investigatio investigation. >> we at the fbi level through our joint terrific task force are investigating the attack as a terrorist attack. >> that's fbi director james comey holding a news conference in center city. the fbi director saying there's no indication the suspect was part of a terror cell. he also said there's no indication that there are plans for another attack in the city and even though philadelphia police received a tip that the suspect was working with a group of radical men, the fbi says it is not looking for anyone else. tonight, local lawmakers held an emergency meeting for people who live near the site of the ambush. nbc 10's aundrea klein-tcline ts live and hundreds are zblrnd they're concerned on so many levels. state senator anthony williams tried to keep the focus on officer hartnett's shooting but the community made it clear it's even bigger than that.

>> jesse hartnett who is, i believe, still in the hospital, we want to make sure he knows that we thank him. we appreciate him. >> reporter: the ambush shooting of jesse hartnett brought a standing room only crowd to the bryant school. >> it helped me to see everyone here. it helped me to know that my concerns are not just mine alone. >> state senator williams called an emergency community meeting to address safety concerns. >> i'm still scared about what happened. i've got a granddaughter at my house and it was very scary. >> reporter: the officer shoot that is being investigated as an act of terrorism is the breaking point for many residents. >> when we talk about terrorism, we must be real and face the fact that we are living terror, because people are shooting up and down the streets. >> reporter: officer hartnett's shooting isn't isolated in cobbs creep. to address crime concerns, residents say, there needs to be better relationship between the community and the police.

they asked for services, especially for children, to deal with the trauma. politicians and law enforcement committed to addressing their concerns. >> i'm hopeful. >> reporter: despite airing their concerns, residents don't want their community stigmatized. muslims say they don't want to be stereotyped but they say both issues have intensified as a result of the shooting. reporting live from west philadelphia, aundrea cline-thomas. vice president biden will come to philadelphia to stewaar the new initiative cure cancer. the vice president is looking for ways to boost funding and research as part of a plan the president announced during his state of the union address. biden lost his son beau to cancer last year. if you become the nominee, who the hell knows if you can even serve in office?

escalator. the two-year-old child was flown to children's hospital of philadelphia after the accident around 6:00 tonight. no word on the child's condition. a man was rushed to the hospital after crews pulled him from the delaware river tonight. skyforce 10 over this scene on the 1900 block of south christopher columbus boulevard. it appears the man was working in the area and somehow fell into the water. we're working to find out his condition. a 20-year-old man is in the hospital after he was shot during abarmed robbery attempt at an a tattoo parlor in strawberry mansion detectives say the victim was hit by a stray bullet as the two suspects exchanged fire an w an employee. no arrests have been made. if you've ever driven on the schuylkill expressway then you know what a struggle that commute can be. the stretch of i-76 between king of prush have shsia one of the congested areas of the country. >> drivers will be able to use the shoulder as an extra lane of traffic. that would transform the narrow highway from two lanes into

no more. a group of korean american veterans was honored today in philadelphia for serving in the vietnam war. pennsylvania state representative leslie acosta on hands to recognize the vets. the pennsylvania house passed acosta's bill to honor korean americans for their service in vietnam. 8% of those korean veterans live in the philadelphia area. some local elementary school students are giving back to honor the legacy of dr. martin luther king, jr. today the students at highland elementary in abington made art projects and assembled care packages to benefit the salvation army and women's center of montgomery county. students also received mlk day of service t-shirts. >> einstein health care marking 150 years of caring for philadelphia. they held a star-studded event tonight. actor jason alexander of "seinfeld" fame hosting at the national constitution center and diana ross performed. einstein is celebrating its 150

were about 20 degrees warmer than yesterday. tomorrow will be warmer than today. the 50s will return in the forecast. we are tracking rain as we go into the weekend. then go into martin luther king day and we have some very cold air moving in so the warmup is only going to be short-lived. the average high is 40 degrees. compared to yesterday 29, that was high temperature. today we got to 47. tomorrow 53. by saturday around 50 then down from there so it will get much colder again. as far as tonight is concerned overnight, temperatures won't be as cold, mid to low 30s and a big jump closer to noon tomorrow, around 47 degrees through the philadelphia area then topping out in the 50s. so milder, way milder than it was through part of the area today. we're dry on satellite and radar, more clouds tomorrow. the rain is still around louisiana so that's our developing nor'easter. it will move quickly once it gets more organized across the southeast and by tomorrow it

will be much closer to us and then we'll see rain. so here's future weather as we go into your friday. the wind direction will be southerly, 9:00 p.m. tomorrow night when we expect rain moving in, the highest chances for south jersey and delaware, and here's 1:00 in the morning so if you have friday night plans we expect rain overnight lowest chances north and west 5:00 a.m. saturday. we see this area of low pressure slide offshore. so we'll have early rain saturday morning but many of you will be waking up to maybe no rain depending on what time you wake up. saturday afternoon will be dry, sunday will be dry but much colder then we go into monday, even colder with the air from canada moving in so cold, windy conditions. future rainfall showing most of the rain confined to parts of south jersey and delaware, at least the heaviest of it tomorrow night. overnight, though, tonight we won't be as cold, 34 for the low in philadelphia, mid-20s areas north and west, cloudy and
