closures. tonight, we're there with large crowds as he arrives for dinner in philly. his voice impressed the pope. tonight we're with this local teen before he leaves for hollywood many the morning for a special honor. good evening. we begin with rain on the radar. we're in store for two more days of wet weather. maybe a slow morning commute with soggy roads out there. nbc 10 first meteorologist here. are we talking light rain or heavy downpours in the morning? >> most of the rain will be on the lighter side. it's getting more widespread. right now we have the rain increasing through the area. you notice it's mainly the green color which indicates lighter rain from philadelphia up into parts of burkes county. this rain will be lasting overnight tonight. we'll see more as we go into the

morning. as we zoom out here you see the wet pattern and more rain. that will be here for the morning commute tomorrow. take a look at future weather here. as we go overnight into the early morning hours. more rain moves in. by 7:00 a.m., temperatures right around 50 degrees the farther south you go. not very cold. through the afternoon we see more rain. for the latest part of morning commute you see more rain moving in. coming up, i'll show you the timing through the rest of your tuesday and also lasting into wednesday, straight ahead. new at 11:00, sky force 10 capturing flames in philadelphia just after 8:00 tonight. three people were injured here the two of them firefighters. they are expected to be okay. we're told the fire broke out at a garage where tires are stored preside . it took about a half hour to get this fire under control. one man was killed and another in critical condition after a shooting at philadelphia port richmond section. the men were shot on the walk on

frankford avenue. so far no arrests. no motive in this case. new casinos in the northeast could force more casinos to shut down. there are eight new casinos opening in the northeast in the next three years including a second one in south philadelphia near the stadiums. the firm predicts ac casinos could go bust. you talked to gamblers, what's their bet on the future of ac? >> reporter: they tell me they are drawn to convenience, and soon they will have more options.

>> i believe the whole city might close down because people isn't going to be traveling this far. they don't have to. >> reporter: a new wave of casino expansion in philadelphia, maryland and new york over the next few years means more pressure for ac is a s casinos to survive. professor bill thompson studies the casino industry at unlv. >> gamblers will go to the closest casino if all they want to do is gamble. in the northeast, all they promise is gambling. >> reporter: casey lives within walking distance of sugar house casino in south philadelphia. looks what's planned for the second casino. the developers op live hotel and casino plan to turn the said yum district into a gambling and

28th to get credit for december. the officer accused of chilling a chicago teenager is out of jail. this was the scene after he posted his $1.5 million. the officer was charged with first-degree murder after he shot 17-year-old laquan mcdonald a total of 16 times. the dash cam video from that day was released. the next hearing will be held december 18th. a final address to congress and to americans. lawmakers revealing president obama will deliver his state of the union speech on january 12th. it will be the earliest final state of the union by an outgoing president since 1977. the president has a busy tuesday morning in paris. mr. obama will hold a news conference to recap some of the issues from the climate change summit there.

students here now were not born when he put this school on the map. decades later, he continues to make an impact here and he has not forgotten where it all started. he's starting his long farewell in the city where more than 20 years ago the buzz first began. one of his first stops was his favorite near st. joseph's university. it didn't take long for fans to come in droves to get a glimpse. after more than an hour he left greeting onlookers. he said tomorrow's game is his last time playing against team this philly will be sentimental. >> feels good to be back. >> reporter: this is home. that may be most evident at lower high school. >> i've been in the business a long time and never seen a player like him.

regular school. >> there are a few teachers at the learning center. students do have the option to take classes online. bobby hill singing this solo for pope francis back in september. he was back at it tonight. bobby sang on tree lighting and on wednesday he'll fly to los angeles the named one of ebony magazine's power 100. he said he's excited for what's to come. >> it's such an honor and so humbling to be on a list with all those great performers and people and it's just great. just makes me happy to know that my voice can help other people.

morning. here is a look at the radar. a little more widespread. the green is showing where we have mostly light rain. nothing heavy right now. that light rain is pretty steady as it moves through. if we take a wider view you notice more rain around kentucky. that's the area that should be here by tomorrow morning. here is future weather. it's potomicking up on the rain. if you're leaving around 7:00 a.m., we expect still light rain kind of blanketing the area. then we go into the lunchtime area. by the middle of the day tomorrow, this rain continues through the afternoon. we do expect a bit of break in the rain. that's 5:00 p.m. then we go into wednesday and it moves in again. by 9:00 a.m. wednesday another rainy morning commute. two days in a row. make sure you have the umbrella. through the day wednesday, clouds will stay in place. we'll see periods of rain
