supporters? >> i don't know. i have very big support. i'm leading every poll by double digits and there is a movement, a silent majority happening. it's impressive to see. he was totally out of line last night. i was asking and being asked a question from another reporter. i would have gotten to him quickly. he stood up and started ranting and raving like a madman. frankly, he was out of line. most people -- in fact, most newspaper reports said i handled it well. he was totally, absolutely out of line. >> you have said when people treat me unfairly, i don't let them forget me. that leads me to megyn kelly. you thought she was unfair in questioning to you and 19 days later she comes back from vacation on monday and it seemed in an unprovoked attack you went back after her, questioning her appearance, her performance and retweeting a very unflattering comment about her that called

her a bimbo. why have you let her get so far under your skin? >> well, haven't. if you tweet a few tweets or retweets that's not getting under your skin. i'm not a fan. i don't think she does a good job. i don't think she's a very good professional. frankly, the show is better without her. that's up to them. they can do what they want. i respect roger. he can do what he wants. >> it sounds a little bit -- and take it the right way -- like you are a guy with a schoolyard crush. when we were in elementary and junior high school guys say the meanest things about the girls they like the most. >> trust me, matt. there is no crush, that i can tell you. as far as i was concerned during the debate she asked me questions that were totally inappropriate. other people were asked nice questions about jobs, god, other things. she hits me with questions that were totally inappropriate. a lot of people said that. many people agreed with me.

ranting, raving, screaming. honestly, very disrespectful to other reporters. we had a packed house, a tremendous group of people in iowa. the room was packed with thousands of people. the press room was packed. i did a press event. he gets up and starts ranting and raving, very disrespectful to the other reporters. >> you are making the republican establishment nervous. there are two moves i want to talk about. in north carolina and virginia, top republicans are proposing something saying if any candidate wants to be on the primarily ballot the candidate has to pledge to support the eventual nominee and not to run a third party candidacy. that's aimed straight at you. how do you respond? >> first of all, winning those polls by a lot also. north carolina just came out. it's a tremendous margin. i have great relationships in those states and other states have the same provision. they have had it for years.

considering a run of his own. already courting voters, anticipating a battle against hillary clinton's fund-raising juggernaut. president obama reportedly gave biden his blessing to run but a white house spokesman said this is an intensely personal decision for the vice president. meantime a poll shows mixed signals for the democratic front-runner in eye wachlt an overwhelming number of likely caucus goers say they are backing clinton. sanders trails by 34 points and the vice president comes in third. 52% of democrats also say the controversy over e-mails would hurt her in a general election. another sign the scandal isn't going away. secretary clinton ends in minneapolis on friday where the draft biden super pac will have several representatives in force. back to you.

yesterday only to see a 400-plus-point gain in the dow dissipate to a 200-point loss, a massive swing of 600 points in a day. of course this following the big intraday drop we were on with you for -- a thousand points on the beginning of monday's trading session. a lot of traders anxiously waiting to see what happens. a lot of eyes will be focused on whether or not anything in china, anything around the world can really change stock market sentiment. for now, what we have seen is s&p 500, the largest cap stocks in america have lost 900 billion dollars in market value in the last two days alone. if you look at when the selling started the stocks have lost nearly $2 trillion in value in the last week and a half. very much a battle between the optimists and the pessimists on wall street. >> dominic chu at cnbc it's a roller coaster and not the fun kind. >> exactly.

with nbc 10's first alert traffic reporter jessica boyington. jessica? >> chris, we are watching a disabled vehicle. of course the camera moves before we go live with this shot around girard avenue. you can see the disabled vehicle. there is somebody on the scene trying to help him get his car out of the way on the southbound side of 95. this drive time almost a half hour from woodhaven road to the vine street expressway. and we're following a developing story here, skyforce 10 was over the scene a bit earlier of a police-involved shooting in the cobbs creek section of philadelphia. here's what police tell us. they say an officer shot a robbery suspect in the stomach at 61st and spruce around 5:30 this morning. they took that man to the hospital. no word on his condition or exactly what led to the shooting. we'll continue following that for you. another update in 25 minutes. i'm chris cato. have a great morning. patients across the country have spoken.

>> another detective said 119 facebook messages from labrie's account were deleted but police got them from a friend. several of them testified labrie either implied or flat out told them he had sex with the girl. he's pleaded not guilty to all charges. >> i suppose unless you have teenagers who are in high school it's hard to appreciate how these kids talk. it can be pretty crude. >> reporter: a forensics expert testified a sample from the accuser's underwear matched labrie's dna profile. a second test came back inconclusive. labrie maintained he never had intercourse with the girl. savannah? >> gabe gutierrez at the courthouse, thank you. lisa bloom is today's legal analyst. good morning. >> good morning. >> there can't be a trial decision more high stakes than whether to put the defendant on the stand. do you think this is a case where he needs to testify? >> the defense team must have come to the decision that the accuser was credible enough that they are concerned at least on

the statutory rape charge. so they have to put him on. he has to connect with the jury. it's really a risky thing to do. >> yes. >> it shifts the spotlight to him whereas the issue so far has been is she credible. you put him on the stand it's almost a one-witness case. >> right. he's already engaged in a few inconsistencies he'll be hit with on cross-examination. >> what do you do if you are the defense attorney. how do you prepare him? >> i would tell him you have to be liked. you can't be arrogant, not for a moment. the way to be liked is come to mistakes you have made. show remorse. you are not going to admit you raped her but admit you went after her, it was inappropriate. she was 15. you feel badly about what happened. >> the reason this is risky is facing a cross-examination can be tough. say you are the prosecutor. what do you go after? >> my favorite is his claim that he pursued her for months, gets her alone, she seems willing, according to him. he puts on a condom and has a

get ago lot of attention. stephanie gosk is here with the story. >> the debate over le religion in school, a latest chapter , a middle school in kansas where a painting that's hung for decades was removed. this portrait of jesus christ is one of the most famous ever patiented. 500 million copies sold. since the '50s it's hung in this middle school in kansas. but no longer. >> we wanted to try to do it at the earliest point we could. so it wasn't going to create any more controversy. the attorneys were very clear that it was a violation of the establishment clause the way it was hanging. >> reporter: less than a week ago the freedom from religion foundation wrote a letter to the superintendent calling the placement of the portrait an egregious violation of the fist amendment. >> it is a picture of jesus. the courts consistently ruled

pictures of jesus and other religious iconography do not belong in a public school. >> reporter: tell that to an angry middle school student who responded with the portrait in hand. >> i think they shouldn't have tooken it down. it was kind of crazy. >> reporter: the freedom from religion foundation fights battles over church and state all over the country. >> last year we received more than 3,000 initial complaints from people around the country. on all sorts of issues. >> reporter: this month the group protested school prayer before football games in kentucky. the distribution of bibles in some florida schools. in fact, the group brought a lawsuit in ohio over the exact same portrait hanging in a school. the school district settled, agreeing to take the painting down and pay $95,000 amid public anger. >> they don't know anything about the culture of our community. >> reporter: when the letter arrived on superintendent

warmed up to 73 degrees. that's six degrees behind where we were yesterday. and in the mountains, still plenty cool at 60 degrees for mount pocono, 69 trenton and wilmington 71. in montgomery county, the red cross an relatives are helping more than two dozen people who were forced from their homes overnight by a fire. it broke out around 1:30 this morning at the abrams run apartment in king of prussia. the fire destroyed 16 units and took fire crews about five hours to put it out. peco crews had to shut off a ruptured gas line feeding the fire. no one was hurt and investigators are still looking into what caused it. a man shot by police this morning is in surgery now and in the past hour we learned he tried to ambush an officer according to police. police responded to a reported robbery at 50th street and spruce in cobbs creek and say one officer chased the suspect down the street while his partner followed in a cruiser. police say the gunman rounded a corner and stopped waiting on the officer on foot to come around. the officer in the cruiser

taking a look at the headlines, more than 2 million pounds of turkey bacon are being recalled nationwide. kraft says the food may spoil before the best when used by dates. kraft has received reports of people getting sick. for a full list of the recalled turkey bacon products go to today.com. researchers in denmark say taking a low dose painkiller every day for five years may reduce the risk of colon cancer. the study found those who took one or two low dose aspirins for five years cut the risk by about 27%. it also found those who took nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories such as bieb fro finish for five years cut the risk by 30% more

or. there is a caution that people shouldn't take any medicine regularly without consulting their doctor. a new study is suggesting omega-3 supplements do nothing to prevent memory loss. researchers looked at more than 4,000 older adults over a five-year period and found they did nothing to slow down the cognitive decline. one researcher said while the supplements don't cut it, eating foods that are naturally high in omega 3s like salmon, flaxseed and walnuts are a better bet for overall brain health. amazon is expanding the prime now membership program to include beer, wine and hard liquor for the first time. the alcohol sales are offered only in the seattle area with no additional fee for two-hour delivery and $8 for one-hour delivery. amazon isn't saying how soon it could spread to other cities. whale watchers got an eye full

breaking news in philadelphia's nicetown neighborhood. skyforce 10 there within the past 30 minutes when fire crews put out the large flames at a home on north 16th street. now there were initially reports of people trapped inside that row home, but now we know that everyone made it out safely. no word on what caused the fire. skyforce 10 over the scene of this row home fire in germantown and crews quickly put out the flames before they spread to any nearby homes on kimble avenue. no injuries reported in this one either and also to word on what caused that fire.
