inside a concert hall. >> people were basically just walking on each other. trying to escape. >> more than 100 killed. >> this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal value wes share. >> tonight the impact spreads from terrorists to philly. a security step up for a world on alert. >> i'm really scared for what's coming next. good evening, i'm jacqueline london. police say they believe all the attackers have dead but they may have had accomplices who are still on the loose. here's a look at what else we know right now. more than 120 people are dead. about 100 of those victims were killed in the concert hall french president francois hollande has declared a state of emergency and closed the country's borders. french police urged parisians to stay inside for their safety.

nbc's steve handelsman has the latest. >> reporter: panic outside the soccer stadium in paris. two suicide bombers attacked. gunmen mowed down people on the streets and rushed into restaurants. the worst was at bataclan theater. terrorists ran into aa rock concert with rifles blazing and took hostages. coordinate i add tax at multiple sites. police flooded paris and finally regained control. the terrorists in the theater blew themselves up. more than 120 people were reported dead. dozens more badly injured. president obama offered help. >> to provide whatever assistance that the government and the people of france need to respond. >> reporter: french president hollande sealed france's border and vowed to be ruthless, but french intelligence missed a mini army preparing to attack.

>> they were able to have automatic weapons. apparently there were suicide bombers involved. that means a bomb maker and obviously they were able to keep this completely quiet off the radar. >> reporter: tonight washington is worried. >> the undetected but sophisticated nature of the attacks in paris will give u.s. counterterrorism officials pa e pause. >> reporter: as freedom tower in new york stands lit in solidarity in the colors of france. the biggest worry in paris and washington had been small attacks by a few diehards. this changes everything. i'm steve handelsman, nbc news, washington. the attacks in paris have led to a ripple effect here in philadelphia. the french consulate in center city is boosting its security at consulates here and in other parts of the world. there's no known throat philadelphia but police are still stepping up security at lincoln financial field where the eagles play sunday.

at philadelphia international airport, the violence hits particularly close to home. that's where nbc 10's drew smith continues team coverage. drew? >> reporter: american airlines had one departure from philadelphia to france tonight. officials tried to figure out what was going on in france, but then decided to take off around 9:00. we talked with passengers, many feeling uneasy. especially those heading to europe. we spoke with people from france who live in philadelphia. they're stunned and horrified as they learn more about these attacks. it was above the tv in the bar where olivier first heard the news that his home country in a city where he went to school and worked if many years was under attack. >> the crime against humanity is nonsense and it's going on too many times in too many places. >> desaint martin owns the

caribou cafe in center city. he just returned from a visit to france last weekend. he spent tonight checking on friends and family. >> our hearts and prayers go of course to the french people, the family of the victims. it's awful. it's awful. >> reporter: philadelphia police say there is no credible threat but you will see officers making extra checks on any potential targets. >> i think we're going to probably see higher levels of security around our airports, around our train stations. >> reporter: scott white is a homeland security expert. he says these attacks are only going to create greater resolve against terrorism in europe and north america. >> we have to be vigilant. so when we hear something being radicalized we have to speak up. inside the airport terminal, mitchell morris hugged his family before boarding his flight to amsterdam. he was excited to start a new job in europe but not under these circumstances. >> i'm worried. it's a seven and a half hour flight. you have to think about it while you're up in the air.

>> reporter: the u.s. government has set up hotlines and there's a tool on social media you can use called the safety check on facebook. you can take a look at my friends. it shows there are two people in paris tonight, one of them has marked themselves as safe. you know they're doing okay tonight. that's another tool you can find online to see if people are doing okay that you may know in europe. live in philadelphia international airport, i'm drew smith, nbc 10 news. at least three people died outside the soccer stadium. inside there was chaos. this video comes from a philadelphia man who was there. he says parents were on the ground trying to cover their children. security usher it had crowd on to the field and had them wait for the all-clear. i spoke with one woman via skype who was right next to where the attacks took place inside a bar that within seconds turned from a party scene to panic.

>> i'm scared. i'm really scared for what's coming next. >> charlotte now living in fear speaking to us from her apartment next to a restaurant sprayed by bullets where customers became casualties. >> i imagine the panic going on there. >> reporter: when the gunfire and explosions broke out, she and friends in a bar that went into lockdown. >> we couldn't believe it and that it was happening 100 fe h0s away from us. >> reporter: 100 meters away, the concert hall where more than 100 people were kill skbld i have a friend who just texted me and a friend of a friend was at the concert and people were just basically walking on each other are trying to escape. >> reporter: as far as she knows all of her friends and loved ones are safe but is still very aware that the future is uncertain. >> it was a big concert. the guy who was playing was very

famous in france so paris is quite small. there's still a chance there is someone i know -- i don't know. i will know tomorrow, i think. >> reporter: charlotte was in paris in january during the attacks against a satirical newspaper "charlie hebdo." she says the city will unify again. >> if we let fear take us we can't do anything. so i think we just have to be strong and just show people that we are not scared and we are going to continue living our lives whatever happens. >> charlotte was kept inside the bar for three hours. she says once being on the street she was impressed by how everyone unified and how police were able to keep order amidst the chaos. and the american rock band eagles of death metal was performing at the bataclan concertnal paris when gunmen fired into the crowd and began taking hostages.

♪ you didn't want to stress then you got the itch ♪ >> reporter: this is one of their music videos. the band was formed in california in 1998 and was in the middle of a european tour to celebrate the new album. tonight the brother of one of the band members told the "atlanta journal-constitution" the band escaped the concert hall unharmed. tonight france is united in its grief. coming up, the spontaneous displays of patriotism sweeping the country. also ahead, a nun on dash cam video being arrested and charged with drunk driving. who's stepping forward to save her job. and temperatures will be dropping into the 30s tomorrow morning. already dropping into the 40s and it will be windy to start the weekend. i'll show you how cold it will be across your saturday and sunday coming up. between the french and german national soccer team. here is the latest on the worst terror attack in french history. police say all of the terrorists responsible are dead tonight. the death toll stands at more than 120 people, most of them killed at a rock concert. dozens of others were badly injured. france's president has sealed the border and declared a state of emergency. president obama is one of many international leaders that has spoken out calling what happened an attack on all of humanity. former vice president al gore was in paris when the attacks took place. he announced that he has suspended live earth out of solidarity with the french people. the benefit concert is for climate change. here at home, tomorrow's democratic presidential debate in iowa will go on as planned but the candidates have been voicing their thoughts on the tragedy. hillary clinton tweeted "the reports from paris are harrowing. praying for the city and families of the victims." fellow democrat bernie sanders wrote "horrified by the attack

quinones sanchez who says this would be a setback for the city. >> i think for an administration that has less than two months, this is something you nut a transition executive report to the new mayor who does not share the same -- your same thought. >> mayor elect jim kenney says he urged may nutter not to make changes before his administration takes over. police in bucks county say one man is in custody in a deadly shooting. it happened along richland town pike along 8:00. the victim is an adult man. there is no word on a motive. a retired navy seal who transitioned into a woman opened up about her transition tonight. kristin beck spoke to dozens. she is the author of the book "warrior princess, a u.s. navy seal's journey to coming out transgender." beck served in the military for 20 years and was even a member of seal team 6 at one time. tonight she talked about how you should not let labels define who you are.

>> the that person that you are is who you are. no matter what sexual orientation or gender or anything else. >> beck began her transition in 2011 and came out as a woman two years later. have you noticed there's a new traffic pattern on the ben franklin parkway that is causing a lot of confusion. this cell phone video shows cars crossing the yellow line because drivers just aren't sure where to go. the construction here is one part of a larger penndot project. seven bridges across the vine street expressway are being repaired directly under this stretch of this parkway. it will take another year to complete. we have a colder week end in store that will start with overnight and into tomorrow morning. gusty winds will be bringing in the colder temperatures.

it's getting colder outside right now. tomorrow morning we'll be in the 30s. the entire weekend will be chilly but saturday colder than sunday. the 30s in mount pocono. 49 pottstown. philadelphia upper 40s. much of south jersey and delaware and temperatures will be bottoming out in the 30s. that's mostly going to be around sunrise. but as you wake up if that's around 8:00, temperatures by then will be around 40 degrees, cold and windy still, mostly sunny skies. then by noon temperatures upper 40s, still windy. it will be a cold day. by 4:00 p.m. still windy. temperature around 47 degrees. many areas may not make it to 50. if you look to our north and west we are talking about the possibility of snow flurries through the poconos. not snow showers, that will stay farther towards the great lakes but we have that lake-effect snow and with that strong wind

it is trying to blow in snow flurries north and west. future temperatures here show temperatures dropping into the 30s for most of the area by early tomorrow morning. mid-30s north and west then through the afternoon barely at 50 degrees. we go back into the 30s by sunday morning and sunday afternoon. we're going to be milder which gives us a better looking eagles forecast. so if you're tailgating sunday we'll see sunny skies, cold temperatures. tailgate times 53. chilly by kickoff mid-50s. at least we'll be staying nice and dry. tonight, though, clear, much colder and with the wind as we bottom out into the 30s it's going to make it feel more like the mid-20s to low 30s with the gusty conditions and we'll see gusty winds tomorrow, too, windy and cold day, 49 to 52. but we will stay dry across the entire week and about a ten-degree jump from saturday to sunday and we go into next week
