that he will vigorously defend his client, who was walked through these doors just a couple hours ago. still numerous questions as to how little brendan died and why. only nbc 10 cameras were there as 22-year-old d.j. creato is led by detectives inside the haddon township police department. he had nothing to say for himself when we asked. it's been three months since his little boy brendan was discovered dead by the cooper river and now prosecutors say this young father is to blame. it was d.j. creato's voice we heard the very day his son disappeared calmly dialing 911 to report what happened. >> didn't hear anything or see anything, nothing like that? >> no. i just woke up and he wasn't here. i don't know if he wandered out or what happened, i don't know where he is. >> reporter: in the days and weeks that followed, neighbors were reluctant to allow their children to trick or treat because there had been no arrest or cause of death on an autopsy or toxicology reports that came

back incomplete. creato was buried on october 23rd, a grand jury convened in early november in which the little boy's aunt testified about a documentary she made in college featuring brendan, a boy who had vanished and was later found dead. creato, who was silent today when we asked him what happened to brendan, will appear in court tomorrow. he is charged with first-degree murder and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. now, the mother of little brendan creato who shared custody of the child with d.j. has been extremely quiet throughout this ordeal over the past couple of months and we have not yet had the opportunity to speak with her today. meantime, d.j. creato will be arraigned in a camden county courtroom tomorrow afternoon at 1:30. i'm told the details of exactly what happened and how this little boy's death played out will be revealed before the judge tomorrow, and, of course, we will be there. i'm told his bail will be set at $1 million. live in haddon township, cydney long, nbc 10 news.

>> all right, cydney. we remember as the community came together to search for brendan after he disappeared. >> neighbors demanded answers from police as they waited for an arrest. >> deanna durante continuing our live team coverage in haddon township tonight. deanna? >> reporter: the home where brendan creato was last seen and his grandparents only a few blocks away, many homes here still have blue ribbons on the outside, including that of his grandparents here. we stopped at neighbors homes, many of them did not want to talk to us and some said they still have a lot of questions, they want to know what happened to that 3-year-old little boy. neighborhood was helping look for him. >> of course. i can't believe it was him either, everyone was searching. and helping. >> i'm not surprised, but that's just a feeling. >> people assumed it had to be a person because it didn't seem like a 3-year-old would end up at cooper by themselves. that was unlikely.

i don't really know what to think. >> reporter: many people tonight still asking more questions, not only here in the neighborhood, close to where that little boy was last seen and the park where his body was found, but on social media, many asking what happened, did they determine a cause of death. i did reach out to an attorney who was representing the grandparents at one point during the case, he tells me he still hasn't seen information from prosecutors, but yet he's hoping to have that information this evening. that's the latest reporting live in camden county, deanna durante, nbc 10 news. >> the mysterious death of the 3 year old has been on the minds of people in camden county for the past three months. we'll be in court tomorrow afternoon when creato has his first court appearance and live reports tomorrow for you starting on nbc 10 news at 4:00. to our weather now, feels about 40 degrees colder than yesterday. snow showers are on the way tomorrow, music to the ears of the folks in the poconos.

we could see our first flakes around the city, as well. >> maybe they won't have to make as much snow. glenn gw glenn "hurricane" schwartz joining us. glenn? >> they are going to need to make a lot of snow in the poconos, they had a lot of rain with temperatures in the 50s yesterday, but right now it is 17 degrees and they can make snow like crazy and all week is going to be some great conditions for them. it's 33 in philadelphia now, still in the 20s north and west, 26 in pottstown, reading and allentown, 28 degrees in millville. and with the clear skies and light wind, millville is going to be dropping really fast. it's 20 to 30 degrees colder than it was at this time yesterday, and when you add in the wind, it felt more like 40 to 45 degrees colder today. well, right now because the wind is diminishing a little bit, the wind chills, feels like temperature not quite as low as it was a couple of hours ago, but in mount pocono feels like it's 4. as we go through the night tonight, you can see how the

wind really calms down and the temperature goes down into the 20s, but it's coming up tomorrow as we may see our first snowflakes of the season. we'll show you that hour by hour, along with the rest of the seven day in a few minutes. developing tonight, bill cosby has filed a motion to dismiss all charges against him and disqualify the montgomery county district attorney's office from his case. in the motion cosby claims d.a. kevin steele illegally, improperly, and unethically charged him with sexual assault. cosby and his attorneys say the charges violate an agreement from former d.a. bruce castor back in 2005 when castor decided not to prosecute cosby. we are learning more about the man police say ambushed a philadelphia police officer last week. edward archer is a 2003 graduate of penn wood high school where he played football. now more than a decade later police say he shot officer jesse hartnett in his patrol car, claiming it was in the name of

islam. officer hartnett is still in the hospital in critical but stable condition. the police commissioner stresses hartnett's injuries are serious. >> he's a tough man, but when you think about the psychological impact this must have on him, now and in the days to come, you really have to keep him in your prayers. >> commissioner ross says hartnett still has more surgeries ahead. former philadelphia police commissioner charles ramsey's retirement didn't last long. just days and his new job is in wilmington to help that city fight crime. delaware bureau reporter tim furlong was the only reporter to speak to ramsey about his new job today and is joining us live from wilmington. tim? >> reporter: ramsey just retired from the force, i asked why didn't you go play golf like other retirees? said he chilled out for five days and that was enough. wilmington needs it. >> if i can be of some assistance to make the streets a

little bit safer, then i'm more than willing to do it. >> reporter: ramsey fought crime in philly, chicago, and d.c. after ferguson president obama hand picked him to lead a task force to improve police and community relations and now he agreed to help fight crime in wilmington. he'll be a paid consultant for the police department. >> we want to really take a deeper dive into who's responsible for committing some of the crimes here in wilmington, particularly the violent crimes. >> reporter: wilmington has broken its own murder records. there have been crime panels and experts and consultants here. the state said it will withhold funding if the mayor isn't more transparent with his crime plan. the mayor says ramsey is his solution, at least part of it. >> i felt when he left the philadelphia police department, it's time ""ñyt him to help us out. bringing in a super aide to show you the way. >> reporter: ramsey wants to look at specific crime patterns, wants to help police improve relationship with neighbors and show police leadership how to better use what they've got.

dorney served in the u.s. army during the korean war in the early '50s. he was seriously wounded by a missile. he received a bronze star and purple heart, but he never got the second medal for his injuries. his daughter says she didn't want to wait any longer for her dad to receive that honor. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> well, we've already set a record in philadelphia for going the longest time into the winter without a flake of snow. we may end that tomorrow. we've got an arctic blast that hit us last night and into today. could certainly feel the difference. may see the first flakes of the season at least in parts of the area tomorrow, then it's going to get even colder. another arctic blast on the way. right now the temperature is going down, it's 33 degrees, winds northwest at nine. relative humidity is pretty low and that could be an issue when some of the snow making it down to the ground. we hit a record yesterday with

the 65 degrees, only 35 this afternoon. 30 degrees colder, 42 tomorrow, then down to 29 on wednesday as the arctic air returns. right now temperatures are in the 20s across most of the area, 33 degrees in philadelphia. the wind not quite as strong as it was a couple of hours ago, so feels like temperatures are generally in the 20s, as well, except for mount pocono, which feels like 4. nothing on the radar close by, clear skies most of the day, but back to the west, that's a nice area of snow, generally on the lighter side around chicago and another area around cincinnati. it's upper air disturbance that's coming in during the day tomorrow, so let's see what the timing is. we go through the morning rush, no issues there. the temperatures below freezing. now by noontime, the poconos could see some of that light snow as the temperature drops below freezing. the rest of the area is going to be above freezing during the daytime hours tomorrow. so even if you see some of this

snow in the afternoon, it would melt on the roads. but now we're talking about after dark and there's allentown at 30 degrees with some snow. so, yeah, could accumulate a bit on grassy surfaces, and then it's over with as we go into the evening hours. now closer in to the philadelphia area and i-95 as we go through the night tonight, morning rush tomorrow, no issues, and then the temperature climbs up even into the low 40s. so it's going to take a while before there would be any kind of snow, even on grassy surfaces. that may come later in the afternoon and into the evening hours. there it is. first flakes of the season. clouding up tonight, 24 degrees for the low in the city, 14 in some of the colder suburbs. tomorrow it's cloudy, it's not as cold, and those afternoon snow showers, high temperatures in the low 40s, could start off as rain showers in some places, changing to snow showers. then much colder on wednesday
