i-676, where it ran into the back of an empty school bus. >> i came out and i saw the police, there was a suspect outside of a car, and he was kind of kneeling on the ground talking out phone. i saw the front of his car was on fire. >> reporter: erika cabrera's video shows what happened. >> we see the cops draw these big guns and's they are behind their cars with their guns out. >> telling them to lay down on the ground and they walked over and he started to run and they grabbed him. >> reporter: in the missst of chaos, police get the driver into handcuffs. trooper casey rushed to the hospital, would survive a single gunshot wound to the shoulder. and in addition to that 17-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger, state police still looking for those two other passengers. live above 676, doug shimell, nbc 10 news.

>> our team coverage continues with lauren mayk live at the hospital where crews rushed that injured trooper to be treated. >> what's the latest on his condition? >> reporter: good evening. well, we are told that he is in good condition today. he does have a bullet in his shoulder that for now will not be removed, but he is expected to be okay. >> awake, alert, talking. >> reporter: mayor michael nutter giving the good news about the wounded trooper. >> he asked me how i was doing. i said, well, that's really not the question right now. the question is, how are you doing. >> reporter: at the hospital, 31-year-old trooper patrick casey reported to be in good spirits after being shot. >> shoulder wound, he described it as his lat, his left shoulder. >> reporter: state police captain tells us trooper casey was the backup on a traffic stop. he followed the fleeing suspect, trying to box in the other vehicle and took fire. >> the suspect got out of his

car, was firing continually at trooper casey, at which time he was returning fire from his vehicle at the suspect. >> reporter: casey was shot once and within an hour meeting with the mayor and d.a. and getting a new title. >> he's a real hero. he shot and returned fire, tried to save citizens on the streets. >> reporter: still at the hospital here, trooper casey has been visiting with his parents, with his brother, with his fiance. they have all been here with him today and he is expected to be here at least overnight. live in center city, i'm lauren mayk, nbc 10 news. >> lauren, and shortly after the trooper was shot the gunman was arrested and it was all just a matter of chance a couple of detectives were nearby. the district attorney's office tells us two veteran detectives from their office were on their way to another assignment when they noticed what was happening and chased down the suspect. the detectives had gunned, but did not fire their weapons. the crime scene was dangerous

the weather today as they hit the roads for the thanksgiving holiday. officials tell us this will be one of the most traveled days of the week. >> first alert chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here now. glenn, started as a much colder day, but things have already started to warm up. >> we're quite a bit warmer than we were yesterday. we're up to 50. only got up to 43 yesterday. the traffic moving along fine, dry roads, and we're going to continue to have dry roads for this prethanksgiving travel. 50 in philadelphia, but 44 degrees in allentown, 46 in reading. 49 in wilmington. just a little bit below average, but way above where they were at this time yesterday, seven to ten degrees warmer than they've been. and this warming trend is going to continue. a couple degrees more tomorrow, then the real jump comes on thursday and into black friday. unseasonably warm weather over those two days. there's not exactly going to be warm tonight, going to be a chilly night, clear skies, late

wind and low humidity. by midnight we're down into the 30s in philadelphia, so a lot of places are going to be in the 20s again. just how much it will warm up and if it's going to stay that way through the holiday weekend, plus the travel forecast in a few minutes. >> see you then, glenn. a lot of people aren't waiting until tomorrow for their holiday travel. >> today will be the busiest before thanksgiving. nbc 10's tim furlong shows us how they are handling the extra passengers. >> reporter: driving into philly international on what is now the second busiest travel day of the year. >> easy so far. it's early. >> reporter: from the people movers to baggage claims, lots of on times on the boards, smooth sailing for those flying out and in. >> like no one here, kind of surprising. >> people for a lot of different reasons are deciding to spread out their travel this year. >> reporter: after years of horror stories about traveling the wednesday before thanksgiving, seems more and more people staggered their trips a little, pulled the kids out of school a day early to beat the rush.

>> people that started traveling last sunday with the busy day, today tuesday is very busy day, busier than tomorrow or wednesday, the traditional busy day. >> reporter: combine smart travelers with good weather and seems so many nightmares from years past aren't an issue this thanksgiving, even in the wake of the paris attacks, the lines are moving smoothly, new dogs doing their job. >> we never discuss security here at the airport, but be assured it's at a very high level. >> reporter: there will still be busy times tonight and wednesday you should still be here at least two hours before your domestic flight, but overall i'm told so far so good. >> actually, it's been a lot easier than i expected. >> i was at the tsa, no line up there. >> oh, good, better go! >> reporter: at philly international airport, tim furlong, nbc 10 news. >> how about amtrak? well, amtrak is prepared for a surge of travelers this week. the rail service is adding extra trains and more seats all week. in all amtrak expects about

770,000 passengers during the thanksgiving period, about the same as last year. if you're one of the travelers, you'll notice extra security measures at the stations and onboard the trains this week. amtrak says it will have a visual presence. uniformed officers with guns and police dogs. it comes a day after the state department issued a worldwide travel alert. passengers we spoke with say the alert isn't changing their travel plans. >> well, i'm happy to see the security. we live in this country for a reason. we're going to have problems. if you're worried about it, you shouldn't travel. >> i thought about it in terms of bridges or anything, but i'm not actually stopping in new york, it's not like europe, you know, on ground level. so not so worried. the busiest day will be this sunday when everyone goes back home. stick with nbc 10 all week as you get prepared for the thanksgiving holiday. the nbc 10 news app will have the latest weather and travel updates. major developments overseas to tell you about.

this afternoon turkey confirms it shot down a russian war plane near syria, killing at least one of the two pilots onboard and russia's president vladimir putin is calling it a stab in the back. turkey claims the plane violated turkish airspace and ignored repeated warnings. we have new information about the paris terror attacks to tell you about. belgian authorities now releasing the name and photo of another suspect in connection with the massacre. police say mohammed abrini was driving a car later found abandoned at one of the shootings. he allegedly dropped off one of the bombers. also new, the french prosecutor says the mastermind of the paris attacks may have been planning another strike. he confirms abdelhamid abaaoud was believed to be planning an attack on the business district on november 18th or 19th, the

same day abaaoud was killed during a french raid on an apartment in the northern suburb of paris. meanwhile in washington, president obama met with french president francois hollande 11 days after the terror attacks in paris. the two leaders are focused on ways to boost8ç the coalition aiming to defeat isis in syria and iraq. >> the united states and france stand united. this barbaric terrorist group, isil, or daesh, and its murderous ideology, pose a serious threat to all of us. it cannot be tolerated. it must be destroyed, and we must do it together. this is the unity of purpose that brings us here today. >> hollande will have a similar meeting with german chancellor angela merkel tomorrow. on thursday he'll meet with russian president vladimir putin. here at home today flags are at half staff in new jersey to honor the victims of a deadly

terror attack in mali. this was the scene in pleasantville, atlantic county. one of the victims of the attack, anita datar, grew up in new jersey and went to rutgers university. an al qaeda-affiliated group claimed responsibility for the attack in mali. 19 people were killed when gunmen stormed the radisson blu hotel, taking dozens hostage. security forces killed the gunmen after a seven-hour siege. breaking news right now from camden county. police have arrested an 18 year old in connection with a string of home break-ins. it is a story we first told you about friday. taylor is charged with two counts of burglary, one count of conspiracy, and one count of attempted burglary. taylor broke into several homes this thursday. police collected dna evidence at the scene that helped him arrest taylor this afternoon. new information at the budget impasse. millions of dollars in payments

withheld until lawmakers pass a deal. county commissioners made the decision at noon today. they tell nbc 10 it comes out to about $4 to $5 million a month. the state budget is nearly five months overdue. the commissioner chairman says the county will run out of cash by the end of the year at this rate. he says the commissioners are encouraging other counties also to withhold payments. some kids in a philadelphia head start program got a new playground today all thanks to a $30,000 grant from the public health management corporation. playgrounds at 20th and lehigh in north philadelphia head start is an initiative for low income families. also a successful morning in center city at the annual turkey drop for families in need. the turkey drop, one of the largest one-day food gathering events in philadelphia, a lot of people came by to drop off turkeys and load up this truck. they have some impressive goals

in mind for this year's food drive, too. >> we're not talking about people looking for a handout, we're talking about people who can't make ends meet and with the holidays here, each and every year, all of our listeners and clients and people from all over the delaware valley make these great donations and hopefully before the day's out, we'll have over 10,000 turkeys maybe. >> that's a lot of turkeys. final totals will be announced monday, according to the radio station's website. state senator williams wants repercussions for anyone who covered up an e-mail scandal involving a state supreme court justice. senator williams held a news conference today urging the law license suspension for anyone who covered up the investigation of justice michael eakins' e-mails. you may remember attorney general kathleen kane made public some e-mails eakin received after she came under investigation for leaking grand jury testimony. senator williams spoke again today after he named the people

he says are part of the e-mail ring last week. >> it's clear that there are facts that are in public domain that represent the lowest of low values. those are those e-mails. we want to know who in this domain is involved. >> eakin released a statement last week saying he wants to send the matter to the courts immediately. we have this breaking news from sky force 10 where emergency crews are on the scene of this accident involving this overturned tractor trailer. you see this is in salem county. as we said, this accident in the southbound lanes of i-295 near exit 1-c, that overturned tractor trailer on the side of the road as crews work to get it out of the area. one lane blocked. police say there are injuries involved in this crash. we don't know the extent of the injuries. we're waiting for more details, but we'll keep an eye on it and bring you updates as we get them.

in the meantime, we continue to follow the latest developments on the state trooper who was shot on the vine street expressway today. here's what we know right now, most importantly, the trooper is in good condition, alert and talking. but two suspects are still on the run. the alleged shooter just 17 years old, is in custody. >> the incident began as a traffic stop that led to a police chase and fiery school bus crash. authorities had to close the vine street expressway in both directions for several hours. we do want to stress no children were onboard that school bus. when you see it up in flames, that is important. >> another bit of good news there. george, this interrupted plans for a lot of people today. >> reporter: yeah, jim, anybody who travels through philly knows the vine street expressway is really a major artery through here, especially on a week day morning. it has since reopened, so this is effectively a normal evening commute and gives you a sense of

the chaos this morning when it was closed. those sirens are the sound no one wants to hear on a crowded vine street expressway right at the end of tuesday rush hour. sky force 10, our cameras captured the crime scene itself, then widened out to show the traffic backups building along the ben franklin parkway. >> gridlock all the way down. she's down here for a doctors appointment, it's crazy. >> reporter: among the thousands caught in the chaos. across the city late this morning we captured traffic along spring garden barely crawling in either direction, side streets near 676 were gridlocked, too. >> i pulled over on the side of the road. >> reporter: confused drivers unsure where to go. >> we usually get on about 25th and we were detoured, the road was blocked. there's a lot more congestion than normal so we weren't sure what was happening. >> reporter: pedestrians felt

the impacts, as well, and some witnessed the unfolding commotion as they walked the parkway area. iris is visiting from boston. >> i just saw a lot of police barricades and cop cars, wasn't really sure what was happening. >> reporter: even into the early afternoon, detours and closures lingered. leaving this 676 onramp near 8th street clogged with cars just arriving into the city. this morning crash and fire leaving almost a full day of impacts. and if you think about that crash shutting down the vine street expressway at 9:30 this morning, the expressway staying closed until 1:30, you could imagine how three hours of closure would spread delays around this entire area. live above the vine street expressway tonight, i'm george spencer, nbc 10 news. >> all right, george. and take a look at the picture of the crash scene on the vine street expressway. a witness sent us these images after witnessing the crash.

are above a certain level, they can't be making snow and they are not going to be making snow on friday, i'll tell you that, but later in the weekend, parts of next week, they got a chance. all right, we have a warming trend coming that's going to be peaking on black friday. thanksgiving travel in general is going to be pretty good, and friday could be setting some high temperature records in parts of the area. we have a mix of clouds and sun out there right now. 50 degrees, wind north/northwest at 10 miles an hour, so it's not as windy as it was yesterday and certainly not as cold. 44 in allentown, 45 in pottstown. places in the 30s at this time yesterday. so some improvement there for those of us wanting some warmer weather. 50 degrees in millville, 51 in dover. warm spot at the moment. and it's going to cool down tonight with the clearing skies, very light wind, down to 23 in allentown, 25 reading, 27 in pottstown, 33 in philadelphia,

and each morning for the rest of the week is going to be a little bit warmer than the previous morning. it's a dry week, we have some fair weather clouds from time to time, but not a whole lot of moisture in the eastern half of the country. this is what would be the satellite and radar, but we don't really see a whole lot there. for the thanksgiving forecast, it could be some early clouds in parts of the area, but in general it's pretty good. philadelphia 44 degrees at 9:00 a.m., with some clouds, and then more sunshine by noon. lehigh valley a little bit cooler, but as you notice, nowhere near as cold as it will be tomorrow morning. there we are in philly at 3:00, 62. south jersey, especially near the shore, cooler because the winds are going to be coming in off the ocean. i do expect dry weather there and dry weather for the rest of the week pretty much. there's friday at 10:00 p.m., the total accumulated rain according to this, the computer

model, zero. and as we go into thanksgiving day, here comes the milder air, and it is warmest on friday. then here comes some colder air on saturday and into sunday. nothing extreme. we're not seeing major changes in the weather pattern. this is still going to end up being one of the warmest novembers ever recorded in the philadelphia area and surrounding areas, too. 33 in philadelphia, 23 in some of the coldest suburbs during the day tomorrow we're going to be seeing a lot of sunshine. on the cool side, but seasonably cool. average high for this time of year, about 53. and not much wind at all. seven-day forecast up to 62 on thanksgiving day. that's nearly ten degrees above average, even warmer than that on friday. allentown is one of the places with a good chance of setting the record. their record is only 62. then on saturday we could be in the 50s in the morning and then

dropping into the upper 40s during the afternoon. just a chance of some showers. i think the best chance of rain over the next week is going to be monday and into tuesday. and look at tuesday warming up again. all right, glenn, we have this just into nbc 10. this is our first look at the pennsylvania state trooper who was shot today. patrick casey is his name, shot after pulling a driver over on the vine street expressway. this is a breaking news story we've been covering all afternoon. good news here is, he's in good condition at the hospital after he was shot in the shoulder. he's expected to spend the night at the hospital. as we continue this story, we have a live crew at the state police barracks right now and will have an update coming up at 4:30. they were in a war zone, but one group of journalists was not prepared for this.

a missile landed near their car and the whole thing was caught on camera. take a look. according to the russian defense ministry, the journalists were headed to the front lines when the missile landed. they were taken to a hospital at the russian military base. they are expected to be okay. russia began bombing isis militants in syria back in september. closer to home, people in hoboken, new jersey, could be without water service through

thanksgiving. crews have been working to repair a water main that broke sunday morning and the 36-inch valve that failed sunday night. a number of water tankers have been moved to the area so residents can get clean drinking water. firefighters rescued a dog from a row home fire overnight. look at that. this is the scene at 22nd and burke street. everyone made it out safely, dog included. they are still trying to determine what caused the fire. thanksgiving, as you know, right around the corner and for one local school this year has a bit more meaning. >> westchester university's marching band is taking a trip to new york to take part in the annual macy's day parade. they got a champions sendoff today, the 200-plus musicians boarded buses to head to the big apple. westchester's squad, one of only ten marching bands from across the country to take part in the thanksgiving day parade. tune in to nbc 10 for all the parade action. our coverage begins thursday at 9:00 a.m.

girl says you wanted to talk about something? >> yeah, i wanted to talk about training. >> training, i don't do that stuff no more. >> get ready for the return of rocky. tomorrow the newest film in the rocky franchise is set to open. it's called "creed." the movie reimagines rocky as a reluctant trainer for the son of his oldest rival, apollo creed. so nice to see him on the screen again. earlier this month, here he was, stars of the film, including sylvester stallone and michael b. jordan visited the art museum steps to promote the film and it was shot, of course, here in philadelphia. imagine this, waiting ten years for a home. >> that's how long the waiting list is for families trying to get into philadelphia's public housing. >> if you and your son got a home, what would that mean? >> oh, god.o1t so much. so much.

nbc 10 continues to follow breaking developments on the shooting of a pennsylvania state trooper. trooper patrick casey is in good condition right now and is expected to make a full recovery. casey and two other troopers attempted to stop a suspect's car on the vine street expressway for expired registration. >> the 17-year-old suspect allegedly shot at trooper casey while he was still in his cruiser. hitting casey in the shoulder. >> count on nbc 10 for the latest updates on the suspect and the officer's condition, also look at more witness photos and videos taken at the scene on

nbc10.com. ten years, that's how long the average family waits for a home with the philadelphia housing authority. >> the nbc 10 investigators found while low income and homeless families wait, some families are allowed to live in these properties while earning more than $100,000 a year. we had a lot of questions about this, so investigative reporter mitch blacher took them straight to the housing authority. >> reporter: if you and your son got a home, what would that mean? >> oh -- so much. >> reporter: she is like so many working mothers trying to keep a roof over her son's head. >> first i want to try to do it on my own, bills were too crazy. i couldn't afford it. >> reporter: together they live between friends' homes and shelters, hoping the philadelphia housing authority has a place for them soon. how long have you been on the waiting list? >> for five years now, going on

six. >> reporter: families wait an average of ten years for a spot to open. as they wait, we sorted through lists through the department of housing and urban development. in philadelphia, at least 181 families living in public housing earn more money than they are supposed to. 13 make six figures. the top earning family makes $160,000 a year. >> i think if you were making over the threshold to be eligible for public housing, you should be gone. >> reporter: mayor-elect jim kenney wants public housing to go to those who need it most. excuse me, how are you? after weeks of trying to schedule an interview with the ceo of philly's housing authority, we met up with him at the agency's monthly board meeting. i'm wondering what you have to say to the folks on that ten-year waiting list who see 181 spots that could be open. >> it couldn't be open. i believe that they are serving an important purpose. i believe that the fact that they have achieved some level of success while being in pha, i

want to continue to encourage that. >> reporter: kelvin jeremiah told us the over income families make up a small percent of the people living in pha housing, saying the families help the housing authority to pay the bills. >> we want those families in public housing, frankly because they pay more in rent. >> reporter: but according to pha's own website, rent makes up a small portion of the agency's $371 million budget. most of its money comes from the department of housing and urban development, which gave philly's housing authority more than $100 million this year. in september, hud leadership encouraged jeremiah and other public housing directors across the country to use the taxpayer money for, quote, those most in need of deeply affordable housing. a hud spokesperson told us, "public housing authorities have the discretion to evict families for being over income." 13 people over $100,000 in public housing. should they be in public

housing? >> i think we offer a whole host of programs for them that would allow them -- >> reporter: they make $100,000. do they need public housing? >> i would say they are not in the class of public housing, they are paying market rate or near market rate for those houses. >> reporter: jeremiah says some families pay as much as $1,000 a month. the mayor-elect says once he's sworn in, he plans to act. >> first we have to approach the housing authority board that will deal with these issues and figure out how we remove people who are abusing the system. >> reporter: mothers like her hope it will improve her family's chances. >> if this is your job, you got hired for, do your job. let's make a change, let's make a difference. you can start with me. >> reporter: now, a department of housing and urban development report found there are 164 over income families in philly public housing. since the report the number is

more like 181. statewide pennsylvania has at least 750 over income families living in public housing, the majority right here in philadelphia. for the investigators, i'm mitch blacher, nbc 10 news. back now to our continuing coverage of that state trooper shot in philadelphia. nbc 10's deanna durante now getting new information on the suspect involved in all this. >> deanna joins us live from belmont with an update. what did you find out? >> reporter: one of the suspects that we can now keep in mind originally investigators say there were four men inside that car when it was originally stopped and we've been given a picture just now of a man police want to identify. take a look at this picture, police don't have a name but they want to track him down. they say he's an hispanic male between 18 to 20 years old, he's got a dark blue cast on his right arm and on his left arm he has a tattoo sleeve. we're also told he was wearing a dark blue hat with a light blue

star on it. again, this is the fourth person that police are trying to track down after this morning's shooting that injured a state trooper. this is the aftermath that tied up traffic for hours. pennsylvania state police say a 17 year old is responsible for shooting a state trooper. the car he was driving crashing into the back of a school bus, then catching on fire. >> juvenile is a shooter. i believe the other one we have in custody is 19. >> reporter: investigators say they are still trying to understand what happened in the minutes before that shooting. they say it started as a traffic stop. four people were outside the car, one was placed in handcuffs near 76 and university. >> one of those three occupants jumped back into the vehicle and fled the scene. the troopers, that would be trooper patrick casey, trooper timothy jeter and trooper william evans pursued the suspect. >> reporter: patrick casey tried to block the car. >> the suspect began to fire at trooper casey. >> casy was shot in the shoulder

and should be home by thanksgiving. the suspected shooter is being interviewed tonight. the charges against the 17 year old, police say, will be extremely serious. >> i would imagine attempted homicide charges. >> reporter: again, let's recap, investigators have a 17 year old they believe is the suspected shooter. they've also taken into custody for questioning a man believed to be 19 years old. two more people they are looking for, a third person they have identified, they are out looking for and that fourth man, the man you saw the picture of, that man tonight police want to identify and they want to track him down. also we can tell you that parents of the 17 year old are here at state police barracks, say they were not originally told why they were called here, but police needed to interview their son and they have been taken upstairs to meet with their son and police at this hour. that's the latest, deanna durante, nbc 10 news. well, i've got a few chilly

they are meant to protect your baby from hitting their head on the railing, but a new study finds crib bumpers may do more harm than good. it find it may put infants at risk of injury and death from suffocation. previously reported 48 deaths due to crib bumpers, from 1985 to 2012, but after reviewing data from other sources, researchers found an additional 32 bumper related deaths during that same time period. the deaths occurred with both thick and thin bumpers. it was an nbc 10 investigators exclusive. an alleged burglary in progress. the video shows state troopers there watching the whole thing. next, our legal expert weighs in on what happened.

people came and invaded my home with the help of the state police. >> we're taking a deeper look into an nbc 10 investigators exclusive. yesterday we showed you this surveillance video of a man breaking through the glass door of a home while state troopers watched the whole thing. the owner of this home tells nbc 10 the man was breaking in, but he and the woman with him tell a very different story. we do know this, this case involves a divorce, the home owner's son is divorcing the woman in the video. the home owner says the woman in the video never lived at the home. >> the nbc 10 investigators asked state police a lot of questions about that video. we are still waiting for many of the answers. we have asked our legal expert to give us his perspective. he joins us now. enrique, let's take another look at this video. we can see a man who is the cousin of the woman involved in the divorce throwing something at the glass to break it. two state troopers watch as he

continues to break down the door. he then walks inside with the woman and, as you can see, the state troopers follow behind. enrique, we spoke with the lawyer for the woman in the video and said the woman previously lived in the house and called police because she was locked out. also she showed proof she lived there. if that was the case, would that be okay to allow someone to break into the home and without the owner's permission? >> you have to look at perspective here. the first thing you said, this was involving a divorce, anyone knows a divorce tends to get messy. this isn't a clear black or white situation. we don't know what takes place before the video. obviously, the state police heard enough or were given enough information. these people called the police and asked them to meet them there in order to make entrance into the property, so the police must have felt comfortable enough with the information that they heard that what was taking place right in front of their eyes was not actually a crime. >> there's even more video that

shows the man and woman taking items out of the house, again, while police were standing by and watching that. the woman's lawyer tells us she only took items that belonged to her, but the owner disputes that. what do you think about that decision by the troopers even if they did believe the woman lived there to allow items to be taken out? >> well, the troopers have to use discretion in situations like this. as a defense attorney, if i had a krient tell me they were trying to get their stuff out of the house, took a crow bar to bust the window out, then the police came, you can believe it the client is getting arrested. in a situation like this, you would tell the client, hey, you should have called the police, you should have insisted and asked for the assistance of the police in a situation like this. this is what they did. these individuals believe that was their stuff and they had a right to get their stuff. in doing that, they called the police, did the things that you should do in a situation like this. now, it looks as though they are carrying their stuff out. that's a decision between, you

looking pretty good, as you'll see, and some possible record warmth on friday in a couple of spots at least. we have a mix of clouds and sun just as we're getting into sunset here, 50 degrees, wind only ten miles an hour and the humidity is pretty low. that will allow the temperature to drop nicely. 50 degrees today, 52 wednesday, 62 thursday, 67 on friday. how about that for your black friday temperature? 44 in doylestown and in allentown now. 45 in coatesville, pretty chilly. cooler than average for this time of the year, but it's not as cool as yesterday. 49 in wilmington, 47 in mount holly, 46 in trenton. and 50 degrees in lewes, 51 in dover is the warm spot right now. later on tonight, temperatures dropping into the 20s across much of the area. low 30s in philadelphia, 36 degrees in wildwood as the skies clear.

we have some clouds around, but there's no precipitation. and there isn't going to be during the night tonight or tomorrow when things are pretty quiet around the eastern two-thirds of the country. what about travel as we go to the west, harrisburg looking good, pittsburgh looking good. temperatures above average throughout the area. and then heading up to the poconos, could be some morning flurries on thanksgiving. otherwise just a little bit of fog thursday morning. now if you're headed in the other direction towards baltimore and washington, nice and sunny in both places and also looking dry up towards new england. new york city and also in boston. temperatures above average for all of those places. as far as rainfall this week, i showed you one computer model earlier, here's another one. this one takes us through saturday with no rain.

so the chances of anything significant before the end of the weekend are pretty low. 33 for the low in philadelphia tonight, 23 north and west. that's not too far away from average for this time of the year. little bit below. this is right around average. low 50s for the high tomorrow. wind not much of a factor. more sunshine than today. then 62 degrees, some morning fog and clouds perhaps, then some afternoon sunshine helping the temperature go up there. friday will be the warmest day. 67 degrees in philadelphia, now the record in philly is 73. the record in allentown is only 62. so some places have a better chance of getting the record than others. then temperatures fall saturday, just a chance of a couple of showers. the best chance is monday and into tuesday as temperatures climb again. as the holidays approach we know about the naughty list and the nice list, but there's another list parents need before

small business saturday will have an historic twist in delaware. nbc 10 in old new castle today. promoting the state's underground railroad byway trail and the discounts along it. the trail connects historic spots, including where harriet tubman and others led slaves to freedom. a warning for anyone holiday shopping for children. >> toys that could pose a hazard for kids. the annual trouble in toyland report was released today.
