shipp with the latest. mpblts it will . it's going to be a pretty cold monday morning. we'll be four to seven degrees colder than last night. and last night it was very cold as well. temperatures are expected to drop below freezing for philadelphia. down to the 20s in pottstown. near freezing in dover, 31 degrees. into the low 20s for the pocanos. a closer look at the radar shot, we saw a few light flurries move through. of course none of this is sticking with temperatures too warm at the surface, but we'll continue to see a slight chance for a few light stray showers. for the most part, we'll stay mainly dry and start to see clouds decreasing into tonight. by 8:00 p.m., temperatures at 45 degrees. 43 by 11:00 p.m. coming up, i'm tracking a colder

monday morning, chilly eagles and the cold blast short lived. i'll let you know when i warm things up in my forecast. thank you, brittney. new castle county police are on the hunt for a suspect who barrelled into a fleet of vehicles causing more than $100,000 in damage. randy gyllenhaal is here with the latest. >> reporter: this suspect slammed into the back of two vehicles at 2 whether 307b in the morning. he hit the suv, ruined the two cars and barely missed the house where he was overnight.

they saw the struck driver peeling away, speeding away leaving behind the $100,000-plus in damage. witnesses believe this guy was clearly drunk, but police are looking for him driving a ford f-250 with some serious front-end damage. >> we heard a loud bang. it sounded like an explosion almost. >> reporter: you walked outside and what did you see? t >> disaster in my driveway. >> reporter: dan runs a plumbing company called honesty services plumbing. they are offering a $1,000 reward. more than that, they just want people to see the impact and damage that can happen when a drunk driver hits the road near in newark. randy gyllenhaal, "nbc 10 news." crews battled a fire in strawberry mansion this afternoon. this was the scene on north marston street. multiple homes were affected and it took several hours to get the home under control. some people were taken to the

hospital with their conditions not known. and an arson investigation is underway in delaware. fire officials say three fires were set at the park place trailer park off route 7 in wilmington. one trailer was destroyed and the other two had moderate fire damage. the damage is estimated at $40,000. no injuries were reported and no suspects are in custody. at least two people have been killed and 16,000 people have been displaced as a powerful typhoon moves through the northeastern philippines today. typhoon koppu dumped heavy rains and winds up to 90 miles per hour. there's high pressure in the north and another typhoon in the northwest pacific. police are looking for the gunman in a deadly shooting and a zombie street-themed party took place last night in florida.

20-year-old xavia trk tyrell wa shot. this is what they posted from zombicon, we are deeply saddened by the news of what happened within the footprint of our event. we take the safety of our patrons seriously. our prayers go out to the family members and individuals involved in the incident. a 2-year-old boy was found wandering barefoot about philadelphia's love park. police say the toddler's parents called to report him missing shortly after he was discovered. they say the parents were sleeping in love park after being kicked out of their home friday night. police say the child wandered off. someone noticed him alone and barefoot and flagged down nearby septa police officers. there's no word tonight on charges in the case. another catholic church is

closing in philadelphia. today the archdiocese announced that st. mary of assumption church in manioc will no longer serve as a worship site and close. st. mary of the assumption merged with st. john bparish bak in 2012. fighting the stigma of hiv. that's what almost 15,000 runners in center is city were doing today as they raised money for the aids fund. the 29th annual aids walk also included a little zumba. the event raises awareness and money for the prevention and care of hiv and aids in the greater philadelphia region. the aids fund says 30,000 people in our area are living with aids and that many are often judged and misunderstood. coming up next on ""nbc 10

an early morning fire demolishes part of a country club. 100 firefighters were spotted early at the lulu country club. andrea thomas gives us a closer look at the damage. >> i have never seen a fire in person that strong before. >> reporter: the alarms were going off at the lulu country club. when this man arrived, he had to get out his cell phone to take

video of the enormous flames. >> it just seemed to be spreading from left to right from the center. >>er t eereporter: the fire sta this morning. first the firefighters had to find a hydrant but the closest one was 1500 feet down the road. and water on this would only last a couple minutes. >> we tapped into three hydrant systems to have enough water to fight the fire. so we had several thousand feet of hose coming from all different directions. >> reporter: the construction of the clubhouse didn't make things easier. built in the 1920s it has a heavy timber roof and open fire plan. by the time the flames reached the ballroom, the flames spread quickly. >> i was here yesterday. so -- to see it like this is really a shocker. >> reporter: members and staff looked on as firefighters spent hours battling the hot spots. the clubhouse is a total loss.

good evening. our temperatures as we head into tonight will actually be colder than what we saw last night. so this is really going to be the coldest air of the season. as we take a closer look at headlines, we'll see a chilly eagles game. we'll see warm temperatures as soon as tuesday, though. right now looking outside we'll see mostly cloudy skies. we'll start to see the clouds decreasing heading into the rest of tonight. about three minutes ago we saw a few little snow flurries flying on our camera here. that was situated in camden. so nothing is really accumulating. everything is melting off. so we have really cold air aloft to give us the snow flurries throughout parts of town. for philadelphia, we're at 47 degrees right now. we're seeing a few clouds. our humidity is at 54%. the feels like temperature is 41 because our wind speeds are out of the west at 13 miles per hour. so we have the cold air coming

in. it's a really cold day for us, especially compared to where we have been the last couple of days. currently at 32 degrees in the pocanos. 33 in atlantic city. 41 in wildwood. temperatures in dover at 43 degrees. and tonight we're going to get down 4 to 7 degrees colder than what we saw yesterday. so well below our average. our feels like temperatures already in the 30s for allentown, parts of reading and dover. it will be a cold night ahead. and again, the coldest air of the season will be sitting right over us heading into tonight. and linger into monday. but one thing you'll notice is all the cold air quickly goes back to the north. cold air is going to make its return heading into tuesday and wednesday. so mild conditions are expected for us as we head into your seven-day forecast. the cold blast is here. it's not going to stick around. our average for this time of the year is 66. today we saw highs officially at 53. heading into tomorrow, 51 will be the high. so we will stay well below the average. so take a look at tuesday. we'll warm right back above average. so that's going to be good. we just have to get through

tomorrow. but tonight is going to be the coldest night of the season. freeze warning in effect for most of the area. that starts at midnight. that's going to continue all the way until 9:00 a.m. on monday. so a very cold commute on tap for you. our satellite radar shot shows a few little scattered showers moving in. and some of this is snow flurries coming in from the northwest. as we head into the next hour or so, we'll continue to see a chance of those really light sprinkles. but by 8:00 to 9:00, you will notice everything starts to clear up. we'll see clearing skies to give way to lots of sunshine heading into monday. that's going to set us up for a dry monday night football game. it's still going to be very cold. as we wake up tomorrow around 7:00 a.m., the feels like temperature in philadelphia, 27 degrees. 24 in allentown. and then as the lunchtime rolls around, temperatures will feel more like the mid-40s. so even colder tonight. we drop down to 31 for philadelphia tonight. 27 in pottstown. 25 in allentown. down to 29 in mount holly and our highs will be in the main to

a long time coming. they are number 22 in the a.p. poll and 24 in the coaches poll. this is huge for the program. to start getting that national recognition for the job that matt role is doing. temple matching the best start in school history. they are 6-0 after beating central florida. and matt rule today says he'll be even happier if they are ranked at the end of the year. >> i think it's nice that there's some national recognition. people are respecting temple and the way our guys play and who we have played. in the long run, we have to make it mean something by winning and being in the top 25 at the end of the year. it's very exciting for our fans and our family and friends. i think within this building, it's just recognition and we are focused on what is next. how about one of the wildest college football endings you'll ever see? blake o'neal bobbles the snap, turns the ball over to allow michigan state to score the

and brittney is back with a final look at the forecast. it's really cold out there. >> it is cold and it will be that way into monday morning. it will be very cold in the bus stop or for the monday morning commute. we'll see temperatures in the 50s. a cold monday night eagles game. then take a look at tuesday, warmer again. so this cold blast is going to be short lived. it will all be over on tuesday. and by wednesday we're back to the 70s. and we stay there for a few days next week. so really not a bad seven-day forecast that just is going to be pretty low tonight with our temperatures. >> the nice midweek warm up there. thank you. that's "nbc 10 news" for now. for brittney, john and i, we'll see you tonight after the game.
