that rain moved on yesterday and here we are with a nice morning. >> actually very nice. the skies have cleared out and the humidity will be dropping during the day. the temperatures have come down into the 60s for allentown and pottstown, wilmington is 68 and 72 degrees in philadelphia. nice, clear view across the delaware. right now we're looking at sunshine for today. a few scattered clouds at 6:00, 70 degrees, by 9:00 we'll be up to 74 and 80 degrees at lunch time. there are a few spots seeing a little bit of fog. we'll show you where those are when i come back in ten minutes. right now it's time for traffic with first alert traffic reporter courtney shipp. >> nothing to show you really here on the i-76 eastbound right at city avenue but just to go over some of your drive times, 95 southbound, woodhaven road to 676. it's going to take you 14 minutes. everything is clear for 76 eastbound out of the pa turnpike to 676.

that's going to take you about 36 minutes, the average speed, 37 miles per hour and 476 northbound, 95 to 76 will take you on average about 15 minutes. i am fully starting to get reports of construction and even a fewç accidents. i'll go over there coming up in just a bit. >> you may be pay twice as much to cross two local bridges. commissioners will decide that tonight. matt delucia is in palmyra. >> this is in fact, two local bridges, the burlington bristol and the tacony palmyra. the burlington county bridge commission says it doesn't have

another commission. their argument is $110 million is needed to make safety improvements to the bridges built in 1929 and 1931. for cars the toll would go from $2 to $4, if you pay cash and $2 to $3 if you have e-z pass. this would be the second toll hike in 25 years. the commissioners are scheduled to vote on the increase later today. if it's approved you'll pay more starting september 15th. some drivers are not very happy. i'll have some of their thoughts when we see you again coming up at 4:30. live in palmyra, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. new from overnight, a barrage of gunfire sent two men to the hospital and narrowly missed a pregnant woman. it happened on 30th street in the grays ferry section of philadelphia. police say two men in their 20s were sitting on their front porch when the gunman unloaded, firing two dozen bullets at the house. both men were hit multiple times.

they're in stable condition. the bullets hit a pregnant woman. police tell us someone shot three people, two men and a woman on crowson street around 1:00 this morning. two of them are in critical condition. police are still looking for the gunman in both of those shootings. 4:04. we have new information on the overdose death of a 2-year-old boy in bucks county. >> i didn't do nothing. why would i kill my own son? >> why would i kill my own son? that was the toddler's father, cocoa wallace when he was arrested last november on charges of criminal homicide. we've learn his trial is set for this november. his son died from an overdose of prescription pain killers at their home in middletown township. wallace told a prison informant that he killed his son to get back at the boy's mother for an alleged affair. they said wallace later denied that story. this morning, a preliminary hearing is scheduled for the man

accused of murdering a drexel graduate. authorities say james harris broke into jasmine wright's apartment in west philadelphia last month when she return and came hole, they say he was waiting on her, he beat, strangled and sexually assaulted her. harris was a maintenance worker to are that building. when he was fired he never returned the keys, giving him access to her apartment. a tour bus driver under investigation for a deadly hit and run in philadelphia said he had no idea he had hit someone, according to a co-worker. it happened yesterday morning as that bus was turning on to franklin street from race street in center city. this surveillance photo shows the bus police believe hit and dragged joseph heard. it is possible that the driver didn't know what happened, police say. they're still investigating and no charges have been filed at this point. nbc 10 found out the bus is owned by yepç tours incorporat, the same company that made

headlines after this video surfaced showing the driver tapping on a cell phone as he drove down the highway. that driver was fired after that video came out. federal records show yep had 25 unsafe driving violations in two years. yep's owner told us those violations represent only a small portion of the company's total trips. in just a few hours we will hear from pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane for the first time since having charges filed against her. kane scheduled a news conference for today in harrisburg. yesterday, the head of her security detail pleaded not guilty in norristown, montgomery county. patrick reese is accused of an e-mail snooping scheme to help his boss keep tabs on a grand jury investigation. prosecutors say kane leaked secret grand jury information and then lied about it under oath. kane denied any wrong doing on several occasions and has refused calls to resign. happening right now, septa's second lottery for special passes for the papal visit is under way. this time for the norristown

high-speed line and trolley routes 101 and 102. customers have all day, until 11:59 p.m. to enter the lottery on septa's website. septa will notify winners on friday. check the nbc 10 app for a full breakdown of the changes for the papal visit. you'll also find a full rundown of events, including when and where you'll be able to see pope francis. imagine that it's your job to play host to him when he comes to town. we're talking about hosting him inside your own house. ahead at 4:15, tracy davidson takes you inside the montgomery county seminary where the pope will be spending the night. 4:07. camden residents should have had a say. that's the ruling from the new jersey supreme court on the dismantling of that city's police department in 2013, the city eliminated its police department and replaced it with a county-run force. a group of activists petitioned for a vote to stop the

changeover. yesterday, the court ruled there should have been a vote but the justices said it's too late to do anything about it. camden county leaders say since that changeover, violent crime has gone down in camden. democrats scored a sweeping win in yesterday's special election. in the 195th district, voters sent donna bullock to harrisburg. she'll finish the term of a state representative who resigned after a corruption scheme. joanna mcclinton, a former chief council to state senator anthony williams will represent the 191st district. in the 174th district, former city councilman ed nelson was the winner. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> eight minutes after 4:00. the temperatures are coming down now that the clouds are out of the picture. no sign of fog here. there are a few areas in interior new jersey seeing a bit of fog this morning.

the temperatures are dropping, 66 in allentown, 60s for northeast philadelphia and atlantic city both at 68 degrees. look at that, boathouse row is glowing this morning. the sun will be glowing during the day and the temperatures will warm into the 80s this afternoon. as the temperatures go up, the humidity that's already starting to fall will be coming down. no sign of fog for the pocono mountains, for the lehigh valley, pottstown is in the clear. very light fog in blue bell. mount holly in burlington county has quarter mile visibility. dense fog there. a light fog surrounding millville, a three-mile visibility. the rest of theç area is in th clear. with a little bit of sunshine, that fog will be disappearing. already out of the picture, the rain. radar is clear for the area. a few isolated showers along the northern tier of pennsylvania. a slight chance of a pop-up shower in the pocono mountains. mainly it will be sunshine, 71 degrees from mount pocono. low 80s for allentown, reading

song. >> no specific food requests but we do know -- >> he generally likes not the food be served but he would go to a buffet and take what he wants. >> on sunday, the pope will likely walk this hall of history. to the altar in st. martin's championle to where he'll address hundreds of bishops around the world. bishop senior knows it will be a life highlight for all those who will be here. >> it was an incredible night, one that we certainly as seminarians and anyone who was there that evening will never forget. >> and the current seminarians return from summer break next tuesday. bishop senior says they'll continue to get details from the vatican and then the preparation mode to welcome a very special visitor will be in high gear. meantime, we're learning more about how the pope's visit will affect traffic around the seminary. as we told you before, parts of city avenue will be closed. now we he know someç of the crs

streets will be open. you'll be able to use the sidewalks on city avenue and businesses will be allowed to stay open. the only exception when pope francis is en route to and from saint charles borromeo seminary. 4:17. illinois state police now confirm that wreckage found by a hiker is from a plane reported missing early monday morning. that hiker discovered the plane and two bodies monday night in the shawnee national forest. investigator have not released the identities of the victims but did confirm this is the same plane that took off from a kentucky airport sunday afternoon. >> just a lot of debris. it looks just like -- to me, it looks like the plane fell apart. >> the cause of the crash is still under investigation. and the investigation also continues into what caused a southwest airlines jet to slide off a runway at orlando international airport last night. look at this. thankfully, no passengers were on that plane. it was just being moved from one

hangar to another. officials say the nose gear collapsed which made the plane immobile. new surveillance video from ferguson, missouri, which police say helps explain why they shot and wounded a man during protests sunday night. the video shows 18-year-old tyrone harris grabbing a gun from his waistband before shooting an unmarked police car. investigators say the officers then returned fire. look at the circle shadow there. officers returned fire. you saw the crowd scattering in that surveillance footage right there. again, video of the crowd scattering. the teen is in critical condition. the shooting happened during protests to mark the anniversary of the police shooting death of unarmed teen michael brown. that case remains under investigation. severe storms damaged at least eight planes at a texas airport yesterday afternoon. the planes were tossed around like toys. look at this. some of them ending up in the

woods next to the airport, which is about 80 miles from houston. airport officials say all of those planes were tied down when the storm came through. the airport itself was also damaged. a total of at least $300,000. city officials in los angeles have a new innovative way of battling the record drought conditions they've been dealing with this summer. take a look at this. >> three, two, one. >> 20,000 black plastic weighted balls were released into the los angeles reservoir. los angeles mayor says that this will save 300 million gallons of water from evaporating every year. experts consider this a cost effective way to conserve water and ensure drinking water quality. wow. this may not ensure very much for you except your skin crawling here. a huge spider web at a dallas area state park that has attracted thousands of insects. the insects, a lot of them probably didn't want to be

nbc10.com. a 12-year-old boy continues to recover after a sand tunnel collapsed on him in ocean county. he was digging on the beach there in surf city on monday when that tunnel caved in. lifeguards dug him out, revived him with cpr. that accident has brought back painful memories for former emt kimberly karolyi. she'll never forget trying to save a teen 14 years ago. that teen did not survive. >> the more they dug, the more the sand kept falling in. paramedics were with us. they tried to intubate them. >> crowley launched a campaign after that incident. signs went up warning beachgoers about digging in the sand. look at this beautiful view
