight septa tells us that's how many

neighbors and loved ones gathered tonight in a march for peace and a call for justice for a 5-year-old girl kidnapped and beaten last week. nbc10 in north philadelphia tonight. some philadelphia police officers joined the group at 17th and west lee high and made their way to hutchinson street. that's where police say a man climbed through the alley way window of the family's home then forced that girl outside where he beat her. the child's mother found the girl barely conscious in the backyard. police are still looking for her attacker. happening tonight, not sure if you heard about this it's

national night out. and celebrations are happening all across the region to build stronger communities. nbc10 here in ardmore montgomery county tonight. enjoying live entertainment and also some carnival rides. in delaware dozens packed into rodney square to get a look at high-tech gear. officers served up cool treats on this warm night. >> and camden celebrated national night out with an old-fashioned barbecue. police kicked back with neighbors to enjoy a beautiful night. national night out, yearly event aimed at building better relationships between police and the communities they serve. new at 11:00, just when you thought wawa had everything you needed soon you could see something new on their shelves.

we're talking about beer. >> it's a decision that's the first of its kind in our area but it doesn't apply to every wawa. >> reporter: this is the first wawa in pennsylvania to win approval so people who come here at all hours of the night could be walking out with a six pack or two. this man plans to buy more than coffee in the near future. >> i can come to wawa get an awesome sandwich and pick up a six pack and go home. that would be amazing. >> reporter: it won't be at every store. the thumbs up came within the first 15 minutes of tonight's concord township board of supervisors meeting. but a win for wawa is seen as a loss to local beer distributors who have dominated pennsylvania's beer market and say the extra competition will hurt their business. >> there's only so much beer that can be sold in a

geographical area. there's no way around it. >> reporter: the township's decision to grand approval is the first of its kind for the retailer in pennsylvania. customers will face limits of buying two six-packs at a time. even one pack is one too many for critics. >> i just don't think it's right. >> reporter: others say, it's about time for wawa to get aboard the beer-selling band wagon. this is the first f many steps before wawa starts officially selling beer. in concord township nbc10 news. well, we have some storms around tonight. not for everybody, though. it's mostly south jersey and parts of delaware. mostly cape may and counties. we could have a few more overnight too. the heat wave continued today. we've been in it since last

tuesday and we may still be in it tomorrow. it will be pretty borderline. less humid, though, tomorrow. here the wakeup temperatures by 8:00 in the morning, areas north and west around 67 degrees, philadelphia area mid-70s, new jersey delaware right around the mid to low 70s. so pretty nice day tomorrow. in the meantime we still do have storms around on the radar. so we are looking at south jersey and delaware mostly. this is one area where we have seen indications of hail. this storm is moving offshore. sea isle city you're still seeing heavy rain from the storm. the lightning is mostly offshore. right where you see this green area that's a flood advisory until 2:30 in the morning. so we've already seen about an inch of rain falling in this area. conditions are greatly improving. we've also seen hail close to 1.5 inches in diameter. we still have more rains through

parts of atlanta county also gallo way township. and just some light rain right somez+á[ñ heavier rain is in sussex county now. this is where we're seeing another area of storms moving into. the radar is trying to indicate at least some small hail.kwwxw this is just south of georgetown. so this will be moving towards the delaware beaches in sussex county. another cluster of storms in maryland trying to make their way into delaware. over the next few hours, i think we'll have some more showers or storms pass through. tomorrow morning conditions will really improve a lot for those areas seeing the storms. tomorrow afternoon sunny, less humid. then we go into thursday. still a really nice day thursday but then you notice the clouds increasing through thursday afternoon. so we are looking at our next round of rain coming as we go

mostly into friday. friday's going to be the next chance of rain. tonight, though thunderstorms mainly new jersey and delaware. temperatures right around 70 for philadelphia. tomorrow, warm and windy. right near 90 degrees tomorrow. then we go into thursday. we are definitely breaking out of the heat wave on thursday with a high of 83. friday looking at that rain chance. highs in the mid to upper 70s. the owner of dorney park wants to pair a roller coaster with virtual reality. it's ready to begin testing a virtual reality application on one of its coasters. the company will reveal which park and which coaster in a few weeks. hey eggagles fan, jimmy roll lins back in philly for the first time in dodger blue. hopefully we will hear from him about this the standing
