this video if you don't believe me if you weren't around for our live team coverage as we showed you their march down market street. look at this. one university official told me at least 100,000 came out. they poured onto the streets a. senior told me it was too dangerous to get out and they had to change the route. they were all hoping to get a glimpse of the championship winning wildcats and when the team made their way to market street they stopped at dilworth plaza, city hall and addressed the huge crowd. >> we take great pride in representing the city of philadelphia, we take great pride in representing philadelphia of basketball. and today, everybody in philadelphia is part of the nova nation. >> this is something that nobody ever be able to take away from us. and whenever you see, let it fly.

>> reporter: that's junior kris jenkins who hit that game-winning three-pointer. listen, we were running i a round because it's so busy, still cleaning up. this was a parade to remember not only for the city of philadelphia, it's eight years since a victory parade but also for villanova alums, and also the philadelphia faithful who came out in droves today. jim, jackie, back to you. >> hope you got plenty of pictures and video of your own experience, keith. >> reporter: no question i did. i did have the same reaction as when i watched the game winning shot. it was humbling. i was beside myself because you know, on market street there were tens of thousands of people there, it was overwhelming. >> that crowd is amazing. keith jones, we'll check back with you in a bit. our coverage continues right now with nbc 10's lauren mayk there with the fans. >> a lot of people playing hooky today. >> reporter: yeah, jim and jacqueline. villanova canceled class today but i saw a lot of kids who were a little young to be villanova

students, so we know that their parents let them get out of class. parents told me they wanted them to have this memory today. and take a look at what they got to be part of. those were some of those excited fans we saw out there today. for this parade, the crowd packed center city. they lined up as close as they could get to see the team. they were all decked out in blue and white, and the parade here in philly was a chance for the whole city, the whole region to celebrate. students, fans who all felt part of nova nation today. >> this is crazy. i mean it's been so thrilled being in louisville and houston and the whole build-up over four years. you couldn't ask for a better way to end your senior year. >> it was nice for the guys.

bring a little morale to the city, maybe each the rest of the teams can follow, the pro teams, flight they hurting you know. so villanova, go wildcats. >> reporter: i heard that from several people. you know, coach jay wright predicted we would be back out here for another celebration. live in center city, lauren mayk, "nbc 10 news." >> now to the celebration is over, nbc 10's tim furlong is monitoring that mass exodus from smer city. >> tim, are you seeing big problems at this point? >> reporter: i have good news and bad news. here is the bad news, getting around city hall is tough because the good party we had, there is a big cleanup and you can see they blocked off the area east of market so 18th and market over to city hall blocked off as they clean up. the good news is the subway system, the trolley system, they

are prepared for this, and you can see there's a lot of police presence here. there are still a lot of villanova fans like this family here that came in for the parade, they are still here. here's the good news. you go to suburban station which is a lot of where a lot of the villanova fans go to get westbound out of town, back to the main line, that area is -- they had special people in red t-shirts navigating people through. and i also talked to a septa police chief who basically tells me he thinks a lot of people either are staying late and going to dinner or cutting out early because they took in the parade. take a listen. >> i'm promising people who leave work at 5 we'll have it cleared out so i've been down to talk to were and they are doing their best. i'll tell you, the septa employees, they have a lot of ambassadors, the railroad folk vsz additional trains. tremendous cueing lines for passengers that are well marked. so folks are going to get out pretty quickly. i think it will be good at rush

hour. >> reporter: you come back live, you got to remember if you're watching you know this ended a couple hours ago yet you see a lot of fans out here. it means not everybody is cramming at one time. septa says they are monitoring things, and they really haven't had problems. they say where they go all of these fans that are here, they are trickling out. so there was one mass to get out, that's done, the rush hour shouldn't be too bad. live in center city, very happy villanova fans. go cats. >> lots of v's and high fives to go around. matt delucia is watching the situation from up above. >> it was incredible to see it from up above. dilworth park filled. you could hardly see ground. matt delucia joins us live with one of the best vantage points. >> reporter: it was a nice view up here. i wish i was down there with all of the excitement that tim is

experiencing. let me show you what tim was talking about. the cleanup efforts, you're looking at market street, this is at 16th street and it looks like a couple of police vehicles are making their way through. this has been shut down since the parade ended there. you see the backup of cars, a lot of taxis, vehicles out there. and this backup stretched past 17th street. so we've got a couple block backup here in center city as cars are being forced to move their way on to 16th street here. this is where the vehicles are being forced to turn off to sort of a bottleneck situation. down here you can see this is where they have been trying to clean everything up. we've seen the sweeper vehicles trying to get all of the water down there, trying to get that stuff cleaned up there by dilworth park. one of those vehicles there now. at this point the cleanup is under way, pedestrians are able to get across the street but of course this is still shut down over there by city hall until the cleanup is complete. the city is telling us they are

currently, though, we are dry and will stay dry tonight so if you have friday night plans you don't have to worry about the rain and snow. we're going to keep the clouds around. a live look at center city, we have overcast skies. most of the area seeing the cloud cover but there you see it on radarment we don't see any rain or snow yet. it's back off to the west so you see this system spinning around chicago. not a lot of moisture with it at the moment. it's a clipper system, so it dropped down from canada and is going to continue moving into our area tomorrow. we don't expect anything fairly heavy from it. i'll show you that in a second. winds gusting near 30 miles an hour from the west. it is a windy afternoon. going to stay windy tonight and tomorrow once the rain and snow moves in. temperatures chilly, mid-40s, low 50s for south jersey and delaware. look what happens as we go into saturday morning. we stay dry tonight, then here comes the rain and snow. this is 8, 9:00. snow north and west, rain through new jersey and delaware. temperatures, though, should be

right around a little above freezing. so at that point we would be seeing a rain/snow mix or wet snow. this is going to last most of the day tomorrow. i'll show you the rest of the timing and the rest of your weekend forecast coming up. >> all right. see you in a bit. i want to tell you about new information on a deadly arrest you're about to see. dash cam shows a car lose control and crash on columbus boulevard early this morning. two people were killed, two others hurt when that car barreled right into that building, now police are trying to figure out why this happened. nbc 10's brandon hudson is following that story for us. what are investigators telling you? >> reporter: jim, we heard from police in the last 30 minutes. one of the names of the passengers who died in that crash, his name a 23-year-old man. one of the men or the other passengers in this crash cannot be identified at this moment. police are trying to find out how the driver lost control of her car and crashed into a

building killing those two passengers. when nbc 10 returned to where two people died in a car crash in south philadelphia, a crew was repairing the wall where the car hit. a spokesman with peco which owns the building says the impact damaged one of the offices inside. here is video of the car moments before it crashed. philadelphia police say a 23-year-old woman lost control of her car. >> she skid like hit a bump, up on the center media, and then just skid across the median, across and hit the building. >> sid shared the video with us. you karn see the driver swerving and sparks fly. >> she started like racings down, blowing red lights and everything else. >> we found out the two passengers a 23-year-old man and a woman in her 20s died. police say they were not wearing seat belts. the driver and front seat passenger were hurt but will survive. they are in the hospital.

officers work to find out the official cause, believe speed was a contributing factor. >> had to be going 80, 90. i was doing 60. >> when i called peco a spokesman told me that this crash was tragic but it's not surprising, i'm working on that part of the story for 5:00. i'm brandon hudson, "nbc 10 news." a school bus filled with children crashed on the eastbound side of the schuylkill expressway this morning, sky force 10 over the scene at the conshohocken curve. all of the children on the bus appeared okay. take a look at this. toppled crane in delaware, sky force 10 over mcdade boulevard in darby about 30 minutes ago. the crane fell over in the parking lot of a supermarket being renovated. no one was hurt but the crane is still leaning against the supermarket. it's not clear what caused it to topple. now to a developing story. a shooting at an air force base

in texas leaves two people dead. nbc 10's tracy davidson who is live in our digital operations center tells us it was a murder-suicide. what other details do you have? >> according to a senior u.s. official an air man shot his commander and turned the gun on himself this morning in san antonio, texas. the base went into lockdown. officials discovered two handguns near the bodies of the men, found inside a building houses classrooms and offices. a general who oversees the base says the murder-suicide was not a terrorist attack and the air force is leading the investigation with federal assistance. >> we're prepared for this and as a result of that training, we were on scene and we were in the facility within three minutes of that initial call. >> the names of the shooter and his victim won't be released until all of the family members learn of the incident. tracy davidson, "nbc 10 news."

now to decision 2016. where the keystone state continues to get its share of high profile visits leading up to the pennsylvania primary. this morning former president bill clinton worked the crowd at penn state's erie campus, he is out campaigning for his wife. democratic presidential candidate of course hillary clinton. he told the group he, quote, almost wanted to apologize for arguing with a protester at an event in philadelphia yesterday. meanwhile, the candidate herself campaigned in new york city which holds its primary on the 16th, a week before pennsylvania. and this morning on nbc tess today show, despite losing six of the last seven contests she feels good about her campaign for president. >> clinton's rival appeared on "today" this morning answering questions from voters. bernie sanders plans to attend a conference at the vatican next week, focusing on social and economic issues. pennsylvania and delaware hold their primary elections coming up on april 26th, new jersey

voters go to the polls on june 7th. and for a complete decision 2016 coverage including the latest delegate counts and primaries and caucuses, tap the nbc 10 app. we have new video here showing the arrest of an american airlines co-pilot who police say intended to fly drunk, authorities detained john mcguire last month after a tsa officer reported he was acting strangely as he passed through security in detroit before his flight to philadelphia. mcguire who lives in chadsforth, delaware county failed a breathalyzer test at the airport and again at the police station. he's charged with operating an aircraft under the influence. american airlines tells us it will resume flying from philadelphia to brussels but not until june 14th. the airline suspended those flights after last month's terrorist attack which killed 32 people. the terrorist group isis took responsibility and today belgian

authorities announced the arrest of the so called man in the hat believed to have been the third attacker seen walking through the brussels airport. he was also involved in the november paris attacks. the vatican released a long-awaited document today on marriage and family. pope francis wrote it. it says the church must no longer sit in judgment of people who fail to live up to the ideals of marriage and family. but it does not change catholic church doctrine on divorce. however, the pope writes it's time to stop throwing stones. well, it is cold and windy outside. and we're seeing overcast skies through most of the area right now. tomorrow very different. these clouds tomorrow, they are going to bring snow and rain for part of the area. so that is still in the forecast to start your weekend. saturday night into sunday morning we have freezing temperatures, so another freeze

watch through most of the area. if you have the sensitive springtime plants you'll want to cover them or bring nem inside. monday, big day for the area. we'll see milder weather so that's good. right now in philadelphia mostly cloudy, 50 degrees, winds gusting at 30 miles an hour. it is windy outside but at least it's dry. things will be changing as we go into tomorrow. so locally the clouds back off to the west, right around chicago and the great lakes we have our next storm system. we are not out of the woods yet with snow, so we do expect some to be moving in tomorrow. it's a clipper system, not a ton of moisture but as it moves in tomorrow we'll see the rain and snow. and any snow would be wet snow through the area. here's a look at future weather. your friday night does look dry so you don't have to worry about an umbrella or anything tonight. by 11:00 p.m. will be around 40 philadelphia, 30s north and west, a cold start tomorrow morning and that's all ahead of this next system. so by 7:00 a.m. south jersey and

delaware, warm enough for rain. elsewhere we could see rain snow mix or even wet snow. 10:00 tomorrow morning, north and west of philadelphia, temperatures should be a little above freezing but you see they are pretty borderline. this would still be wet snow. if this system moved in a little bit earlier, there is a chance we could see some of this sticking to pavement. the chance is going to be small. the best accumulation will be on grassy surfaces. through the middle of the day we're going to see the rain snow mix. we could have pockets of wet snow in new jersey and still seeing it continuing west of philadelphia but notice the temperatures still above 32 degrees. so, that is going to be a factor in not allowing snow to accumulate as easily especially on pavement. by saturday night, 9:00 p.m., this is clearing out and temperatures drop down to freezing again. mostly in the 20s, so we have a freeze watch. snow forecast not a big deal. mostly grassy accumulation. so new jersey and delaware, you

are mainly going to see rain. you could see areas of a wintry mix. as far as accumulation i think it's pretty difficult in spots. philadelphia area and up to trenton down to northern delaware may be an inch or less, that would be grassy accumulations. through the lehigh valley to the poconos maybe an inch or two. again it's that wet snow. so a little harder to accumulate some areas. tonight, though, cloudy and cold, 38 for the low in philadelphia, 32 areas north and west. so it is going to get cold tonight. but we're not going to see the arrival of the snow and rain before we go into tomorrow. starting early tomorrow that's when we'll see some of the precip move in. so as we go through the day tomorrow, the clouds will be here but the rain and snow could start as early as about 7, 8:00 in the morning. it is going to be a windy day too. winds could be gusting up to about 30 miles an hour, temperatures topping out from the upper 30s to low 40s. so windy and cold with those rain and snow showers around. areas along the shore you may just see rain but there are some

opener forecast is straight ahead. go to breaking news from sky force 10. we're getting word about a shooting in germantown. >> what do you know? >> reporter: well, we just got over the scene here, this is in the germantown section of philadelphia. looking at a bus here, we're told there was a shooting on this bus here, the el bus, at worcester and nedro avenue. you can see where that bus was parked is by which isster street. there is police activity. another bus out there perhaps to off-load some of the passengers. we're not clear on injuries, we're gathering more information. this just happened a short while ago. you see the police officers are out there beginning the investigation. the suspect has fled the scene so we're going to stay on top of this and gather more information as soon as we get that. matt delucia, "nbc 10 news." we know you'll keep us

updated. thank you. let's go to news from ac. it's going to take a lot to ease the crisis in atlantic city. the battle between state and local leaders escalated yesterday again. >> municipal workers got their last paycheck until next month. this is a last ditch effort to keep the city from running out of cash. cydney long is live in atlantic city. what's the mood there? >> reporter: jim and jackie, i can tell you for the city workers the mood is definitely one of uncertainty. city hall here is open and those workers are working but they are doing so under the duress of having to take today, friday's paycheck and make it last for 28 days, they admit it's a brand-new and scary feeling. we first caught up with dennis 2 1/2 weeks ago, keeping atlantic city streets and sidewalks safe. >> i've been working this job for 20 years, to lose everything

would be very -- it's a nightmare. you know. we're all feeling it. >> reporter: especially when you earn over $22,000 a year and you have to make today's paycheck his regular bi-weekly rate last 28 days, he has a second job but with two children he and his wife are very nervous. >> i'm kind of actually speechless. i'm not sure what to do. >> it's going to be tough. i've been negotiating with the utility companies, with the mortgage bank and you know, they are somewhat understanding of the situation. >> reporter: birthday celebrations will be postponed, coupons curt and plans for a new car right out the window. >> two weeks from now we may have -- we maybe get a ham for dinner. who knows. you don't know these things. >> they can't solve 50 years of problems in a year or two. >> reporter: the mayor hoped that a new bill may get the green light in trenton next week but knows it will take negotiation to get governor christie to change his mind on a

full state stakeover. >> i'm worried that the governor is going to have his way. i'm having everybody to hang in there. we're doing everything we can to make the pay roll payment. we realize that some people even at two weeks were living pay roll to pay roll. this is really tough for them. >> reporter: even though we're here in atlantic city we have been on the phone and e-mailing lawmakers in trenton. we found out that they are still tweaking the economic recovery bill. this as a judge in atlantic city ruled tentatively in favor of city government here, that by not freezing the assets of this city government here in atlantic city so essentially that judge's ruling today buys the city more time until they have to make a payment to the school district which was scheduled for april 15, now a new hearing has been scheduled for april 19th. cydney long, "nbc 10 news." when it comes to rush hour, congestion goes with the

going back out live to matt delucia with the latest on a shooting on a bus. >> reporter: we got new information in the past minutes, septa police telling us that a man was shot on the street here, then ran onto the bus. the victim was shot in the leg. you see that bus parked there, this is on nedro. this is about two blocks away from lasalle university. you can see the bus, investigators are going around and into that bus trying to

begin this investigation. we don't have a condition on the victim at this point but there was another septa bus out here about two minutes ago, off loaded passengers got on that second bus and pulled away. so this bus is staying here, as the investigation continues. but we're going to stay and gather more information but this is the l bus at worcester and nedro. police are looking for that person. one automaker has a plan to make your rush hour drive home less stressful maybe. ford says its new 2017 fusion will offer stop and go technology for its cruise control option. the car will automatically accelerate and then brake for the driver and still maintain a safe distance from the car ahead. ford uses radar and cameras to adjust the cruise control function. >> that might make me nervous speeding and slowing down. a lot of trust. how fast do you type and how

tomorrow, though, we still have snow and rain in the forecast for your saturday. really depends where you live if you're in new jersey and delaware, you have a better chance of seeing rain but we are tracking a wintry mix. after that leaves we go into sunday morning, we're going to see temperatures in the 20s. so freezing temperatures return this weekend and we have a freeze watch out. because of that. so over the weekend if you have the sensitive vegetation, cover them or bring them inside. phillies' home opener is monday. i have the forecast for you too in a minute. right now we're looking out at center city, the clouds around and quickly temperatures will be dropping once the sun sets, into the low 40s by 11:00 p.m. then in the 30s as we go overnight and into tomorrow morning. at that time this system will be approaching, what you see here around chicago, some rain and snow, that's their system for tomorrow so a clipper system. not a lot of moisture with it right now. we don't expect it to have much as it moves in. but we expect rain, snow in the forecast for tomorrow. a rain-snow mix through part of

the area. right now we're nice and dry action we have clouds around and we will stay dry for your friday evening. so if you have the plans tonight, it will be getting colder and will stay a little breezy but it's really tomorrow morning when we see everything move in. now we're looking at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow. there is that system i showed you around chicago, some snow more likely north and west of philadelphia. that would be a wet snowment rain more likely where you see temperatures in the low 40s tomorrow morning like new jersey and delaware. otherwise a rain-snow mix across the area by 10:00 a.m. we could still be seeing snow north and west of philadelphia but then we go through the afternoon and still it continues by 2:00 p.m. but a lot of rain is going to be mixing in for parts of the area too. that's going to affect snow totals if we even see much of that. now we go into sunday morning, temperatures in the 20s, so any precip that falls saturday and is able to accumulate we could have freezing problems early sunday morning. now as far as the snow forecast is concerned keep in mind mainly grassy accumulations, mostly

melting on the roads, we'll have to watch the timing though, it could stick early tomorrow morning. if it moves in a little earlier, so we'll have to be watching the temperatures closely. new jersey and delaware you will see rain, closer to philadelphia, new castle county, trenton, maybe an inch or less. mixing in with rain so hard to accumulate especially as it falls during the day. north and west possibly 1 to 2 inches but it would be that wet type of snow. for tonight, cloudy and cold, 38 the low in philadelphia, 32 areas north and west. a cold windy day tomorrow with those rain and snow showers around too. high temperatures from the upper 30s to low 40s. so with those temperatures it's also going to be a little hard for this all to accumulate. so keep that in mind as we go through your day tomorrow. it will be clearing out saturday night. then cold in the 20s sunday morning, 49 sunday afternoon. sunny, windy and cold and there you see it. your opener monday, 60 degrees and milder. for the first four months of
