let's talk about our weather. gorgeous spring day in the 70s today. taking a live look at center city skyline from the eagle's nest camera at financial field. big changes are coming and those changes start overnight. tracking april showers and a chance for thunderstorms that could impact your morning commute. nbc 10's chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz joining us with his first alert forecast. >> jim, one thing i can guarantee you it's going to be warm tomorrow morning. you're not going to need any kind of coats during the day tomorrow. we had a lot of clouds today, a little bit of sunshine from time to time. the temperature shot up in the 70s. a lot of clouds around, and the nearest showers, pretty light showers in central pennsylvania right now. and that could potentially affect us overnight. heavier activity in ohio and indiana, some thunderstorms there. that could be affecting us during the day tomorrow. the current temperatures are in

the 70s. in most places, even 71 in allentown and reading. mount holly. cooler right at the beaches with the southerly wind coming in off that cooler ocean. you can see that wind there. 20-mile-an-hour sustained wind in atlantic city. doesn't get too warm with a wind like that. 15 to 20-mile-an-hour winds in parts of the area. and with that southerly wind, that's going to keep the temperature up. it just barely moves overnight tonight. but we do have an increasing chance of at least light showers later tonight. the heavier storms come tomorrow. we'll have the timing on that and big changes for the weekend with the seven-day in a few minutes. >> see you then, glenn. new at 6:00, several health clubs are facing thousands in fines for not complying with consumer protection laws. fitness centers in wildwood, galloway, west winsor and vineland failed to register their businesses with the state.

and the state attorney general says consumers who pay for memberships deserve to know they are signing contracts with licensed clubs. each club is facing a minimum $5,000 fine. police in upper darby want your help finding the killer who left a woman's body in her bathtub and a disturbing note on her wall. mar kia benson lived there. her co-workers found the violent scene in her home. investigators believe the killer knew benson. she was found naked with injuries all over her face and neck and there were signs of strangulation. >> this was a very, very violent scene. it was a senseless killing. and this guy meant to hurt her and embarrass her and meant to harm her. >> and police say the writings on benson's wall pointed to the killer's senseless hatred. benson worked for a packaging company and was also a part-time student. to decision 2016 now.

candidates now have their sights set on pennsylvania. as the day to the primary gets closer. john kasich just finished speaking to supporters at the union league in center city. and during his speech he took on rival donald trump. >> it's clear that he is really unprepared to be commander and chief, leader of the free world. and to have a steady hand to try to get the united states back on track. >> kasich says he intends to compete aggressively in pennsylvania, before the april 26th primary. in a surprise move gop front-runner donald trump met privately with the republican national committee this afternoon. that meeting comes just a day after trump faced criticism for saying that if abortion were to become illegal, he would advocate some form of punishment for women who receive abortions. earlier this week trump said he feels he's no longer bound to the pledge he made to the party

villanova's march to victory. our team of reporters took off from philadelphia international airport today, touched down in the last two hours, in houston, texas. and look at that. that's where keith jones is joining us live. keith, you were surrounded no doubt by nova nation on the flight down to houston i bet. >> reporter: hey, jim. a ton of people from villanova. a lot of syracuse fans too but we landed about 90 minutes ago. we hustled down here and stopped on the side of the road to make sure we could say hello to you. look at this place we stopped at. a fine tex-mex, representation of the houston astros on the rooftop. a walk with me a little bit to get a taste of what houston is about. you see the texans emblem. as we go across, i know it's the 70s there, but it's 86 degrees here, it's hot enough to go to a car wash. and sweeping all the way left you see of course the skyline there of houston, texas.

barbecue. we look forward to your future reports. >> the men's basketball team is in houston, final four fever swept over villanova's campus at home while the men's basketball team is there in houston final four fever look at it in the book store. it was packed with fans looking for the latest gear. students believe the momentum helped to elevate the school's status. 600 new shirts arrived this afternoon. basketball success does help enrollment. after 2009, the year the men's basketball team made its last final four appearance, there was a jump in applications in 2010 to 14,362. and the university says the last three years have been record breaking for applications with more than 17,000 in this past admission cycle, prospective students tell us national attention on the team is an influential factor. >> funny because they have the accepted students facebook page and after the kansas game there were so many people like i'm committed, i'm committed.

after police say they found a large marijuana business growing in his home. investigators believe the doctor and his wife were growing the drugs, then selling them. but the couple's attorneys gave their side of the story. and deanna durante was there when the couple was in court. deanna. >> reporter: a brief court appearance. what they were here for didn't happen, a preliminarying got continued because the prosecution said it was waiting on lab results on what was confiscated and the defense says without that lab testing no one can be sure what it was police took. dr. jan widerman and his wife arrived for court. he refuses to talk to us. police say the discovery was made in his home in bucks county last month when they say that they responded to a car fire that spread to the garage. inside a locked room near the garage police found 40 marijuana plants packaging material and a safe with more than $16,000

this time yesterday. it's near 70 throughout the area. with the exception of the poconos and also the areas affected by the water. millville and atlantic city, the southerly winds, yeah, that prevents the temperature from getting up there. and it's going to be a really warm night, temperatures holding fairly steady through the 60s. all night. until it's not going to take much to get to the upper 70s tomorrow. when we're starting that warmth. it's cooler yesterday and we jumped up 1 fuf degrees today. we're going to jump up tomorrow and then the plunge comes, cooler saturday, much colder sunday and wind on top of that on sunday. speaking of wind, there's the southerly wind. the wind gusts 25 to 30 miles an hour. not quite as strong as they were an hour or two ago. we're seeing peeks of sunshine in here after the clouds came in during the afternoon. these light showers in central pennsylvania really falling apart. this is in ohio and indiana,

that is what's going to be affecting us during the day tomorrow with the showers and storms. now of course we'll be warm all night tonight. not going to need a coat tomorrow. at any time. there's some showers, though, around for the warning rush. and then later on during the day we may see some thunderstorms. those areas of red indicate some locally heavy rain and thunderstorms, and then we start to dry out friday night. but not the whole area. because look what happens. we got more moisture coming back up from the south, and especially in delaware and south jersey, could be lingering moisture saturday. mild and windy tonight, a chance of a late shower, 62 for the low which is not very low. during the day tomorrow, we've got showers and storms, it's not an all day thing but it sure is going to be warm all day. upper 70s, some places could touch 80, and gusting to 35 miles an hour. now, saturday the showers especially in delaware and south jersey, even in the philadelphia
