not the other way around. ♪ hiv, hepatitis. herpes, anything, we don't know. >> kids, stuck with needles at school, the precautions doctors are urging families to take. but we begin with a massive fire. it took 70 firefighters to contain the flames. good evening. >> the fire was so big that the cherry hill fire department launched a drone. >> we are live at the scene. what is going on right now? >> reporter: well, look behind me, firefighters are still on the scene at this point, they say they have all of the hot

spots out so the investigation can begin. what is clear though, is that the car repair shop is a total loss. >> it was real big. it was going through the roof. there was a lot of explosions. >> reporter: it didn't take long for flames to consume precision plus auto repair. fire started around 6:00 in one of the maintenance bays. allison lives across the street. >> the smoke was completely black. the smell of it was disgusting. >> reporter: buy the time the firefighters arrived the building was fully solinvolved. >> there was a delay in notifying the fire department. >> reporter: the delay made battling flames more difficult. they sent up a drone to survey what they were up against. >> that was the biggest problem t gas, and whatever material is inside there. >> reporter: it took 70 firefighters to battle the intensity of the flames.

it took hours to get under control. >> now, there are two businesses in an apartment next door to precision plus, the resident will have to stay somewhere else. crews hope to reopen the road by about 11:30. nbc 10 news. >> now, to a story you saw first on 10. young children getting tested for diseases, after a classmate poked them with needles at school. >> we are with live at philadelphia school district headquarters. randy, do we know where the child got the needles? >> reporter: it appears that she brought them from her home to her north philadelphia school and started to pass them out to other students. some of the students poked themselves and others poked others around them. that the point we don't know whether the needles were clean or dirty. >> seven-year-old, ahmad rause

is back to normal after being rushed to the emergency room, he is one of the five students pricked by a needle. >> we were outside at recess, he came up to me and poked me. >> it's a small red dot on the back of his leg, and when the nurse wiped it off, i seen blood come out of it. >> reporter: his mom showed us pictures of the needles. what are we seeing here? >> that is needles with caps on it. >> reporter: they appear to be medical devices but it's unclear where they were from and whether they have been contaminated. >> that is what scares me. i don't know, hiv, help p hiv, . >> reporter: the school district is investigating five children. they were taken to the hospital for tests. parents are being reminded to lockup dangerous item thes. >> unfortunately at that age, kids don't know what they are dealing with. if it's dangerous or not.

>> hopefully, maybe, god, it was a family member that had diabetes and need it for that and it was a brand new needle. >> reporter: she said her son was chased by a student holding a needle, she is using it as a teachable moment. >> she said, they are dangerous. and some of them might be poison. >> reporter: at this point, the school district said there's no signs of any infection or serious injuries. but the philadelphia police department has launched their own investigation to figure out exactly how the child got the needles in the first place. live at the philadelphia district headquarters. >> reporter: the man accused of killing three people in a planned parenthood clinic stunned the are colorado courtroom today, robert deere called himself "a warrior for the babies." he seemed to remove any doubt about his motive for the shooting. >> kill the babies that the planned parenthood does. nobody will know the amount of

a -- pointed out donald trump used an incorrect twitter handle. and we will have what ali has to take about it in a few minutes. >> the search is on for a suspected drug dealer and aspiring rap artist. he is accused of threatening a witness scheduled to testify against him and authorities say he had the help of his girlfriend when she worked at the county courthouse. an arrest warrant is out for kenneth wylie tonight, chanel turner is his girlfriend. investigators say the day before the hearing she was able to are track down a witness, set to testify against him. pru prosecutor say she told the witness to not show up for court. and the d.a. said is he appeared in this youtube video

that dramatized killing an informer. >> he got away with murder. that's what the father of a young teaching student said happened in a philadelphia courtroom today. he was murdered seven years ago, his killer took his ipod after shooting him steps away from his home. after today's not guilty verdict, the family gathered at the spot where beau was shot to death and they are looking for a higher justice now and he will be in prison. but the thing is, he thinks he got away with something and he got over and that is it. >> jones shouted his thanks to the jury after his acquittal, but he is serving a life science in the other murder. >> philadelphia marked a solemn anniversary, there was a vigil to remember the passing of joyce craig she was the first female firefighter to die on the job.

she lost her life battling a fire one year ago. lieutenant craig was an 11-year veteran of the philadelphia fire department. >> pennsylvania lawmakers are moving ahead with a process that could see attorney general kathleen cain removed from the office. there will be a january 12th hearing for her. that will focus on whether she can perform their duties with a suspended law license. the senate could vote to have her removed. her license was suspended awaiting trial on charges she leaked secret grand jury information and lied about it. >> still, no deal in harrisburg. tonight, the governor said he remains committed to a budget deal negotiated. they passed a significantly smaller budget. i+wó)kcno carrier0

above that. today, we were 11 degrees above it. tomorrow, low 60s and friday, mid 60s and saturday near 70, so going in to the weekend, we could have areas that are around 20 degrees above normal for this time of the year. so, yeah, it will be warm this week, compared to where we should be. as far as the overnight temperatures we will not get the cold, we will bottom out at 40 for most of the area and then by 1:00 p.m. already at 57 degrees. that is not the high temperature, that will hit later in the afternoon. we do expect the low 60s tomorrow. locally we have the clouds around, we have the fog in the forecast, off to the west, light rain showers, some of these could make it in to our western counties, it would be with sprinkles or light showers. overnight tonight, but they will be gone by the time you wake up tomorrow morning. >> here is weather, you see them ba passing through, you see the warm air in place, low 60s and

the wind direction is from the southwest. that was a warmer wind direction, so we will be at about the mid 60s and then we go in to the week, we will be warmer for saturday and sunday. right around 70 degrees, keeping that unseasonably warm pattern in place. here is the weekend forecast. compared to the record high temperature, the record high saturday and sunday is 65 degrees. this is just for the philadelphia area. saturday, the forecast high 68 and sunday, it will be 70. many areas will be close to record highs over the weekend. and for the army/navy game, it will be sunny and warm, kickoff 3: 3:00. tonight, not as chilly, temperatures mid to low 40s. then we will see fog clear in the morning and a warmer day, low 60s and you see the warm up, all the way in through the weekend. and we are talking about a dry pattern too, the next rain chance won't be until monday.

there we go. >> reporter: here is demarco at practice. chip said he is frustrated he only got eight carries in the win at new england. chip said that demarco talked to him about the frustrations and demarco sat next to the owner on the team plane and talked to him too. but, he said demarco did not seek out a meeting. chip said that the birds will continue to use all lall the ru backs that give them the best chance to win. >> i know he is frustrated. we want everyone on the same page, i want to talk to him. he knew coming in like we knew coming in what we were doing to do. we never had a discussion that we were going to change our system. the only discussions we had, this is why i like demarco, we all talked about winning. >> reporter: three's a crowd and now ryan mathews looks like he will be back from his concussion.
