right now on nbc 10 news at 11:00, two teenagers shot right outside of a philadelphia takeout restaurant and it's all caught on camera. good evening. i'm rose mary connors. one of those teenagers is critically injured tonight as police search for the car that sped away after the drive-by shooting. this all happened right around 6:00 this evening just outside of a chinese restaurant in the grace ferry section of the city. we're joined live from the children's hospital where one of the victims is receiving life-saving treatment tonight. randy? >> reporter: police say the younger victim, just 15 years

old was taken here to the children's hospital. as detectives are using that surveillance video to track down the possible shooters who were last seen wearing masks. surveillance video shows two teenage boys standing outside a chinese restaurant in grays ferry, a white car approaches the intersection and then unloads a hail of gun fire. one of the victims takes off running, another ducks into the restaurant for cover. >> i just heard a noise. i heard the noise. >> reporter: witnesses heard multiple shots. the 17-year-old was hit in the leg and arm. he ran to a neighbor's house for safety where police found him inside. >> my cousin's friend got shot, ran up in there. i don't know what's happening. >> reporter: the 15-year-old was hit in the stomach, rushed to the children's hospital in critical condition. officers spent the evening gathering evidence. so for they've given no motive for this drive-by attack.

but they're looking for that white car speeding from the crime scene as neighbors remain furious it happened on a busy street. >> you could have enjoy the day. >> reporter: and again, that younger victim, 15 years old is here at the children's hospital. last check in critical condition, shot in the stomach and the foot. live in university city, nbc 10 news. thanks for that. this just in, a pedestrian is dead following a hit and run crash in new castle county tonight. the incident happened on lancaster pike near ace memorial drive. state police tell us a man was hit and killed right around 9:30 this evening. the driver fled the scene. lancaster pike is now closed in both directions near the crash site. new tonight from our south jersey bureau, one person is dead, another injured after a shooting at a cherry hill motel. it all happened at the inn of the dove around 2:30 this morning. both of the victims were taken

in a private car to the hospital. that's where 17-year-old man later died. a 20-year-old man was treated and released. both victims were shot inside of a car near the motel's front entrance following a fight at a party inside one of the motel rooms. >> little taste of spring today and we'll get some more to start the work week. we were in center city this evening where folks out and about opted for their lighter jackets on this second to last day of february. it's mostly clear out there right now with a light breeze. here's a light look at the flags blowing. we check in now with our first alert meteorologist, michelle grossman who has more on this spring-like weather. >> we made it to a high of 64 degrees. we have two more days where we're going to be mild and then that cold air does return. taking a look outdoors, mostly clear tonight.

temperatures still mild. temperatures still in the 50s across the area. some spots have dropped back into the 40s, but we're in 52 in philadelphia. 48 degrees in atlantic city so a mild night tonight. we'll have clouds increasing toward the morning. there's that southwesterly flow. bringing up that warm air. we are still seeing some breezy conditions. 12 miles per hour right now in philadelphia, up to 18 miles per hour in redding. 17-mile-per-hour winds in dover. we'll keep this breeze in place once again on monday. that will help to bring that mild air in once again. so as you wake up tomorrow morning a little more cloud cover. you'll wake up to the chance of showers also. by 6:00 we should be dry across the area, 46 and showers to the north and west by 8:00. mostly cloudy skies. 48 degrees, very mild by 10:00 we are looking at mostly cloudy skies and showers moving through the philadelphia area. then we're looking at sunshine for the rest of monday. tuesday looking nice and a rainy

the corruption case. he's been charged with multiple counts of bribery and fraud. prosecutors say he took gifts and campaign contributions from a florida eye doctor if exchange for political favors. he's pleaded not guilty. a key issue is the constitutional protection given to house and senate members when they perform their legislative duties. the police department is one step closer to having body cams ras for its officers. this week township council will officially receive the request for a five year contract. it would cost $194,000 for the first year. now, if the plan is approved, the cameras would be deployed in the next few months. new at 11:00 from our delaware bureau, police are now investigating the third shooting in new castle county just this weekend. the latest happened in oakmont new castle county.

investigators tell us a 30-year-old woman was shot in the leg. she was treated at the scene and is expected to be okay. this follows a deadly shooting last night that left a 31-year-old man dead and it comes after the shooting of a 41-year-old victim yesterday who suffered injuries to the leg and to the face. tonight, a man is recovering after he was attacked during a home invasion in west philadelphia. police say the man was inside his apartment at 47th and chestnut streets when three men busted through his front door around 2:00 this morning. the mentied up the victim and attacked him before making off with two cell phones and a set of car keys. the victim went to the hospital to be treated for cuts on his face. in the city, philadelphia police are investigating robberies at two convenience stores. one holdup happened and a second happened at the 7-11 about a mile away from the first location. initial reports say the robber

. a cruise ship battered by a major storm earlier this month is cutting its most recent voyage short amid a virus outbreak and the possibility of severe weather. royal caribbean's anthem of the seas is on its way back to new jersey. a spokes person for the cruise line says there have been an average of 9 or 10 daises of the virus a day over the last seven days. we spoke with one couple

celebrating their honeymoon on board. >> there was a note that they were going to heighten sanitation measure to try to keep infections down. >> the she should arrive back in new jersey on wednesday. a lawmaker wants the government to join the fight for more leg room on airlines. new york senator says he thinks the faa should require airlines to abide by a seat size guideline. he says leg room on planes used to be 35 inches, but it has shrunk to an average of 31. he plans to submit a bill that's pending in congress right now. a vote on that bill is expected next month. >> you are out of time. we are not going to allow the oscars to continue. this will be the last night of an all-white oscar. >> al sharpton out protesting the 88th academy awards.

and sound editing. two other best picture nominees also scored. spotlight won best original screen play while the big short took best adapted screen play. and a first time nominee became a first time winner. best supporting actor for the danish girl. oscars diversity controversy was top of mind. host chris rock labeled the evening the white people's choice awards. the night's top awards are still ahead including best picture and best director which could go to the rev nant. and if he is able to repeat that feat, it would be an oscar first. in hollywood, nbc news. an oscar upset for philadelphia's favorite boxer. silvester lost in the best supporting actor category.

there was a philadelphia eagles connection at this year's oscars that you probably didn't know about. it turns out one of the sound editors nominated for his work on star wars, the force awakens, used the names of some eagles player to create some of the alien gibberish used in the morning. >> they rolled out the red carpet tonight in center city to help people in need. volunteers of america held their 17th annual red carpet gala at the hotel. folks enjoyed the full hollywood experience all while raising money to support homeless families and veterans in the delaware valley. a big congratulations tonight. clark was one of ten high school students from the area who raised more than $171,000 for

the lls mission to have a world without blood cancer. all right. talking about the weather today, folks at the ice at penn's landing for the last skate of the season at the blue cross river rink. we found quite a few people lacing up their skates. the ice seemed to hold up pretty well in the spring like temperatures today. a nice sendoff all the way around for the winterfest festivities. and what a perfect day to be outdoors. temperatures into the 60s. 64 degrees in philadelphia. that is a little shy of the record, but more typical of april. we're still mild across the area. we do have some changes coming tomorrow morning. we have a front that's going to slide through. it will bring us a chance for scattered showers, but it's not going to drop the temperatures. we're looking at another warm day on monday and tuesday and then some changes coming on wednesday, tracking a rainy and

windy wednesday. that will bring in some cold air on thursday. 52 in philadelphia. winds breezy all day. temperatures in the upper 40s and low oos. 52 in philadelphia. south and east we've dropped into the 40s. 48 in atlantic city and 52 degrees in dover, delaware, so still mild at this hour. we're going to keep it mild all night long. that southwesterly flow helping to keep us mild. so winds right around 12 miles per hour in philadelphia, up to 18 miles per hour in redding and wind at night, we'll only drop into the low 40s in philadelphia. a live look outside, mostly clear skies right now, but we do have clouds by the morning. bidet break, you see those clouds in the area, associated with the front that's going to slide through. not everyone will see these showers but some will and they will be on the light side. this is right around 10:00 through philadelphia.

and then it slides off to the south and east and we're left over with a warm and breezy afternoon on monday. high pressure builds in on tuesday. that's going to bring us sunshine on tuesday and also another mild day in the upper 50s. then by wednesday, a more potent cold front moves through and a chance for scattered showers throughout the day on wednesday. also a windy day, winds gusting near 25 miles per hour so keep that in mind before we clear it out on thursday. tonight, mostly clear and breezy. 41 north and west. nice and mild overnight. clouds build in towards daybreak. those morning showers move through. then the sun comes back in the afternoon. warm and breezy. 57 to 60 degrees. well above normal once again. winds out of the southwest at 5 to 15 miles per hour. there's that high pressure building back in. 58 degrees. wednesday we're looking at rain and wind, 55 and that's going to usher in some cold air on thursday. much colder, 43 degrees and look at the temperatures on friday.

with you once again, the biggest question marks surrounding the eagles this offseason revolves around the meeting with sam bradford. the hopes of coming to a multiyear deal with the qb before he becomes a free agent on march 9th. eagles vice president, assessed the future of the quarterback position. >> we have to evaluate every level. we have to do starters, we've got to do backups, we've got to do third string and for us, we've got to look at every possible option to improve our

condition after he was shot by police in salt lake city last night. the 17-year-old and another suspect were hitting a man with metal sticks. the officers ordered them to drop the sticks, but the teen did not comply and police shot him. after the shooting, bystanders began throwing rocks and bottles at police. now to an update on that deadly police shooting in virginia. an army staff sergeant assigned to the pentagon is under arrest for the murder of two people including a police officer who was working her first day on the job. active sergeant ronald hamilton opened fire on prince william county police officers who were

responding to a domestic disturbance call. rookie officer later died from her injuries. saturday was her first official day on the job. >> she clearly had a passion to serve others in a way that went beyond herself. >> investigators eventually found hamilton's 29-year-old wife shot to death inside the home. the hamiltons '11-year-old son was also inside the house but was not hurt. the brother of an ohio pastor is facing murder charges after a deadly shooting. according to police his younger brother daniel schooler fired the fatal shot. 20 people were inside the church at the time. daniel's schooler is expected in court tomorrow. today family and friends gather to remember a former mass new jersey. he was laid to rest in her

a taste of spring across the region. perfect weather to head out and shoot some hoops. plenty of pickups games today here in roxboro. people were out and about everywhere today enjoying the mild weather. there was an old fashioned clam bake.

normally a summer event, but today's weather felt like it especially after a frigid february. folks here shed the layers in exchange for a much needed dose of vitamin d. >> so warm, like i was in orlando yesterday. i think it's actually warmer here. >> a week ago it was frigid and arctic cold. today it's 60 and butte. . -- beautiful. >> unfortunately winter is not over yet. >> it's going ton like winter toward the middle of the work week. we were mild, temperatures into the 60s. mild on monday and tuesday and then we do have some changes, so enjoy it while it lasts because winter will make a return. we are looking at mostly clear skies. it was a beautiful day. we're looking at a beautiful night. clouds start to build in towards daybreak and we're track ago chance of a few showers as we

you can track the latest winter storm. it could be coming a little bit later on this week with the free nbc 10 app. the pennsylvania man is dead following a skiing accident at a resort in the western part of the state. state police say 51-year-old was killed after another skier collided with him near the main lodge at 7 springs mountain resort. it's just about 60 miles southeast of pittsburgh. he suffered injuries to the head and neck. authorities say the incident is being investigated as an accident. from our delaware bureau, health officials say that a flu outbreak has hit the correctional institution in dover. so far there are 18 confirmed cases of the flu. six more cases are under review. to prevent further spread of the virus, all viz ates and programs there have been cancelled until further notice.
