federal police have issued a wanted notice for a third suspect in the airport bombing, he is the man on the right in that picture, at least 31 people were killed. nearly 200 injured. >> our nbc 10 team coverage begins with george spencer live in our digital operations center with the latest. >> president obama has offered his help to the people of belgium. this morning's attacks a deadly blow to the heart of the upeen union and nato's alliance. the attacks sent brussels into lockdown, two explosions at the airport. >> when i was outside i saw two people had like covered, really covered with blood. a lot of people whose hands were covered with blood. >> another explosion at a metro station. >> we felt a blast of air and we heard some thudding in the distance. >> late this afternoon belgian

media released pictures of the suspects at the airport just moments before the attack. the third suspect there on the right may have gotten away. today's attacks less than a week after officers arrested a suspect wanted for the paris terrorist attacks. and this afternoon we've learned that european leaders were bracing for weeks for a major terror attack, and today it happened. indeed belgium's ambassador to the united states said his country was suspecting an attack like this might be coming and had each stepped up security, but obviously none of it was enough to prevent today's tragedy. reporting live, george spencer, "nbc 10 news." and nbc news is reporting eight americans were injured in the the attacks, that includes a member of the u.s. military and four members of his family, their injuries do not appear life threatening. the other injured americans from utah, they were serving in

paris, but were at the airport when the explosions started. they are in the hospital with serious injuries. the u.s. embassy recommends that americans in belgium stay where they are and avoid public transportation. the embassy urged citizens to take appropriate steps to bolster their personal security. nbc 10 has been reaching out to people in our area who live in brussels. >> for one family the attacks left them separated. ted greenberg has the story. >> reporter: the brussels attacks left mayrilyn stuck in london after the train was canceled. >> even before hearing they're canceled you have concerns whether it's wise to be putting yourself in jeopardy by getting onto a public transport. >> reporter: she and her husband from south philadelphia and center city both work in brussels. he called her soon after this morning's attacks.

>> when some of the metro blasts went off, he was able to see people on the street running, you know, away. >> reporter: the subway explosion happened in a busy area that marilyn, the mother of a 5-year-old, travels through often. she and her family lived in brussels for three years. >> you have to make sure you stay alert and when something does go wrong, you batten down the hatches and just have a little faith in the universe that you know, god keep us safe. >> now in the aftermath of the bombings and more than 200 miles from home, she expects to spend another night away from her family. >> i have not yet committed to a train for tomorrow but i want to get home to my little girl and my husband. >> she and her husband libed overseas for more than a decade. she says she can't wait to one day come home to philadelphia where she would feel much safer living. ted greenberg, "nbc 10 news." a flight from brussels to

philadelphia was scheduled to leave just one hour after the explosions went off. many of those passengers were checking in at the time but thankfully no one was injured. this is video of the check-in area after the blast. the american airlines flight was canceled along with hundreds of others. the airport will remain closed for at least tomorrow. today president obama called for nations around the world to unite to defeat terrorism. the president was speaking during his visit to cuba. he pledged to do whatever is necessary to help belgian authorities to seek justice for those killed and wounded in the attacks. >> we must be together rartd regardless of nationality or race or faith, in fighting against the scourge of terrorism. >> the white house released this photo of the president and susan rice being briefed on the attacks.

the call was made from the residence of the u.s. chief of mission, in havana, cuba. as the attacks unfolded people shared the chaos. >> and the photos and tweets about what was happening. vince lattanzio is here to share some of them with you. what are we seeing? >> a lot of scary scenes and a warning that some of the images are graphic but we wanted to share them. this is at the airport right after the attacks happened. there are some people covered in blood including this child. this woman's face tells it all. this is what it looked like in the subways. we know some of the attacks, two explosions at the airport and then also the explosion at the metro station. and passengers were loaded off and forced to walk along the tracks through that smoky tunnel to get out of the metro. this is oud the metro. there is a man on the ground who was injured. people attending to him and

helping him and there is smoke coming out of the metro station. we showed you this before but this is the closest from inside the airport. you could see that some of the ceiling tiles had come down, people running out of this cafe that's there. debris all over the ground. this is the closest we've seen inside that terminal where those explosions went off. this is what it looked like immediately after as smoke billowed out of broken windows. the explosions were so bad that they blew all of the windows out of the front of the terminal. here is immediately in the aftermath you see people running down, running out, there was a parking garage to the left here where this gentleman is standing where he's filming. and people are just streaming out of the airport terminal right there. we have more photos from on the ground and stories about the suspect now on nbc10.com and the nbc 10 app. >> thank you.

that they think might be you know what i mean, a prochblt a problem to the area. and most of the time they're wrong. residents seem to agrow that this police practice can be used for good but hoping that increased account built will help cut back. >> families who lost loved ones due to drunk driving crashes rallied in pennsylvania's state capitol. pennsylvania parents against impaired drivers calling on lawmakers to decreasingen dui laws, that the state has some of the weakest penalties in the country. a family was among those rallying, a strunk driver slammed into the minivan killing a teen brother and sister. four other family members survived. another father who lost his daughter called for action. >> it's hard to put in words. it's something that we know we have to do.

i think it's just a one point in a long road. >> 2014, 345 people died in dui crashes in pennsylvania. wildlife officials have discovered yet another dead american bald eeg. that brings the number of dead birds to five. this after 13 were found near fed rals berg maryland last month. they discovered the first dead eagle saturdaynd three others in a field later died. a bird rescue has three additional sick bald eagles. they don't know yet what is causing the illnesses. our coverage continues of today's terror attacks. a family worried. these attacks happen at the check-in area which is before the security chicago point. we talked to an expert about these vulnerable areas.

nbc 10 with breaking developments on the terror in brussels. police are calling on people who may have filmed images from the

attacks to help with their investigation and come forward. the u.n. security council is urging increased regional and international efforts to overcome terrorism and violent extremism. and president obama ordered all u.s. flights to be flown at half-staff until saturday night in honor of the victims. >> the immediate aftermath of today's explosion at the departure terminal at brussels airport was caught on camera. you can see people running through the haze and smoke. isis claimed responsibility for suicide bomb attacks on brussels airport and a train station which killed at least 30 people. airport secure has been beefed up across the country from los angeles to new york. additional police officers have been dispatched, some armed with guns, others with bomb sniffing dogs, walking airline terminals. cydney long joins us from philadelphia international airport. >> you spoke with the national security expert.

he showed you the threats that police and passengers should be looking for. valuable information here. >> reporter: he says it all comes down to who does and doesn't fit in. for example, on a warm day like today someone who might be bundled up may appear suspicious and it's also about travelers like you and i being vigilant not just in the days and hours after an attack but always. spent years fighting terrorism and traveling with the canadian security intelligence service, now drexel professor dr. scott white knows suspicious when he sees it. >> somebody could run. >> do not enter. violators will be prosecuted. we're dealing with terrorists. >> we're not showing you areas of philly international could be vulnerable. this as there was a noticeable increase in law enforcement here today from philadelphia police, curbside and inside. >> we will be vigilant and out there doing what we're doing. >> reporter: two agents on foot and in government vehicles. >> we're doing what we can to

on the boardwalk in atlantic city took full advantage of all of that sunshine that we had. and wind coming in off the land. at least for a good bit of the day making it warmer than it has been. of course it's warmer inland. big warm-up coming over the next cup are couple of days, we're tracking showers over the entire area before the end of the week. and the easter forecast pretty wrsh. see if there is going to be rainfall. a lot of blue in that sky. very sunny day. 58 degrees, the wind southwest. pushing in warmer air. the temperature in the mid to upper 50s. across just about the entire area. a little cooler atlantic city. closer to the shore with the wind starting to into a sea

breeze. the ogs is colder than that. so sunday, a high of 43, remember weed that snow at night. we are two days later at 57. tomorrow 70. 73 on thursday. that's what three days of a southwest wind are going to do for you. right now it's 10 to 20-mile-an-hour wind. it won't be quite as stroj. but the wind is knock atlantic pollen around. today it's pretty high especially the june a per. through the next couple of days it's still very high. but the rain thursday night into friday will cut the pollen levels down. at least temporarily. we have some clouds that are approaching. temporarily. not any kind of significant moisture with it but not prit and sunny like it was today. the temperature tonight is not

going to go near as cold as it was this morning. and we're going to be near 50 in the morning so you're not going to need much of a coat at all in the afternoon we're headed up to near 70 degrees. once again right at the beaches and new jersey tomorrow night it's even warmer. the low temperatures are above the average highs. and that sets us up for a warm thursday. with rchs getting into mid-70s perhaps. not too far away from record levels. it's not going to stay that warm. colder air is going to come in as we go through at least saturday, and more significant cold next week. 47 in philadelphia. 39 north and west. tomorrow a lot of pressure again, a big difference --

>> a 19-year-old man is behind bars tonight. >> he is accused of robbing two stores with a machete. while dressed as a leprechaun. the robberies happened at two stores after midnight. the suspect was wearing a lime green wig and holding a machete. he managed to make off with almost $600 in cash. police arrested jamie rodriguez after a brief struggle. no employees were hurt. he is facing theft and assault charges, his preliminary hearing is set for march 30.

police conducting raids as they search for a third suspect in the airport bombing. in the last 10 minutes we learned the number of people injured in the attacks is more than 200. and united airlines canceled all flights to brussels until tomorrow. >> people paid tribute outside the stock exchange in the wake of today's attacks. hundreds of people placed flowers on a memorial, you can see there on the ground, others used chalk tooh write words of solidarity. >> nbc 10's lauren mayk with more. >> reporter: you can imagine how scary this is to watch from a distance, watching this unfold and then trying phone, e-mail, texting, social media, all to get that say to of relief that your loved ones are okay. far from the chaos, tom peters

we know that isis claimed responsibility for this attack, we've seen terrorism concerns in brussels ever since the paris attacks. people might be wondering why is this area a target? >> brussels is symbolic in that belgium has joined the coalition against isis so in any symbolic attack like this they are striking out as brussels as a focal point to say steer clear of us, we're up and 1ing and we're going to take the fight to you. this is more of a statement in regards to the public on isis. >> should americans be concerned about isis making a statement anywhere in the u.s., they are clearly going after these soft targets and using very sophisticated bombs. these are not amateurs. >> this is an active opportunity. there was a stop-gap measure that a number of hours will be reviewed on where that failed. americans need to be vigilant.

today the eagles' owner called the off season outstanding. >> yeah, howie roseman is back calling the shots after regaining control over player personnel howie has sprung into action to re-signing several eagles' own players to longer deals and making trades and signing several free agents. he got his power back after kelly was fired. kelly is the one who took it last year while roseman was away lurie encouraged him to learn prom the top executives and today at the nfl owners meeting lurie praised roseman's performance so far. >> what howie has been able to do is pretty outstanding in terms of a league that values salary cap space and draft choices to be able to be able to make those trade trades, align resources. he has a great plan, kept his nose to the grind stone and just kind of did the right things strategically. >> accountability seems to be
