isis is now claiming responsibility. >> we just kept getting reports stay inside, don't leave, shooters on the loose. >> local people flying back home to philadelphia are telling us their stories of how they survived. >> half my group went and were locked down in the bar of the restaurant. >> and tonight, local authorities on high alert as the nfl looks out for any potential threats ahead of tomorrow's eagles game. >> good evening, i'm denise nakano. act of war, that's what france's president is calling the attack on french soil since world war ii. he said getting revenge for the 129 people killed. 152 others are now reported injured, up from 200 this morning. 90 people are in serious condition. tonight french prosecutors say three teams of terrorists carried out the attacks. isis claims it's responsible for

it. seven attackers were killed, six blew themselves up. three people allegedly connected to the attacks were arrested in belgium today. at least one american is among the dead. a 23-year-old college student from california. nohemi gonzalez had been studying abroad. a vigil is planned tomorrow at her school. california state university long beach. friday's terror attacks happened at six locations not far from the eiffel tower. including a stadium, a restaurant, and a concert venue. 89 of the people killed were at that concert venue, where an american band was performing. nbc 10 anchor jim rosenfield is live outside the theater tonight. he begins our live team coverage. jim? >> reporter: denise, that theater is about a half a block behind me. police are guarding the barricade behind me. a strange sight indeed here in

paris. paris is a city to walk the streets, enjoy the sights, the restaurants, so many cultural institutions, and some americans with ties to our area. we've spoken with them and they said that's exactly what they were enjoying when all of a sudden their cell phones lit up letting them they were very close to danger. >> i'm still like in shock that it even happened. so close and we were here. your heart goes out to everyone affected and those who lost family members. thank god he spared our lives last night. >> reporter: jessica ross had just embarked on a new life in paris. close friends from the state came to visit. hours into their scenic tour, the city of lights descended into the darkness of terror as they dined in a restaurant blocks from the carnage. >> it could have been us. we were right there. >> reporter: motivated by a flurry of texts and tweets about the attacks, the women took it

upon themselves to hide for hours in the basement of the restaurant. >> we figured at least if we were in the basement, we saw another exit. if anybody came in, we would at least be one step below and could make a run. >> reporter: now 24 hours later, time to process what happened in paris. >> i think also because we're coming from new jersey, we had 9/11, and that was very scary and very close. but we knew where everything was. where we were, everybody was acting very calm. they're like, it's not that close. but you don't know. like you're in paris. >> when i woke up this morning, i just looked at the sky and thanked god and yelled to her, i said, jo, i thank god for you today. and i messaged them and text messaged them and said god brought us to see another day. and we can process everything that is taking place. >> reporter: now, officials are still urging people not to congregate in large groups, stay

indoors as much as possible. but there are still people venturing out on the streets. some of the restaurants were very, very crowded indeed. coming up a little bit later in the newscast, denise, you'll meet an american family with ties to our area. they show their love for paris. that's coming up a little bit later on. i'm jim rosenfield, nbc 10 news in paris. grateful to be home. today tourists and business travelers returned to philadelphia from paris, after a chaotic night in that city. nbc 10's drew smith is live at philadelphia international airport. drew, what did passengers say to you as they got off the plane? >> reporter: well, denise, definitely a sense of relief from these passengers who are now home and okay. but they also tell me they're sad tonight as they recounted the terror that took over the city of paris last night. american airlines flight 755 came in for a smooth landing in philadelphia. its passengers greeted with hugs

in the international arrivals hall. >> i'm definitely happy to be home. >> reporter: the relief of today stands in contrast to the horror of last night in paris. >> it was absolutely scary. >> reporter: george gary was at a paris restaurant on the final night of his business trip. when news of the attacks reached the wait staff, they locked the doors and kept everyone inside for several hours. >> there were lines of ambulances. at times there were eight, ten ambulances in a row. >> reporter: this new jersey mom was excited to see her daughter who said her tour group got separated during a lockdown at a bar. >> it was hard. but mostly, you know, sad for the lives that were lost. >> reporter: chuck's train passed a national stadium an hour before game time. where explosions would later be heard. >> i thought about, can i ditch my stuff fast enough and get to the football game? all those things -- all the

what-ifs run through your mind. >> reporter: at the philadelphia ticketing counter, passengers checked in for tonight's departure to paris. mark dropped off his mother. >> she's nervous because her daughter is going to pick her up and she doesn't know how late she's going to be. >> reporter: the passengers told me getting around the city of paris last night was not easy at all. some of them had to walk for miles from their restaurants to their hotels. they said they couldn't get in cabs. the subway wasn't working. tonight a much different story. they said their flight experience was just fine, only a slight delay coming out of paris. drew smith, nbc 10 news. people across our area are paying their respects to the victims of the paris attacks. right now, there is a growing memorial near the french flag on the ben franklin parkway. you can see the flowers and candles left behind. we spoke to a woman visiting philadelphia who has close family living in paris. >> and i was truly shocked that that would happen to innocent people in a wonderful city.

that has great camaraderie and compassion for other cities. >> fortunately, emily's family is safe, and accounted for. the eiffel tower is dark again, but the pennsylvania state capitol is lit up in blue, red and white tonight in solidarity with the victims in paris. governor tom wolf wants everyone in the state to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the wake of those terror attacks. local police have also beefed up security this weekend. head to nbc10.com to see photos of how buildings around philadelphia and around the world are lit up to support paris. plugs h plus how you can help remember the victims at a vigil tomorrow. up next, on nbc 10, the democratic presidential candidates argue over terrorism and foreign policy in their second debate tonight. highlights are next. and we saw a chilly start to your weekend.

a tribute tonight to the victims of the terror in paris. this is a photo of the window outside la belle equipe in yesterday's attacks. authorities now say three separate teams associated with isis carried out the attacks at at least six crime scenes. 129 people are dead and over 350 others are hurt. tonight philadelphia stands with

paris. memorials are set up around the city and a pair of vigils happened tonight at love park. that's where we find randy gyllenhaal with our coverage. >> reporter: cities across the country and around the world are holding these vigils to pray for paris. here in philadelphia, about 5,000 french nationals live in the city. and many of them tonight gathered in love park. in a time of such terror, violence and fear, it's only fitting that love brings us together. >> we need to stand by them as they have stood by us. >> reporter: so they gathered at love park, many hailing from fran france, proudly singing the french national anthem. >> i'm so sad yesterday. it's very hard to see how a country like that, i just want to pray for my country. because i love my country. >> reporter: many americans in the crowd have strong ties to our oldest ally and vow to stand with them. >> show our strength against these people who are just

monsters, savages. who have no respect for human life. >> reporter: the terror attacks will likely change french and american policy. it's already having a ripple effect here. tomorrow the nfl said every game, including the eagles, home at the linc, will have much tighter security. >> we don't know what they might have here. who knows where they're going to hit next now. >> reporter: at eighth and market street, lighting up the colors of the french flag. they recall the frantic phone calls she made last night. >> i called my parents. they said we don't know where my sister is. she's not answering her phone. she really could have been there. >> reporter: her sister is fine and she said the unit ti shown around the world means so much. >> it feels like home away. it gives french, like we're not alone. >> reporter: there is another vigil tomorrow.

if you'd like to attend, 4:00 p.m., at the french international school of philadelphia. randy gyllenhaal, nbc 10 news. the eagles tell us they'll observe a moment of silence tomorrow. and many u.s. military members will be at the linc tomorrow as the team plays its salute to service games. now, your nbc 10 first alert weather. with meteorologist brittany shipp. >> and the weekend got off to a chilly start. but that wasn't enough to stop thousands of people from taking part in the third annual spartan races. the park transformed into an obstacle course where racers completed challenges like wall climbs and spear throwing. it was definitely chilly out there. our temperatures have mainly stayed close to average. we'll return to closer to average as we head into tomorrow. a few of your headlines. a warming trend on tap for us. plenty of sunshine expected as we head into sunday as well. i am tracking showers, returning to our seven-day forecast. right now throughout philadelphia, we're at 43

degrees. our humidity is down to about 4%. light wind speeds finally out of the west-northwest at 8 miles per hour. so our wind speeds are relaxing. still dealing with a bit of a windchill throughout most of the rest of tonight. but 35 degrees currently in the poconos. 40 degrees in allentown. we're at 37 in pottstown. 35 degrees in atlantic city. cold temperatures in melville at 29. 38 currently in dover. so it's going to be a cold night ahead. as we get into tomorrow, you'll really feel the difference, a warming trend for us. we ended the work week on a mild note. dropping down to 51 degrees with the windchills feeling like in the 40s. sunday 60 degrees will be our high. a little bit above average. quiet conditions, and you can see we're not tracking any storm system anywhere near our region. we'll see more sunshine as we head into tomorrow. also into monday and tuesday. we'll stay nice and dry. i'll show you where our necessary weathermaker's going to come from. it will take a few days for this to develop. but it won't be until wednesday

afternoon where we'll start to track this system that's going to move through some of the great lake states, plains states and shift towards the east. this is what's going to bring us a chance of shower and rain as we head into wednesday late night. also into thursday. but as far as tomorrow's concerned, it's going to be a chilly start as we head into wednesday. temperatures closer to the low 40s for philadelphia. high 30s for allentown, as we push into noon, we're going to see temperatures pushing into the mid-50s. eventually into the high 50s, and low 60s for philadelphia. we'll see seasonal temperatures as we go into sunday. a look at your eagles football forecast. kickoff, temperatures at 56 degrees. by the fourth quarter, 60 degrees. kickoff is at 1:00. a a closer look at your forecast, dropping down to 38. we have a warming trend on the way. we'll head to the mid-60s by tuesday, track a chance of rain thursday into friday. this is the xfinity sports

9/11 attacks back in the u.s., we found parisians with ties to our area who are resolved to carry on. this despite an uneasy calm here. and major monuments that remain closed. as it sunk in, what took place while you were here last night out on the streets? >> it's just terrible. heartbreaking. >> we were determined not to allow the terrorists to make us hunker down and hide in the room, that we're going to walk around. and, you know, and we've talked to a few parisians about it. and they're almost apologetic to us. but it's us who are sorry for what happened. >> reporter: you went out and bought these i love paris sweatshirts. >> we love paris. >> just now. >> we put on facebook, we love paris. to hell with the terrorists, you
