neighborhoods they cannot afford to live in the neighborhoods where they work. >> reporter: you're also asking for other things, including getting rid of college tuition, as well as cancelling all student debt. how's that impact these students? >> in terms of cancelling student debt, it works the same as the housing bubble. you have these banks bouncing around the loans and all they wanted is their money, and students are promised a better quality of life, but they can do just organizing or in the public sector because they can't afford to do it. >> reporter: you think they are getting in over their heads? >> no, that's like a -- wrong analysis. they are made to be put in those positions by the universities. >> reporter: they have no other choice. a lot of students listening to speakers right now and i'll show you video from sky force 10 above the scene. they marched down broad street, market streets, at one point even sitting in the street to block traffic and specific demands, $15 minimum wage, getting rid of college tuition

so it's free and abolishing all student debt. they'll be out here another few minutes, as well as the philadelphia police officers keeping watch, making sure everything goes smoothly. back to you guys in the studio. >> randy gyllenhaal live for us all over that story. in the meantime, he dressed the part, a man who claimed to be a military police officer on veterans day was really an imposter. 25-year-old michael porter is now behind bars and the officer who put him there is a veteran himself. police charged porter with violating the state's stolen valor act, which makes it a crime to impersonate a military member or veteran. he was also carrying a police radio, handcuffs, and handcuff key. they are all legal in this case because he was posing as a member of the military. >> it's a smack in the face for all those who did serve for our country. >> there's men and women serving today, you know, the veterans, you know, they are being recognized who made sacrifice and we have this gentleman who

hadn't. >> police are also looking into claims that porter falsely told other people he's a member of the military. a bucks county man is in jail after police say he used craigslist to intimidate a local police officer. police say 49-year-old john deangelo posted ads luring people to the officer's home at all hours of the night, even posting ads for sex. prosecutors say they traced the fake ads quickly and say the ruse was to retaliate against the officer. deanna durante was there as both sides appeared in court. >> reporter: it's back to prison for 49-year-old john deangelo. the man owns this pawnshop, one police cited back in july for violating state law. all items taken in by pawnshops be cataloged in a state computer system. deangelo pleaded guilty to one offense and the other was tossed out and he continued to operate his store, but police say he had

it out for the cop who caught him committing a crime and wanted to get even. >> it is a very serious case, we take it extremely seriously here, targeting people using computers to retaliate against witnesses is, obviously, dangerous, scary, and a bad idea. >> reporter: police say deangelo posted ads luring would-be bargain hunters to the home of the police officer, offering scrap metal, even christmas lights, telling those who read the ads to come by any time, day or night, and people did, according to police, scaring the officer's wife and kids. in mid-october police say a man seeking a sexual encounter was spotted by a neighbor trying to enter through a side door in the middle of the night. the man fessed up he was there responding to an ad. >> computers are traceable, phones are traceable. everything has records. if you choose to do this, we're going to find you. >> reporter: police say they traced an e-mail account set up to this corner right across the street from his pawnshop.

>> absolutely, yeah. again, this is something we'll get into at great length when we are at the court of common police. >> reporter: his defense attorney says he is looking forward to his client being able to tell his story in court. we asked court official about the bail status and they told us because he hasn't complied with bail restrictions to turn over his weapon, he remains in jail. in bucks county, deanna durante, nbc 10 news. right now a chester neighborhood is returning to normal after a police chase and lockdown. this afternoon. investigators are still searching for the suspect. police set a perimeter and brought in search dogs. it all began about six blocks away when undercover agents tried to pull over the driver of a cadillac escalade. turns out that driver has an outstanding warrant and panicked. as he sped off, he struck a police vehicle with an officer inside. eventually he ended up ditching that suv and ran off on foot. police say they know who they

are looking for. also new at 5:00, they don't know how, but police say a berks county woman stole bank card numbers and used them to buy stuff. several people in cumru township say purchases they did not make started showing up on their bank statements. this is the woman place say stole the information and claimed it was hers as she used it at a number of stores. police do know the stolen bank card numbers were incoded on fake credit cards. if you know this woman, call police. from our delaware bureau, important warning for people in one apartment complex, police are looking for a man who was seen twice exposing himself at the chateau orleans apartment onshon shipley road. a victim saw a shadow outside her door, when she went to investigate, a man exposed himself. anyone with information is asked to call police. turning now to our weather.

the rain is done. so nice to hear those words. this is a live look there in center city, philadelphia. it's been wet for most of the day, but most of that rain came during your commute. the wind is blowing out there, though. let's talk to sheena parveen. sheena, the rain is gone, that's good. but now comes the cold. >> yeah, the cold and the wind. it's going to be even colder into this weekend, but we're really drying up from the rainfall earlier today. we're seeing the clouds around, these will start breaking up this afternoon, all the rain is offshore. there is one area of some showers right around williamsport, some could be moving through the lehigh valley, mostly staying north of philadelphia, but that's really about it. what we have in store for tomorrow is a lot of wind. already very windy conditions off to our west and northwest, and that will be here for your friday. winds will be increasing as we go through the day tomorrow. going to be kind of annoying at times, gusting near 40 miles an hour possibly. for tonight, 7:00 p.m., mid 50s, we continue to dry out.

temperatures kind of cool. tomorrow, though, conditions a little on the cool side, but by 11:00 p.m., still around 53 degrees. 8:00 tomorrow morning we should be in the low 50s, windy, sunny, but getting cooler as we go through the day and even colder forecast into your weekend. take a look at how cold and the eagles forecast coming up. >> looking forward to that, sheena. more fallout today from the so-called porngate scandal unleashed by kathleen kane. today council members called for the firing of three prosecutors involved in the inappropriate e-mail chain. the president of now says members can't ignore offensive messages were received and sometimes forwarded by current philadelphia prosecutors. >> when somebody has attacked us, raped us, assaulted us, whatever the case may be, these are the people we go to. >> no matter what people may

feel about attorney general kathleen kane, the fact of the matter is if she had not uncovered this information and made it public, this would have been swept under the rug and we would know nothing about it. >> in early september after extensive review, d.a. seth williams ordered sensitivity training to the three prosecutors, not firing. he says that decision stands. the head of the pennsylvania turnpike commission hopes state lawmakers will make it a little easier to collect from deadbeat toll evaders. this year alone the toll loss $33 million in unpaid tolls. drivers are sent two payment notices and after that the debt is turned over to collection agencies. instead, the chairman wants the driver's license or vehicle registration suspended. the pennsylvania auditor general is looking at the possible changes now. to money problems for the archdiocese of philadelphia and the fact that they are improving. a new audit for the last two fiscal years was released today.

it shows the budget deficit dropped to less than $1 million. that compares to more than $17 million in 2012. the archdiocese does say its retirement plans are underfunded and need improvement. a philadelphia nun and a catholic school teacher's on leave after video surfaced of her failing a sobriety test. there's a petition to save her job. sister kimberly miller works at little flower high school for girls of philadelphia. last week she allegedly backed into an auto shop in turnersville. she was stopped by police and then charged with dui. the petition says she's a selfless teacher who should, "not lose her job for one mistake." a former north jersey police officer pleads guilty to stealing disability payments. john marion lives in georgia now, but he worked as a police officer until 2008. he retired on the disability pension, then worked for a little bit in georgia.

he pleaded guilty to stealing more than $321,000. finally an end to this story. an emu on the loose in newcastle county on its way to a zoo. the big bird was captured today in the townsend area. take a look at this nbc 10 viewer video of the bird in the back of a truck following its capture. a nearby school, i should say, was placed on lockdown while the bird was captured. the people who caught it posed for a picture after capturing it. workers from 3 palms petting zu in clayton. the bird will be checked out and eventually put up for adoption. good end to that story. the university of missouri has a new interim president in the wake of a racism scandal at that school. plus, suspects arrested for shining a laser at helicopters in new york city and the feds now say it's just the latest in a potentially deadly and growing trend. and later, begging for books. how one philadelphia principal

is getting creative to keep students reading during the state budget stalemate. and it has a strange name, the storm is called the witch of november and it's bringing high winds to the great lakes. part of the system is moving towards us. i'll go over all the details on what you need to know. keith? first, a live look from sky force 10 yet again. this is that student protest we brought you at the top of the show. that city hall there and that's a huge group of college students from local schools fighting for higher pay, less student debt and even no tuition. they've been blocking traffic about an hour now. we'll check in when we return. this is nbc 10 news. >> the newly appointed interim president of the university of missouri says he understands the frustration of faculty, students, and the community. michael middleton was introduced today after his appointment by the board of curators. he'll lead the system until a permanent replacement is found. middleton replaces kim wolf, who resigned monday amid student protests over his administration's handling of racial complaints. >> i can understand the ugly, ugly history that permeates everything we do in our institutions in this country. and once we get the truth on the

table, i think we're poised to reconcile those differences and move forward. >> middleton says everyone involved must confront difficult issues, but he's optimistic about the future. this all comes, of course, on the heels of more racism. a student accused of making racist threats at their columbia campus is staying in jail now. 19-year-old hunter park was denied bond this afternoon during his first court appearance. the northwest missouri state university student is charged with making a terroristic threat against black students and faculty members. one week, that's how long prosecutors have in the sandusky case to turn over information about any deals between victims and their civil lawyers. it's all part of the appeals process for the former penn state assistant football coach. defense attorneys want to know about any book deals, speaking fees, or any other money the eight victims may have received

as an incentive to testify against sandusky. meanwhile, another degree gone. today drexel university revoked bill cosby's honorary degree. the philadelphia college now joins a growing number of universities across the country that have done the same thing. cosby received his honorary degree there in 1992. to this, a postal police officer in newark, new jersey, is recovering after being shot this morning. investigators say two men impersonating police officers pulled him over. they shot him in the hand. now he's doing okay, we've understood. it's not clear, though, if the officer was on his way to work at the time of this shooting. tonight, one man is in custody charged with aiming a laser light into the cockpit of two news helicopters in new york. the incident highlights a growing problem especially around airports where similar cases are on the rise. nbc 10 national correspondent chris clackum tells us this is a dangerous trend.

>> reporter: the lathest in a string of incidents happened 1500 feet above new york city, a bright green beam of light lit up the cockpit of a news helicopter, nearly blinding the chopper pilot. police moved in, arresting one man. >> right now we're getting hit pretty good with a green laser. >> copy, you're getting hit with a green laser. >> reporter: it's a growing problem across the country, especially at airports. the faa says already this year more than 5,000 laser strikes have been reported, with more than 20 aircraft targeted wednesday night alone. many fear culprits don't understand the seriousness of pointing lasers at those flying overhead. >> we're talking about a helicopter here that weighs almost 2 tons. imagine that coming down on your house because the pilot's vision is impaired. even more serious is if it was a jet liner. >> reporter: making matters worse, the laser's beam gets larger in the distance. >> a lot of people don't understand this little light is

a big deal four or five miles away. >> attention all aircraft, unauthorized laser. >> reporter: police are looking for who pointed lasers at three planes landing at dallas-love field wednesday night, a federal crime punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. chris clackum, nbc news. have you heard about this? an intense system rolling through michigan caused huge waves just like these along the beaches of lake michigan today, and now the strong gusts are heading here. nbc 10 first alert meteorologist brittney shipp joins us now in studio. brittney, you have the details of what you just called the witch of november. what's that? >> it is a funny name, but if you take a look at the strong wind storm it's also known as the witch of november. wind speeds gusting up to 45 miles per hour in detroit, up to 45 in buffalo, 32 in chicago,

and we're going to start to see gusty winds into the rest of tonight and definitely by tomorrow, wind gusts up to 38 miles per hour in the poconos and also into parts of allentown and into pottstown. so as we get into your friday, that's what we expect to see. let's show you the video and show you what else this system was responsible for. a hood of snow for the rookies probably made these skiers happy, but a mess of the roads about 50 flights were cancelled at the denver international airport. now we'll fly you over to oklahoma, these winds whipped right through oklahoma, helping to fuel these wildfires. wind gusts up to about 60 miles per hour were reported, and then in iowa a tornado touched down producing a debris trail 12 miles long with wind speeds up to 110 miles per hour. in all, ten tornados were reported to the national weather service and lastly, hard to believe this is the same system, take a look at the rough surf in lake michigan with wind gusts up

to 60 miles per hour. wave heights will reach up to 15 feet. on the back end of this system we are going to notice a little bit of lake effect snow that's mainly going to be combined to the western parts of pennsylvania, so that's the latest details on the witch of november, but not to worry, sheena's standing by with a closer look at our foreclosure. not going to be as bad as what the folks in the midwest are experiencing. sheena? not going to see that, but snow showers coming in for parts of pennsylvania, wouldn't be surprised if we had flurries blowing in north and west of philadelphia, but we'll be watching that over the next couple of days. for right now the rain is clearing, getting breezy overnight tonight and even more wind tomorrow, winds will be increasing through the day. gusting near 35 to 40 miles an hour all day tomorrow, and even starting off your weekend. and it's going to be colder for the weekend, especially saturday and sunday morning. take a look at what's happening for our temperatures. today we got to 61 degrees, tomorrow will be in the upper

50s and the average high is 58 degrees. saturday, though, high temperature only around 50 degrees, and then by sunday we'll be back closer to the upper 50s. right now the clouds breaking across the area, 61 degrees in philadelphia at the moment, but we are much drier. there is one area of rain we're watching that could be moving into the lehigh valley this evening. i'll show you that in a second, but temperatures mostly in the upper 50s through the lehigh valley, upper 50s around 60 degrees for parts of new jersey and delaware and the winds right now are right around 5 to 10 miles an hour, but overnight into tomorrow you'll notice them really picking up. most of the area nice and dry, but there is that batch of rain around williamsport. this could slide into the lehigh valley, mostly staying north of philadelphia this evening, but after that we really start to clear up for tomorrow. here's that big weather system over the great lakes that brittney was showing you, snow attached to this. tomorrow, into early saturday, lake effect snow for parts of pennsylvania. for the rest of this evening, though, we could see showers

moving into the lehigh valley, otherwise we dry out for tomorrow morning. temperatures in the 40s when you wake up. then through the afternoon there you seep the lake effect snow through parts of pennsylvania, also upstate new york and with such strong winds moving in, i wouldn't be surprised if late tomorrow night, very early saturday, we got a few snow flurries moving in. otherwise through the day saturday, sunnier and colder. even through the afternoon. here's a look at our temperatures now. the cold air is going to move in saturday and sunday, especially through the morning hours. so the weekend's going to be quite a bit cooler. take a look at the morning lows, saturday and sunday morning we expect temperatures in the 30s when you wake up. for the eagles game as we go into sunday, tailgaters, temperature around 53 degrees, by the fourth quarter upper 50s but will be sunny and dry. tonight clearing, breezy. low 40s areas north and west. tomorrow a windy day, cooler, too, about the upper 50s. into the weekend starting off with temperatures in the 30s, highs topping out around 50 for

this is nbc 10. >> members of one philadelphia police unit are walking around a little lighter on their feet today. the reason, they lost a lot of weight in the 29th annual weight watchers battle of the badges. it's a competition between philadelphia police and philadelphia firefighters. the winners belong to the city's field operations unit. they rewarded a keurig coffee maker for their efforts. >> doesn't matter how much you lose, as much as you put in dedication into losing. it's a great, great program. every year keeps getting better and better. >> great effort there. firefighters have 15 wins under their belt, police now stand at 14. turning o this. colonel sanders could soon visit a bucket of chicken to your door

on demand. kentucky fried chicken is testing home delivery in parts of california. you can get chicken, coleslaw, biscuits, and more by ordering through an online service. the chain expects to expand the service into parts of texas by the end of the year. no word yet on philadelphia, south jersey, or delaware. well, don't let your child's smartphone lead to a felon. that's what authorities say could happen if your child is texting their classmates. that story next.

this is nbc 10 news. >> right now at 5:30, keeping middle schoolers from sexting each other. today a chester county school district is warning kids against exchanging naked photos after a fourth boy now is charged with distributing explicit photos online. nbc 10's lauren mayk joins us live in chester county. lauren, kids could face felony charges for this kind of behavior. >> reporter: that's right, keith. this is serious stuff. in this case, photos exchanged between a girlfriend and a boyfriend were passed around after they broke up, but the d.a. tells us that is not all they found. this is a problem everywhere. possibly even on your child's cell phone. >> from great valley, to downing town, from coatesville to

phoenixville. >> reporter: if you didn't hear your child's school district in there, just wait. >> this is the sort of thing that goes on every day in every school district. >> reporter: sexting and school-aged kids. >> obviously, this has happened here recently, we've had a lot of discussions. >> reporter: carrie miller says she's talked to her fifth and seventh graders. >> for me more than anything, it was what if somebody sends you something, how do you handle that? >> reporter: kids were passing photos around. >> don't save it, don't send it, don't do anything. shut your phone off and when you get home we'll talk about it. >> reporter: we learned of a secret way kids can hide images in a vault. >> is that something you've heard about? >> no, never heard about it. >> it's a calculator, no big deal. this is why you might want to check it. because the calculator is a vault for hiding images. >> reporter: district attorney tom hogan shows us images can be deleted from your photos but

still live in the vault. >> these are perfect for kids who are trying to hide things from their parents, they are perfect for people who are criminals trying to hide things from us. >> reporter: and as we stood here today, as school got out, we watched child after child with a cell phone in their hand. it is just so common today. the d.a. here in chester county, tom hogan, tells us he carries a password for his kids' cell phones in his wallet and he does check them. live, lauren mayk, nbc 10 news. >> lauren, thank you very much. speaking of schools, 22% of students are bullied. that's according to stopbullying.gov. the warning signs include destroyed books, clothes, and property, frequent headaches, faking being sick, and a change in eating habits. on the flip side, there are signs that your child is bullying someone else, including having friends who bully others, having unexplained money or new

belongings, and blaming others for their problems. to the state budget crisis now, 134 days and counting without a state budget in pennsylvania. the debate focuses now on property tax cuts and increasing the state sales tax. governor tom wolf is billing as a record increase in schools and first substantial school property tax cut. republicans, though, refuse to raise income taxes. democrats complain increasing the state sales tax is what hits the poor the hardest. for one school principal in west philadelphia, waiting for that budget is now taking matters into her own hands. the principal is begging for books. she's asking teachers, school visitors, family, and friends for books that kids may like to read for fun. earlier this year students at elaine lock elementary school were asked what kind of a books they read for fun. most couldn't even answer

because they don't have access to books outside the classroom. >> i believe that if they don't start reading for fun, than how are we going to expect them to read in the classroom? how are we going to get them to understand how important reading is to get information? >> great point. many older students are choosing books three or four years below their grade level. the exercises help teachers see what they need to focus on. meanwhile, some local help today for local businesses interested in participating in the 2016 democratic national convention. an online seminar showed business owners how to get listed in a directory for the convention. it's already printed merchandise for the big event. the dnc will be held in philadelphia next july. look forward to july already. umbrellas and hoodies were up today as people checked out 18th and walnut streets in center

city, philadelphia, for good reason, but you know what, all in all not too bad a day. sheena, how's the rest of the day looking? >> doesn't look bad at all, keith. we're going to see improvements aside from one area of rain that we're watching. most of us have really dried up pretty nicely. it's going to get breezy ov overnight. now we have another batch of rain around williamsport and this will be moving into the lehigh valley within the next couple of hours, but staying north of philadelphia. nothing very heavy. it will get windy, though, into tomorrow. here's the big weather system we've been talking about. the wind is going to increase through your day tomorrow, even gusting near 40 miles an hour and then by the weekend that wind direction is going to shift giving us an even colder weekend forecast. through the next couple hours, there's the rain moving through the lehigh valley area and temperatures by then will be in about the mid 50s still. and by 11:00 we all really start to dry up nicely. winds will be increasing into your morning tomorrow, temperatures by 11:00 p.m. upper 40s for parts of the lehigh

this is nbc 10 news. >> the red cross says 37 people are dead after two suicide bombings in southern beirut. almost 200 others are wounded and lebanon's official national news agency says at least four buildings were damaged. the area is a stronghold for the shiite hezbollah group. isis is claiming responsibility for the attacks. speaking of which, european law enforcement authorities say they've broken up a recruitment ring that sent prospects to fight in iraq and syria alongside isis. at least 16 people are under arrest following a coordinated police sweep. the early morning raids targeted a kurdish/sunni muslim group. authorities say the group wants to overthrow the kurdish government in northern iraq and replace the government by a group that rules by islamic law.

home grown terrorism has touched our area, too. you might remember a philadelphia mother's charge with planning to join isis, went by the nickname young lioness. she even bought plane tickets to go overseas to join the terror group. then there was jihad jane, i should say, colleen lived in montgomery county. she was sentenced to ten years in prison for a 2009 plot to kill a cartoonist who mocked the prophet mohammed. an ohio man is charged with trying to get american service members killed. prosecutors say terrence mcneil posted the names and addresses of military men and women online. he also allegedly said he supported isis and asked followers to kill the americans. and meanwhile, a south jersey congressman went to afghanistan to learn about our military strategy there. he told me today, "it is not time to pull out our troops just yet." congressman donald norcross

returned from his trip last night. norcross said military leaders told him isis is just waiting for u.s. troops to leave. we'll have more with congressman norcross this sunday morning when i host nbc 10 at issue following "meet the press." a lot of people talking about this today, choosing to play now and jeopardizing long-term health and possibly his career. that's what malcolm jenkins through a concussion during the cowboys game on sunday. we'll hear from him coming up in sports. and the rain moving out and now we're looking at windy, colder conditions, especially in time for your weekend. i'll show you how cold it's going to get coming up.

suffered a head injury on this tackle in the second half of the cowboys game sunday night. jenkins said today he played the rest of the game with a concussion and he didn't tell the coaching or medical staff. comcast sportsnet's danny pommells joins us now with reaction to this. danny, a potentially dangerous move. >> yeah, you're right about that, keith. did return to practice, but this is the story that made headlines all day today at eagles practice. malcolm jenkins admitting that basically he hid a concussion from eagles coaches and trainers sunday in dallas. you saw the play where jenkins said it happened mid-second quarter, meets darren mcfadden in the hole, big collision. jenkins said eagles training staff wasn't happy with him after the game as he describes how he felt when he continued  playing. >> just a little foggy. the game was moving a little faster than it normally has. you know, just a little bit confusing early and after that, you know, just feel like you're in a fog a bit. >> big part of helping us win

from earlier today. we could have another round moving into the lehigh valley, but with the rain clearing out, the winds are going to increase overnight tonight, but more wind as we go into tomorrow, winds gusting near 35 to 40 miles an hour, and then we get even colder as we go into the weekend. right now, though, we have dry conditions across philadelphia, 61 degrees is the temperature through the lehigh valley. mid to upper 50s right now. 55 degrees westchester, 55 bensalem, 59 degrees in wilmington. much of south jersey and delaware, though, right around 60 degrees. tomorrow we will be cooler, but again the winds will be increasing, so overnight tonight temperatures dropping off very slowly, though, and as we go into the early morning hours you start to notice the winds picking up here, especially right around the morning commute. it will be breezy when you step outside. by about 8:00, 9:00 in the morning, sustained winds around 15 to 20 miles an hour, but gusting even higher and by 9:00 a.m., nice and dry but around 53 degrees by then. locally we have the clouds

breaking, but that area of rain around williamsport will be moving into parts of the poconos and the lehigh valley here in the next couple hours. nothing very heavy, but what we are watching is the big weather system to our north and west. with that a lot of snow. we're not going to see that, but we'll see the wind out of this. there is a chance parts of pennsylvania could see lake effect snow for late tomorrow night. that could blow us in a few snow flurries, but the meantime for this evening we could see light showers through the lehigh valley. then the cold front moves through, the winds increase tomorrow, little cooler and windy through the day and there you see the lake effect snow showers through parts of pennsylvania. i wouldn't be surprised if we see snow flurries, but the weekend will be giving us colder temperatures saturday and sunday morning in the 30s. then we'll leave to the eagles game sunday here on nbc and we're going to be looking at sunny skies across the board, tailgaters 53 degrees, fourth quarter temperatures in the upper 50s. chilly but dry for the eagles

>> right now at 6:00 a call for change. hundreds of local college students rally around city hall to protest the cost of higher education, low hourly wages, and crippling student debt. good evening, everyone, i'm jim rosenfield. >> and i'm jacqueline london. students are participating in what's called the million student march. >> randy gyllenhaal is in the middle of the march. he joins us live in center city. randy, they've been causing problems for drivers, too. >> reporter: yeah, some of them sitting in the road in the middle of traffic as they made their way from a number of local university campuses marching down broad street and market street, converging here on city hall. the protest is beginning to wrap up and you can see some of the signs, we don't like student debt, education should be a right not a death sentence. that's kind of the theme here. let me show you video from above sky force 10 over the scene as these protesters are slowly beginning to make their way back to their college campuses.

they arrived here at city hall with very specific demands. they want free college tuition for all students, they are demanding a $15 an hour minimum wage for student workers, and they want the government to cancel all student debt. many of these protesters worried about paying back their college loans. i asked some of them is that an extreme position to take, that's not even being talked about at the federal level right now, but they say it needs to happen now, needs to happen soon. >> we can't sustain the level of debt. when people don't have jobs, don't have the ability to pay for it, eventually they are going to be defaulting on it. >> i am going to pray that i get a job as soon as possible and start paying it off like everybody else. >> reporter: much of this protest is being fuelled by a similar protest happening at the university of missouri, where that school's football team actually walked out to stand up for incidents of
