4:17 pm
we have mostly cloudy skies now, peeks of sunshine, that puts the temperature into the 80s. 82, 12 degrees warmer than this time yesterday. still an east wind visible, but it's going down, clouds again late tonight. upper 70s, to the low 80s across the area. the average high for this time of year is only 73. so we're way above that today and going to be way above that tomorrow, as well. some isolated showers around the area with this warmth and humidity. they are light, as you can see, moving south to north. there's more activity back to the west, and this is what is going to increase and give us round one of the heavier rain. as we go through the evening, you can see again just the isolated showers, it stays pretty warm, and it also stays very humid. overnight and into tomorrow morning, could be a couple of sprinkles by tomorrow morning, but it's mostly fog and drizzle
4:18 pm
kind of issue. then during the day, back into the 80s with just a little bit of sunshine, some showers increasing during the afternoon, and then especially at night. we're really going to get some heavy rain. look at this, yellows and reds developing as we go through the night, especially later tomorrow night. look at all of that heavy rain from philadelphia, all the way up to the poconos, and then as we go into wednesday morning, we still have some of that. we now had 15 straight dry days, so we need rain, but we don't need that much rain. there we are 6:00 a.m. on wednesday, and that system is tapering off. that's not the end of the rain for the week. here's a tropical depression that could develop into tropical storm joaquin with the next day or so. not moving very much, not much of a storm now. but there are indications that

it could become a tropical storm, and if it does, it's going to get closer and closer to the east coast of the united states and have a certain amount of potential to actually hit the east coast. so we're going to be focusing on this particular storm, because it's a gigantic area of high pressure up in eastern canada. that's the block that may prevent this from going out to sea, and so it starts going out and then maybe forced to make a left turn. and that would force the storm to make land fall, creating some really heavy rain. but the question, of course, is still very early, where would that turn take place, where would it effect, but it is likely to significantly affect a portion of the east coast later on this week and into the weekend. in the meantime, that onshore wind that is going to be developing, that is going to increase, as well, there will be issues with coastal flooding and
4:20 pm
beach erosion, even if the storm doesn't come straight up at us. and how much rain? different computer models are saying different things, but generally indicating some places are going to get a lot. this is just by wednesday morning, we've got one model going up seven inches of rain in northern portions of our area. isolated showers this evening, then fog late. temperature 67 degrees for the low. during the day tomorrow, warm and humid, we have some showers around, but as you saw, it's going to be heavier at night, high temperature into the low 80s. then that's it for the warm weather. cooler on wednesday, leftover rain, then the wind starts to increase, especially at the shore. some of that rain comes in, potentially very heavy later on in the week and early in the weekend. >> all right, glenn. a new test is helping women with breast cancer skip chemotherapy but still beat the disease. >> ahead, the change that could give women a new option in the
