. we begin with new information in the mysterious death of this 3-year-old boy. sources tell nbc 10 a relative recently appeared before a grand jury. stopping sexting at school. officials will talk about the dangers of that. as we take a live look at center city towards the art museum there, dry outside now. we are tracking showers moving into this area later this morning. just ahead, when you can expect them and a cooler change coming for the week. good morning, welcome to nbc 10.

we are following breaking news at a recycling plan. let's go to bill henley with his first alert forecast. >> close to normal this time of year. the temperatures are running up to 10 degrees cooler. clouds just moved into the heir area. you can see harrisburg starting to see a few showers. temperatures 40s and 50 degrees in trent on, wrights town international dropped to 49 a. chillier morning. but we move back in the 60s in spite of clouds moving in and a chance you get to use your umbrella again today. by 9:00, in the upper 50s, 61 degrees, southerly wind kicking in. the winds will play a part in the weekend forecast, too him right now, jessica boyington has first alert traffic. >> we have been avoiding this

traffic all week. we have the vine street parkway closed in between the schuylkill expressway, right around the vine. so you can see crews accessing the vine eastbound. that's what it looks like across the board. our drive times are great to the vine. 12 minutes. no problems on the schuylkill eastbound. and the blue route southbound. a 15-minute trip. mass transit, we currently have no delays, petco and dart. chris. >> let's get back to thatic practiceing news i mentioned a moment ago out of newcastle county. they've contained a fire at a recycling plant. a recycling center. it's in newcastle. we have a crew headed to the scene.

we are trying to see if they live nearby that recycling center. this morning, we have information on the mysterious death. their adjei period this week. sours close to the investigation tell us the grand jury subpoenaed 20-year-old sarah jessica, the sister of brendan father dj. one year ago, she made a video about the death of a young body and her nephew portrayed the boy in that video. her attorney says, this is pure coincidence. >> it's a red herring. i would just encourage people not to focus too much on it. balls i think it's a waste of ti time. >> five weeks ago, his father reported him missing. he was found about a half mile away. toxicology tests provided no

clues about how he died. a man in is the hospital this morning after robbers shot him outside a family dollar store. sky force 10 flew over last night. two when e men walked up to a victim and tried to rob him and shot him in the abdomen. the search continues for the robbers. no word on that man's condition, by the way. happening today the chester county district attorney's office will be talking about sexting and cyber bullying at local schools. now this all comes in the wake of that sexting scandal that rocked the east town school district. authorities have charged three students, between the ages of 11 and 15 with sharing child pornography. students say they spread erotic pictures of themselves and shared a video o a classmate. and the cities were at east town middle schools and constoeg ga high school.

we have new information on the george washington bridge scandal. remember that controversy? a former appointee of governor chris christie wants his trial moved out of state. they filed a motion saying it is impossible to get a fair trial in new jersey. the trial is scheduled tore next april, by the way. beroni and staff kelly are accused of orchestrating a scheme for the governor not endorsing the governor's re-election bidments they will reach out to businesses looking to make money from that event. here's a live look where the convention will be held next july. they will host an online seminar today. >> that will show businesses how to get listed in a directory of svendors for the democratic convention. mint man press is among those

hooking to cash in. nbc 10 was there as that company showed off merchandise it has already printed for the convention. friday's mayor elect named the city's next police leader. first deputy commissioner richard ross, wallace he says he will build on his accomplishmentings. community policing has been an outgoing priority. ross hopes to hire 250 morosiss from diver's backgrounds, he says, and send them out into the community oget to know people. he also says he wants to continue a dialogue with those concerned about police brutality and misconduct. >> i will give you an example. black lives matter. to me, they're not mutually exclusive. there is a way to have them both happen at the same time. you have to have a dialogue so people can hear each other. >> ross says he will also expand the use of body cameras and

hopes to limit the stop and frisk tactic. now, commissioner ross will be sworn in, in january. he was born and raised in philadelphia. he joined the force in 1989. he's a 26-year veteran. he's a graduate of central high school and received his bachelor's degree from penn state and his masters from st. joseph's university. >> happening today the city of allentown is a step closer to building up the riverside district t. city is holding a celebration today for work that has already begun on what's called the waterfront. apartment businesses will stand on the western banks of the lehigh river. this according to an artist is what it will look like when it's finished. there will be six business building, three apartment garages. officials say that will add 3,000 jobs and 400 apartments. there is going to be a half mile river walk with direct river

afternoon, that's when we will see the wet weather arrive. before it gets here, we will see the temperatures climb. 9:00 this morning, it warms to 55 degrees in philadelphia. but you can see the rain to the west, it's on the way. at 11:00 this morning, umbrellas will be going up for parts of the area. philadelphia into the western suburbs. trent on, you will see some rain, burlington county goting rain. cloudy skies for most of delaware and south jersey and those clouds swing through with some scattered showers, nothing more than that. doesn't look like heavy rainfall today. 52 the high in mount pocono, 60 for allentown and reading. we will be in the low 60s in trenton, mount holly, norristown. the showers moving through later this morning, mainly dry, though, for rehoboth. cape may, dover, into the middle 60. some breaks of sunshine, sunshine might come through late in the day. first we get the showers with high temperatures in the low 60s for west chester. philadelphia and williams town him don't get used to these

we have new under surveillance video that shows tuesday's deadly plane crash in akron, oil, that killed all nine people on board. you will see the plane going down, right there, top left of

the screen. investigators say the ten seater altitude clipped power lines. thankfully, no one on the ground was hurt. but the crash did misplace a dozen families. they are looking at several factors that could have been in play when that crash occurred. those include weather, maintenance and flight records and air traffic control. they have recovered the cockpit voice recorder. meantime, neighbors impacted are still trying to make sense of what happened. >> it looked like something in my afghanistan days, something, a bomb and i said something. i just ran. i was only .2 of a mile away. >> neighbors whose homes were destroyed in that fire are thanking friends and community for helping them with donations and giving them a place to stay. well, a university of missouri student who allegedly posted an online threat will appear in

court to face those charges. many students say they're afraid to go to class after a threat was posted on a social media site yik-yak, i'm going to stand on my ground tomorrow and shoot every black person i see, adding, don't go to campus tomorrow. we will kill you. this comes from earlier this week amid race imissues on campus. it seems the missouri movement of students calling for accountability on their leaders is spreading. >> we want him to be removed from ris position. >> now, that was the scene in new york at ithaca college, hundreds of students faced a walkout, calling on their president to step down. complaints on the ithaca campus include some offensive remarks made by public safety officers and a racially tense party
