looks like knock down dominos. >> residents say it seemed like a micro burst. we found the worst of the damage in easton in north hampton county. that's why we find randy gyllenhaal for us tonight. >> reporter: once the storm got here into easton, the winds picked up, trees were knocked down, buildings were damaged. the massive tree in clive's backyard buckled in the wind, crushing his fence, nearly hitting his house, his fiancee was inside when the storm came through. >> she told me she heard a loud boom, and she looked out and the tree was down. >> it's one of dozens of trees knocked over across easton and not the first time for this family. >> this tree's been here for quite a while it fell down in 2000. one part of it, and -- >> now the rest. >> now the rest had come down

a wintery mix for part of your weekend. that's still straight ahead. breaking news in south philadelphia, a child was accidentally shot in the hand. sky force 10 over the scene. we're told the injured child is nine years old, he was taken to chop by his family where he's in stable condition. a changing of the guard is apparently in the works now. adam field will be named to replace sawyer. he's the deputy secretary of virginia's homeland security. provider to that he was fire chief in alexandria, virginia. he was reportedly one of three candidates mayor kenny was considering to run the department. two reported sex assaults in two days at west chester university. tonight one person's under arrest, police are still

searching for a second suspect. the suspect in custody is a student at the school. >> austin edye sexually assaulted a fellow student on april 1st. the victim told police it happened inside the new street parking garage on campus. the next day, a woman reported she was assaulted in her residence hall. that suspect is not a student. a push to end sexual violence took center stage on another local college campus tonight. delaware valley university in doylestown hosted take back the night as part of sexual assault awareness month. some people share their stories by decorating t-shirts with art and clothes. >> we teach people not to get raped we're just now starting to teach people not to rape. that's an uncomfortable part of the conversation we have to have. >> events like this are held in hundreds of communities around the country and the world to help put an end to all forms of

sexual violence. the three democratic candidates in pennsylvania's attorney general race faced off in a debate right here on nbc10. northampton county john morganelli and steven zapalla, jr. we questioned the candidates on their plans for the highest law enforcement office in the state. >> experience. it was a recurring theme at tonight's debate in the nbc10 studios. >> there's no correlation between running a county and a professional prosecutor's office. >> josh shapiro slammed by both men flanking him. john morganelli and steven zappala jr. who say shapiro's lack of experience is a red flag. >> how many times are you going to cut the grass in the park or

clinton, and today it was bernie sanders chance to speak at the afl-cio convention in philadelphia. the race is heating up between them. the most recent spark was due to sanders comment about whether clinton is qualified to be president. >> if secretary clinton thinks i just come from the small state of vermont, we will not be lied about. we will be fight back. >> hillary clinton is trying to downplay the war of words. new york holds the next primary on the 19th. clinton and sanders can agree on at least one thing, both candidates took the time today to congratulate the philadelphia gay news on 40 years in service. the publication celebrated the anniversary in style at the pennsylvania academy of fine arts. hundreds of supporters attended tonight's event. including mayor kenny. since their first issue in 1973, the philadelphia gay news has turned up more than 1800

editions. it's the most awarded lgbt publication in the country. tom wolf is joining the fight to crackdown on lgbt discrimination. this afternoon he signed an executive order that will prohibit state contractors from discriminating against people based on their sexual other yen face or identity. wolf says this is a small step toward equality. >> the society that is unfair to some is unfair to all. if we want a healthy economy, if we want a strong democracy, if we want a just society, we have to do this. >> wolf's actions come the same week that north carolina's governor is facing some backlash for signing into law a measure that limits protections for people who are gay and transgender. new at 11:00, an offensive photo is spreading like wildfire on social media. a group of new jersey students is to blame. the pic was posted to snap chat.

the princeton students are playing a game called jews versus nats saturday beer pong. the superintendent of princeton public schools sent us a statement which reads in part, i am deeply upset that some of our students chose to engage in a drinking game with anti-semitic overtones and broadcast their behavior over social media. an incident such as this one forces us to take a hard look at efforts in educating our children. new at 11:00, authorities say a bucks county company meant to provide food and management sources to greek organizations at lehigh university fleeced them out of nearly 2 $1/2 million. albert fisher is accuses of creating a fake company, which was hired by 20 of lehigh's fraternities and sororities. money meant to pay for food and other services for the groups was instead spent by fisher on personal vacations.

new guidelines. >> he looks into how the government and amtrak see this as a step to prevent future deaths on the railroad. >> it took only seconds for amtrak train 89 to crash and kill two workers on the tracks in chester sunday. their heavy duty backhoe blown apart. investigators said it would take weeks maybe months to sort out. >> it was totally unfortunate, it's a human error. >> already, the federal railroad administration is demanding that amtrak workers review safety rules and study communication protocols with dispatchers. >> it does appear that this is becoming a common theme. hopefully it can be remedied. >> part of the directive obtained by nbc10 is in bold print reminding amtrak that it must notify workers if there are changes to the job. tracks should not reopen to leave workers to the area.

on. they led police from the l.a. suburb of ceritos through hollywood, you see them doing doughnuts in the middle of the pursuit. police eventually caught up to the suspects and took them into custody without incident. a kentucky man picked the wrong place to rob. surveillance video shows the men snatch money out of the cash register at a butcher shop. he runs out the door with workers right on his heals. you is can see them getting ahold of the suspect and together they held him down until police got there. princeton university's men's lacrosse coach is out of a job tonight. he was fired after elbowing an opposing player during a game. the university said the move to terminate chris bates came after the review of the incident which happened during the game at brown university saturday. bates had been put on leave earlier this week. a $2000 fine and a 90-day trip to the slammer, that's what a new jersey man could be

facing, his crime? flying a trump campaign flag outside of his home. these flags have been flying outside the home of john hornic since february. recently he was cite d for flyig flags more than 30 days before the election. michelle obama brought her healthy eating to a new jersey school today. al roker was along for that visit. they toured the school's vegetable garden and sat down and sampled some of the school's fare. a north carolina fan isn't taking the loss to villanova very well. he says the national championship game officials decided the game, not the players on the court. he wants the ncaa to launch a

in for the weekend. i'll show you the timing in a minute. monday, phillies home opener, we have a lot of things happening here. cooler air on our doorstep. 30s to our north and west. still at 51 in philadelphia. the rain has cleared out, this cooler air is going to move in, already in the mid-40s through the lehigh valley, tomorrow morning it will be a cooler start 20 to your day. locally we're dried out from the heavier rain and thunderstorms we had earlier. could see a couple light snow showers blow in tomorrow morning, i wouldn't be surprised but i think we're mostly going to stay dry. philadelphia area seeing light rain now, and that extends into parts of montgomery county. this is really the last round of it. future weather showing us clearing out overnight. trying to pick up early tomorrow morning lake effect snow showers blowing in, wouldn't be a big deal. just don't be surprised if you do see it if you're west of philadelphia. nice and dry across the area. highs in the low 50s. for the villanova parade, it looks pretty good.
