11:17 am
the heat wave will be ending. not necessarily today but it's not going to get to den days by tomorrow. it's going to be a great night for baseball once again with the very low humidity when it gets dark, it gets extra comfortable. 85 degrees. relative humidity 33%. it just feels like 85. the wind is west-northwest at 12 miles an hour. it's going to be a pretty breezy across the area. 72 in mt. pocono. it is into the mid-80s in the philadelphia area right now. and closing in on the mid-80s in much of south jersey and in delaware. 83 degrees in dover and wilmington right now. now, at the shore, the wind direction is, of course, the key. this is a land breeze. so, northwest winds, so it's just as warm in beach haven as it is at the atlantic city airport. that's the only way you can see that if we have a wind coming in
11:18 am
off the ocean, we might see, let's say, a 10-degree temperature difference between the coast and inland. you can see just some high, thin clouds coming across the area, so we continue to dry out. the next area of moisture is near st. louis, but we've got a lot of dry air that's moving in here, so we're going to be dry today, tonight and tomorrow. but not necessarily beyond that. here's our west and northwest wind, the dry air tonight as we go into tomorrow. watch the wind change. it's going to become northerly wind now by tomorrow morning. maybe start to come in out of the northeast. then here comes some rain. this is the future weather computers. you can see the northeast wind. then starts coming in off the ocean and that rain is getting closer. delaware, south jersey, best chance of getting some of that,
11:19 am
even by late tomorrow or tomorrow night, i think, more likely. and you can see the farther north you are, the better chance you have of not seeing this rain. but one of the computer models, the most reliable, do bring some significant rain to parts of delaware and extreme south jersey. this is mainly thursday night and into friday morning. while the farther north you get, the better chance you have of getting no rain at all. and it doesn't look like there's going to be rain over the weekend either. so, it's going to be hot and breezy today, but less humid. very low humidity for summertime. high temperatures getting perhaps a little above the 90-degree mark. 91 is what i'm going for here. but tomorrow, we're not getting there. we don't have any computer model suggesting we're getting to 90 degrees tomorrow. but the clouds increase and we could see some rain by thursday
11:20 am
night. and on friday, the best chance of that rain is south of philadelphia. we could still get some in the mfl area, but it may be that most of it falls during the nighttime hours on thursday night. and that sets us up for a pretty nice weekend. temperatures into the mid-80s. still low humidity and no rain expected. zoo thank you, glenn. it's an issue the catholic church has grammed with for years. the new remarks pope francis made this morning about divorced catholics who remarry. and spicing it up. why experts say adding a little more spice to your diet could help you live longer.
