and two young children. >> we'll get to that story in a moment but we begin with breaking news tonight. a driver hits a new jersey state trooper, shutting down a major interstate. nbc 10's randy gyllenhaal is live at cooper city hospital. any word on his condition right now? >> reporter: that new jersey state trooper's condition has not yet been released but ned needless to say, the injuries are serious enough and he was airlifted and there are troopers and police gathering an waiting. the state trooper was hit along 295 southbound near west stepford around 8:20 tonight. officials say the trooper was responding to this car fire which happened along the highway. he was standing in the road when another passing vehicle came by and struck him. at this point, officials say the trooper has serious injuries.

he was taken by helicopter to cooper hospital in camden and outside the ambulance bays tonight, a number of police cars and fellow troopers are standing watch waiting for any kind of update. and a live picture from sky force 10 above that crash scene and told the northbound and southbound lanes remain closed. you can see a major backup with a lot of cars trying to get through. avoid the area if you can and i got an update here with an official on scene and said the female driver that hit the trooper stayed on scene and cooperating with investigators right now. live in camden, randy gyllenh l gyllenhaal, nbc 10 news. in new jersey, a woman and two young children in the hospital after a tow truck driver struck them. >> reporter: denise nakano is at the hospital where they're being

treated. witnesses tried their best to help. >> reporter: two good samaritans picked up the youngest victims to bring them here to st. christopher's hospital for children. that accident involving children, a woman and a tow truck all caught on camera. >> i grabbed the baby. >> reporter: maria ortiz was a passenger in a suv that stopped to help two young victims and drove them to nearby hospital. >> i was on the phone to 911 but they could n't understand me. >> reporter: video of a corner store shows what happened before 7:00 tonight. a woman tried to cross the street with an infant in a stroller and a 4-year-old beside her. they stopped in the intersection in kensington as cars north zoomed past them. we stopped the video before impact. but a tow truck heading south hits the woman and the two girls spending them 30 feet in the air. >> to watch it on video, it was very disturbing because three

people, especially two very, very young children, being struck by a heavy tow truck, it's just disturbing to watch. >> reporter: police say the driver appears to have had the green light. he stayed on the scene to speak with investigators and told them he tried to slow down but by the time he saw them it was too late. the 24-year-old woman was unconscious as she was taken to temple hospital. >> the little girl look bad. >> reporter: the 1-year-old fared better than the 4-year-old with severe head injuries. now, moments ago i got off the phone with investigator who tell the conditions have been upgraded from critical to stable. reporting live, denise nakano, nbc 10 news. we also have big eagles news tonight. demarco murray is reportedly traded. we all remember the fan fare for his arrival. >> here it is. news helicopters trailing murray landing in philadelphia.

nbc10.com. new information tonight about a police chase in west philadelphia. we're told four innocent bystanders in critical condition. police telling us it started with a narcotics investigation. two suspects took off in a rental car toward west philadelphia and crashed into several cars injuring those four people. >> next thing i know this guy is coming around me, hits the side of my -- hit the side of my left front bumper. >> when we came outside, one person running down the street. we thought he got away. >> police arrested a suspect right away saying the other ran into a laundromat, changed clothes and helped on a bus. officers eventually caught up with him. a chester county man accused of shooting into the home of a child he's charged with sexually abusing. authorities say douglas cohen fired six bullets into the anybody's house yesterday. cohen out on bail after being arrested in january for abusing a girl who lives in the house.

one of the bullets just missed a child who was on a couch. >> and at 3:00 in the morning the defendant showed up with a .357 revolver, came up to the window and fired six rounds through it. >> came in. i would have been dead and my daughter. she was sitting here on my lap. >> that was the father of the alleged victim. we are not showing his face to protect her identity. cohen is held on $1 million cash bail. funeral arrangements have been set for the late nancy reagan, the former first lady will lie in repose at the reagan presidential library in california. wednesday and thursday followed by a private funeral friday afternoon. flags have been lowered to half staff outside the library in simi valley. they're at half staff over the white house and other government buildings in washington, too. mrs. reagan died of heart failure sunday morning at her los angeles home. she was 94. president obama spoke about her passing today.

do you recognize this man in the fe dora? police are looking for him. they say he shot an employee last night. this surveillance video shows the suspect who's believed to be in his 60s. investigators say the disgruntled customer meant to shoot the ple's brother after an argument. the victim is not hospital tonight. tonight nbc 10 obtained new video appearing to have katt williams in a brawl on stage during a local rap concert. take a look. the video taken last night during a performance in center city appearing to show williams charging at another man on stage. see several others jump in before bodyguards break up the fight. tonight the man who shot this video says he saw the comedian acting erratically all night.

in 2012, there was a portion of the sex tape where he is seen having sex with a friend's wife at the time. hogan testified today and said the release of the tape devastated him. >> i was embarrassed what it did to me as a person. it was even embarrassing, as a character. hulk hogan was embarrassed. >> hogan is suing for invasion of privacy. gawker claims the sex tape is newsworthy because he's a public figure. there's feedback on the plans to bring high-speed rail service to king of prussia. it would include five stops including one that drops you off inside the king of prussia mall. the service held first of three public meetings tonight. the next is wednesday. t-minus six days and counting to a possible new jersey transit rail strike.
