a violent robbery leaves a southwest philly business owner in critical condition. >> police are trying to track down the man they say stabbed the victim 20 times. drew smith is live outside the auto tag business at 63rd and dix avenue. drew? >> right now, police are searching for any other surveillance video that may show where this man in his mid-20s ran to after he left this business around 6:00. you can see crime scene unit workers are still out here processing the scene. the man only spent two minutes in the auto tag business, where he robbed and repeatedly stabbed the owner.

1234 it's pretty brutal. >> neighbors gathered around the southwest auto tag shop, watching police gather evidence. the owner was the only person inside tonight 1234 i knew him personally. >> it was five minutes before closing when the robber came inside. >> a lot of overturned chairs. >> the victim managed to call 911, the robber ran away and locked the drawer, so they had to kick it in. inside they found the unconscious owner with 20 stab wounds to the head, arm, shoulder and chest. >> trying to make a few dollars. and survived. 6789 police are already reviewing video which shows their suspect. had is a busy intersection. investigators are looking for

pension reform is necessary. >> if we balance the budget this year, we're looking at a $2 billion deficit next year, online gaming is not going to be the payoff you expect. >> a natural gas tax. and raising personal income tax a half a percent. the debate on all of it, now 100 days over due. >> almost everybody thinks that washington is dysfunctional, i suppose we have some of that here in pennsylvania. >> and this may not be as simple as passing a budget for things like online gaming, lawmakers may have to pass other legislation first before they get to the big one. lauren mayk, nbc10 news. prosecutors are expected to wrap up their case tomorrow in the center city philadelphia building collapse trial. on the stand today was the one man who's admitted playing a

part in the deadly accident. sean testified for prosecutors today, he's already pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. he was the heavy machine operator working on the demolition site. six people were killed and more than a dozen hurt when a brick wall fell on to the salvation army store two years ago. his construction company was in charge of the demolition. he said today he knew the wall was dangerous, he said, when i saw the building like that, i should have walked away, i had my family to feed and i had bills to pay. he faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced next month. police say revenge is the motive behind a deadly home invasion in montgomery county. authorities arrested ali and smith today. ali wanted revenge after his ex-girlfriend refused to take him back.

investigators say the two shot 53-year-old kevin brown as he was trying to escape from his lower moreland township home. the 18-year-old ex-girlfriend was home at the time. but was able to hide with her infant sun. investigators say what ali told her is proof that this was an act of vengeance. >> he told her he wanted another chance, she refused. he told her, if we can't be together, someone's got to go. >> ali and smith are now charged with second degree murder. a new decision in a dune battle playing out on the beaches of margate. new jersey went to court today to seize 87 properties through eminant domain. the state wants to widen the beaches and build protected sand dunes after super storm sandy. residents are opposed to that plan. a busy scene out in

chinatown tonight. the night market near race and 10th street. everyone taking advantage of the mild early fall temperatures. >> things are going to change. let's get the latest on what you'll wake up to. >> we are going to see changes as we go into tomorrow. we have rain heading in this direction, still pretty far off to our north and west, but by tomorrow afternoon especially. you'll need the umbrellas. still a warm day, here's future weather, the rain is going to be part of a cold front swinging through. especially for the evening commute you'll want to make sure you take time on the roadways. after this moves through, we'll see a big drop in temperatures for the weekend. philadelphia area even along the poconos and the shore. we expect to stay mostly dry in the morning. most of the shower activity won't be here until about the p.m. commute. the evening commute by about 5:00 p.m., we could be near 80 degrees in philadelphia, mid-60s in the poconos. mid-70s along the shore.

but used the same syringe on 67 workers, they're all being tested for hiv and hepatitis. the nurse is barred from practicing pending a further ruling from the board of nursing. mens and women's restrooms could start disappearing in philadelphia. city council voted to require gender neutral bathrooms in the city. the ordinance only applies to single stall restrooms. mayor nutter is expected to sign the bill into law. the change will help protect transgender people from violence. temperatures about to take a dip. but first rain, when storms will roll through. a hero for stopping a terrorist attack. what happened in this video that put his life on the line. delaware famed punkin chunkin cancelled for the second straight year.

stopping a french train attack is recovering tonight after being stabbed in his hometown. spencer stone is in serious condition with three stab wounds. he was out with four friends when a fight started in a bar in sacramento. police say alcohol fueled the fight late last night. they're looking for two men who took off in a camry. >> that's how things sounded inside kosovo's parliament building today. whistles and tear gas. opposition leaders useded tear gas to protest against a european union agreement brokered with syria. we don't know who the speaker of the house is going to be. a surprise move from the man expected to win the job. kevin mccarthy with drew his candidacy this afternoon. >> we have been talking -- i've

commute, that's when we'll have rain around. it's going to be warm tomorrow, it will be warm and breezy, temperatures will be close to 780 degrees before the rain moves in, once it gets here, we're going to quickly cool down. we cool down into the weekend, we're talking about high temperatures in the mid-60s. now, the average high this time of year is 69 degrees, if you notice over the past week, the average high is getting a little lower. today we were in the mid 70s, tomorrow we could be near 80 degrees, look what happens between tomorrow and saturday. we're going to have close to a 15 degree drop in temperatures, you're going to notice that change going into the weekend. it will be feeling like fall. for tomorrow, when you wake up in the morning, we'll see the clouds around, we're not going to have that widespread morning rain for your morning commute. by noon mid-70s and by the afternoon commute by 5:00 p.m., we'll have the best chance of any showers and the chance of thunderstorms around too. right now, we're dry, we have the clouds moving in, and we'll see the clouds moving in for the morning. the rain is up to our 2340r7b8g

and west, and back around chicago. it's all part of a cold front, once it does move through and clear out, that's when temperatures will start to drop. in the meantime, though, we'll stay mild, increasing clouds overnight, this is future weather here, by 9:00 tomorrow morning, you'll see the clouds around -- we can't rule out a couple spotty showers in the morning. most of us will be dry. 3:00 p.m., the model is pretty consistent about showing showers already, parts of the lehigh valley, around the poconos, closer to philadelphia by the evening commute, i would say between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. is our best chance for showers around philadelphia, and the major interstates, getting closer to the shore by 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. we start to clear out tomorrow night. if you have friday night plans, i think there's a good chance all the rain should be clearing out by then. saturday looks good, sunny, cooler temperatures across the entire weekend, even as we go into sunday. so this is perfect football weather for the eagles sunday.

so if you're tailgating, upper 50s, breezy and cool, for kickoff, low 60s, fourth quarter mid-60s. the sun is going to stay in the forecast too. upper 50s philadelphia, mid-50s in new jersey. mostly cloudy skies, tomorrow that's when you want your umbrella, mostly in the afternoon, warm breezy day temperatures mostly in the upper 70s, showers will mostly be around the evening commute hours. take it slower on the roadway, saturday and sunday we cool in the mid-60s, nice weather for the eagles. we go into next week, we're in the 70s, we're going to have another drop in temperatures by the middle of the week, we'll be back into the upper 60s by next wednesday. i think everyone's really keeping an eye on the weekend. yes, we have rain in the forecast tomorrow, the good news, whether oar not you want the cool weather, at least it's going to be dry weather. >> close to 80 tomorrow, it looks like i need to get outside and enjoy that, before it drops
