monique? >> reporter: it's a tough day for not only the officers here but all police officers across the city. we have learned that grief counseling is being offered to the men and women here. police say if you'they are at as to what happened. they don't believe the accident was alcohol related. >> ali, he loved his children. always had them here playing back and forth. very friendly with the neighbors. >> neighbors recall fond memories of sergeant raphael ali. one shares how the 32-year-old ali touched his life. >> i got in an accident on henry avenue. a guy cut me off and my tire blew and he stopped by. he came by and said he saw me. helped me change it. he was just, you know, awesome. >> accident investigators tell us the ten year police veteran lost control here on henry avenue just south of due pont.

>> sad day for police and our family. >> police also say ali was wearing his seat belt but he may have fallen asleep and then unknowingly speeded up in the 35 mile per hour zone. >> there is no skid marks. no stopping. the vehicle did not skid, did not hit the brakes. the operator did not hit the brakes and impacted the tree with such force to do some serious injury. >> a police car from the 39th did is posted outside his home here on 65th avenue. his commander spoke to us exclusively. >> he is a dedicated family person. and he was an example of how we want our police supervisors to be. >> sergeant ali will be dearly missed. he leaves behind two school aged

children. live outside the 39th district, monique braxton, nbc 10 news. two people had to be cut out of this car in philadelphia's oxford neighborhood. police got the call about 9:30 this morning. the car ended up flipped on its side. a lot of people in the neighborhood heard the crash and went outside to see what happened. >> i just heard a big bang and come out and saw this. >> it's crazy. it's early sunday morning and you don't know where everybody fits in and you walked him by and see a car flipped like that it's like you are wondering, you know, is anybody dead? >> neighbors tell us this is a dangerous intersection and you need to be careful walking your dog.

head into tomorrow evening. a little bit of patchy fog and then i will be tracking a nice stretch of weather. i will go over all the details and what you can expect coming up in about ten minutes. >> thanks. we have new information about a shooting in burlington county last night. friends of a teen aged boy accidentally shot him in the chest. two of the boys' friends had brought over a handgun and the weapon accidentally discharged as they were handling it. his friends are now facing weapons charges. and in north philadelphia, police are investigating a shooting that sent two men to the hospital. both men were shot in the leg this afternoon and taken to temple. we are waiting to hear how the men are doing and what sparked the shooting. >> and the person who took this giant painted mushroom is asked to simply return2,d7< it.

to sz painted concrete t. mushroom was outside of sinclair's sunrise cafe. the sculptture was to be entered into a silent auction to go to local non-profits in the area. the school says it is turning off hot water systems to several buildings. tests showed there is no more bacteria there. the university is warning anyone with pneumonia to be tested with legionnaires disease. it's not something you can catch from another person. a judge will decide tomorrow if pennsylvania attorney general

moving in. we are tracking where the next changes are going to come from. that's going to slowly make its way eastward as we head into the rest of tonight and into tomorrow. we will start off dry but you will notice closer to 1:00, 2:00, a few stray showers starting to organize themselves closer to 7:00 p.m., that's where we're going see a better chance of storms. you should be fine if you leave to head home from work right around 5:00, but if you head home later you might run into showers. closer to 10:00, 11:00, we will see all of the thunderstorms transition a bit closer to philadelphia and pushing into south jersey before starting to clear up into the morning hours. if you leave early for work on tuesday, we will also see a few stray showers so you could see wet roads out there and things will clear up as we head into the rest of tuesday. tropical storm danny, it was a

hurricane earlier and now it has been drown graded. moving right around 40 miles per hour and then we will see the movement to the west at 16 miles per hour. it's actually continuing to weaken earlier today the wind speeds were sustained closer to 50 miles per hour. and this is still 165 miles east southeast and as it continues to progress to the west, we will see this weakening so it's actually going to be beneficial and bring a lot of rain to some of the islands that really need the rainfall. that's going to happen overnight. closer look at the highs around the region tomorrow we will get close to 90. a closer look at our tonight forecast will drop down to ab t about, down to 56. be careful driving. same thing tomorrow tracking the evening storms and then 86 to
