nbc 10 news starts now. and right now at 11:00, rain is falling across much of our area right now. here's a live look at the ben franklin bridge you can make out there over those spots of rain in our camera. and some parts of our area could see snow out of the system that's impacting us right now, as we take a live look at camelback mountain resort in the poconos. looks like you got some skiers up there. nbc 10 first alert chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz here. >> yeah, vai, one of the things going to keep it cooler and also cutting down the visibility. as you can see 38 degrees at the bottom of your screen here. that's in philadelphia.

farther to the north temperatures are closer to the freezing mark. and in the poconos it is below freezing. we haven't seen the precipitation start yet in the poconos, but it is cold enough to be snow when it does start. and there may be enough precipitation to accumulate at least a couple of inches here. you can see that a few skiers out there and maybe just starting to see a few of the snowflakes. farther to the south it's mostly rain, in and around the philadelphia area, down toward the jersey shore, cape may you can see right now it's just soaking wet there and it's a wet and kind of nasty day. the wind coming in off the ocean. and the temperature really isn't going to be going up a whole lot during the day. we have a lot of wild weather going on over the next couple of days, especially starting tomorrow.

we'll get into that with the rest of the seven-day in a few minutes. >> see you then, glenn. as we continue to track rain and snow, make sure you have the free nbc 10 app on your smartphone or your tablet. get news and weather alerts as they're issued and customize the forecast for your neighborhood. the red cross is helping a homeowner whose house caught fire in gloucester township, camden county this morning. the flames broke out on hollywood drive. this happened before 4:30 this morning. the owner is the only person that was inside the house and made it out safely. fire crews put out the blaze in about 45 minutes. police and the county fire marshal's office are investigating the cause. police say a man living in a rooming house stabbed a fellow resident. officers arrested the suspect. police say the 70-year-old victim's injury is not life threatening. a new surveillance video shows a suspect wanted for allegedly assaulting a fast food worker. police say the woman was not happy with her service at the dunkin' do nuts on washington

avenue in south philadelphia on february 12th. video shows her knocking over the items on the counter, picking up a ceramic cup and throwing it at the manager. the manager got a cut on her wrist. the suspect took off. if you happen to recognize her you're asked to call police. happening today, protesters are planning to hit the streets all across the country to voice their support for apple in their legal battle with the fbi. this all stems from the san bernardino terror investigation. the fbi wants the company to create a so-called back door entry to access. the encrypted data on the iphone of one of the san bernardino shootings. but apple fears that's just the beginning and the possibility of a back door would pose security risks to all iphone users. >> once that software is created, it essentially opens a back door. once anyone gets in that back door, whether it's a criminal hacker, someone from a foreign

government or anyone who's looking to use it to do harm, it creates a huge security risk for for people. >> fbi director james comey over the weekend say the agency wants a chance with the search warrant to try to guess the terrorist pass code without the phone essentially self-destructing and without it taking a decade to guess correctly. he goes onto say we don't want to break anyone's encryption or set a master key loose. police have charged a young philadelphia mother accused of shoplifting with theft and child endangerment. police arrested 27-year-old mohagany terry last night. she was on the run for nearly two weeks. police say she tried to steal more than $1,400 worth of mens clothing when she was stopped by security she ran away and left her child behind. terry has been arrested twice before for shoplifting. her 4-year-old child is now in the care of her father. and philadelphia police are searching for a second driver they say was involved in a deadly street racing crash over

the summer. officers issued an arrest warrant for ryan farrell. they say he appears to be on the run. the driver of this crumpled acura. police say he crashed the car while driving drunk, three of his friends died. a second car was caught on surveillance video fleeing the scene. >> i just think we've been through enough. it's been hard enough on us. i don't think he needs to make things any harder. i think he should do the right thing and come forward. >> anyone with any information on farrell's whereabouts is asked to call police. today marks the 25th anniversary of the deadly one meridian plaza high-rise fire in center city philadelphia. a memorial now stands where it once stood. three philadelphia firefighters lost their lives that day battling a 12-alarm inferno on february 23rd, 1991. the fire started when a bucket of oil-soaked cleaning rags

burst into flames on the 22nd floor. the fire burned long into the day until a sprinkler system on the 30th floor finally helped put it out. workers demolished the skyscraper in 1999. camille cosby's deposition is now on the record in a civil suit filed against her husband, bill cosby. camille answered questions from lawyers for seven women who sued bill cosby for defamation in a sexual assault case. the women claimed bill cosby let his defense team paint them as liars after they accused cosby of attacking them. camille cosby is not a defendant in the defamation suit, but the plaintiff's lawyer said he would be deposing her again on march 14th. >> at the end of the day a jury is going to determine who has more credibility. is it the seven women that we represent? or is it bill cosby? >> bill cosby's also accused of drugging and molesting a temple university employee in 2004. he pleaded not guilty to criminal charges.

new this morning, for the first time in decades love park will be love-less. workers today moved the world famous sculpture to make way for park renovations. the plaza's remodel will include more green space including trees as well as flower beds. you won't have to go far to see the love sculpture. it will be right across the street during the the construction. you just heard the president's announcement live a few moments ago, he plans to close began tguantanamo bay. what he says will happen to the detainees and the opposition he faces from congress. plus, how a report from a student newspaper at the university of pennsylvania ignited a presidential campaign controversy. well, we're in for a rainy stretch of weather the last couple of days. and some of us could see some snow. let you know when the heaviest rain is going to come and when it's finally going to dry out just ahead.

we're following breaking news out of arizona. police say four people are dead and another is wounded inside a burning home in glendale. officers shot and killed a suspect they believe killed his parents and sister. a child between 8 and 12 years of age was also shot and remains in critical condition. meanwhile, a school bus filled with students crashed this morning near pittsburgh.

the crash on a highway ramp left several catholic high school students with minor injuries. a car was also involved in this accident. officials aren't sure yet what caused the bus to overturn. republican voters are making their voices heard again today in decision 2016. nevada's holding its republican caucuses. this is a live look now at sin city where the caucuses begin at 8:00 p.m. our time. they will last until midnight on the east coast. and the latest nbc news survey monkey weekly election tracking poll shows donald trump maintaining a lead among republican voters. trump leads nationally with 36% followed by texas senator ted cruz with 19%. and florida senator marco rubio with 16% who is up two points from last week. analysts expect trump to score an easy win today in nevada. last night in las vegas trump targeted rival ted cruz and his impact on religious-based voters. >> this guy is sick. there's something wrong with this guy.

i mean, the evangelicals didn't vote for him. you know why? because they don't like liars. they're really smart people. >> ted cruz is hoping to win delegates in upcoming states with support from evangelicals, a voting block that flocked to donald trump in south carolina. and a student newspaper for the university of pennsylvania is at the center of a campaign controversy this morning. texas senator ted cruz fired his campaign spokesman yesterday after the spokesman tweeted a story that falsely claimed marco rubio had insulted the bible. the flap is linked to this video, the daily pennsylvania shot in new hampshire over the weekend shows marco rubio pointing to a bible in the hands of a ted cruz supporter. a cruz staffer posted the video on facebook which incorrectly claimed rubio told his supporter there are not many answers in the bible. rubio said he gestured at the bible and actually said all the answers are in there. he had some words for cruz's campaign. >> for them to take a video and

transcribe words on it that are the complete opposite of what i said, it's incredibly disturbing. i mean, you guys have to be saying this now, it's every single day something comes out of the cruz campaign that's unsubstantive and cruel. >> senator rubio is working to get out the vote today in nevada where he lived for part of his childho childhood, as we take a live look right now where the crowd was just chanting marco, marco. more members of the gop establishment are moving to support rubio as many analysts view him as their best chance to stop the outsider trump from winning the nomination. yesterday rubio picked up support from some republican leaders such as bob dole and orrin hatch. new this morning philadelphia major jim kenny is endorsing democrat hillary clinton for president. he released a statement saying he trusts clinton with the

future. hillary clinton maintains her national overall lead to bernie sanders. the same poll also shows mrs. clinton continues to lead nationally. political observers say that could just be part of a wider problem for sanders. he's also facing a deficit. yesterday in boston sanders was still optimistic and even paid a compliment to mrs. clinton. >> i am delighted that secretary clinton month after month after month seems to be adopting more and more of the positions that we have advocated. that's good. >> kind of a backhanded compliment there. hillary clinton's latest stump speech appear to prove that point. she's now speaking out about campaign finance reform, which is a sanders trademark.

that's some splash right there. big waves hit the shores of oahu in hawaii yesterday. some of those waves even jumped on to the highway and hit cars. of course the whole thing was a surfer's delight. some of the locals say it's the biggest surf they've seen in about a decade. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> yeah. a whole lot different today than what we've seen over the past few days. we've got a rainy, kind of cold day out there. some places seeing snow and a wintry mix generally north of the pennsylvania turnpike. and we've got some wild weather coming on wednesday. warm, wet and windy. wait until you see some of the numbers there. we've got the low clouds, rain across the philadelphia area. it's 41 degrees. kind of chilly. plus, we have wind on top of that. 15 miles an hour making it feel like it's 33.

it was 53 degrees yesterday. now at the shore this cape may from the marquee delafayette. it's raining. it's a little on the windy side but nothing compared to tomorrow. tomorrow the wind is really going to be howling off the ocean. and could be some coastal flooding. so that's something to monitor. right now we have winds of 10 to 15 miles an hour for the most part. generally out of the east. now, these temperatures something we're going to have to watch closely this afternoon. see reading 33 degrees, allentown 34. now, it's snowing in parts of the area. with the daytime hours here, with the stronger sun this later in the wintertime, it takes a lot for snow to stick on roads during the daytime hours. so that temperature would have to come down significantly or the snow come down really hard. but we'll watch these temperatures hour by hour.

coatessville, quakerstown, 37 degrees. while it's 41 in philadelphia. 39 in wilmington. 35 in kennett square. 39 in mount holly. and of course we're well into the 40s toward the shore with the wind coming in off the ocean. there is a winter weather advisory for not only the poconos but also northhampton. i wouldn't be surprised if that's extended into parts of lehigh county and berks county. and you can see the snow just starting to reach the poconos. but there's this little burst here right around allentown. what happens here is as the precipitation gets heavier, it can turn into snow. some of that colder air from aloft comes in and so now this is up the northeast extension between emmaus and allentown. we're seeing snow and darker

blue indicating a little heavier snow. so that's the kind of thing that can happen in other parts of the area. again, generally north of the pennsylvania turnpike during the afternoon. something we're going to have to watch and keep you updated on that. the rain across the rest of the area as you can see moving to the north. this is just one piece of the system that's going to be affecting us. as we go through the afternoon, we'll have that area of snow and some of it could come down as far south as the upper bucks, upper montgomery, even northern chester county could see a little bit of snow here. things taper off as we go through the evening hours. and it's generally quiet tomorrow morning early. but then things start changing. as we go through the night tonight you can see temperatures generally above freezing. and it stays above freezing overnight. warmer air's coming in tomorrow. and here comes more rain. patchy generally light rain in the morning, even into the

afternoon. and then here it comes. this is wednesday evening. maybe from 6:00 on we have potential for some heavy showers, and even some thunderstorms. we get a lot of storms like that coming through, there could be some potentially damaging winds out of that. again, that is tomorrow night. not today. not tonight as far as any potential severe weather. windy and wet today with some snow and a bit of a wintry mix the farther north you are in the area. high temperatures ranging from the upper 30s into the mid-40s. then tomorrow, look at that, up near 60 or maybe even in the 60s. but that's coming tomorrow evening. it's not going to be that warm during the day. but we get some heavy rain coming. and heavy showers. also windy on thursday on the mild side. then it gets colder for friday and into saturday. >> thank you, glenn.

underwood hit the music scene following her win on "american idol." she's a seven-time grammy award winner, also had tv and film success and committed herself to some very important causes included improving the lives of military families through operation home front. and last night a family in our area got a surprise they'll never forget. they got to meet carrie just before her concert at the wells fargo center last night. army sergeant first class jonathan martin is here this morning along with his wife and daughters. they're joined by christine duffy, the president of carnival cruise line. thank you all for being here. let me start with you, jonathan. tell me what it was like for you and your family to meet carrie last night? >> it was pretty amazing meeting carrie last night. quite honestly we thought we were just going to go to her concert and listen to her music, get a chance for the girls to see a live concert. and then out of the blue she

just steps out and she's like hello. caught us off guard. >> as a military family what has operation home front meant to you and your family? >> operation home front has provided a lot of assistance for my family and i while i was gone and when i came back from being deployed. it was pretty amazing. >> turn to your wife now. what was it like for you and the girls last night? >> it was an amazing experience. we are so thankful. it was great to see her perform. she's an amazing performer. we're so thankful to operation home front. thank carnival cruise for providing the opportunity. >> we'll get to carnival cruise line in a second. was it your favorite concert. >> i kind of like all of the songs. but mostly mine was i heard it like a hundred times because i hear -- >> a hundred times?

yeah. that's about how many it takes for me to get the lyrics in my head. christine, let me turn to you. tell us about carnival cruise line and the impact carrie underwood has had. >> we're really excited to partner with operation home front. we did this last february with martin na mcbride and operation home front. there's a new carnival coming out in the spring and we were looking for a great partner and we couldn't find anyone better than carrie underwood. she's been so supportive of military and military families. and so with our relationship with operation home front, we reached out to carrie and her people. and they were excited to do it. so as part of her story teller concert tour we're going to be inviting ten families along the way. and they're all going to be in new york with us on our new ship in november where we're going to have a private concert for about 1,000 military families in new york city. >> wow. most of these performance have

military connections? like their parents or family members have been in the military before? what is it that draws them to operation home front? >> i think a lot of them do. i think especially these country, you know, stars, really part of their whole community is so military based. and i know for us we have a lot of ships in places like texas and louisiana. and people just really -- we sell more active and retired military members on our ships. and we actually do a tribute on every carnival cruise where we recognize military on board. it's amazing andc,?zk wonderful see how many of the other guests who were on vacation come to that event just to say thank you for all those services and sacrifice these folks make. >> you saw her before the concert. were you surprised at how shy she was and then later when she's on the stage she's like bigger than life? >> oh, absolutely. she came out, she was very sweet. she's a great person. and then when she come out, just huge megastar that she is.

well, the rain is here and we won't see a break in this wet weather pattern for a few days, as we take a live look right now at center city, philadelphia, the skyline at least. nbc 10 first alert chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here with our forecast. hi, glenn. >> hey, vai. yeah, it's raining in most of the area right now, but we do have some snow in other areas. this is including the poconos. this is at camelback. if you look closely with the

picnic tables you can see some of those flakes coming down. it's just starting in the poconos on the white side of course at the start. it's soaking wet in and around the philadelphia area and across much of the region right now. and it's going to stay this way for much of the day. we have temperatures that are going to not be going very far. and then a fair amount of rain. as you can see here on the radar much of the area has rain. right on the northern edge that's where we have the snow, in the blue. little darker blue indicates heavier snow, the pink indicates kind of the wintry mix, little bit of sleet in berks county right now. and there's more of that to come because the precipitation is pretty much just started. so much of lehigh county and northampton county and allentown and in northern berks county

getting some snow right now. now, rain in and around the philadelphia area a little bit heavier, to the west in delaware county, parts of chester county right now. and then tapering off in southern delaware and extreme south jersey. that's a sign of things to come. there are a couple of rounds of rain that are going to be affecting us along with the snow. that is generally for the poconos, parts of lehigh valley, winter weather advisory until 9:00 a.m. wednesday. maybe two, three inches of snow in the poconos. and at least a dusting in parts of northampton and lehigh county and parts of berks along with the chance of a little bit of freezing rain tonight. so these are the areas we're going to have to watch the closest. and you can see why. the temperature so borderline at 33 in reading, 34 in allentown and 29 in mount pocono. so any of the roads up in that area, especially as the snow gets heavier that is going to

close the u.s. detention center at guantanamo bay, cuba. the plan calls for moving the remaining detainees to the u.s. it includes $475 million in construction costs that the president says would be offset by as much as $180 million a year in operating cost savings. the president's plan does not specify where in the u.s. the detainees would go. >> this is about closing a chapter in our history. it reflects the lessons that we've learned since 9/11. lessons that need to guide our nation going forward. >> the gop-led congress is expected to strongly oppose the plan. there are currently 91 detainees at guantanamo bay. of those 35 are expected to be transferred out by this summer. and now the latest on that tragic shooting spree in kalamazoo, michigan, last saturday night. a teenager who was shot is still clinging to life as police try to figure out a motive in the attacks. nbc's ron mott has an update.

>> reporter: a 14-year-old girl is one of two survivors from these weekend shootings here in kalamaz kalamazoo. she's being treated here at bronson methodist hospital as this stunned community tries to figure out exactly what would drive someone to target unsuspecting people like her. >> she is alive. and she is fighting for her life. >> reporter: late monday tears and hope from the parents of abigail, the youngest victim in the kalamazoo shooting spree. >> abigail is strong. and she's a vibrant and beautiful young lady and did not deserve this. >> reporter: the 14-year-old was shot in the cracker barrel parking lot along with four women who were all killed. at the hospital she was pronounced dead. while doctors prepared for organ donation, she squeezed her mother's hand. >> it was a miracle on its own. >> reporter: doctors say the other survivor has a bullet lodged in her kidney but is expected to recover. prosecutors say the suspect, uber driver jason dalton, has admitted involvement in the random rampage that killed six people.

>> from his responses there's very little remorse. >> reporter: this morning still no answers to the question, why? >> i prefer to remain silent. >> reporter: hundreds came together at a candlelight vigil monday night to pray for the survivors and remember the victims. the 45-year-old suspect is due back in court here in kalamazoo in a few weeks on march 10th. ron mott, nbc news, kalamazoo. and a commuter train collided with a crane overseas killing the train's driver and injuring seven passengers. a construction worker was driving the train across the tracks when the train slammed into it. the accident left the train's four carriages lying on their sides and scattered in water logged fields 80 miles east of amsterdam. officials said it was fortunate that the train was mostly empty at the time. and check out this video of a crane fire and collapse in

australia. officials say an electrical problem with a crane may have sparked this fire causing the crane's arm to suddenly collapse and drop several stories to the ground. it smashed on to the street and damaged several cars. no one was hurt. a first this morning for the nation's newest attorney general. loretta lynch spoke to the national association attorneys general for the first time since she took office. the group is gathering for meetings in washington, d.c. lynch has been mentioned as a possible replacement for late supreme court justice antonin scalia. and staff at kensington palace, the home of prince william and his wife kate, are threatening to strike after rejecting plans forcing them to accept an annual pay cut of approximately $5,000. nbc's keir simmons reports from london. >> reporter: at the royal palaces, they're worried about money. not the income the royals receive, but a proposed pay cut for some staff.

already some are complaining that william is a little, well, underemployed, putting in few shifts as a helicopter pilot and taking a month off at christmas. but kate was working hard just last week. edits an online newspaper for charity. no stop the press some royal staff are threatening a strike. they're among those who work at william and kate's home, kensington palace. employees who work with the public fear they'll lose $5,000 a year. a charity which manages the palaces. former staff say when you work with the royals, you don't do it for the money. you work for the royals. why does someone work for the royals? but it can't help that kensington palace just had an upgrade costing $23 million. to be clear it's not the staff who are closest to william and

new research finds obese people can significantly improve their health by losing just 5% of their body weight. washington university study found small weight loss not only reduced total body fat but also cut the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in obese adults. losing even more weight helped cell function and muscle tissue. the study found no further benefits for liver and fat tissue. when it comes to fighting

the flu, some people will fall back on old wife's tales for ways to get better. what does and doesn't work. >> reporter: letting the flu just run its course doesn't sound as simple as everything the internet tells you to do. >> chicken soup is effective, garlic can be helpful. but other types of advice are really bad. >> reporter: really bad and really dangerous. for example, sit in a sauna with the flu is one needs to be ignored. >> any illness that gives you a high fever is giving you that high fever to help kill off the virus. if you add to that fever, you can actually develop heatstroke from that or brain damage from causing your body temperature to rise. >> reporter: laying in bed is where it's at. from here some age old advice can come in handy. >> herbs like menthol or eucalyptus that help sort of open your sinuses. doesn't do anything absolutely to shorten the course but does alleviate some symptoms. >> reporter: which is about all you can do so it's important to

get an antiviral within the first 48 hours. >> it will shorten the course of the flu. if you take it too late and you're already swarming with flu viruses, you won't have much benefit. >> reporter: not a guarantee to avoid any of this but rest assure it's weakening the virus to make this easier to endure. >> takes about two weeks to become effective. >> reporter: protects weakened immune systems around you like kids under 2 and adults over 65 years old. >> that was nbc's haley hernandez reporting. well, there's a new doll in honor of black history month. the american girl company is releasing melody. she's a 9-year-old growing up in detroit during the 1960s civil rights era. the american girl company has faced criticism in recent years for not having enough racially diverse dolls. the company says it approaches every character thoughtfully and looks to tell authentic stories. hey, who says there's no such thing as a free ride? two south jersey communities want to make sure people who had a little too much to drink are making it home safely. and they're helping to pick up the tab.

was that number -- how does that number compute with you, chief chew, in terms of patrolling the streets and the roads of evesham? >> when we first start the program one of the first things the mayor and i said if we take one person home, that's a success. that's one person that didn't get behind the wheel ask drink and drive. to hear the number 1,000 it's astronomical the number of people taken advantage of this program. >> and still could there be more people? i can't imagine everybody is taking advantage of this program. >> well, not yet because we're finding actually there's an age group of over 45-year-olds who don't seem to know how to use uber. we love to teach if you're 45 -- yeah, they got to get uber. vai, the reduction in duis have gone down 83% since we started this program for evesham residents leaving evesham bars and restaurants. so we found a way to curb drunk driving. >> all right. i know a lot of people in south jersey call you mayor brown, but i've always known you as coach brown because you're a kicking

underneath his uniform right now. >> mayor, if you have more on our website at nbc10.com. >> thank you. >> thank you for coming in. >> thank you. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> got a wet and nasty day out there, especially after the beautiful weather we had yesterday. it's a rainy kind of cold day. and we are seeing some snowflakes up in the pocono mountains and a couple other spots. snow and mix in some of our northern suburbs and wednesday's going to get kind of wild. it's going to be warm, wet and windy. we have rain and some wind right now. this is a cold wind coming out of the northeast at 12 miles an hour. it's 42 degrees in philadelphia, feeling like 36. and it's not quite that warm elsewhere. and that's part of our problem.

it's 29 in mt. pocono, 33 reading, 33 allentown, 36 in west chester. temperatures just barely above freezing. we have the advantage of the time of year and the sun's rays are a little stronger this time of year. even going through the clouds it helps a little bit. but we have, again, marginal temperatures. macungie is only 32. pretty close. start snowing a little harder and that temperature could come down a little bit more. chalfont 39, doylestown 37. we're looking at bucks county and of course the upper portion of the county will be colder. it's 37 in quakertown and also in perk si. we'll monitor those temperatures hour by hour as we go through the day just to make sure they don't drop too much. feels like 27 in reading and 30s across most of the rest of the area. winter weather advisory for the

poconos. also northampton county for a little bit of snow and maybe a little sleet or freezing rain coming by this evening. lehigh county, berks county kind of on the fence there. and it's possible there could be some nasty conditions there as well. here's berks county. as you can see the upper portion of the county a little bit of sleet and then lehigh valley toward the poconos right now it's just north of allentown where we're seeing some snow up by lehigh and darker blue indicating heavier snow. so, yeah, this is definitely something we're going to have to watch this afternoon because the atmosphere really isn't going to warm up a whole lot during the day today. you can still see more rain coming up from washington, but that's just the first piece. the first storm. there's a second storm that's going to be affecting us tomorrow. and that's going to be more potent, if you can believe that. we've got the snow this afternoon in the poconos. you can see the rain elsewhere.

but some of it could leak down into lehigh valley, maybe even upper bucks county later today. but you see the rain tapers off somewhat, even ends as we go through the nighttime hours. not that it's going to clear out or anything, but it's not going to be raining like this constantly through tomorrow night. but we are going to be getting another round of it. you can see the temperatures overnight tonight if anything they're going up. so we're not expecting a change to snow tonight or anything like that. then tomorrow we have some showers around during the day. still cold, but as we go into the evening hours, that's when some of this heavy rain and maybe even thunderstorms come through. and that could be accompanied with some really gusty winds, maybe even damaging winds. we'll talk more about that this afternoon as the new data comes in. windy and wet this afternoon with some snow and a wintry mix. some of our northern suburbs

with east to northeast wind. this 60 degrees or 60 plus would occur wednesday night. during the day tomorrow it's generally in the 40s. and then a windy day on thursday. the temperatures in the 50s and then we get cold for friday with a high temperature of only 41.

last night was the finale of nbc's hit reality competition "the biggest loser." and a south jersey native was one of the final two contestants. it was a close one but he was not the biggest loser. he was the runner-up. but lost a staggering 133 pounds. nbc 10 was at a city wide watch party in his hometown. his wife also competed on the show but didn't make it to the final three. coming up this afternoon starting at 3:00, it's an all new "ellen" with kaylee cuoco. and nbc 10 news at 4:00. rushing in to save the man's life. the story's all new this afternoon on nbc 10 news at 4:00. real quick weather now from our chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> rainy and kind of chilly day this afternoon.
