mccoy? there could be a criminal case after police say the former eagle gt into a fight at a philadelphia nightclub. first, tracking snow. nbc 10 in newcastle where the flakes started to fall tonight. down the shore, flooding is the concern there with another high tide just hours away. good evening, everyone. tonight we are getting school closings and delays and in a few moments find them at the bottom of the screen. another place that's already seen snow, atlantic city. our cameras caught some light flakes falling earlier this evening. tonight, live team coverage. we begin with nbc 10 first alert meteorologist sheena parveen tracking this storm for us. sheena? >> yeah, jim, we have seen the area in the area but breaking up. this is a look at the radar. there's the snow moving into south jersey. philadelphia area. suburbs up into the lehigh valley and with this we continue to see the snow as we go into the next 24 hours so we have

some weather across the area. advisory in purple. meaning we expect to see snow in these areas. and then the warning area in pink expecting to see the most amount of snow in this area and an inconvenient time running until 6:00 a.m. wednesday. accumulating snow, not the whole time. not all of tomorrow. but for parts of tomorrow that snow will be accumulating and some of it during your commute, too. south jersey, parts of cumberland, cape may county. light snow falling there. up into the philadelphia area and then up into parts of bucks, montgomery county. seeing that snowfall now. it is not organized. pretty unorganized and scattered snow and rain showers and we have a first alert weather day out with periods of snow, low visibility. heaviest tomorrow night and then we have the flooding threat. more coastal flooding.

mostly moderate coastal flooding. here's future weather. for the morning commute tomorrow, temperatures at or below freezing. we'll see snow around the areas so take your time. stay slow on the roads and give yourself more space in between cars and talking about this and what to expect in the afternoon and snow totals coming up. >> all right. you'll find the nbc first alert forecast plus get personalized school closings sent straight to the palm of your hand. to south philly now and nbc 10 cameras saw the snow beginning to fall. penn-dot crews out pretreating the roads trying to make sure they're passable in the morning commute. keith jones continues the live team coverage in norristown. i see it snowing where you are, as well. >> reporter: that's right. light flurries here for past two hours or so in montgomery county. the key for crews, in the giant tanks, salt brine. the capacity 10,000 gallons and

trucks are out right now treating these roads. thousands of pounds of salt. crews hoping to avoid this. impassable, unplowed roads. >> my block right here actually didn't get plowed a lot. >> reporter: barbara brown tells me the blizzard trapped her inside her home. how long in. >> until that sunday morning. and it took my mom and i three hours to shovel. >> reporter: christian spent some of the time walking. >> when i come in from work, we have to walk all this route from there to here and we have to walk like half an hour. >> reporter: this winter we received 21.inches of snow and we are behind. here's perspective. two wents ago, three times as much snow. 68 inches. so far, pen-dot used about 27 tons of salt, average winter for

them, 81 tons and now -- >> we could be dealing with this storm well into wednesday. >> reporter: in the region, 283 plows on the road covering about 40 miles each. >> slow down. leave plenty of space between you and the vehicles in front of you. give the plow trucks room to operate. >> reporter: at least five car lengths according to pen-dot. here in norristown, all is quiet. usually a busy, bustling scene but the trucks are out there on the roads. by the way, the routes last about two to three hours before they complete the cycle and not getting to your house, they'll be there eventually. keith jones, nbc 10 news. >> and as sheena told us, down the shore is the flooding. neighbors saw tidal floods today and the worst could be yet to come. nbc 10's randy gyllenhaal with details coming up in a few minutes. meantime, though, new at 11:00, a man shot to death in a

tgi fridays parking lot. denise nakano is live in newcastle at the scene. do police know how this all started? >> reporter: well, jim, police are going through surveillance video at this hour trying to figure out what led up to the shooting. the medical examiner arrived an hour ago. the scene is active more than four hours into this investigation. a shooting interrupted the dinner hour at tgi fridays in newcastle. more than 30 people inside not sure what to make of it. >> a bunch of cops got here fast and trying to get out of here. been here for like three hours. >> reporter: police got a call just before 7:00 p.m. of several shots fired in the parking lot. >> our officers arrived. found a victim in the parking lot. with gunshot pounds to the torso. >> reporter: steps beyond an unmarked police car with the lights, the body of the man police are working to identify but described to be in the late

20s. police are in the process of interviewing 20 witnesses at the police station. another ten customers and employees had to stay inside the restaurant as the investigation was wrapping up. everyone inside the restaurant was allowed to leave in the past hour. newcastle county police are assisting with this investigation. live in newcastle, denise nakano, nbc 10 news. new information tonight on the fight investigation involving former eagle mccoy. sources say charges are expected against mccoy and three others in the alleged involvement of a nightclub brawl that sent two off duty philadelphia officers to the hospital. early sunday. no word on the severity of the charges. temple university is moving forward with a proposal to build a new football stadium near the north philly campus. the board of trustees approved a million dollars or a feasibility

study. the plan calls for a 35,000-seat stadium at a cost of more than $100,000. new at 11:00, pennsylvania lawmakers scheduled a vote wednesday bl to oust pennsylvania's attorney general. senate president said the decision came after, quote, considerable discussion with senators. kane is facing criminal charges of leaking secret grand jury material and lying about it. 33 votes are needed for her removal. in less than an hour, the first voters in new hampshire head to the polls. tonight, the presidential candidates made the last pitch to voters before the primary. nbc 10's george spencer live in manchester, new hampshire, tonight. george, a busy night of campaigning. >> reporter: jim, a busy night, indeed. as the candidates work to get out the vote. by this time tomorrow night, the primary night celebrations under way. marco rubio at this radisson. the other candidates scattered

sanders still leads, clinton 'em if sized her stark differences from the republican field. >> that this truly is one of the most important elections that we have had in a very long time. >> reporter: elsewhere in manchester, governor chris christie sounded like a general election candidate even on this pre-primary night. criticizing clinton as a potential democratic opponent. >> see, that's the difference of me and hillary clinton. she wants the government to make all of your decisions. >> reporter: for the so-called political tourist here watching it unfold is a stark contrast to the iowa caucuses a week ago. >> people are a little more -- not as open as here. they speak right up. there they hold it inside. you don't know until you get to the caucus. >> reporter: of course, the remaining few undecided are the biggest prize here in new hampshire. in this state some 44% of voters are registered as undeclared and they can vote tomorrow or either party. live tonight in manchester, new

>> the cousin was killed. her brother shot in the leg. the district attorney's office is investigating tonight. a judge has sentenced bucks county woman to five to ten months in jail for the role in the beating of a gay couple in center city. according to the d.a.'s office katherine knot turned herself in following the court appearance this afternoon. back in september of 2014, out with a group of friends attacking that couple. the judge said that she threw a punch. one of the victims left with a broken jaw. high honors tonight for two police officers in rockledge, montgomery county. the officers received citations from the state of pennsylvania as well as congress. the officers they say went above and beyond the call of duty often working on their own time to nba a thief that stole from dozens of parked cars last year. ♪

and reminiscent of the 1960s black power movement. and at one point they formed an x-formation many saw as a reference to malcolm x. >> decent, wholesome entertainment and not a platform to attack the people who, you know, put their lives at risk to save us. >> beyonce hasn't commented on the specifics of the show. royal caribbean cruise ship is returning home after running into rough seas in the atlantic ocean. going to show you video of passengers on board the anthem of the seas. the ship encountered 30-foot seas over the weekend. no injuries reported and the damage is said to be minor but royal caribbean executives decided to head back as a precaution. a state of alert down the shore tonight. neighbors are cleaning up from today's flooding and worrying about what tomorrow's high tide will bring. nbc 10's randy gyllenhaal reports from atlantic city. >> reporter: the new moon

combined with onshore winds contributing to the flooding. here officials expect tomorrow morning's high tide to be the worst. the back bay is expected to overflow yet again. the high tide in atlantic city just a splash compared to what's expected to come in the morning. but already, neighbors here are moving their cars to higher ground. >> just have to be prepared for it. if it comes, it comes. nothing to do about it. >> that's the flood siren. >> reporter: in west wildwood, the flood sirens rang about 7:00 p.m. >> when the tide begins to come into the street, we set that off. >> reporter: emergency management officials already had a long day here dealing with even more tidal floods this morning, cars got stuck. some homes withstanding water w. the worst yet to come. all this after last month's blizzard. people sick and tired of all

this water. >> you get the exhaustion factor. you know, people spent a lot of time spending their houses up and put the stuff out on the sidewalk. >> reporter: now the debris is floating around once again on the jersey shore. one step forward, two steps back. and here in atlantic city, as we're anticipating that water to overflow come the morning, the city is reminding residents who live in low lying areas to move their cars. in fact, the city parking garage is here free. randy gyllenhaal, nbc 10 news. >> flooding concerns at the shore. flooding already tonight, sheena. >> yeah. we have concerns across the area. the flooding and then inland we could see heavy areas of snow. we have a first alert tonight into tomorrow through wednesday morning. periods of snow some of it could be fairly heavy tuesday night and lower the visibility and enough of that late enough or

early enough in the morning then that would be sticking to the roadways i think and more coastal flooding in the forecast, too. here's the radar. we have the showers around for most of the area but they're really clearing out of parts of delaware. south jersey the light scattered snow showers. this goes up to philadelphia. along the expressway, trenton seeing the approach of the snow showers. through bucks county and into the lehigh valley so for tonight we have these snow showers left over. going to clear out and then tomorrow some more i think in the morning hours but the weather threats here. the winter storm warning is up until 6:00 a.m. wednesday. cumulating snow in the commutes. we have this coastal flood warning still and we saw the high tide tonight between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. causing more flooding. tomorrow now seeing it between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning and we expect moderate coastal flooding with these high tide times. take a look at the storm system

watching. it's not organized. what we expect tomorrow is pretty much what you see. scattered areas of snow. periods of snow through the day and we'll be seeing accumulat n accumulations, too. especially with temperatures cold enough late in the night and in the morning. freezing for most of the area. right now mainly light snow falling and melting on the road and getting the heavier showers and some could be sticking. here's future weather. so as we go overnight tonight, more snow showers passing through. 7:00 in the morning, we could see some snow showers across the i-95 corridor, into parts of wilmington, the shore and we cannot rule out the early morning snow tomorrow. temperatures cold enough for it to be sticking. 1:00 in the afternoon, another round of snow moving in. scattered and spotty. by 6:00 p.m. tomorrow, we could see snow around and some locally heavy lasting through tomorrow

night. overnight and then clear up just in time for the wednesday morning commute. snow totals 2 to 4 around the philadelphia area. 4 to 6 with some locally higher amounts for chester county possibly. once it leaves and the beak, this is future temperatures. take a look at where the air mass will do. a heads up for the weekend. it is going to get really cold. we'll show you that in a second. tonight areas of snow. and then tomorrow, periods of snow, most of it melting on paved surfaces. but again, late enough at night and heavy enough, we see it stick and then clear out for the rest of the week. look at the weekend. morning low of 6 degrees saturday. 4 degrees sun. teens this weekend. >> 4 degrees. ouch. all right. tune in at 4:00 a.m. with an updated forecast, up to the minute traffic reports plus school closings an delays as soon as they come in.

not huge accumulations but a nuisance? >> not huge. we could have snow showers for the morning commute. some areas reported already an inch. that was earlier this evening. but for the most part, i think the snow showers starting to break up a bit. tomorrow seeing more periods of snow through the day. some of the heaviest later on tomorrow morning and coastal flooding concerns, too. tomorrow morning's high tide again and then going through the rest of the week, dry and take a look at the weekend.
