nbc 10 news starts now. new from overnight, dozens of bullets flew across a brings busy street in philadelphia. from a square circle to a jail cell. a wrestling legend charged in the cold case murder of his girlfriend in the lehigh valley. and a live look at logan circle. we're off to a bit of a fog did i start this morning. the fog will burn off, the humidity will not. it's sticking with us and there's hotter wedge to come. good morning, this is nbc 10 news today. i'm chris cato. let's go to meteorologist bill henley and his first alert

forecast. good morning, bill. >> good morning, chris. let me show you those areas affected by fog this morning. blue bell, a mile an a quarter visibility, fog in the pocono mountains and western chester conte. mount holly, zero visibility, half a mile in wrightstown, toms river down to a quarter mile visibility, dense fog for millville and atlantic city. fog to start with. it's not going to last all day. the fog that was around in parts of the area in the morning will be long gone by this afternoon, so will the cooler temperatures. not much wind at 9:00, with break of sunshine it will be up to 79 degrees and climbing, upper 80s by lunch time today. much of the area back into the 90s. we'll go through it neighborhood by neighborhood when i'm back in ten minutes. right now, jessica boyington has a look at your wednesday morning iqtraffic. >> it's time for drive times right now. on the vine street expressway,

these are our cameras around 24th street. if you're headed westbound which is actually right in here westbound from 95 to the schuylkill expressway, a two-minute trip. there's nothing impacting that whatsoever. if you're headed eastbound, you will drive past this ongoing work zone right here. not an active scene in terms of its blocking off any lanes. you can still get through the area. something to watch out for in the meantime. you're heading out the door, no problems heading into center city area. our drive times are smooth as well as the blue route, headed southbound from the schuylkill to 95 about a 15-minute trip. coming up in the next ten minutes, i'll do a check in with mass transit. chris? this is new from overnight, a busy section of market street in west philadelphia became the scene of a violent shootout. gunmen fired nearly two dozen shots leaving one person dead. nbc 10's matt delucia is live outside presbyterian hospital where another person wounded by these bullets is being treated.

>> reporter: 21 shots fired from three different guns. at this hour, police are still trying to find the people involved. take a look at this video, the corner of 62nd and market in west philly. police were called out for a report of a shooting. officers get there, they phone a 25-year-old man shot in the chest. they rush him to presbyterian where he later died. during the investigation, police learned about the second victim who was taken to mercy, he had been shot in the hip. he was transferred to presbyterian and is stable. the surveillance video shows some of the bystanders fleeing the scene at the time. there was quite a few people at the intersection at the time all these bullets came out there. police are looking for two men at this hour, one is reportedly a tall man wearing dark clothing, another wearing a white t-shirt, a vague

description, yes, but police are hoping that surveillance video as well as any other evidence found at that scene will help lead them to their suspects. live in university city, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. breaking news from the jersey shore. at least three people died in a fire that swept through a monmouth county home late last night. that home is locked in the beachside city of long branch. they say most of the damage appears to be isolated inside the home. at least three people dead, there could be more victims. no word yet on what caused the fire. we'll pass along any new information as it becomes available. in chester conte, another house fire and officials are investigating this fire that destroyed a home there. skyforce 10 was over the scene on ire court in pocopson. no one was injured in this one. it's not clear what started the fire. secretary of state john kerry will be in philadelphia today to deliver a speech on the nuclear agreement with iran at the national constitution

center. nbc 10's tracy davidson is live in our digital operations center with more. tracy? >> chris, kerry, you'll remember was part of the lengthy and difficult negotiating process with u.s. allies and iran. now the senate has just 15 days left to vote on that deal to freeze iran's capability of making nuclear bombs but not destroying their arsenal. two local democratic senators announced their support for the deal. bob casey of pennsylvania and chris coons of delaware. that makes the president one vet short of a foreign policy victory. >> the agreement enhances our own national security but also "t!ecause right now, the realit is, as we sit here today, iran has only two or three months before they would have enough material to mac a bomb. >> it puts us on a known path of limiting iran's nuclear program for the next 15 years with the full support of the international community. >> now, secretary kerry has said in the past, if we reject the

iran nuclear agreement, it will weaken the u.s. dollar and force our allies to lose confidence in the united states.sg6ia meantime, iran's clerical body of experts held their biannual meeting yesterday. the kparm of tchairman said the support the deal but does not change the policy toward the u.s. the u.s. remans iran's number one enemy, he added. kerry's speech begins at 11:00 and we'll have it for you live on nbc 10 news at 11:00. in the digital operations center, tracy davidson, nbc 10 news. 4:06 now. this morning, a wrestling legend is charged with murder in a decades old case and his camden county neighbors are reacting to his arrest. yesterday, pleets arrested jimmy "superfly" snuka for the murder of his girlfriend in 1983. investigators say at an allentown area motel, snuka repeatedly beat nancy argentino and left her to die. a grand jury recommended charges of third degree murder and

manslaughter against the now 72-year-old who lives in atco. >> i can't imagine it. he's been a nice guy since i've known him. >> he was one of the world wrestling federation's biggest stars in the 1980s. in 2012, he wrote about his girlfriend's death saying he never hit her and is isn't. the gloucester county man accused of opening a little girl's window and taking a fphoo is now behind bars. gregory scott was arrested yesterday, he's 27 years old. neighbors say he lives with a woman and young child but they know little about his background. >> a lot of my friends and neighbors recognized him. i had no idea who he was. >> knowing there was somebody that close, that scares me. >> investigators say scott told the little girl that he's a doctor and snapped a photo of

her and promised to come back every night if she wouldn't tell her mother. this morning he faces child luring and burglary charges. 4:08 now. happening today, call this a lesson in generosity 101. camden students and teachers will be getting quite the jump start on the new school year because of this. nbc 10's katy zachry is live in camden to explain. katy? >> reporter: there's really exciting news coming out of camden this morning. later on we'll learn more about a group of philanthropists that will be donating six figures to camden schools. the money will go toward buying things like ipads, tablets, musical instruments and classroom furniture for learning disabled students. teachers, any teachers in the camden school district can list their classroom projects they have planned and items they need which most are too expensive for the district to buy. their family and friends and anyone really can donate online to the project and starting next

breaking news from overnight, asian stocks are swinging between gains and losses. that volatility could make for another rough day on wall street today. tokyo stocks closed lower as investors remained wary of china's economic problems. that's in spite of expectations that global finance chiefs will act to reassure markets this week. the gloomy economic data from china led to yesterday's sell-off on wall street after pl plunging more than 300 points since opening. 4:15. we are tracking a developing story out of illinois where a manhunt continues now for three men who killed a police officer yesterday. the men shot and killed lieutenant charles joseph

gliniewicz during a police chase yesterday morning. he was chasing the guys on foot. helicopters and dozens of officers on the ground are searching the fox lake area, about 60 miles north of chicago. >> everyone knew him as g.i. joe. he was deeply committed to the community. >> he was a 32-year veteran of law enforcement. in fact he was going to retire this month but his chief asked him to stay on for another month. he leaves behind a wife and four children. today in baltimore, pretrial hearings began in the case against the six police officers accused in the death of freddie gray. a judge will hear several arguments in the case, one of them a motion to dismiss charges. another is the debate on whether the officers should be tried together or separately. the defense want to removeç th baltimore states attorney from the case. >> strategy here has been here from the beginning. the police would like to remove miss mosby and her assistants

and they'd like to take the case outside of baltimore. >> next week a judge will hear arguments on that motion, the one to move the trial out of the city. alison parker, the reporter shot to death on live television in virginia last week, a vigil will be held at 6:45 this morning on the university's campus. that's the time the murder happened. parker graduated as a media arts and design major in 2012. her family has created a scholarship in her memory. funeral services for cameraman adam ward were held in roanoke yesterday morning. more than 500 people came. ward's brother and sister spoke on behalf of their parents. his burial was held privately. ward and parker were gunned down by a former co-worker one week ago today. vicki gardner, a chamber of commerce official there in virginia was wounded in the attack. >> thank you for all of your love and support. >> and kindness during this difficult time.

>> the tv station those journalists worked for produced this video and posted it to facebook. wdbj thanked everyone for their support in the wake of the shooting. several bike riders in roanoke showed their support for the station. the city tweeted this picture. the route the bikers took forms a heart and you see a number 7 inside the heart. pretty cool. target is set to slash nearly 300 jobs right now. most of those cuts are coming from the technology sector. the cuts are primarily from locations in minnesota. this is the third round of layoffs for tarring net year. a fire hazard has prompted the recall of 3,200 of these wall chargers sold exclusively at charlotte russe stores. there is one report of one of the chargers catching fire. if you have one, stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer to are a full

refund. a dramatic moment caught on camera when a construction worker was too close to a steam pipe explosion. this video is pretty shocking. we have to warn you. now, that worker did survive but was badly injured. the county released the video in its fight with the construction company. the county says this video proves there's a breakdown in safety design. the construction company says the county is trying to divert attention from its own mismanagement of the project which will not be complete on time. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> fog to start with but just like yesterday, the fog will disappear as the day goes on. no fog in this view looking across the delaware. that's a live view from the adventure aquarium. temperatures in the 70s. under clear skies and with very little wind, that's why we're

seeing the fog develop this morning. the flags are at rest atop the aramark building. krogh c you can see the fog hanging in the area this morning. temperatures have cooled into the 60s, wrightstown 68, 65 in chester springs. satellite shows clouds to the south. it looks encouraging for rainfall but those look impressive from the satellite imagery, radar is completely clear there. but over the next couple days, some chances0for some isolated showers during the afternoon, by 7:00 this evening, those showers are out of the picture. clear skies tonight. we can see fog in the morning. again, an isolated shower is possible during the day on thursday. really a better chance we'll see scattered showers and thunderstorms coming into the area friday afternoon. until then, another hot and humid day today. with afternoon temperatures into the 90s. but there is relief on the horizon. got the seven-day forecast, chris, coming up in the next

nbc 10 news starts now. right now, the search is on for several gunmen after nearly two dozen shots were fired along a busy west philadelphia street. one person is dead, another wounded in overnight violence. >> plenty of excitement but also some concern as we prepare for the pope's arrival. today we are expected to learn what economic impacts could be in store for philadelphia hotels and businesses. >> we're off to a foggy start but temperatures once again will be warming into the 90s today. we still haven't seen the
