christmas. heavy down pours pounded parts of south jersey. drivers had to deal with serious ponding on the roads. this is a live look at center city from our view across the river in camden. . here's a live look at i 95 tonight from our wells fargo camera. a lot of people heading home after spending the holiday with family. and glen. it looks a whole lot better than it did a few hours ago. that rain has moved out. we have. >> areas of fog now p. the roads of course are still wet but we set another record high temperature third in a row, we set it on wednesday, we got one thursday, today we tied the record with 68 degrees but nowhere near that during the day tomorrow and then we may set

another record on sunday. 62 in philadelphia and in the 50s north and west. we don't see very much on the live radar anymore. a few sprinkles in new jersey but we did see really heavy rain in northern delaware and south jersey earlier this evening. now we wait for the next area that's going to be moving up and looks like it's possible it could effect the eagles game by tomorrow night . i don't think the fog is going to be much of an issue in the morning but the rain will be and more record warmth. we'll get into the details on both in a few minutes. well, what a day to enjoy all of those christmas presents outside. drew smith talk would folks

spending the rainy but warm holiday in philadelphia. >> reporter: fog obscured some of the sky line tonight but one thing stuck out, the scroll showing christmas temperatures in the 60s. >> i love it. it's not snowing, it's not cold, no jacket. sfwlr >> reporter: this movie theater had the air conditioning on. >> it's christmas day. so, the movies are a perfect option. >> reporter: before the heavy rain moved in, people tried their new year's resolution early, exercise. >> it's nice on christmas to do something noncommercial and outside. >> reporter: at the art museum people went up the steps to get a look at the tree. and he's visiting the city and the rain didn't stop him from snapping some pictures.

christmas. these are hardly typical winter sites. the moon is full tonight and it's the first time we've had a full moon on christmas since 1977 and won't happen again for anther 19 years and many of us will have to wait that long to see a christmas moon because it's hard to see in our area because of the fog. and thousands of people are in need every single today. today, they served up not just a hot meal but had a surprise for children. and here the story from west philadelphia. >> reporter: ministries are spreading joy to families all across the city. >> while we're here tonight, there's a whole other group in center city doing the same

each year. nbc 10 news. thousands of people came out to watch a christmas day tradition. a reenactment of george washington crossing the delaware. some even showed up to washington crossing state park in shorts for the event that is now in its 63rd year. it's an annual tradition for some families, braving cold and snow, but of course not this year. >> scarf, mittens, hat, bundled up and boots and we'd have to get through the snow and usually ice and it was freezing. >> reporter: some peopleal told us they had stayed away in years past because of the cold. thousand of catholics marked this holy day at the vatican where they listened to the pope's christmas address.

of time for this time of year. we've had record highs third day in a row across these parts of the area. it's definitely going to be cold this saturday. no record highs for saturday. and record warmth coming back on sunday. that looks to be a good bet because our record is only 64. and the official high for tomorrow is going to curve just after midnight tonight. humidity is high and there's fog in the area. temperatures in the mid-50s, 61, atlantic city. atlantic city set a record today as well. 71 degrees. in atlantic city. at the airport, that was the biggest record that we got. 71 there. we also beat a record in mount pocono, 63 degrees. tied the record in philadelphia of 68 degrees.

well, we have the rain coming across the area. this is 5:15 this afternoon. we had this band east to west and everything was going right along that same line and so that meant some parts in the area kept getting the heaviest rain over and over again. it's pretty much cleared out now but we're left with this band of some very heavy rain. the estimates of the rainfall from smurnau, delaware to bridge stn, new jersey, three to four inches of rain locally. there was localized flooding and there's more on the way. down south, this is the next system coming up and it could potentially effect the eagles rain. i don't expect heavy rain but there is a chance of light rain

any time before during or after the game. so, take your rain gear with you. temperatures may actually rise a little bit during the game, which is unusual. and go through the night tonight, the temperatures drop to near 50 degrees and then look what happens during the day. now when you wake up, it's not going to be that cold but i'mit warm up tomorrow, hardly a single degree. and into the evening, we have this patchy light rain around, as you can see and temperature still going nowhere. until sunday when it really goes up again. so, the patchy fog's going to be lifting as the cooler air comes in. not cold, 52 for the low and that's as high as it's going to get to. cloudy, colder, a chance of a light rain, especially towards the evening and then sunday, record warmth comes in.

actually had to turn the air conditioning on in the car today. >> and it's still pretty warm out there. it's still in the 60s in most of the area. it's going to be kind of mild when you get up. the low for saturday is 52 and the high is 52. the temperature is going nowhere tomorrow. so, it will feel a little chi chillier and then it goes way up on sunday. there and a chance of light rain for the eagles game. of course, we'll have updates on that during the day tomorrow and then temperatures back to the 50s and that's still close to 10
