know better sleep with sleep number. that breaking news, hillary clinton is the winner of the nevada democratic caucuses, giving her some momentum. nbc news made the prediction an hour ago. here is a live look at clinton's campaign headquarters. they are celebrating and awaiting hillary clinton to come and speak. the loss is a blow for bernie sanders who had hoped for a victory e. we'll have much more ahead. we'll have the latest on the republican primary happening today in south carolina. first, a taste of spring. we are in the midst of a weekend warm up. and for the first time in a while, people actually want to be outside. take a look at a crowded ben franklin parkway in philadelphia with plenty of runners and families out and about.

event a week ago. yet for sheamus and his mom stephanie, today's conditions were still chilly enough for first timers. how did the water today feel to you? >> well, it felt as cold as it would have been. that's the coldest waeter i've been in it. >> it must be a such a difference to get out of the water and have 15 degrees. i'm glad it's in the 50s today. >> reporter: for brett and his son, reed spring like temperatures allows for practice in shorts. pleasant conditions that reed may have brought back to his visit down south during last weekend's cold snap. >> he was in florida, i was shoveling snow. and freezing, and it was not good. >> there's so many more people out. i can open the door. >> reporter: for store managers like becky of moon flower boutique in west chester, warmer weather translates to economic impact.

sales were tripled her sales yesterday. >> people can take time to look around because they're not shivering from the cold. >> reporter: in downtown west chester, foot and small vehicle trac traffic was the story. >> i hibernate in the winter i'm part bear. >> you're allowed out on a weekend like this. >> absolutely. >> reporter: good day to be out. the brandywine red clay alliance hosted that polar plunge. 13 different teams competed on fund raising to support that group's mission of conservation. george spencer, nbc 10 news. thanks, george. back to the breaking news in decision 2016. while republican primary voters are still heading to the polls in south carolina, the results are in in nevada. hillary clinton as we mentioned at the top of the hour is the winner of that state's democratic caucus. with 75% of the results in, right now, nbc news projects

clinton has won the state. she's at 52%. compared to bernie sanders at 48%. clinton personally tweeted just minutes ago, quote, to everyone who turned out in every corner of nevada, with determination and heart, this is your win. thank you. clinton was out campaigning in nevada all day today. here she is with casino workers. those workers are considered to be the most voting block in the democratic caucus. bernie sanders made a final push at the mgm casino in las vegas. the senator was also surrounded by a crush of culinary workers and union members. republicans are battling in their primary in south carolina. that's where it's donald trump versus all of his rivals. our national correspondent steve handlesman has the latest from columbia. >> reporter: south carolina republicans cast their ballots. >> just voted for trump.

>> reporter: we have learned the victim's name but we're waiting for authorities to officially release it just to make sure her family has been notified. we spoke to the victim's niece earlier today. the niece returned to the scene. she told us she was watching nbc 10 news this morning when she recognized the building. she called her family to see if anybody had heard from her aunt. they started calling hospitals and the red cross. her aunt was found this morning. she told us her aunt was found on the coach. the aunt was 72 years old and lived alone. we're told she was in good health and could walk but it's still unknown how she was trapped in the fire. here's a view from sky 10 from last night. you can see the smoke billowing out from building 49. a search was done last night, but it was dark and the building was not structurally sound. that's why they did not find the victim until this morning. >> she was kind hearted person. she loved animals. she loved people, loved her

tell you what, the weather could not have been better for the mummers today. the string band division strutted down main street for their second annual mardi gras celebration. today's parade was a fund raisish effort for the 17 string bands that rely on donations to help pay for their costumes. the crowd got a front row seat to the glitter, fertathers and music. >> it's wonderful. it's an easy parade. the people are great along the streets. it's packed like on new year's day. that's what fires us up. >> it featured family friendly themes to remind spectators that the spring bands are focused on family entertainment.

police in burkes county are asking for help to find three men wanted in connection to the stabbing of a student at cooks town university. investigators are looking for the three men running from the scene in this surveillance video. one is wearing a red cooks town sweat shirt. police tell us the victim was stabbed after midnight a few blocks from the university campus. right now he's in serious condition at the hospital. thousands in philadelphia took to the streets of china town today to protest the conviction of nypd officer peter lee ang. he was convicted of manslaughter in the 2014 accidental shooting

death of an unarmed brooklyn man. protesters believe his conviction was a result of social pressure and political influence. >> what is unjustice for the victim, cannot be made better by more unjustice done to a young police officer. you know, it's a society that should do better. >> demonstrators say the department did not give officer lee ang adequate training. this protest is one of dozens planned across the country tonight in support of officer lee ang. in washington, supreme court justice antonin scalia was remembered today as a man who loved his family, his god and his country. hundreds of mourners attended scalia's funeral at the basilica of the national shrine. his son, father paul scalia a catholic priest was the main celebrant. he mixed humor and reverence for the conservative icon and father of nine who died unexpectedly

last weekend. in center city today, it was a salute to the heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice. dozens paid tribute at st. john the evangelist church for a firefighters memorial mass. they remembered those who lost their lives in the line of duty. philadelphia mayor jim kenny was on hand for the ceremony. he's the son of a philadelphia firefighter. all right. do you have what it takes to become the next voice? hundreds of people lined up in center city, philadelphia to take a shot at it. oddati auditions are being held at the pennsylvania convention center. doors open tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. hopeful contestants were there trying to turn their passion into a singing career. >> it's my passion. i've been loving music ever since i can remember. so it's all that i can think about. >> i do love to sing.

if i can make something out of singing, you know, why not take that opportunity? >> go for it. season 10 premieres february 29th on nbc 10. it was warm today but warm enough to run in your underwear? i don't think so. hundreds of crazed runners hit the streets in their knickers for the annual cupid's undy run in south philly. the event raises money for the children'stu children's tumor foundation. it was definitely warm out there today. a lot of people with spring fever. tomorrow looking warm, a few degrees lower than this afternoon. we're tracking a little bit of rain that will be developing for the second part of your sunday and sunday night. keeping an eye on a storm system that can impact us as we head into next week. 58 the current temperature towards potstown.

mid 50s to trenton. 54 to george town. same goes for wildwood area. check out this warmup in just the last 24 hours. most of us enjoying a warm up of 20-25 degrees. absolutely a beautiful out there to get the weekend underway. we're looking at a slight cool down as we head into tomorrow. locally conditions looking quiet across the area. we had cloud cover move off earlier. not a whole lot of rain to speak of. even as we widen out the picture here, we're keeping an eye on, we have a stalled front to the south. this is going to start to gather moisture. it doesn't look too impressive at the moment, we're going to start to see rain develop out towards the ohio valley into the overnight hours. later tonight and early sunday morning, 8:00 a.m. we have rain from west virginia extending back into parts of arkansas. this sh going to continue off to the east as we head in through the course of sunday afternoon. we'll she showers develop off to

the south. mid 50s, we're not looking at a washout of an afternoon. the showers look intermittent. as we head into the overnight hours we'll see the rain become more wide spread. again, that will bring us rainy weather for the first part of the night. the good news is, it looks like it clears out monday. this is not going to be an issue for the morning rush. we're tracking a storm system, it looks like it's going to take a further west track. that would mean more rain for us as we head into the wednesday, thursday time frame. in terms of our larger weathermaker it looks like that would not be for a couple days. with the warmer temperatures in place, it looks like we'll be talking about rain. partly cloudy for tonight, not as cold. mid40s in philadelphia. still looking warm, again that rain will develop into the afternoon. it continues into the first part of sunday night. clears by monday morning when
