they are going right now with at least two people. here's what else we do know. the suspected mastermind of friday's attacks and a fugitive were not arrested overnight in the raids, but a paris prosecutor has not ruled out that the two men were in fact killed the investigators say dna analysis will determine the identities of the people who died in the shootout, and we're also learning more tonight about the owner of the apartment where the takedown of the terror cell unfold the. a barrage of gunfire echoed in the darkness, a nightmare come to life for the paris suburb of saint-denis. french police moved in on their target, an apartment where they believed the mastermind of friday's terror attacks was hiding. this is our first look at man who owns the apartment. he admitted to police that he allowed two of the terror suspects to stay with him. police were prepared to arrest him, that the man claimed he opened his home as a favor for a friend that he didn't know the suspects. police did arrest eight people

in the raids and at least two people died including a woman who dead nated a suicide vest. french authorities say the raid came at a good time. they believe the suspects were about to move on some kind of operation. the chaos unfolding just outside this man's bedroom window. >> people are scared and people are thinking what's going to happen next, you know. >> reporter: france's president francois hollande says the overnight raids confirm his country is at war with terrorism and committed to taking down isis. authorities here in france today confirmed they have now identified all 129 people killed in friday's attacks, including a college student from california. as for the band that was playing inside that nightclub, they also arrived back in the united states. today the eagles of death metal say they are horrified, still trying to come to terms with what happened.

here's what they said. although bonded in grief with the victims, the fans, the families, the witt sense of paris and all those affected by terrorism, we are proud to stand together with our new family. now unified by a common goal of love and compassion. back at home the thanksgiving holiday getaway rush, that's about to get under way in a matter of days, and with what happened here in paris there is going to be some heightened security on the rails and for the airlines as well. nbc 10's lauren mayk joining us live from 30th street state with more on that. lauren? >> reporter: good evening, jim. you will see some changes here if you're riding amtrak. actually one of the most dramatic changes in security in transit in our region. just take a look over my shoulder here. we're talking about officers carrying ar-15s. that may seem a little bit jarring to begin with when you first see it but i'll tell you i talked to some patsgers today and they were glad for the extra

security. acting on a tip officer here moved quickly to figure out whether what's suspicious is also a threat. the extra security at amtrak and other transit systems come after the attacks in paris making passengers think twice about sights like a stray bag jessica vessell saw. >> whose baggage is that and you have that sinking feeling that you wouldn't have given two cents to. >> reporter: amtrak has stepped up security to include officers with long guns, ar-15s and also canine. at the philadelphia national airport no visible changes. >> the security at the airport is always on high alert. >> reporter: at septa stations you will see a change. >> we understand that people want to have a sense of anxiety over what occurred so we want to make sure that folks theme safe. >> the chief tells me you'll see more officers during rush hour in the morning and at night at the septa stations.

you can just sort of walk into here. that might make some people nervous. why should they not be nervous? >> well, i can tell you that we have a lot countermeasures that we'll never talk about. >> reporter: he does want people to know about and to notice those extra officers though and hopes passengers will also speak up when they see something suspicious. >> we handle every incident as if it's a potential threat. >> reporter: and, you know, we were only here about an hour today when we saw officers act on tips from passengers twice so people are really speaking up, and as for transit officials, they are having regular conference calls, folks from septa, folks from amtrak and from the airport and all talking. it used to be once every 12 hours and now i'm told that has gone down to once a day. live at 1th street station, i'm lauren mayk, nbc 10 news. >> all right, lauren, new at 6:001, president obama says any attempt to block syrian refugees

from coming into the united states is, quote, offensive. nbc 10 delaware bureau reporter tim furlong reports on the debate. >> reporter: as millions of people are fleeing the war in syria millions of americans are taking to social media to debate whether they want any them to come here. delaware governor jack markell says delaware will take refugees, the page filled with comments mostly ripping his stand and new jersey governor chris christie and about half of the nation's governors have said no. >> it's pure posturing. >> reporter: this widener university delaware law school professors say governors, yes or no, really doesn't matter what they say either way on this. >> this is totally a federal issue, and the states really have no authorities at all in this man sneer on social immediate yaw find some people who say accepting refugees is the right thing to do. so many people don't want refugees here at all seeing them at xe it's for already scarce resources that might other go to poor and homeless americans and

in the evening hour but the temperature very mild for this time of the year. the wind starting to pick up, very mild at 7:00 a.m. and starting in the western suburb, at the present time will get a whole lot colder and the rest of the timing on the rest but the seven-day in a few minute. we have new video into the nbc 10 of a dwi arrest of a new jersey state trooper. records show officer michael roadside had a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit. police arrested him last month after investigators say he crashed no a woman's car as a rest stop on the garden state parkway. also according to the report, the sergeant offered the woman $1,000 to keep quiet. police say they found an open container of alcohol in his patrol control. they took him into custody immediately and remains suspended without pay. new tonight, the fire

marshal says an electric problem in the attic caused last night's fire resulting in mostly smoke and water damage. the owner hopes to make repairs to get it back up and running quickly. >> police in two states are looking for two men who make off with engagement rings. take a look at this video. they have inside key jewellers. he asked to see engagements rings. as soon as he had ahold of one he ran out the door to an awaiting black dodge charger. about an hour earlier he did the same thing in morristown burlington count de. police hope you can help identify him. new at 6:00, radnor township teachers have a new contract offer months of back and fourth and teachers have worked for month without a new one even wright letters to college-bound seniors. the details of the new contract have not been released.

we have an update on our breaking news at 5:00. a housing fire. let's go to film furlong who is live inside sky force 10 in darby. >> a firefighter has been injured a fire fighting below. no flames showing but it's a large spread out scene the it's now a two-alarm fire and an initial report coming from the 100 block and the smoke is over a large area. it's subsided and the smoke just a little bit at this point. just to put it into perspective. just a block away penwood middle school. it does in the appear to be a fast moving situation and homes in the area have been evacuated and crews are out working shutting out utilities in the immediate area. we'll continue to follow this from the sky and our team are certainly making calls on the sky. latest on the fire and, of course, the late on the injured firefighter. tim furlong, nbc 10 news. a local gravestone

vandalized over and over. police say they couldn't figure out why the conshohocken family was targeted, but after we showed surveillance pictures of the suspect last week today police charged the man responsible. the motive behind the crime, a grudge that lasted 56 years. nbc 10's deanna durante takes you to cons hoke hocken for a story you'll see only on 10. >> at first it was red paint and then again, black paint, tar and acts of vandalism all targeting one cemetery plot in the conshohocken beginning in 2014 and continued until this week. >> the vandalism has occurred on at least four occasions. >> reporter: the crimes happened in march april and december of 20 "24" an again in november this year. each time the same headstone was deface. with no other headstones being vandalized police figured they were targeting this one family and they put a picture him and put a camera in the tree above

the headstone. the artist surveillance pictures, pipsters saw our story and called in possible names the police say this man, 6-year-old paul donovan of phoenixville has a relative buried here not far from the vandalized grave site. >> the suspect claims that 56 years ago when the deceased was 0 and this subject was 12 he claims that the subject stole money from him, and 56 years later he was getting back at him, so for 56 years he lived with this grudge. >> reporter: he's held a grudge against a dead man. >> yeah, he only realized that he had passed away within the last two years. >> reporter: no one answered at donovan's home and he's now charged with theft and vandalism and donovan not only confessed a and will pay the family back the money he cost them minus the money he's said he's still owed

56 years later. in cons hocken, deanna durante, msnbc 10 news. police are looking for a man who they say used the art of confusion to rip off businesses. authorities say uses the so-called quick change scam to trick cashiers for giving him more money. he usually buys something for less than $5 and tries to pay with a $200 bill and confuses the cashier by asking for different denominations of change along with extra cash. >> he's a con man and the he's doing this scam. he does is there a way with word and is very aggressive. >> they think he's hit at least stores and during the holiday season they want people and stores to be extra vigilant. the insect made its way from

tonight so it's going to be quite mild for this time of the year, at least for another couple of days. it's going to be kind of chilly by the time we're having marathon on sunday morning. 37 degrees, but it's going to be dry an sunny and by 11:00 a.m., up to 43 degrees and a little bit of wind, too, and that win is going to affect febt the eagles game. can't go off temperature and only 44 and the wind making it colder affecting the passing game and kicking game a little bit. a colder game than last week. a couple of sprinkles will be developing overnight tonight, but this is the main area that's coming in from the west. it extends from the gulf of mexico all the way up to canada, so there's really no way for it to miss us, just a matter of the timing and intensity, and as we go through the night tonight, nothing going on by midnight. by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow the rain is just starting in some of the western suburbs. lehigh valley, for example,

burks county, lancaster, chesty county seeing some rain by 7:00, and by 9:00 much of the area should see it except for perhaps the jersey shore. we're talking hour after hour after hour of rain and here we are at 2:00, look at the temperatures, upper 60s even with occasionally heavy rain coming in during the afternoon, and it may not even quit until later in the evening, at least according to this computer model which also suggest some potential thunderstorms, and as far as amounts of rain, not a whole lot by early evening tomorrow, but if we're going to get real heavy rain it's going to come towards the end of this thing, late tomorrow and tomorrow evening. but later tonight it's mild. chance of rain by sunrise 57 degrees for the low temperature, and then during the day tomorrow it's a rainy day. hour after hour of rain, getting a little heavier later in the day and a chance for a
