[ inaudible question ] again, three reasons. one, i wanted to be open. didn't want any speculation in case anybody heard anything. i do have it. second, to make sure that everybody knows having detected it early that there really isn't any impairment. and whatever the treatment that i'm going to get is not going to interfere with my ability to perform my duties as governor. and then the third thing is to make sure that i'm public about this that the importance of regular checkups so that you can

detect things like this wherever you are, whatever the problem is, you know, regular medical checkups really do matter. >> what i meant by that was have you reached out to anyone you know that has had it just to get the reassurance -- >> i know people who have gone through this. we have all know people who've gone through this. i have asked them what their experience has been. it's really not -- i'm convinced by people who have looked at this and by other people that have gotten this early on it's very eminently treatable.

[ inaudible question ] the treatment you're going to undergo. >> i'm not a doctor. well, i'm a ph.d.. my mother keeps saying it's not a real doctor. colonoscopy is how you find. test and special biopsy. [ inaudible question ] it's one of the normal types of treatme treatment. i'll just leave it at that. >> is it a combination of surgery and chemo? >> they'll be no chemo. no chemo. >> i'm sorry, i'm not very familiar -- >> that's between me and my doctor how i treat this, but it's going to be a routine treatment saying very

optimistic. >> what are they saying about surgery? >> i'm not sure what you call it. it's a fast quick in and out so i'm not going to be in a hospital as far as i know any period of time. yeah. again, it's treatable and controllable. i'm not sure when you talk about cancer you go into remission, cure comes at some point later. i'm not sure how they would characterize it. you get a number that says maybe you ought to check this out further. that happened in the fall. did the checks and biopsies. i don't know what you call the different, you know, x-rays and all that kind of thing. and each one of those stages to confirm and actually understand better what the nature of the disease is. and so -- but the first step was just a very general routine test. so it took some time to get -- where we knew exactly baht problem was, what the treatment would be and how long it would take. again, not to -- because i am not the medical doctor, i don't know full terms but this is not something that has to be treated immediately so doctors are taking their time.
