morning already. it is not as humid but it's still warm outside. 77 degrees in philadelphia. allentown at 68. 68 millville. warm temperatures and less humidity and not seeing the fog we saw yesterday. a nice clear view across on the delaware and and a quick warm-up. up to 90 by lunch time today and still climbing. good news is this is going to be the last of our heat wave. we will go through the neighborhood-by-neighborhood forecast when i'm back in ten minute. on the vine street expressway right around 24th street and just off in the dance right around this area off of the exit ramp watch out for ongoing construction. not blocking off any lanes. just off of the exit ramp. if you're headed in either direction, have you no problems. a three-minute drive time from 95 to the schuylkill expressway. as for the rest of our drive times, 95 southbound from wood

from the secret service. the bright red area is for ticket holders only. stretching to 20th street. the ticketed area stretches for blocks around the parkway from the museum to 20th. until now, it's been assumed anyone could show up on the parkway to get a decent look at the pope. a teacher from iowa is bringing 50 students to see the pope. >> a pretty good chance we are going to be so far removed from the area that the pope is saying mass it's questionable for us to make this pilgrimage. >> this is a view what the parkway looks like from the parkway and 20th. there will be jumbotrons set up. the tickets will be handed out by hundreds of local parishes but not everyone will get one. federal government, st. margin retroonly has 134 tickets to spread among a thousand families in the parrish. we are now just 23 days away from the pope's visit to philadelphia. secret service also released

a list of things you won't be allowed to bring if you're coming to to see the pope and run those down at 4:30 this morning. now in a story you will only see on 10. a delaware county woman is facing charges after police say she stole nearly $90,000 from a friend and next door neighbor who she was supposed to be caring for. melissa deal is accused of taking that money from james mooney's life savings. she's a nurse who had power of attorney of mover mooney and to money would you the aston family without knowing. >> i want you to know, i'll forgive you but never forget how you treated my family. >> the district attorney launched an investigation into deal after someone sent an anonymous tip. investigators say she used the

stolen money for bills and two trips to disney world. prosecutors say a former student accused of distributing nude pictures of his classmates bragged about it in his yearbook. police charge 18-year-old brandon berlin after she say he shared nude pictures of current and former students at a high school in montgomery county and stored the stories in a drop box and the name of the file was i probably had your picks and that same phrase was his senior quote in the yearbook. berlin has since graduate. it is back to school time of the year. a new look at camden community charter school. the school is split into two state-of-the-art buildings and a gym. the school is adding seventh grade and 700 students start there next tuesday. being adults are finishing degrees they didn't get a chance to complete years ago.

matt delucia checked in with a group that helps adults complete their education. matt, tell us more. >> they are hoping to be a bit of inspiration to students who are in school right now. i'm not talking about toddlers or teenagers here. these are adults. graduate philadelphia is a group that has been working with people who left college for whatever the reason and now, years later, want to finish their degree. the group estimates there are 70,000 adults in philadelphia who left school and when you widen that out to the entire region, that number jumps to 300,000. a lot of people who could not graduate. one of them is lacountas ingram who left in part because she got cancer. now she beat cancer and wants to get back. >> i knew i would get back. i didn't know it was going to be 20 years later but i knew i would be get back. >> sometimes they say it's time

and time to get back to school. >> they are 2,500 people they are helping right now. they want the young kids not to take college lightly and it's important to graduate and get a degree. the message to adults if you left school whatever the reason you can still go back and finish that degree and change your life. we will hear from a woman who went from a street cop in philadelphia to leading one of the busiest police departments in our school all because she went back to school and tried to finish that degree. matt delucia, nbc10 news. 4:07. tonight, the eagles take on the jets in their final preseason game. for some players it is one last time to shine before the final cut. vai sikahema is live in our digital operation center. a lot of players are still fighting for a spot on the roster. tell us more. >> jobs are on the line and this is coming right down, you know,

clear in for a sunny day today and you'll need the sunglasses. a little light fog has formed in mt. holly and visibility down to 2 1/2 miles there. satellite in the clear for cape may, atlantic city and vineland and no clouds over dover. scattered clouds to the north and no rain with those clouds and no rain threatening us until we get to tomorrow and we do need the rainfall. today, 89 degrees in camelback. look at the 90s for fleetwood. a hot afternoon. not as humid as what we saw yesterday. new hope and bordertown all well into the 90s. along the coast in the 80s and close to 90 for avalon and milford and smyrna warming into the 90s this afternoon and humidity will be lower as we peak into the middle 90s for philadelphia, and berlin. newark 92 this afternoon. a look at the weekend forecast when i'm back in ten.

let's check the road for you. jessica boyington is watching that for you. >> we are on the boulevard right now right around fox street where it's empty. you can see all lanes open, no construction projects to worry about if you had to head to the schuylkill expressway on the southbound side you'll do just fine, northbound doing the same. drive times are down. the p.a. turnpike everything green so far. westbound, eastbound, 23 minutes from valley forge up towards route 1 but the accident popped up less than ten minutes ago in upper merion. schuylkill expressway expressway westbound ramp on 202 a accident blocking out a lane. the fight over gay marriage could come to a head in court later today. we will preview the legal showdown involve a kentucky county clerk who refuse to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. it may have been no accident. we will tell you what investigators are now saying

4:14. breaking news we brought you yesterday morning, anjocx updat. investigators think a house fire at the jersey shore that killed a couple and two children may ab case of murder/suicide. the investigators say the fire ignited in more than one spot inside the house. and it does not appear to be accidental. a couple and their two children, hospital where they died. prosecutors say some of their injuries did not appear to be related to the fire. happening today in a kentucky courtroom, a county clerk faces a hearing on

possible contempt of court charges as she continues to refuse to issue marriage licenses in a battle over same-sex couples. >> why? >> because. >> kim davis refuses to issue marriage licenses to anyone, gay or straight, after supreme court legalized same-sex marriage. she is asking a judge to grant an order which would free her of issuing those licenses citing her freedom of religion. police are intensifying their search for three men wanted in the killing of an illinois police officer. dozens of armed officers, canine units and descended on a field after suspicious activity. this is five miles north of fox lake where the officer was killed on tuesday morning. all six baltimore police officers charged in connection with freddie gray's death will be tried separately. yesterday, a judge denied the state's motion to try three of the officers as a group. he also denied a motion to dismiss the charges against the

six officers. all of the officers have pleaded not guilty. freddie gray was arrested in baltimore almost five months ago and put into the back of a van to be transported to jail. he died a week later. autopsy results show he suffered a spinal injury while he was in custody. outside the courthouse yesterday, dozens of demonstrators took turn on the bull horn expressing their concerns about the case. gray's death sparked protesters and riots. dates for the new individual trials have not yet been set. new information about two police officers accused of killing a man in trenton. yesterday, the new jersey attorney general's office released a statement saying the use of force by the officers was justified and they won't face charges. officers shot and killed eric mcneill outside of a home on hobbart avenue when the officers were respond to go a domestic violence call. officers say mcneill was on the

porch and started shooting at them. at one point they say he was on the porch shooting. leaders in philadelphia plan to introduce a bill that would prevent an officer's name being released to the public if that officer was involved in a shooting. we told you all about this yesterday. the president of the city fra fer fraternal announced it yesterday. excepting cases where the officer is charged with a crime. >> as americans we know all of our citizens, including our police, are protected by the constitution rights to due process. not to have their fate determined by the media or a mob with a political agenda. they, and their families, have a right to security. >> the bill will be announced tomorrow. happening today, people will pay respects to a fallen philadelphia police officer. family members are holding a

viewing for sergeant rafael ali who died after losing control of his pickup truck and slammed into a tree in roxborough. today funerals are in philadelphia and a second viewing will be held tomorrow. it's 4:18. 23 days away from the papal visit and some business owners say they are not prepared because they don't have enough information yet. a survey was released yesterday by philadelphia's control. only 68 of the 250 sent out were returned. the majority of who responded were very optimistic about the visit. 14% say the city provided enough details -- did not provide enough details to allow their businesses to plan properly. 4:18. temperatures running a little bit warmer this morning. that is actually helping us keep fog-free this morning over

center city. it's a live view. the winds have died down like yesterday morning but the humidity is significantly lower. completely clear at the shore. you'll see shine and back into the 80s. upper 80s for cape may during the day today. right now, most of the area is warmer than yesterday up by three in allentown and four degrees warmer in millville where it's a little bit cooler. mt. holly and millville we will be watching for fog forming and extra cool air is producing fog in interior new jersey right now. the rest of the area is looking mainly fog-free and stay that way the next couple of hours. a few scattered cloud to the norm and see sunshine so any fog that develops this morning will disappear. cloud to the west. those could bring us much-needed rainfall.

what we are seeing is everything is pretty clear. watch out for a small accident scene in upper merion on the schuylkill westbound ramp and not even on the schuylkill but the ramp route 202 and watch out for that. 95 around girard avenue great drive times here. 13 minutes heading southbound from wood haven road to the vine street sprevert a street expressway. southbound and northbound no problems. blue route take a fly down there. you can see all of the cars are green. they are moving. 18 minutes. actually added to about three minutes the normal drive time and typically 15 or so but everything is still moving. southbound from the schuylkill up to the 95 a 14 minute trip and next ten minutes i'll collect in with new jersey roads. a judge's ruling paves the way for a france gender woman to have reassignment surgery and you'll hear what the woman had to say about the court order that will allow her to move forward in this transgender dispute. amazon dash. tell you what they are now doing

atlantic city the coast guard rescued people on two broken down boats that started taking on water. both incidents happened yesterday near the inlet following the ac air show. this is one of the boats that stopped running and drifting toward a jetty. crews used ropes to tow it to land. the coast guard also brought a second boat to shore a short time later. a bucks county judge has

cleared the way for a transgender woman to undergo reassignment surgery. they say she has a clear understanding of the procedure. her parents tried to block the operation saying she is unfit to make that stidecision. >> i'm not surprised because i know this is right. i mean, it's just right! >> christine has already been through 16 months of pre-op preparation and has received clearances for mental health professionals. activists say it is a victor for transgender rights. these baskets are being recalled. recalling hundreds of stands as well. regulators say both failed to meet standards and they could injure babies by tipping over. no child has been hurt. if you have an amazon prime account, reordering essential items is now as easy as pushing a button.
