larry donnell caught the winning touchdown at the back of the end zone in the waning seconds. 1 of 6 catches he had tonight. all three are with michelle. >> michelle: bob, that. eli, you. entered that last drive without reuben randle knowing that odell beckham jr. was hobbled. very few options for you. how did you keep it together? >> we just put it together. larry down there, we got in the green zone. odell came in for a special play. had the pass interference, then we hit larry on post down the seam. thought we worked on a big target. great catch. a big win today. proud of the guys the way we fought and came out and got that two-minute drive to go win the game. >> michelle: you talked to me before the game about finishing games and not relinquishing fourth quarter leads. >> this is special because we had an opportunity to win games early in the season.

we had some two-minute opportunities and we weren't able to come there but today we came through. i think it is big for the offense, young guys playing the offensive line, coaches, everybody to get that win, knowing we can get back to winning those types of games. that's a fun atmosphere and a fun crowd and a big win for giants. >> michelle: 41 completions. a giants single game record. how's your arm feeling? >> feels good. guys were getting open. offensive line was protected. it was a fun day. great weather. fun day to throw the football and proud of the guys the way we competed. >> michelle: thanks, eli. odell beckham jr. you scored is early, then you ran off hobbled. but you came back in during that final drive. what was the plan there? what could you do? >> the plan was win the game. this is a pretty big win for us. we were able to put a full game together and be able to finish strong. it says a lot about this team.

here, odell beckham jr. emotional. what's this all about? >> we started off a little shaky. feels good to get a win. we came through in the end and won and that feels sensational. >> michelle: congratulations. bob ok >> bob: tunony dungy, in the standings, wins and loses may all look the same but they don't feel the same. how big a victory was this for the giants? tony: this puts them in first place in the division. but i was out at practice yesterday and this is starting to be a group that is getting some confidence and the reason they have confidence is because of eli manning. i believe they're going to win the nfc east because i think they have the best quarterback play in the division right now and to keep things close. coach coughlin said they're still a work in progress but if they can keep games close, they

a south jersey fire department is in mourning tonight after losing one of its of own. the 79-year-old victim died after his lawn mower exploded in to flames. good evening. i'm denise nakano. the victim was an emergency management coordinator and even taught at the burlington county fire academy. nbc 10's doug shimell tells us the investigation in to what happened is just getting started. >> it's very sad. it's very eye opening. >> reporter: no one could believe what they had heard about 79-year-old are roger

lippincott. >> it is shocking. very shocking. roger lippincott was a fixture in this town. >> reporter: the fire crews that responded realized one of their own was gone. >> obviously there was a fire. the cause and other circumstances are under investigation. >> reporter: the black bunting went up at the springfield fire company where roger lippincott was a life-long member. >> it's hard. you work with these guys. these things are never easy for anybody to go through. >> sounds like it was a freak accident. >> reporter: the thomass say the accident has made everyone pause. >> this guy hopped on a lawn mower and something like that happened. i have a lawn mower out back. you just never know. >> reporter: they want to know what happened, but finding the cause doesn't help the healing. >> he's going to be dearly missed for everything he's done

for us. >> reporter: in burlington county, doug shimell, nbc 10 news. an investigation is underway after a body was found in burlington county. police in pem ber ston on the say the remains of a male were found in a clothing bin. officers vinl found the victim at an outside pen along pemberton browns mills road. so far police aren't saying how the person may have died. the archdiocese of philadelphia is closing a bucks county church. saint joseph the worker church in falls township will permanently shut its doors next month. the church merged with another parish last year but it served as a worship site since then. they cited high maintenance and repair costs of more than $1 million. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. it's a cool fall night for running errands but it is not as

chilly as last night. the workweek is going to get started off nicely. nbc 10 first alert meteorologist brittney shipp is here with what you can expect in the morning. >> clear skies, not as cold as last night. no frost advisories for us. in to tomorrow, we'll see a lot of sunshine. here's a look at the wakeup temperatures. on the cold side with temperatures dropping to the high 40s from philadelphia. the mid-40s for the lehigh valley. when you get up 8 a.m. in the 40s for most of the area even to the poconos. you definitely need a jacket. as we head to the afternoon, look at the temperatures push in to the 70s. we will warm with above average. temperatures ranging between 72 and 75 degrees. sunny and mild for us. that's going to be the peak in our temperatures. we will see a gradual cooling friend to next week. the headlines are a nice start to the week. tracking showers in to tuesday and i'm also saying tracking mild conditions. i will go over the details

general election is november 3rd. don't look for a cost of living increase next year if you are on social security. you can blame it on gas prices. this is just the third time in 40 years there will be no increase in benefits. the annual cost of living adjustment is tied to inflation and inflation is so low this year that a benefit increase for next year is not expected to happen. gas prices are used as an indicator of inflation for the government. those gas prices are low in the area. aaa says drivers in every state are paying less than $3 a gallon for the first time since 2009. in the philadelphia area, drivers are paying $2.32 a gallon for regular. delaware drivers 2.21 and still cheapest in new jersey at 1.93. ♪ tomorrow is columbus day but today was the time to celebrate
