around 30 miles an hour. chilly around the upper 40s to near 50 degrees. we go overnight, this is future weather. temperatures drop in the 30s. then there you see it rain and snow moving in tomorrow morning. as early as about 7, 8:00 in the morning. we'll have to watch the timing closely because if temperatures stay around freezing north and west which they could be a couple degrees above that, some of the snow falling could be stickingment now the best chance would be grassy accumulations but you see part of the area will be seeing just rain from this. so a rain-snow mix tomorrow coming up i'll show you the timing through the rest of your saturday. what you can expect locally wherever you live and also how much colder it's going to be by sunday morning and the phillies' home opener. >> the weather cooperated for today's parade. thousands swarming center city to celebrate these guys, the villanova wildcats. >> there has been a little speculation whether the wildcats are really philadelphia's team. mayor kenney had an answer for

that today. >> i am a big 5 guy by birth and a big five member does something great we celebrate. congratulations on this wonderful achievement. >> today, everybody in philadelphia is a part of the nova nation. >> arguably the biggest fan nbc 10's keith jones joining us live from center city. >> super fan, mr. keith, you covered the wildcats in the tournament, on the road with them. what was it like to celebrate with hem here at home? >> reporter: i had the privilege of covering them the last month. i'm really honored to do that as a villanova alum. it was incredible today. the cleanup is about finished. we're in the shadow of city hall here from dilworth park. look at this. all of this traffic backed up, preparations, stilling made to make sure all of this traffic gets through after thousands of people came out tonight. here are the best sights and sounds of the victory parade. >> tens of thousands of fans.

>> have you seen this many people before when you look out? >> never. we were looking at it on the jumbotron. it was insane. philadelphia definitely put on. >> stacked rows deep from the ground to several stories up. >> hi to everyone, in the buildings looking out. it's been awesome. >> i didn't expect this many to show up so when it got the turnout it did, it was humbling. >> that's saying a lot from junior kris jenkins with the game-winning three. this parade, a close second. >> once we started moving i was like wow, way more people than i expected. >> i think all of us were shocked as the parade grew down market street we were in amazement of the crowd. >> we have the best fans in the country and to see them all here in the cold in the middle of the day is great. really have a lot to do and we appreciate it a lot. >> reporter: there are still some stragglers here.

cash. >> reporter: after losing his casino job two summers ago. >> i'm taking each day as it goes, you know. and just going to see what happens. >> single dad anthony didn't think his career in the city's traffic maintenance department might also come undone. and he's not alone. >> we're concerned. we're scared. the rest of us that are left are scared. >> we spoke to dennis, a mason for public works two weeks ago. and then again today. about making today's friday paycheck last for 28 days for his wife and two kids. >> we have to make every penny count right now. we cannot be wasteful at all. getting paid 28 days from now is going to be difficult. >> we've been staying on top of all of the players, governor christie, the speaker by phone and e-mail as well as their social media posts. mayor guardian says some came to city hall's revenue window to pay their may 1 taxes early

because the city needs it. and where the state has sued atlantic city about paying the school district and making pay roll payments, today a judge ruled temporarily in favor of atlantic city by not freezing assets so it buys the city a little more time. >> yesterday they tried to get an injunction against the city not to make payroll except for minimum wage. so actually reduce everyone to minimum wage, luckily it wasn't filed with the courts in time. >> as families brace for a tough month. >> this is new territory. there is no paycheck, there is no civility. >> i guess everybody going to get it late. hopefully. >> like the mayor they are praying, governor christie has a change of heart if lawmakers convince one another a modified bill can save atlantic city without a takeover. >> seems like he has his own agenda and he's just -- doesn't care. he really does not care and he doesn't care whose neck he steps on to get to where he wants to

be. >> from atlantic city, cydney long, "nbc 10 news." new video of a man robbing a woman as she walked her dog in north philadelphia. the video was taken last friday at 12th and west cambria street. you see the man walk up and start digging through her pockets. he actually parked his car and walked over to rob her. he was driving a four door se n sedan. >> police are trying to determine how a driver lost control of her car and crashed in south philadelphia, killing two passengers. a witness shared this dash cam video with nbc 10. it shows the driver swerving moments before her car barreled into a building on columbus boulevard before 3:00 this morning. the impact killed the two back seat passengers. one of them is ben jimmy. the other passenger was a woman. she is not identified. we spoke to a witness. >> he skid like hit a bump, up on the center media, and then skid across the media and shot

across and hit the building. >> police say the victims were not wearing their seat belts. the driver and front seat passenger are expected to survive. no one is facing charges at this time. a mercer county judge tossed out a lawsuit against governor chris christie during his presidential run. three accused him of using taxpayer dollars to pay for his security detail on the campaign trail. they wanted the governor to reimburse the money. christie long argued that his state police protection is mandatory regardless of what he is doing. drones are now flying out of the horsham air guard station, the pennsylvania national guard launched its first combat air patrol earlier this week. military officials say they are increasing their demand for drones but also need more qualified pilots. the horsham station is one of 12 drone command centers in the country. from our delaware bureau, a

pregnant woman and her husband are seeking damages from their landlord after a deadly carbon monoxide leak last month. the couple filed the complaint against the owners of the river front heights apartment complex in wilmington. they claim management was negligent in allowing a boiler veptlation system in their building to fall apart, causing the seal leak. four people died, nbc 10 did not hear back from management. >> oversees, belgian authorities arrested several people in connection with the brussels and paris terror attacks. one of the suspects had been on the run for nearly five months after the paris bombings. the arrests came a day after police released video of a key suspect in the attacks at the brussels airport. investigators haven't said if that man was one of the people arrested. american airlines says it will resume its philadelphia to brussels service as a flight in june. that has been suspended since last month's bombings at the

brussels airport. >> a former catholic basketball coach pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting one of his teen players. the district attorney says that daniel eddinger reached a plea deal. investigators say he befriended the 13-year-old, then became her tutor. the assaults happened more than a deck aid ago but the accuser recently came forward. new at 6, new water tests at a montgomery county school show possible lead contaminants in a drinking fountain and water line. the principal of penn win school sent a letter home to parents, it informed them of the results. it says the epa doesn't believe the contaminants are a public health concern but they could require more testing and monitoring. the next round of tests will try to determine if there is an issue with the water quality, those results come back monday. right now on nbc10.com you can find more information about lead, how it's handled in your

kiss is coming to town, the rock group will per from at the great allentown fair thursday, september 1. kiss is hitting the road for their 2016 freedom to rock tour. tickets go on sale next friday. well, a chilly windy end to your friday and tomorrow we're going to be starting off the weekend with rain and snow. we have been tracking this for several days and everything looks on track for tomorrow. we'll have rain and snow showers starting early in the morning and then we're talking about each colder temperatures as we go into sunday morning we have a freeze watch, temperatures will be in the 20s. so it's going to be a cold weekend. then we go into monday, phillies home opener just in time, we will get back to near 60 degrees. live look at citizens bank park now. looking good in philadelphia, mostly cloudy skies but the winds are gusting near 28 miles an hour so chilly and windy.

tomorrow another windy day but colder than today. that's when we'll see this move in. what you see around chicago now, this is our next system for the weekend. it's going to start early tomorrow morning, we have rain and snow here, it's a clipper system so it dropped down from canada. typically clipper systems are smaller systems, they move faster and in most cases they don't bring very heavy precip. this one i don't think will but we will be seeing rain and snow starting off your weekend. locally we are dry, we're going to stay that way as we go into tonight. so for friday night plans, we don't expect rain or snow. it will be dry for you. just clouds increasing but staying cold, temperatures into the 30s, then here is 8:00 tomorrow morning, so we have heavy rain, possibly in parts of south jersey and delaware. it's going to move through fairly quickly, then snow north and west. temperatures in the 30s there, so if this moves in a little bit earlier, and it certainly could, it could speed up, temperatures through the lehigh valley closer to freezing, better chance of some of this sticking.

but then we do start to warm up throughout the day. so then the chance of this sticking to pavement would be much lower. a rain/snow mix possibly each northern delaware but temperatures in the 40s through new jersey and delaware. so we'll see mostly rain in those areas. best accumulation on grassy surface, 3:00 in the afternoon temperatures pretty well above freezing for most of the area, so at this point we would still be seeing rain with that wet snow mixed in. then clearing as we go into saturday night and getting colder for your sunday morning. freezing temperatures again, so we are going to see another freeze early sunday, if the you have sensitive plants, cover them up outside, if you can bring them in you might want to do that. as far as the snow is concerned for tomorrow, i don't think it's going to be a big deal. the best accumulations grassy accumulations, mainly melting on roads but there is a chance it could stick early. we'll have to watch that and temperatures closely. mainly rain for south jersey, closer to philadelphia, one inch or less, 1 to 2 through parts of

the lehigh valley and the poconos. but it's not going to be a situation i think where we see very heavy snow. it's mostly going to be a mix or wet snow. tonight, though, cloudy and cold, 38 for the low in philadelphia. 32, areas north and westment tomorrow the rain and snow showers move in early. it's going to be a windy day tomorrow. highs will be topping out close to 40 degrees in some spots, low 40s for south jersey and delaware. sunday colder, sunny, then monday around 60 degrees. >> up next, more from today's villanova parade plus jay wright talks about the possibility of leaving the wildcats.

i'm marshall harris. what a week for villanova. monday the wildcats cut down the net in houston after winning the national championship, today they put an exclamation point on the celebration by parading through center city. the wildcats made their way from 20th and market to dilworth park with thousands of fans cheering them on. chris general quince the game winning shot against carolina addressed the crowd. >> we put a lot of hard work in this year and this is something that nobody will be able to take away from us. you see 127 let it fly. >> the national championship all of this doesn't feel real. feel likes a dream so. honored, so blessed, it's unbelievable. i can't even see where it stops. >> rumors starting around jay
