there will be light rain, nothing like last night. you can see flood warnings and watches for the area. not everyone will see it. the first showers in lancaster and just sprinkling a little bit. the temperatures, really impressive. 60 in philadelphia. was 60 last hour but now philadelphia has cooled three degrees. that's a trend that's going to continue. much of the day, we're going to see temperatures much like what cape may is seeing right now, low 50s. 55 degrees in wilmington. the wind will be picking up too. we have some gusts. look at the southwesterly winds at 22 miles an hour. the wind will start to shift and that's when the temperatures start to come down from 55 at 6:00 to 49 at 9:00 and then a mostly cloudy, breezy afternoon at 50 degrees. we'll go through the forecast neighborhood by neighborhood when i'm back in ten minutes.

jessica boyington is watching first alert traf snook that's right, bill. we have separate areas of flooding pretty much across the board. we'll touch on that in a moment. first we're going to start out in new jersey in westville. we have one lane getting by. different parts of 130, flooding. 295 earlier was closed approaching the freeway. now seems to be back open. remember if you see any ponding on the roadways, be safe and go around it. here a little bit earlier this morning about 15 minutes ago or so on the eastbound side we only had one lane getting by due to flooding. now we're back in business. no problems heading eastbound into the center city area. tracy. >> jessica, thanks. philadelphia national airport report 2/1 cancellations and delays. around 54 customers still without power.

flooding remains in bucks county. matt delucia is live with conditions there. matt, what are you seeing? >> reporter: tracy, we've been driving around the area trying to find the flood areas we've been talking about. right here on riverview boulevard you can see that the water has come onto the road just past this treeline here. that is the schuylkill river. it's already begun to spill onto the roads here. you see the construction sign at the complex, that does not appear to have anything to do with the flooding but it has had a bit of app effect on this roadway at least. we've seen the water levels creep up a little closer to our storm truck within the past 30

minutes. we've been driving through the area, schuylkill as we talked about. there was some delays as a result of some of the storm damage from earlier, and we have also had reports in montgomery county of trees being down from the heavy rain. at this point it does appear that we're waiting for these floodwaters to recede. we're going to continue traveling throughout the area. for now we're live in west norriton. matt delucia, nbc news. >> all right, matt. let's take you to the creek. this is along the creek. you can see rain flowing there. police shut down streets to allow the crew to clean up

debris. and in montgomery county, people had to teal with flooded streets and roads. you can see water is several inches team there. right now power is still out in one neighborhood in cherry hill and that's not the only issue from the severe storms. nbc 10's drew is live. >> reporter: there are trees and power leans all over the place. we're being careful as we approach this tree because there are wires that are underneath it that were snapped down during the powerful winds with this storm. i also want to show you something over here on this side of the road. there's actually still water running down the side of the street here. go down a couple of inches there as well. that shows you how much rain we

had overnight. there is one thing if you're waking up early. it does feel pretty nice outside because of the warm weather today. we've seen power crews in the neighborhoods. as you can see here, we still have a lot of work to do. we're live in cherry hill, drew smith, "nbc 10 news." a tree crashed onto a day care where babies were sleeping. it happened through the afternoon and no one was hurt. >> thank god no employees or babies were here and nobody was injured so we're happy. >> the business is closed so they can clean up the debris and the damage. a barn collapsed into a house in salisbury township. winds also brought down metal siding and scattered debris hundreds of yards. families told us they took cover in their basements and when they

stepped outside, they were surprised to surprised to see the damage. >> it was sad to see this because this is our neighborhood. >> there are no reports of anyone getting hurt. and this is the wind blown rain coming down in lehigh county in treks ler town last night. the trees swayed in the strong winds that accompanied that heavy rain. and the nbc 10 app is a great tool to have before, during, and after. it sends alerts to your smartphone and tablet and it warns you when lightning gets within ten minules of your location. it's a free app to have. check it out. it was certainly useful last night as conditions were changing rapidly, and we're seeing changing conditions again this morning. it's coming up on eight minutes after 4:00. we're still tracking showers,

nothing like the heavy downpours and severe weather we had last night. some areas will get a big rainfall before dusty winding kick in and start drying out. that will happen today. and they will also bring us cooler weather over the next few kays, but this weekend the numbers turn around. a weekend warmup with sunshine. we'll see very limited sunshine today. 48 degrees. look at trenton. 57 degrees at this hour, 55 in dover. these temperatures are all warmer than they will be this afternoon or be cooling down as the winds kick in today. so damp conditions on beach avenue. you can see what the showers and thunderstorms left behind. the gusty winds still have it. to 36 miles an hour right now in dover. and here come the showers. steady rain in central pennsylvania with just some light showers moving in. snow farther to the west. we won't see that. it's going stay too warm for

anything other than rain this morning. so some gusty winds, a few scattered showers. the temperatures will be coming down from the upper 50s in allentown to right around 50 degrees this afternoon farrived in quakers town. the clouds will break for some limited sunshine for cape may, rehoboth, and dover. and you might see a sprinkle in wilmington, westchester, and cloudy skies. a chance we'll see bright sunshine this afternoon. look at your extended forecast and your weekend when i come back in ten minute. all right. nine minutes past 4:00 right now. we'll show you closed streets, flooded streets. that's what you could tase when you head out this morning so we ask you to take it easy. we go now to jessica boiyington?

>> 295 was closed in areas but they're back in business. you see the biggest problems are in the center medians where we have a little bit of ponding over to the center, so not really affecting any of the lanes right now. the drive times still oklahoma heading into philadelphia. word that 95 is back open. we have reports of flooding on westville southbound and in logan township on 130 north and southbound around 322. if you come upon an area of flooding, you want to go. >> n the middle lanes where it doesn't have any rain. >> thank you. we'll show you more of the damage in lehigh valley. as the storm moved through other parts of the country, it was wet. also this. >> my wife and i found out i have a mild case of prostate

it's 4:13. right now crews are working to restore electricity to more than 50,000 customers without power. philadelphia national reports cancellations and delays. moderate flooding reported along the brandy lion creek. and the rain fell so quick in lehigh last night that people who were in this car got stuck in about a foot and a half of water. no one was hurt. the severe weather cut a path of destruction across the

south and other mid-atlantic states as well. nbc 10's vai sikahema has more. vai? >> a suspected tornado tore through waverly virginia, an hour west of norfolk. a woman and two boyce died. police found another man dead in his house. they couldn't believe how powerful it was. >> reporter: all you could do is look away. >> the storm system also killed at least four people across the deep south. two died in louisiana where winds slammed around 160 homes there and now look at this mess here. that's the storm -- what the storm left behind in north carolina. a suspected tornado touched down in the north central part of the state.

it blew apart since homes but no one was hurt. one man missed the storm because he was out at the store at the time. you see here in florida winds blew the roof off part of a home in north charlotte south of tampa. the storm also wrecked porches and roofs on other homes in the neighborhood but fortunately no one was hurt there. and with many downed trees to clean up and power outages, many officials are telling people to stay off the roads and away from downed power lines today. i'm vai sikahema. tracy? tonight republican presidential hopefuls square off in texas for the party's tenth debate. donald trump is coming off a win.

marco rubio and ted cruz are also facing off. john kasich says he's the parties's best hope for beating donald trump. he made that statement yesterday. he said he's in it for the long haul. >> the race consolidates, i beat trump. nobody else beating trump that i know of. i don't think that's in the cards. i beat him head to head by 18 points in ohio. ahead in the next half hour, trump and tax. see why they got into a twitter war with mitt romney about releasing tax details. >> hillary clinton and bernie sanders will square off in a south carolina primary saturday and experts say they're about to play a crucial role in that contest. happening today .

judge eakin could be forced from the bench. experts say today's hearing could resolve the charges. his lawyers call it a major step in the case. governor tom wolf announced he's battling cancer. he says it was caught early and will not affect his ability to do his job. >> it was caught early and is eminently treatable. >> governor wolf said he will start treatment in a couple of weeks. he did not elaborate but he said there will be no chemotherapy. police are cracking down on distracted driving.

officers are targeting speeders, tethers, swervers, and anybody else break iing laws. they don't want drivers to pay fines. they just want them to pay attention. >> if we wanted to make money, number one, we wouldn't tell people where we're going to be. we're putting out on facebook what section of the city or roadways we're going to work on. it's not revenue-based. it's genuinely trying to keep the collisions down. >> they'll keep this initiative going until they start to see driving crashes go down. 18 minutes after 4:00. things have settled down overnight, but there are still areas of concern. the rivers are running high. some flooding this morning. temperatures are also high but that's not going to last. they'll be coming down as the day goes on. an unusual situation. now they're out of the southwest

at 21 miles an hour. that's a warming direction for us but with the wind shifting in the day, it's going to get cooler. lit stay with us this afternoon. you can see some flooding in the area. you see it here in west norriton. that's not the only area. along the worst, chester county. brand-new flood warning until 5:00 this afternoon. we could see a few more shower this afternoon. the clouds are still over here. the clouds to the west are already producing very light showers. rain showers. the snow will stay farther to the west where the temperatures are cold. it's already drying out in cape may. less likely to see showers at the shore. as far as sprinkles in berks county, flood warning along the schuylkill and byrne. it's calling for the

temperatures to come down. 53 degrees. that's at 6:00. by 9:00 we could see breaks of sunshine in philadelphia. the winds out of the west-southwest at 15 miles an hour. mostly cloudy noontime and a chance we'll see some breaks of sunshine as we go into the afternoon hours. but gusty winds will be even stronger this afternoon. we'll see them return to more than 30 miles an hour. the strong gusty winds will help to keep things cooler. the forecast for the weekend, it doesn't look bad. it will be a cold start on saturday morning. a chilly afternoon, but we'll see sunshine. look at sunday, near 60 degree sfloos we've got to get through a little bit more today. but more normal. >> yes. >> i don't know what normal is. >> less treacherous. >> it was so helpful to have the app that you tell people about every single day because yesterday it looked bad in the morning but as the day went on,

it looked light was going to be worse. >> i was checking it all the time and it was always being updated. a great. thanks bill. now a check on your ride to work. jessica boyington is watching the roads. jessica? >> yeah. this is around trooper road, but we did have reports of flooding on 422 around route 100. no closures there because of that, but really what we take from this this morning is don't drive through flooded areas. definitely find an alternate road. no flooding really reported here. eastbound to the schuylkill expressway, still eight-minute road time. we do have damage in upper providence on lower indian head road and upper indian head road. watch out for that. no delays for sep ka, new jersey trap sit, patco, and dart.

18-year-old can serve in the military but cannot buy alcohol. previous efforts have been stopped by the fact if it passes the state will lose federal funding. a law calls for cutting funding to states that reduce drinking to the age of 18. they're not saying what kind of cheating they suspect. internal affairs began an investigation in december. there are still showers. 56 degrees right now. there's a cooler pattern moving in. you'll feel it during the day today. 4:26 is the time. your hour-by-hour forecast is just ahead, but first let's check in with jessica boyington
