his van with his baby inside. good evening. >> tonight, that baby is safe and sound but the teenager who took him is still on the loose. >> nbc 10's denise nakano is live in west philadelphia. the father admits he is partially to blame. >> reporter: he has had time to think about it. he's thankful to his son back and he has a regret about leaving him in an unlocked running van. >> my soul sucked out of me. >> reporter: he spoke with nbc 10 describing himself as a good father who made a mistake. the decision to leave his son in a running unlocked van this morning set off a panicked search. >> i came outside, holding the bags. i just dropped them. i was like -- somebody just hit the flesh and everything flushed down out of me. i was like -- >> reporter: watch as a camera shows the suspect with a red

umbrella getting into the van with baby cameron in his car seat, keys in the ignition and cell phone also in the van. moore borrowed the phone to call his cell phone and when the thief did not answer, he texted him in messages of nbc 10. >> i text, i don't care what you do with the vehicle. you can have all of it. i get that back. just get me my son, please. that was it. >> reporter: the suspect texted where he could find the baby that he dropped off on a street in germantown. police say the baby was in the rain for about 15 minutes before help arrived. moore is not facing charges but he and his own family are examining the severity of what could have been. >> people do that, period. i mean, you never know what's going to happen. >> i put my nose on his nose and gave me punches. i said, i know, son. daddy did not make that mistake again. >> reporter: investigators are

looking for the stolen van and the suspect when's possibly 16 or 17 years old. live from west philadelphia, denise nakano, nbc 10 news. now a real-life nightmare. imagine waking up and seeing this over your bed. happened to a woman on the main line. he got away with the car and bank car. >> drew smith is live in the stratford section and he covered his tracks, drew. >> reporter: he did. not only have that mask covering his face completely, he was also wearing gloves. now, i'm standing in the regional rail parking lot. this is where he ditched the car that that woman had and he's stolen and we do know that during the crime frame of this crime -- during the time frame there were trains running late night service through here. as people headed home tonight in this quiet suburb, they told us they're worried about the robber in this picture. still out there after hitting

their neighborhood. police have little to go on with that halloween-style mask. >> scarier. i guess that's what he's going after. >> reporter: midnight saturday the man broke in through a basement window at the home on crestline road. once inside, he made his way to the foot of a sleeping woman's bed. >> i can't even imagine, especially waking up in your bedroom seeing spg like thsomet like that. >> reporter: bound the woman and he said be quiet and you won't be hurt. he took her car keys, jewelry and electronics and bank card and demanded the atm pin number threatening her with a stun gun. >> really upsetting. hate to imagine things like that happening to close to home. >> reporter: this machine at the wells fargo and captured him withdrawing the money. before getting away. >> i think people take it for granted. you walk away thinking it won't happen but it happens anywhere. >> reporter: police were able to recover that woman's car here in this parking lot.

police are asking for public tips to come in and try to help unmask the identity of this guy. i'm drew smith, nbc 10 news. an outpouring of support across the nation today to remember a fallen hero. hundreds stood in the wind and rain today to honor new jersey trooper cullens' life and the scene inside the church in new jersey. the 31-year-old officer died a week ago at an accident scene in gloucester county. new at 11:00, the hunt is on for a driver who mowed down dozens of geese. nick lake was driving behind a black chevy blazer saturday night in lewes and the driver intentionally veered off the road and ran over a group of snow geese. at least a dozen of them were killed. lang says he wanted to chase

after the driver and then thought better of it. >> i wasn't going to put other live's in jeopardy for something that, i mean, it's not my responsibility to do. >> he's hoping someone with information will come forward. but so far, no suspects have been named. from our lehigh valley bureau, concerns of spilled paint. emergency management officials say red paint leaked from a pipe at a plant this morning and then it flowed right in to a nearby creek. we're told environmental teams placed booms in the creek to contain the spill. turning to our weather, a damp night in center city. nbc 10 at 15th and market of a light rain and as you see by the flags a light wind to match. >> chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here. are we finished with the rain just yet? >> most of the rain and drizzle are gone. we have the low clouds and we will have more and more dense

fog as the night goes on. the clouds are already low and getting lower as we go through the night and the wind starts to diminish. now that the rain has pretty much moved out of the area, that moved offshore earlier but there are many showers back to the west. you can see west virginia and western pennsylvania. virginia itself moving in our direction. a lot of that is going to fall apart getting here but there's still that threat. just about all of the area reporting just cloudy skies right now. and the temperatures are in the 40s. we do have sunshine returning eventually. and 70-degree weather. i'll let you know when that happens in a few minutes. new at 11:00, investigating what caused this partial house collapse in philadelphia's winfield neighborhood. emergency crews responded to the 5600 block of lebanon avenue before 8:00 tonight and the rear of the house collapsed. no one was hurt. two former neo- nazi

brothers serving life in prison for murdering their parents could get new sentences. they admitted to the 1995 killings in their home. now the brothers will be re-sentenced based on a u.s. supreme court ruling that bans automatic life sentences for juvenile killers. the pair's younger brother was also killed in the attack and no one was convicted of his murder. in decision 2016, being called mega tuesday. >> that's because tomorrow marks a critical day in the race for president. the candidates fight it out in five delegate-rich states and the biggest florida and ohio. those states are also must wins for republicans marco rubio and john kasich who call them home. right now, kasich is leading most polls in his home state of ohio. >> rival donald trump is committing to beating him even if that means taking jabs at the support governor chris christie.

objection filed 15 minutes past the deadline and shouldn't count. today both sides had to file arguments with the judge. now to the democrats hillary clinton is currently leading bernie sanders in the polls in ohio. but the vermont senator's hoping for another upset like the one in michigan last week. >> in a few weeks ago people saying bernie sanders winning ohio? no way. guess what. we have a good vote tomorrow. people come out! we are going to win here in ohio! >> while campaigning today, clinton called on democrats to unify around her so the party can focus on the threat of donald trump. up to new jersey voters to decide if casinos should be built outside of atlantic city. there's a referendum on the november ballot today asking voters to approve two new casinos in north jersey saying it brings in gambling money going to neighboring states but others say it could be a death

the title happy birthday, hitler. fitness guru richard simmons says he is not held hostage in his own home. simmons spoke this morning during a phone interview on the "today" show denying a report that the housekeeper was keeping him against his will at his home for two years. >> i do what i want to do as i've always done and people should sort of just believe what i have to say because, like, i'm richard simmons. >> and richard simmons largely stayed out of the public eye since a knee injury in 2014. we had some pretty amazing weather last week and we start off this week, ugh, kind of nasty. damp and chilly in the day today and in to the evening. drizzle around. tomorrow morning, we are going

to add some fog to the mix. maybe get rid of most of the rain and add some fog to do it and then by wednesday the warm weather starts coming back. temperatures in the 60s and then maybe back to 70. not in to the 80s this week but into the 70s possibly. the low clouds are still around. they're likely to get lower as we go toward morning and the visibilities get worse. may not be able to see across the delaware by 7:00 a.m. 46 degrees right now. the wind northeast at 12. the wind will have to diminish for that fog to get dense and the wind does lock like it's going down each other. 69 degrees friday. 61 saturday and sunday. today's high, 50. tomorrow back up to 60 degrees. so today was just an exception. just because of the east wipd and clouds and rain and that was barely a couple of degrees below average. low to mid-40s. pretty much the same area we were in at 6:00 at night and the

temperature's not dropping much. the visibility has not dropped much in the last several hours. mt. pocono now less than a mile visibility. everybody else is well over two miles. but again, by tomorrow morning the numbers much, much lower and may take longer and maybe airline delays, for example. we have cloudy skies now. the rain is pretty much moved out. but there's another area about to move in. now, this is going to weaken as it approaches. but we could still see a couple little showers around in the morning hours tomorrow. temperatures you can see close to where they are right now. see a couple little light showers floating around. and then maybe a few peeks of sunshine in the day and then near 60 and then tomorrow night it's not that cold. by wednesday, the temperature is up there. 46 degrees for the low.
