6:03 pm

6:06 pm
definitely coat weather if you stepped outside at all today. >> chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here. glenn, so many people headed out of town wanting and needing good weather. >> yes, they've got good weather today and going to have good weather tomorrow and they are going to have good weather on thanksgiving day. we've got dry conditions throughout the area. it's not as cold as it was yesterday. 47 degrees right now. we're into the low 40s, allentown, 36 degrees in millville, 38 atlantic city and nashville with clear skies, light winds, and humidity, but most places are seven to 12 degrees warmer than at this time yesterday, so that certainly is a sign of things to come. that warmup will be continuing as we go into tomorrow, but for tonight, the temperature, of course, is going to drop pretty quickly going down to near 40 in philadelphia by 10:00 and farther in the suburbs, of course. as we head towards thanksgiving, it's not going to be anywhere near as cold.
6:07 pm
look at this, by 9:00 a.m. on thanksgiving day, 44 in philadelphia, 39 in the lehigh valley. temperatures getting up near 60. not quite as warm as the jersey shore with the wind coming in off the ocean. then it gets even warmer than that. i'll have the near record forecast with the rest of the weekend in the seven day in a few minutes. >> see you then. more than half a million people from our area expected to head out of town for the upcoming holiday, most by car, but if you're one of the thousands flying tomorrow, pack your patience. >> today is actually busier than tomorrow at philadelphia international airport. tim furlong shows us what travelers will face flying for thanksgiving. >> reporter: so the bad news is it's going to get busier here in the next couple hours as people try to fly in and out of here, but the good news is on what is now the second busiest travel day of the year, not tomorrow, so far so good here at the airport. so far the crowds have been manageable, everything seems to be running smoothly. found a couple people shocked by
6:08 pm
how short the lines were at ticketing today and at the tsa screening areas. most people seem to be staggering their travel time to avoid the crowd, people are also being patient with the security process. there are now bomb sniffing dogs walking around, but even in light of what happened in paris, if you know what's in your bag and not wearing a lot of metal, the security process will go smoothly, but staggered crowds and good flying weather has made a potentially nightmarish travel period a lot less painful, at least so far. at philly international airport, tim furlong, nbc 10 news. >> if you're traveling by train, the rail service is adding extra trains and more seats all week. in all, amtrak expects about 770,000 passengers during the thanksgiving travel period, about the same as last year. now to the latest on the terror in paris. president obama says the united states and france stand together to rid the world of the terror group isis. mr. obama meeting with french president francois hollande today at the white house.

6:15 pm
days after the terror attacks in paris. nbc 10's rosemary connors is in the digital operations center with how two women managed to get right on the sidelines with the heightened security there. rosemary? >> jacqueline, this happened two sundays ago. stevie and her cousin were in court today after they were arrested at the game and spent the night in jail. the two women say they took these photos from the field. stevie tells me she and her cousin were looking for a restroom that didn't have a long line when they found themselves in a tunnel leading out to the field. they spotted some security jackets, put them on, and watched most of the third quarter from a barricaded area on the field. that is until a senior security official they say realized that the two women did not have clearance to be there and turned them over to police. this morning, the two appeared in court, they both will go into a misdemeanor program, that means they have to serve 12 hours of community service in new jersey, plus pay court costs
6:16 pm
ìáhp &hc% stevi tells me she's surprised she and her cousin were able to get on the field and stay there for a time given the heightened concerns right after the paris attacks. we did reach out to the eagles for comment on this, they confirmed the incident but say they do not want to give specific comment on their security protocol. reporting live in the digital operations center, i'm rosemary connors, nbc 10 news. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> well, we started the week off pretty cool, but by the end of the week we're talking about potential record warmth. it's going to continue each day through the rest of the week. the thanksgiving travel overall is looking really good, and some possible records for warmth on friday. we continue to see the dry conditions out there, 47 degrees, there are clouds around, but no precipitation at all. wind north at 6 miles an hour, so it's much less windy than it was yesterday.
6:17 pm
the temperature down to 42 in allentown, we were in the 30s north and west for just about the entire day yesterday, so it's chilly, but it's not nearly as cold as it was yesterday. notice millville, atlantic city, nashville, temperatures down in the 30s. that happens when you have clear skies, light wind, low humidity like we're going to have all night tonight. so millville is going to be down to the mid 20s. allentown in the mid 20s. reading in the mid 20s, just barely to the freezing mark in philadelphia. so, yeah, another chilly night, but it's going to warm up a little bit more tomorrow than today. you can see some of those clouds across mostly pennsylvania, but this is a radar and satellite and if there was anything on the radar, it would be showing up. and we don't really see much in the eastern portion of the country either. the thanksgiving day parade looking okay. we have some clouds around.
6:18 pm
maybe a little fog. not too windy, you know, the wind is a big issue that they have to be concerned with because of all the balloons, but the wind will not be a problem this particular thanksgiving. as you can see with the temperatures, we're getting milder by the day, so thanksgiving day, look how warm it is from chicago all the way to boston and down to the south. cold air starts advancing, it gets towards chicago by friday, but we get a surge of warmer air, the record for friday in allentown is only 62 degrees. got a good chance of tying or breaking that one, but it's not going to last. colder air coming in for saturday, nothing too extreme, but temperatures may actually fall during the day, then some chilly air, seasonally chilly air for sunday before we start warming back up next week. so we can't really get a long time cold shot in this pattern.
6:19 pm
we're going to end up with one of the warmest novembers ever recorded in philadelphia, and as we start december, we're starting on a mild side, as well. not so mild overnight tonight, but then not quite as cold as it was last night. 33 for the low in philadelphia, 23 north and west, and during the day tomorrow, a lot of sunshine, not a lot of wind, and temperatures getting into the low 50s. we hit 50 for the high today. so at least 52 tomorrow, then a much bigger jump for thursday. could see some clouds and fog early in the day especially, and the sunshine will determine how warm we get. same story on friday. may be some clouds, but maybe not enough to prevent us getting up into the 60s. then temperatures fall from the 50s, into the upper 40s during the day saturday. just a chance of some showers. we got better chances coming up monday and into tuesday as temperatures start to climb again.

6:24 pm
playing anymore. really that's the truth. cats here, they really don't care." johnson later apologized and explained on wip radio. >> i was referring to thekk who really don't care as in they will voice their frustration at any time. when everyone's talking about getting booed, 7-7, still anybody's game. from that standpoint, that's what i was talking about. i'm not asking for sympathy or anything like that. i'd be booing, you know, if we got beat 45-17, that's understandable. >> yes, it is. no first downs, that's a reason to boo. as for what happened thursday with the eagles quarterback situation, here's john clark. >> sam bradford and mark sanchez have both taken reps with the starting unit here at eagles, and sam is hoping to play thursday. sam spoke for the first time since he was knocked out of the dolphins game. he said he suffered his third concussion of his career and he had memory loss this time.
6:25 pm
but he is out of the concussion protocol, so the issue now is the nonthrowing shoulder and how much pain he can play through, but he says it keeps getting better. >> you know, it's really hard to put a percentage on it. i know that it feels better today than yesterday. i was able to do some things out there yesterday, so hopefully it continues to get better in the next 48 hours. i think we need this game, you know, about as bad as we've needed one all year. like i said, i hope i'm out there. >> i'm not worried about it. you've got to prepare and take all the reps seriously, so that's what i've done all week and will be ready to go on thursday. >> the eagles have won 7 of 8 against the lions and they are 6-0 all time on thanksgiving. at the nova care complex, i'm john clark for comcast sportsnet. >> that is a little good news. that will do it for sports, i'm amy fadool from comcast sportsnet. right back after this.
