leaking grand jury information to the press. ordering staff to dig through employee e-mails. she did not answer questions or explain how e-mails uncovered after her review of the jerry sandusky investigation relate to the criminal charges. she called those e-mails sexually explicit or religious and racially offensive. she painted a picture of a plan that had been hatched years ago, to remove letter from office. >> the chain of events that led to this moment began long before that. it began with the group of state educators and judges passing pornographic and religiously offensive e-mails among each other. >> her spokesman did answer some questions. >> i would say that she is talking about a series of e-mails that has long been known in the public arena. >> she's prevented from saying

too much because of a judge's order, preventing her from talking about them. >> can you provide us a copy of this order that prevents her from talking. >> as we've seen in the press, some of those e-mails have been released. >> you would have to talk to the judge about that. >> no criminal charges have been filed in relation to the e-mails. kane says more than 20 in her office were disciplined. kane says she refuses to step down and points to what she labels as high arrests in her office. >> i made a promise that i was going to finish a job, and i was going to do it. >> kane says she'll happily release all of those e-mails if a judge issues an order directing her to do so, and issues in that order that she be protected from any criminal or civil charges from it. i reached out to that montgomery county judge. he's not seen letter news conference. i also reached out to the district attorney's office. we were informed of a policy that prevents them from talking about comments made by criminal

in glassboro gloucester county, two people get out of the car, knock on a window of a home, and take off. they return two minutes later, this time, the two people come out of the house and confront the four people inside the car. the driver takes off, driving a man down the street. a woman was driving the orange dodge neon. the man who was hit is okay. we have new information about a deadly hit and run involving a tour bus in center city, philadelphia. the bus driver tells them he had no idea he hit anyone. the bus killed joseph yesterday morning at franklin and race streets. right outside police headquarters. the bus hit and dragged him before continuing on to washington, d.c.. the driver tells them he wasn't aware he hit anyone. and the 19 passengers say they didn't know either. a search is under way for a gunman who shot two guys in southwest philadelphia. it happened on 30th street. two men in their 20s were

sitting on a front pore much when the gunman unloaded, firing two dozen rounds at the house. both men are okay, the bullets just missed the victim's sister who's six months pregnant. to more violence in east germantown, police say someone shot three people, two men and women around 1:00 this morning. all three victims are in stable condition. police are still looking for the gunman. six weeks since governor wolf vetoed the pennsylvania state budget. a group of montgomery county faith leaders met to ask for an end to the impasse. they spoke to republican senator bob mench. they say the budget delay is going to hurt schools. republicans say they won't approve tax increases. powers says both sides need to negotiate. >> fortunately you see that people are stubborn, they don't want to move on their sides or

issues. which is sad. >> until a deal is reached, billions of dollars earmarked for counties nonprofit groups will be held up. cuts are coming to the christina school district athletic departments. just how deep will they be is unknown? the district school board introduced a preliminary budget last night. there's a $9 million shortfall. jv coaches, band directors will no longer get extra pay for extra responsibility. guidance counseling at elementary schools will be cut. and five delaware state troopers are being dropped as school resource officers. a deadline is looming for homeowners who were impacted by hurricane sandy and want their insurance claims reviewed. fema issued a reminder today, people who filed sandy related claims under the national flood insurance program have until september 15th to see if their claims were under paid.

fema has already sent letters to 142,000 people who filed sandy claims, offering to review their files. so far they've only heard from about 8900 people. here is the question, will they increase tolls to cross the delaware river? we should know in a few hours. the burlington bridge commission says it needs $100 million to make safety improvements. a vote is slighted for 6:00 tonight, if approved, the increases will begin next month. right now at 5:00, new details on how leaders plan to get thousands and thousands and thousands of people into philadelphia for the pope's visit. >> a big part of that plan will include public transit from the other side of the river. nbc10's drew smith spoke to leaders today, he joins us live on the camden waterfront. >> people want to know how this

thing is going to work. i understand officials aren't releasing all the details yet? >> they're not going to, because they don't want you to know exactly how it's going to look over here when people try to get up on the ben franklin bridge to walk across. we do know police chiefs across both states are partnering and they need to plan to make sure they're on the same page to make this pilgrimage as smooth as possible. when it comes to the pope's visit to philadelphia, there is some optimists about the transportation plan for the event. >> we have a top notch transit system. >> it's not as hard to find people who aren't as hopeful. >> i was going to go away. hopefully i can get out of the airport in time. >> it's a mess. the whole thing is going to be a complete disaster. >> we took questions directly to the man in charge of the delaware river port authority which manages bridges. here's his take on security.

dozens of people marched through the streets of philadelphia this afternoon, as part of the black lives matter movement, sweeping through the country. the protests have slowed. police say they now outnumber protesters in st. louis, where the black lives matter movement began. protests started on the anniversary of michael brown's death. the unarmed teenager killed by police.

washington. students in our area will benefit from a big grant being awarded to help low income teens take advanced placement tests. the department of education is getting more than $673,000. new jersey will get $556,000. advanced placement tests are very expensive, they cost about $90 each. these grants will help reduce the costs for low income students to about $12 a test. 38 states are getting nearly $30 million in grants from the u.s. department of education. >> the key thing with advanced placement courses is that research evidence shows that the courses help students do better. not only in high school, but when they get to college, students who have taken ap courses are better prepared. >> even if they don't do well on the exam. >> the goal is to encourage students to take the courses by eliminating obstacles. a second man is arrested for

a money bag heist in new jersey. police say two atm employees accidentally left a bag of cash on the street. it contained $150,000. later a van pulls up, a man gets out. and takes the bag. police say the man has been arrested at a motel in newark. police arrested a suspected driver of the van last month. 42-year-old alton harvey. harvey bought an suv with some of the money. police have not said if the rest of the cash has been found. a new jersey native spending a year in space is giving a unique view of his hometown. this is the photo here that scott kelly tweeted from outer space. he said after 300 days in space. 15 years, i finally got a picture of my hometown. kelly is one of two astronauts on a year in space mission at the international space station. he's studying the medical and

psychological effects of long term space travel on humans. his identical twin brother is being monitored on earth. the meteor shower will be at its peak tonight. experts say will conditions look perfect for nighttime viewing. >> sheena parveen joins us now with more on this. this should be clear for us to see. >> skies are going to be clear tonight. what's so awesome about these meteor showers. it's a large comet, it orbits the sun every 133 years, what's going to happen, we're going to be passing through the debris field from the comet, this happens every august, just so you know. it's the percy immediate yore shower. we expect clear skies tonight. and because we have a new moon. that's going to create great viewing conditions. that's going to be your best viewing across the area. doesn't matter where you are, just as long as you can get away from the city lights. expect 100 meteors per hour, this has been observed for over 2,000 years, it's going to be a

great sight. they're going to be going all over the sky, not just from one direction. you won't have a problem seeing this as long as you can get away from the city lights. temperatures are pretty comfortable the lou humidity in place, it's going to stay that way tonight. hopefully you can get out there and see the meteor shower, it's going to be comfortable for that. locally, the low humidity continues as we go into tomorrow. let's take a look at our headlines here, as we go into tomorrow, temperatures will be staying at about the mid to low 80s, more nice days ahead as we go into tomorrow and friday. even over the weekend. we also have a heat wave in the forecast too. we have temperatures back around 90 degrees, that's going to come with a dry stretch of weather for us. live look across center city right now. mostly sunny skies. humidity is low, only 37%.

and temperatures are comfortable even through the lehigh valley, low 80s for allentown and reading. south jersey and delaware, temperatures here are in about the mid to low 80s, it's comfortable everywhere with that low humidity too. this is the way it's going to stay into tomorrow. tomorrow's going to be nicer than today, believe it or not. satellite and radar, nice and clear across the area. we're watching a few showers, just to the north and west of the poconos, i don't think these will bother us, we expect clear skies overnight tonight. low hud mitity stays around as we go through the rest of the evening. it's going to feel comfortable. especially early tomorrow morning. through the day tomorrow, expect sunny skies again, humidity stays low through the afternoon, temperatures will be a couple degrees lower than today in a few spots. still looking at the lower humidity, temperatures will be getting hotter. we still stay dry through friday afternoon, we're going to start getting closer to the 90 degree

entered a lower manhattan courthouse this morning, as he tries to have his four-game suspension overturned. moments before brady was handed down his suspension, roger goodell arrived to a crowd of boos. in court, the league told the district judge, it did follow its collective bargaining agreement with the player's union properly when it decided on the four-game suspension for brady. there is considerable evidence that brady clearly knew about football deflation. tom brady and the player's union disagree. saying without concrete evidence the suspension is unfair. in the july internal nfl decision, brady had his assistant destroy his cell phone, containing more than 10,000 text messages from last

season. after more than two hours of talks, the judge pushed each side to reach an agreement on their own or they'll return to court next week. despite its hardline stance against one of its star players on tuesday, the league would fully adhere to the judge's decision. >> i would certainly cooperate fully with that, and we'll allow the judge to handle the process from there. >> process that continues to keep the quarterback off the field for the start of the upcoming season. back here at home. neighbors say their streets are tight as it is. now, add hundreds of students to the mix. >> how they're fighting against a new charter school next at 5:00. then at 6:00, west nile warning. it's a virus that can turn deadly. now there are signs this could be a bad year for west nile and part of our region. the one area where more mosquitos are testing positive for the virus.

more trouble as the school year unfolds. tim furlong was in the neighborhood today. >> what's their biggest concern? >> let's look at the list. traffic, parking and probably traffic. you see this neighborhood, it's pretty tight. people are starting to come home from work. the house is packed tightly, the traffic is crazy around this tight little turn back here. now these folks, whether they like it or not. many don't. they live in a school zone, some people didn't want this big vacant building to come with a school zone. it's here and everyone is trying to co exist. >> there's no space. that reality is no space. >> deon has lived here for 67 years, he's one of the residents who made it clear, he doesn't want the new charter school opening around the corner in this building. roughly 220 age and ninth graders are starting school here. the school plans to expand to 550 kids in grades 8 through 12. >> traffic is an issue, you can

see how short and narrow that turn is. >> a camera on our bumper shows how it gets tight through here. when i talked to school administrators today, they admit they don't have many parking spaces of their own. they will not be allowed to pull down this street to let them off, even in bad weather. >> school administrators have claimed they won't tolerate that. we're going to be trusting the school administrators to make sure they enforce the way the students arrive and depart. >> it's any neighborhood and i want the best for it. >> claire was happy to see add mifrn straighters driving away from the neighborhood this morning. we saw some parents waiting on the side streets where they're learning they're not supposed to be. a judge has ordered the school to get an annual report on the neighborhood. if they don't keep their promises, they are going to drag them back into court. >> they're going to hold them accountable if they don't live up to what they're saying?

>> exactly. >> the office building is huge and it's right here too. the neighborhood is used to some foot traffic. what happens when the school over here -- where is everyone going to park? some neighbors are now working correctively with this school to try to figure this out. lots of other neighbors tell me they're going to keep a close eye on this school. they're going to get some angry phone calls, maybe from the lawyers. live in wilmington, tim furlong, nbc10 news. >> staying in delaware now. officials are talking about spending millions of dollars to fight drug abuse. jack marcal asked for $4.5 million to tackle the problem and got it. it includes increasing withdrawal management services across the street, and increasing the number of beds at sober living facilities. 185 people died last year because of a suspected drug overdose. doylestown may soon join two other bucks county communities supporting the legalization of medical marijuana.

the full council adopt the resolution. the council will meet about it on monday. penndel and sellersville already urge the state to make marijuana available to those with chronic illnesses who could benefit from the drug. medical marijuana isn't legal in pennsylvania. but supporters have been trying to push it through the state legislature. a bill did pass through the senate this year, but the house hasn't done anything with it. medical marijuana is legal in delaware and new jersey. the cost for a medical card in delaware is $125. in new jersey it's $200. a fight is building over food trucks in part of university city. an online petition launched monday already has close to 1500 signatures. what's the beef? philadelphia city council woman jean black well interest gused the bill that limits the number of trucks that surrounds drexel university. it also charges owners a hefty fee. there are 25 vendors, the bill lowers that number to 10 and

charges them $127 a year for parking. the road to the jersey shore on route 55 never reaches the beaches. instead it ends in cumberland county, and that was not the initial plan. tonight lawmakers are trying to extend the road road to cape may. it's original destination. in a recent letter, legislatures call on the state to extend the road from morris township to cape may, the matter is still in committee. the list of bill cosby accusers grew again today. three women came forward this afternoon, to debail allegations that cosby sexually assaulted them. two of the women were actresses, the third is a flight attendant. they're represented by gloria allred. allred responded to one of cosby's attorneys who's questioned why these accusations are being made decades later. >> there is statute of limb nations on the right of free

speech. a person that alleges they are a victim can speak out at any time. >> with these new allegations, nearly 50 women have accused cosby of sexual assault and rape, a recently released deposition shows the comedian admitted to sedating at least one woman and purchasing drugs. cosby has denied the allegations and has never been criminally charged. you may have seen them rifling through your trash or pawing at your bird feeder. new jersey is looking for ways to fight back against the growing presence of bears. and even if you can't adopt a pet right now, you can still help nbc10 clear the shelters. we'll show you how next.
