limitations runs out. hours later cosby arrived stumbling as he walked inside. minutes later he went to the police station and took about 15 minutes for officers to fingerprint him and take this mug shot. after that cosby got into the black suv that took him to his estate. tonight we have live team coverage on the cosby case and its implications. we begin with our reporter who's been on this story all day. di ana, you have new details about the allegations against cosby. >> reporter: in h court filings, prosecutors say cosby not only apologized to his victim's mother, he also told police that he gave his victim ben the drill back in 2004 in his elkins park

home. he was dressed casually. he held a brown briefcase and a contain. he made no statements about the case or the crime he's charged with committing. >> today, after examination of all the evidence, we are able to seek justice on behalf of the victim. >> that justice, 12 years in the making. police say it happened on a winter night in early 2004. the victim came to cosby's elkins park home. cosby told police in 2005 he gave the woman ben dribble and according to the woman's mother when she confronted him by phone cosby admitted he fondled his daughter for sexual gratification and offered to play for therapy for the woman. pennsylvania authorities were contacted in 2005. prosecutors decided not to go forward back then. it was only when the civil suit

became public in july and other victims came forward that investigators reopened the case. >> reopening this case was our duty as law enforcement officers with a sworn obligation to up hold our constitutions and to up hold the law. >> i asked himd for comment as he ran away in court. he declined. his bail money will be wired to a court account, $100,000, 10% of the one million bail. >> hecklers shouted at cosby outside the police station today. they're not the only ones weighing in on the case. tonight we checked in with

students at temple university where cosby was an icon until the sex scandal broke. >> i mean, i feel everybody -- hopefully people don't look at him like a monster. >> i feel like he should have been dealt with a long time ago. so it's good that now they finally got him and he's getting kind of what the he deserves. >> we spoke to the mayor about today's events. >> montgomery county parties believe that this is a credible case and they're bringing it and he needs to show -- his lawyers need to show he didn't do it and if he did do it and the jury finds him guilty, he should go to jail. drugging a person, having sex with them, that's pretty bad. >> the women's project says prosecutions like the one taking shape against cosby are difficult but they're showing that even the rich and powerful are subject to the criminal justice system. the big question is what happens

next? tonight we're looking at the legal strategy that could keep bill cosby out of prison. our reporter is live at his home. >> the affidavit includes pretty incriminating testimony from bill cosby. investigators say some of that evidence could be thrown out. testimony bill cosby gave in 2005 during a civil lawsuit filed by andrea constand was made public this summer. it's that evidence montgomery county district attorneys are using to reopen the criminal indication. >> there's not a question in terms of pills being provided to her. there's not a question as to the occurrence of what went on of the digital penetration. >> under oath, cosby admitted to giving constand pills and engaging in what he described as

consenting skpablgts at his home. >> he was given immunity by montgomery county district attorney's office and then he went forward and gave up his right to remain silent and testified at a deposition. >> incriminating testimony that came after district attorneys initially decided not to charge him on the allegations. it's key evidence that cosby' attorneys will have to try to have thrown out, making it harder to prosecute. >> he wouldn't have probably testified at all. >> cosby said in a statement that they were politically motivated and we intend to mount a vigorous defense and this unjustified charge. le now, the outcome of this case is very crucial, especially since more than 40 women have come out and accused cosby of similar sexual assaults.

. >> it is generally against nbc 10's policy to name sexual assault victims but tonight andrea constand's lawyer says she feels gratified. they say she is receiving communications from other alleged victims. the lawyer says constand is, in her words, hopeful that her patience has encouraged other victims to come forward. 55 women have made accusations against the entertainer. those cases started to come to light after constand filed her civil suit. that will civil suit was settled out of court. since then, allegations have piled up. tonight, gloria allred who represents 29 of the alleged victims says this has been a long time coming. the women she represents all tell a similar story. >> i was willing in 2005 to

the eagles no matter what here. chip said "i'm grateful to jeffrey lnks urie for allowing me to coach his philadelphia eagles for the past three seasons. my players mean the world to me. i will miss them very much and i will be rooting for them to achieve their dreams. here is chip leaving philly this afternoon. i spoke to malcolm jenkins in an exclusive zbroouf. he was -- interview. he was open that chip had a ladder time communicating his message and his vision to the players. >> you have to be flexible when it comes to dealing with nfl players and dealing with grown men in a locker room with a lot of different personalities. it's a lot of things that from a communications standpoint it just didn't translate or didn't really catch on with the players and obviously, everybody worked really, really hard to make it work and to keep it together.

sections of redfield street around 8:00 tonight. a male victim was shot in the head. the suspect remains on the loose. earlier today a man was killed during a struggle elsewhere on redfield street. police say it stemmed from an argument at an auto repair shot. the victim worked there. police are still looking for that gunman. dozens of families gathered in north philadelphia tonight to remember murder victims in this city. they held a candle light vigil at duckery school yard at su. a federal grand jury has charged the friend of one of the sap bernardino shooters of conspireing to give encouragement to terrorists. the attack left 14 people dead. marquez's arraignment is set for

a week from day. ethan couch's mother is on her way back to the u.s. from mexico this afternoon. she is accused of helping her son flee to mexico earlier this month. the 18-year-old is on probation for killing four people in a drunk driving accident in texas back in 2013. prosecutors there say the mother will be charged with hindering the 57 hengs of a juvenile. this time tomorrow night we'll be counting down the minutes until the new year. if you're looking for a great view of the fireworks, you don't have to look very much. keith jones reports from penn's landing. >> reporter: what better place. not only do you have ice skating but a place to stay warm and, oh, yeah, a great place to see the fireworks. shooting over the delaware river and slippery ice below your

forecast. how does it look? >> it looks a lot nicer than tonight looks. st rest of the weekend. the rain is moving out and it will be gone by daybreak. december's going to end mild. the record december, every single day with temperatures above normal. unheard of. and colder weather for the new year. nothing extreme. at least not to t start the month of january. it's a nasty night. we've got some drizzle, we got rain, we got fog. but it's warm. it's 51 degrees. the wind north-northwest at seven. the average high for this time of year, 41. it's 51 now. it's 45 in althat, 41 in moubt pocono, for trying out loud. mount holly and p wilmington, 55. so it's not exactly going to be a chilly start to the day. now, we have dense fog in parts

of the area, especially at mount poke oh know. other -- pocono. other parts about a mile or two, so there is going to be fog around for much of the night. by morning it will be improving. as the rain moves out, the wind is going to change and pick up a little bit. we still see mostly light rain, a little moderate rain in burlington county now, but that will be moving out. and some of this dry air from the west will be moving in. we'll actually see some sunshine during the day tomorrow. the temperatures of course, well above average, considering where they are right now. we're going to be getting into the 50s tomorrow most likely with a little bit of sunshine. that's going to set us up for a pretty nice new year's eve for fireworks. it's a little bit chilly as we head to midnight. then it's new year's eve. it's supposed to be kind of chilly. at least it won't be too windy, no precipitation. 38 degrees at midnight. for the mummers, pretty good,
