winter strikes back just when you thought spring had arrive. another snowstorm is heading our way. good evening, everyone.

i'm jim rosenfield. you're looking at snow in colorado. one of the ingredients that will combine to make our spring snowstorm. nbc 10's meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here. glenn. >> it looks likely. the storm is going to develop along the mid-atlantic coast. it's going to be a nor'easter. here we are. it could start off as light rain, but the track is pretty classic as far as a winter storm is concerned. it gets colder and we have a chance of the snow sticking. the timeline could start in the morning.

it's all snow. 6:00 to midnight. that's the chance of it starting to stick once we lose the daylight hours. we'll talk more of the potential with the rest of the seven-day in a few minutes. new at 11:00, police shot a man police say pulled a gun on them. nbc 10's randy gyllenhaal live at temple university hospital. any word on that man's condition? >> reporter: police say this suspect is expected to survive. he was shot by a philadelphia police officer and rushed here to temple hospital. we're told this was a foot pursuit. the officers were on patrol in north philly. they recognized the man as a prime suspect in a previous shootsing not far from here about a week ago. they say this guy had about about three active warrants so as cops approached him, he fled

on foot. he went into a back alley way onto 15th street and that's where the confrontation went down. >> that's when the male pulled a gun from his waistband pointing it at police. officers ordered him to drop his gun. he refused. one officer discharged his weapon striking the suspect. >> reporter: the suspect was shot in the legs and torso. he's in stable condition. there's an investigation under way. a baby is safe after being rescued from a burning home. fire crew rescued the baby and two dogs from the home. we're not hearing about any injuries. medical marijuana could soon be league in pennsylvania, in fact, as soon as next week.

with the state house representative's approval, a final barrier has fallen but why it could still be a year before the medical marijuana industry is still up and running. >> walking through mar connie plaza, mike counts himself as a survivor, four years ago the marine corps veteran said he wasn't living, just existing. >> i was a zombie for five years on my couch with my pills like a zombie, drooling on myself. >> reporter: he said the strong prescriptions left him numb so on his birthday in 2012 he tried medical cannabis and tells us he's forever changed. >> i laughed for the first time in a really long time and i have not turned back since. >> reporter: such stories may soon become more common after the pennsylvania house approved a bill yesterday.

nbc 10 news. in decision 2016 tonight, president obama insists he is still not picking sides in the democratic presidential race. they privately told donors they should start to unite behind hillary clinton. tonight he's conceding defeat in missouri. he could have asked for a recount because the margin was less than one half of half a spirnlt but he seas he wants to save the taxpayers money. she now has 1,579 total delegates. that's compared to 859 for sanders, 2,380 delegates are needed to clinch the democratic nomination. on the republican side donald trump leads with 685, ted cruz with 427 and john kasich has 143. to win the gop nomination outright, 1,237 delegates are

needed. donald trump hacked. his campaign says authorities are looking for the hackers who released phone numbers and a social security number allegedly belonging to trump. they post thad information today. it comes two weeks after they did claired, quote, total war on the gop front-runner. donald trump said the government is investigating the attempted hack of trump's accounts. supreme court nominee glairngd made rounds tore. he sat down with vermont senator patrick leahy, this after senate republicans refused to budge on giving judge garland a hearing. they say the next president should fill the vacancy. >> he has more federal judicial experience than any supreme court nominee in u.s. history and during the time i knew him and during the time since. that's his reputation,

say they're protesting against plans to convert worcester, cook, and elementary schools into charter schools. the school reform commission is going against the communities wishes by plans to give these school over to charter companies. >> they have just turned a deaf ear to the demands of the educators as well as the parents and the community. today's rally came ahead of a meet big the school's reform committee. the school district tells us their focus is on having the best schools and the charter schools are part of that. about 08 operate in philadelphia right now. could a center city fixture flicker out. one of the largest public companies in the region is considering moving its head quarters. the aramark building has been part of the skyline for at least three decades. it spires in 2018. they told the philadelphia business journal several options

are being considered including a move to the navy yard or camden. aramark is the fifth largest public company in the region. close call in center city today. a school bus driver is safe here after a partial building collapse brought down a tree and a lamp post right onto his bus. it happened the morning. city officials say they had a permit. they say debris remained in the safety zone. the driver wasn't hurt and there weren't any children on the bus when it was damaged. well, angelo bruno's run as philadelphia's mob boss put him in the history book, the home he lived in gets a pass. today the philadelphia historical commission denied a request to use his home as a historical site. that i made their cases today but ultimately the commission decided against it, a big

experts say this technology could cut the number of rear end crashes by as much as half. a narrow escape for a salem county couple. an out-of-control truck slammed right into their home this morning sparking a raging fire. take a look at some cell phone video. you can see the flames shooting through the roof in pennsville there. it started after the truck hit a gas line inside the house. the come sleeping inside scrambled to escape. the husband is an active firefighter. >> my husband woke me and he saved my life. we heard an explosion out front. a car ran into our house and the house caught on fire instantly and we barely got out. we're lucky. we're very lucky. >> the driver tonight is charged with reckless driving and possession of marijuana. new at 11:00, the hospital said she wasn't ready to have her baby, but her son had other ideas. tonight we meet a newborn who couldn't wait to make his debut.

temperatures in the 60s. hard to believe in three days we'd see snow. the cold air is coming in starting tomorrow night and it will be cold enough for snow across a good bit. we have mostly clear skies right now. 56 degrees. the wind at 16 miles an hour. it's pretty mild for this time of night for this time of year. we were in the 60s earlier. it's 46 degrees in allentown. one of the cool spots. mt. pocono at 46. it's in the 50s across the rest of the area and it got in the 60s. another mild one tomorrow, but then the temperature really plunges by saturday. high of only about 47. sunday's high only about 37 degrees because it may be snow a ing and raining all day long. this is the only thing left on the drawer. showers way up to the north. even north of the poconos right

now. there could be showers tomorrow afternoon but not nearly as much as we saw today. we've got a couple of ingredients starting to get together. we've gotten the moisture in the rockies yochl u saw the snow in denver. with very a jet stream that's pretty strong coming down across texas and everything is going to start developing along the gulf coast within the next couple of days. at the same time the cold air is returning. so we're going have the cold air. then we're going have the storm. it doesn't matter what it is. it adds up to snow. it's far enough away to keep the cold air in and this is the european model, most accurate in the world overall showing the snowfall accumulation in general. the darker in blue indicating the heavier the snow. there's accumulating snow likely sunday to sunday night and new england is going to get blasted with it. the time line again during the

morning hours, it could start a mix of sun and snow and rain anding. if it gets heavier, it could be sticking. all north and west and then in the evening, that's the best chance of the accumulate laigs in and around philadelphia. still too early for specific amounts, specific places, but the lower chance of 4 inches or more down along the shore may be too warm. a chance partly because of mixing going on during the day, but a high chance of 4 plus new york and west where it's all snow. it's going to be plenty of moisture. clearing and mild for march tonight. 44 degrees for the low. during the day tomorrow, another mind one, another windy one, gusts to 35 miles an hour. then it gets colder on saturday. there's the storm on sunday. the first day of spring. it's windy and cold on monday, but look how quickly it warms up, and that snow is going to be
