firefighters. good evening, i'm denise mcconnough. the firefighters made it out safely and now the fire chief is on the scene. our randy gyllenhaal is there. >> what's the scene like now randy? >> the officials tell me there was actually one person inside the building when this fire started but they say that person did make it out ok. even now, hours later you can see all of this white smoke still pouring into the area. meantime clues have brought in the heavy machinery to clear out some of this debris. they tell me the pormer tavern here on 2nd street in millville has been totally destroyed thick, white smoke coombs an entire intersection as firefighters knock down persistent flames. the former gillbear's bar and

tavern looked like a volcano, some neighbors said. >> leticia hollow way and a large crowd watched as the old tavern burned to the ground. witnesses reported small dploegss and at one point the entire third floor collapsed, falling on firefighters working below. >> there was one on top of the ladder. then there was one over the bathroom and now that one's fallen down. >> it was so kay other ink. it was scary. >> officials say nobody was injured but firefighters issued a mayday call after the collapse. >> we immediately stopped all fire suppression operations and accounted for all of our members to make sure they were accounted for and safe. >> just look at all this smoke that continues to pour out. i'm told that firefighters had to set up defensive positions around the block to make sure it
