havertown, wilmington, fair mount and ardmore. now that snow is gone and a bitter chill comes in its place. we're bringing you team coverage of the freeze. let's start with michelle grossman. >> yeah, it's going to be a cold night. temperatures dropping into the 20s, if you have plans outdoors bring them in, cover them up. we're looking at clearing conditions, we had the spring snow up to five inches fell in parts of the area so a wide range depending where you were. it's dark, we're clearing, we're going to see the winds decreasing. we have a freeze warning in place through 10:00 sunday morning for the counties in this purple color where we started our growing season. any vegetation could be susceptible to the cold. the last of the spring snow move out, we'll see clearing skies. we're cold lfrd, temperatures at the freezing mark, 34 in wilmington, 34 allentown, 37

freezing, big crowds bundled up to kick off the philadelphia international festival of art. >> happen to have the coldest day. >> reporter: the featured attraction fittingly are three great balls of fire. part of an immigration art installation, suspended from a crane over penn's landing. on a night this cold, anything to keep warm. >> amazing. >> reporter: cheryl brought her grandson and broke out the winter gear one last time. >> when we came up it was snowing so i had the rain coats ready. >> reporter: a code blue for philadelphia and montgomery county. officials say the wind chill could be dangerous for those without shelter. snow fell across much of the region today sticking to the ground three weeks since the official end of winter. >> puts me in a mind-set of winter. by sitting on the sofa with hot chocolate. >> reporter: a mash up of winter and spring. mother nature unable to make up her mind as heavy snow fell onto

philadelphia police officer and tonight that shooting is under investigation by police internal affairs. police say the officer intervened while the suspect was robbing an elderly man at broad and chew. investigators say the officer yelled at the suspect to put down his gun t two men exchanged words and police say the man refused to drop his weapon. that's when the officer opened fire. >> at that point the suspect turned toward the officer, the officer engaged him i believe there is a discharge at that point. the suspect then fled southbound on park avenue. >> the suspect was hit in the stomach. he tried to run away but collapsed. he died a short time later at the hospital. at this point police say they believe the shooting was justified. support for fallen officers, nbc 10 and dell rand burlington county where several groups came together to release balloons in

mystery solved in the deadly terror attacks in brussels. the man in the hat seen wielding explosives with two suicide bombers has confessed. it's this man, mohamed abrini. he was arrested yesterday.

prosecutors say he talked, admitted being the man, telling investigators he threw his jacket in a garbage can and sold his hat. they can't rule out the possibility that he is lying to cover for someone else. he was one of six men arrested yesterday and police say he has ties to the deadly attacks in paris. in decision 2016, a sweep for ted cruz tonight in colorado. he wins all 13 of the delegates up for grabs today to complete a sweep of that state. it's a days long selection process that involves convention delegates. donald trump's aides expected the loss citing among other things colorado's complicated process. we'll have more on trump in a moment. but first, bernie sanders is the winner of today's democratic caucus in wyoming. he picked up 56% of the vote compared to 44% for hillary clinton. but the big prize is new york.

returning. right now 37 in philadelphia, winds out of the northwest at 22 miles per hour, 8 degrees colder compared to this time yesterday. temperatures to the north and west mainly in the 30s, to low 30s around the freezing mark. south and east looking at 34 in glassboro, 35 atlantic city and 37 in dover. also windy out, breezy in spots, northwest breeze, winds around 22, 21 in wilmington. the air temperature and the wind gives you a wind chill it feels like 26 in philadelphia. low 20s north and west and feels like mid 20s south and east. bundle up if you are going to be out. freeze warning philadelphia, to the north and also south and east, bring in plants that may be uncovered. a live look, this is mostly cloudy skies, the snow that fell earlier has moved on. we're seeing a little snow in parts of southern new jersey. this is what's left. it will move out overnight. we're going to see clearing skies, winds decreasing and that will bring us the cold night. also a cold start sunday morning

in the mid-20s so bundle up. breezy, partly sunny, clouds on the increase later in the day to the north and then monday we start out with sprinkles, showers by 7:00, back to school and work may see wet weather. but it should be out of here in time for the philly home opener at 3:05. a few sprinkles. some cloud cover but this will clear out and then we're going to see more showers on tuesday. tonight, 29 in philadelphia, 25 north and west, and then a day that's not too cold but also not near normal, cool, 49-52. 62 is normal. increasing clouds, breezy. we get bring back, 61 monday, clouds could see showers especially early in the day, tuesday more showers, 58. by wednesday, breezy, 57. look at thursday and friday, looking really nice. saturday mostly sunny, 66.
