down at any moment because of rain falling now. here's a live look at the radar. you can see the nor'easter moving across the region that will last into the morning hours. i am jacqueline london. >> i am jim rosenfeld. sheena parveen is joining us with the forecast. we are not looking at a weekend washout, are we? >> not at all. when you look at the rain, the timing of it, i think it will be gone before most wake up tomorrow. the rest of the weekend we will see colder changes. for now, we are watching heavy rain on radar. heaviest through kent county, delaware, milford, also to atlantic city, it will be in philadelphia soon, the heaviest part. over an inch an hour, that's heavy rainfall.

it is moving toward philadelphia area. washington township seeing heavier rain. across philadelphia, light to moderate rain. heavier bands through the lehigh valley. temperatures are still above freezing. we are not worrying about icing tonight. the poconos could see a little snow. and we will watch areas farther north and west. future weather by midnight. rain extends the area. by 2:00 a.m., most areas above freezing. by 6:00 tomorrow, a lot of it moving out. poconos could be dealing with snowfall. a closer look at this and a much colder air mass moves in by the weekend. rain is coming down now could make matters worse at this collapsed home in frankford neighborhood. several families had to evacuate. the homeowner made it out with moments to spare before the house came tumbling down.

>> the weather is raising more concerns. >> reporter: that's right. that heavy rain could cause the house to collapse further. they put up a fence in case. they have caution tape surrounding the property. neighbors have been forced to evacuate as precaution. >> i heard the bang, look out the window, big hole in the wall. i couldn't believe it. >> that was the sound of this home collapsing. the homeowner grabbed her dog and made it out with moments to spare. >> she closed the door, the house collapsed. >> she didn't want to go on camera. she heard cracking and knew she was in danger. authorities told the neighbors they had to evacuate with moments to gather belongings.

>> they said the house could tip over, it could land on the structure that we are in now. >> the homeowner has lived here for 18 years. this is where she raised her child. some of the belongings can't be spared, she's grateful her life was. >> she stayed any more, would have collapsed in the house with it. she was real lucky. >> reporter: police are keeping an eye on the house. crews are expected to return tomorrow to survey damage to see if any part of the house can be salvaged or if the whole thing has to be torn down. neighbors don't know when they'll be able to return. live in frankford. al qaeda claimed responsibility for an attack on a hotel used by foreigners in the capital of bureau kien fast

nbc10 was there when the incident happened last week. the suspect was leaving a newtown square courtroom. and he shoved members of the media and knocked a camera out of one of the reporter's hands. he was in court facing charges he sexually assaulted a relative starting when the victim was 13. from the jersey shore bureau, atlantic city emergency manager says more cuts are needed to help the struggling city but he is not recommending bankruptcy. in the final report, he reasonable degree of medical certainty spending cuts and consolidating, privatizing some parts of government and regionalizing the police force, turning the fire department over to a private operator must be considered. he was appointed a year ago and his term ended today. philadelphia will be inspecting all boilers in city schools beginning tuesday after a boiler accident took place.

members of the service employees union rallied at the school district headquarters this morning saying dangerous safety violations and lack of staffing put students and workers in jeopardy. the mayor met with members of the union where he spoke about the inspection plan. >> i think this is an opportunity, an example how the city and school district, state, labor, everyone can work together to address a problem. it is clearly there. >> school mechanic is in critical condition from the explosion in a school. the accident remains under investigation. a special ceremony in delaware county honored prisoners of war and military members missing in action. local veterans unveiled this

>> vice president joe biden says the world of cancer research is close to phenomenal breakthroughs. the vice president was in philadelphia to launch an initiative to breakdown barriers holding back progress in fighting the disease. >> randy jill enhall joins us from the cancer center. >> reporter: not since the nixon administration war on cancer has this much federal focused on curing. it was a first step and has families and survivors saying it is about time. inside this family home, photos of their teenage daughter alicia hang on almost every wall. >> no child should ever have to lose a strand of hair, lose a day of school. >> reporter: she was 16 when a rare form of cancer ravaged her body. doctors said there was a 1% chance of survival.

king's dream was alive with music at the celebration in cherry hill. 80 singers and a band joined forces for a musical celebration, included gospel to jewish folk music. the bleachers as you notice were unusually quiet at lasalle college high school. tonight was silent night. every year the students go silent during a boys basketball game until the home team scores its ten points. that's when this happens. kids dressed in every costume imaginable going crazy. they scored the tenth point. they went on to beat them 16-52. tonight, a local actor and producer screened his new movie at the real cinemas.

delaware, you see the yellow, orange and red. shows you heavy rain. a lot of it is still offshore. plenty of it is on shore. this is dover, heavy rain moving through cumberland, atlantic counties. this rain is falling at a precip rate a little over an inch an hour. that's heavy rainfall. philadelphia area, heavy rain on the way, slowly moving this direction. we are mostly seeing steady light to moderate rain. light to moderate rain in the lehigh valley through allentown and near the poconos. we will watch this overnight. big weather system is giving the whole area rain. as we go overnight, more rain in the next hour. then by 6:00 or 7:00 in the morning, this is moving offshore. we could still see the possibility of wet snow in the

poconos, but clearing by the time you wake up, especially middle of the day tomorrow through the afternoon, we stay dry. also really windy. then going into sunday, it will be colder sunday. we have a potential for light snow flurries or showers sunday. then arctic air moves in for monday. look at the wind chill. it will feel like the teens, around 10 degrees in some areas going into monday afternoon. tonight, heaviest rain moving through new jersey and delaware, approaching philadelphia now. we could see an inch, inch and a half of rain. 40 for the low in philadelphia, 35 north and west tomorrow. another mild day, 50 degrees. rain ends in the morning, then it gets windy. sunday, we see a chance for afternoon flurries, upper 30s. colder. monday, upper 20s, upper 20s tuesday. it will be cold to start next
