scared, hiding in the closet with two other people. >> more than a dozen wounded. >> tonight the manhunt for suspects turned into a gun battle in the streets. >> ending with two suspects dead. >> here is the latest at 11:00, we know a male and female suspect dressed in assault style clothing are dead tonight. a third person detained, 14 people were killed in the rampage, and 17 others wounded. there were three key locations involved today, the inland regional center in san bernardino, tips led police to a home in redlands, california. officers chased a vehicle from the home back to san bernardino, that's where a shootout left two suspects dead, just two miles from where the mass shooting happened. nbc10's keith jones is in our digital operations center, monitoring late developments for us. >> one of the suspects, a woman

her identity is not known. the s.w.a.t. team rammed a home, connected to the suspect less than an hour ago. not only does the suspect have assault weapons, and also handguns, but now the fbi's investigating if they left behind bombs. just minutes ago an apparent explosive device was found during a second sweep of the crime scene. you could see this bomb robot cautiously inspecting the device, we've learned that that robot has since left that device in the street. we're trying to figure out what happened with that device, what the conclusion was. this is all the related to a tragedy police are calling domestic terrorism. >> ambulances were just lining up -- >> victim after victim treated at the triage. 17 people total after this happened inside. >> two gunmen came in and opened fire on everybody, taking lives of innocent people in that building and nobody knows why. >> linda revis barricaded herself inside a conference room

with about 40 others. >> we all just started running and screaming and trying to get each other in one room to be safe. >> try to block the door and lock it. >> so that they couldn't get in. the shooters were around that area 37. >> police say 14 people were injured at the hands of at least two gunmen. >> i heard they were in a meeting or holiday party type event at the regional center, somebody did leave. but we have no idea if that is the person that came back. >> police travelled block by block going door to door before a deadly stand-off. >> we had multiple officers involved in the shooting. we have two suspects that are dead at the scene. one of them male, one of them female. >> a third person was detained, they don't know if they were involved. >> an officer was injured but he's expected to be okay. >> i know one of the big questions that will come up repeatedly, is this terrorism? >> i'm not willing to say we know that for sure. >> until then, local hospitals

deadly shooting in the u.s. since the sandy hook elementary school shootings three years ago, here's a grim map of national mass shootings which are defined as events where four or more people are shot. the nbc10 investigators pulled local numbers, they had 70 mass shootings in the past three years in pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware combined. this is still a developing situation in california. stay connected with the nbc10 news app overnight, we'll be on at 4:00 with the latest on the mass shootings in san bernardino. >> here at home, sky force 10 over more breaking news right now. a major backup on the schuylkill expressway right here. pennsylvania state police try to clear this three-car crash. one car was riding along the westbound lanes. this was near the montgomery drive exit when it flipped over the barrier and landed in the eastbound lanes. look at the backup here. one lane on the west side is getting by, drivers on the eastbound side, they're getting by on the shoulder right now.

>> new at 11:00, a developing situation at a southwest philadelphia high school. the principle is under investigation for what happened in a school hallway. randy gyllenhaal is here with that story. randy. >> the philadelphia school district is looking into this incident at bartram high school. the principle confronted a student today about what he was wearing to school. the school district tells us tonight, the president told the student to go home, to get his on form. and then they argued about this in the lobby. this principal shoves the student. the student wasn't hurt. the philadelphia police department is aware of this incident, the school district is going to handle it, and nobody was taken into custody. this is the second year on the job at bartram high school for abdul mohammed, we are told this principle will be reassigned pending the outcome of an internal investigation. live tonight, randy gillen hal,

nbc10 news. >> an ex-boyfriend heads to court on charges he killed his ex and her 3-month-old daughter. we first told you about the missing mother last night at 11:00, authorities found their bodies and arrested their suspect. tonight friends and family held a vigil outside their cumberland county church. >> dozens gathered in the chapel to honor the lives of ramirez and her 3-month-old daughter genesis. it's going to be -- >> ricardo confessed to killing ramirez and the baby on friday. sources say their bodies were recovered in a swampy area in fairfield township. >> santiago and ramirez have a son together. earlier this year, he was arrested for making terroristic threats. >> when you know the person personally, and you know something of their story.

back to san bernardino, california, two suspects dead after 14 people were killed today, 17 other people injured at a facility in san bernardino. the gunmen were on a mission in their words, and terrorism has not been ruled out. the mail and female suspects were wearing assault style clothing when they were killed. a third person is in custody. police are searching a nearby home for clues. the s.w.a.t. team is using caution, concerned the home could be booby trapped. another check on this breaking news, on the schuylkill

we have a few light showers through parts of new jersey, and just off the shore of new jersey. even through parts of delaware, that's mostly down to sussex county, along the delaware beaches here. any rain through new jersey, kind of spotty. it is on the lighter side, it will be gone in time for the morning commute. >> there's the cold front bringing all the rain. it brought all the rain today. that's going to clear up, that's going to move through tonight. we're going to see our conditions improve. this is future weather here. cold front is going to swing through. the clouds are going to gradually clear. look what happens tomorrow morning, a pretty strong northwest wind. that's going to blow in some lake effect snow showers. the higher elevations, carbon and monroe counties, maybe even the lehigh valley, could see some snowflakes. if you are in these areas by the early part of the morning commute, don't be surprised if you see snowflakes blowing in. take a look at the wind gusts tomorrow. even later in the afternoon, and evening, we expect winds gusting
