us snow. good evening. i'm jim rosenfield. too far out to say how much snow but it could be our first storm of the season. we begin with sheena parveen. we declared a first alert because of the cold. >> yes, jim. we're talking about the cold tonight and into tomorrow morning. we have a first alert weather day out for that. if you thought this morning was cold tomorrow is even colder. dangerous cold and bitter winds making it feel around zero degrees tomorrow morning. take a look at the feels like temperature. already feels like zero. willing tom, 1 below zero. feels like zero in pottstown and 1 below in redding. look at the future feels like temperature by the time you walk out tomorrow. 10 below for zero northwest and

the rest of the area. aside from that, we're watching this storm in the pacific. it will be a week long thing, move to the pacific northwest and down across the middle of the country near texas by about thursday and then we see it slide across the southeast. at that point we would see rain and snow at this distance, friday, 10:00 in the morning. coming up, we take a look at the rest of this track as it goats closer moving to the weekend and what it could mean for our area straight ahead. nbc10's randy gyllenhaal is outside. what is it like? getting colder? >> reporter: two hours or so the temperatures actually plummeted. on the bank side of north philly, it will read about 14 degrees. you will see it pop up in a second but feels a lot colder especially if you have to sleep out here. when the streets are as cold as

in mansfield, burlington county, just as the police caught up with the tractor portion. police found the trailer in northeast philadelphia. no word yet on any arrests. doug pederson has arrived in philly and tomorrow he gets his official introduction as the eagles new head coach. beginning with john, this new era has direct connections to the eagles' past. >> yes, it does. andy reid is no longer a fixture at the complex but his influence obviously never left. reid recommended pederson to the eagles front office and the eagles believe pederson can restore the reid era. the bird landed this morning and he made his way to the complex and he will be introduced at 2:00 and we'll hear from lurie after he let go of chip kelly.

sailors and plan to outline in the e spring which titles should change and how. tonight, we want to tell you a story of "iron max," a boy from new jersey that led to a feature in comic books. he has a disease that leads to blood clotting and a comic book fan. when max needed a port at the hospital in philadelphia, his dad got creative and told max he would have a metal disc in his chest like ironman. when marvel caught wind of max's story they wrote a story about iron max and his disease. >> how proud are you to be in the ironman book? >> proud. not just pretty proud, proud. >> i think he's proud. that issue of ironman also featured a real photo of max on the back cover. his dad hopes it inspires others

your car until the bus gets here. minus 4, philadelphia area, new jersey and delaware feeling like zero. by the afternoon, temperatures not getting out of the teens so it will stay cold and windy all day long. we are dry on satellite radar. maybe wednesday night a few snow showers or flurries, but in the pacific ocean will eventually move across the country for the end of the week. here's a look at what the temperatures will do overnight tonight. feels like temperatures dropping down early morning hours by zero degrees by the afternoon. barely above 10 degrees and windy and cold and 10 degrees wednesday afternoon. closer to 30. wednesday night, snow showers possible, nothing that should be a big deal. and friday what i showed you in

the republicans in harrisburg were fighting each other over the state budget. that's right. each other. the republican state senate passed a responsible budget that "begins" to fund education but the republican house of representatives has insisted on a budget that fails to fund education and balloons the deficit. call your legislator, tell them to pass a budget that's right for pennsylvania.

a new jersey student has his message in a bottle answered, thanks to social media. back in january 2014, tommy t s tossed this bottle into the water in ocean county. it included a note that said, write us to about your good fortu fortunes. little did he know this would go on an incredible journey across the atlantic where earlier this month a french artist found the bottle on the beach in this village of brittany in northwest france. inside was a mailing address to loyola university in maryland. after 3 1/2 days and facebook post that reached 13,000 people, the bottle was tracked back. he learned it works, old school. >> probably going to do it again see. probably so with a new message. our message tonight is bundle up. bundle up with the kids. especially at the bus stop tomorrow morning. it will feel like zero degrees. farther west of philadelphia, it will feel below zero. and the first alert friday and
