valley as temperatures get close to the 32 degree mark. tomorrow night a better chance of a freeze. the temperature now is in the upper 50s in those areas so got a long way to go to get to freezing. we're up to 62 degrees in philadelphia after being in the 50s much of the day. but the temperature will drop pretty quickly if you're headed to the game tonight and down into the 40s even by 11:00 tonight. we are going to be having a couple chilly days but we also have the 70s back in the seven day and we'll get into that coming up in just a few minutes. police say new jersey arrested a high school teacher for allegedly asking a stumt to bring nude pictures of herself. edmund harman is a teacher. he fondled and kissed the student during a classroom meeting. police have charged him with criminal sexual contact. bail was seat at $150,000. philadelphia has new fighter

commission. the mayor made the announcement. he appointed adam field. lance carney will take the top job in the prison system. he said it was the right time for a change. >> i think the current commissioner has done a good job but some decisions made by the administration in the last eight years has cause ad serious problem in our department. 20 minutes of nonstop news continues with remembering ed sni snider. >> there will be a public memorial for the flyers chairman. >> a lot of people are coming forward with their personal stories how he impacted their lives. >> reporter: these are very personal stories but that

>> last week atlantic city workers got their last paycheck until early may. and more problems. the chris christie administration threatened to close atlantic city schools if the city doesn't give the school district the money i want owes. the state radiation commissioner said he doesn't know when it will happen but said the process has already begun. new problems to tell you about for some charter schools in philadelphia. today the state auditor said charter schools run by the school districts have insufficient staffing and resources. the auditor believe the charter school office is too small to oversee too many schools. the superintendent said there's a problem with the way charters are funded by the district. to decision 2016 now as a new nbc news "wall street journal" maris poll shows a big lead for donald trump in new york. trump has more than 50% of the projected republican voters, kasich and cruz are far behind.

philadelphia. city officials said 50,000 people will rally at the wells fargo center. democrats will nominate their presidential candidate. today the city and dnc said everything is going according to plan. >> we've done large events before, we've had the pope for a large, large scale event and we've had the rnc here back in 2000, i believe. >> the convention begins july 25th and runs through the 28th. today we spoke with pennsylvania governor tom wolf about the democratic presidential nominating process. he believes the party system of awarding delegates and super delegates is fair despite some controversy. >> so you have a balance, i think, between broad popular participation in the process through the primaries, and you still have the ability of leaders of the party to make

their interests, wisdom, their perspectives known in this process. >> while democrats award delegates proportionally based on primary and caucus results they also have super delegates. those are generally politicians like wolf himself who can choose whoever they choose. five more people have been arrested in connection with terror attacks in europe. three of them are being questioned in relation to fairs attacks. early this morning two more suspects were charged with the terrorist bombings in brussels. prosecutors say the pair rented an apartment in brussels that served as the hide out for the bomber who attacked the subway as well as an accomplice. brussels airport shut down after air traffic controllers went on strike. they are striking over a pension reform. traffic was already reduced at the airport in the wake of the march 22nd terrorist attacks. no word yet on when the airport

will re-open. many women in the u.s. still cannot expect to make as much money as men even when they perform the same job but now there's a push to change that in new jersey. lawmakers and others gathered at rutgers university in camden today to discuss paycheck fairness ljation sponsored by representative donald nor cross. one told us the problem is worse for minority women. he said on average women earn 57 cents for every dollar earned by a white nonhispanic man. president obama weighed in on the discussion. he spoke at a historic washington, d.c. home that's central to the women rights movement. the president called on congress to pass the paycheck fairness act to make sure employees who discuss salaries don't face retaliation. >> the cuke and duchess immediate with india's prime minister for lunch in new delhi. prince william and his wife kate are on the third day of their week long trip to india. they are set to visit a national park that's home to indian one

discussion. we have more about this town hall. keith? >> reporter: first of its kind event right here in philadelphia. nbc 10 hosted a digital town hall at the national constitution center this afternoon. as you mentioned this comes after our exclusive look at the heroin addiction problem in our country. many experts argue jail is not the answer, instead they advocate for more treatment and awareness. among experts the director of national drug policy. here's what he had to say about the crisis. >> because we are not powerless in this epidemic, we do know what works. our response, our ability to work together at the federal, state and local level and our response to come together as community members, public health, public safety is where our solutions lie. >> reporter: federal and local officials say the heroin problem is the biggest drug problem we have now. controlling it will take a huge

look how bright the skies are right now. after that rain just about all morning. really cleared you want out. 62 degrees. look at the within north-northwest at 16 gusting to 23 miles per hour. and so that continues to bring the drier air in. also bringing in cooler air. sunday we were loin 50. yesterday 69 degrees. today so far 62. so we're getting a little bit below average here. 69 yesterday. that was just a brief warm up. going to have to wait a while before we get warm again. upper 50s to the low 60s except for that cooler weather right at the shore. it was raining a good bit of the day there. 46 degrees in mount pocono right now. now the wind will be an issue tonight as to whether we'll get a freeze or not. you need generally clear skies

and very light winds for the temperature to really drop a lot. unless you have some really, really cold air in new york state that's coming in and that's not happening yet. but still blowing. 10, 20 miles per hour. tonight may be a marginal case where some of these areas barely get down to the freezing mark, but you can see how it's going to get colder and colder, mid-40s by 11:00. and mid-30s by 7:00 a.m. this is in philadelphia. of course be a little bit colder in some of the suburbs and that's where the freeze warning is in effect from 2:00 to 8:00 a.m. during the early morning hours tomorrow. that is likely to happen tomorrow night. if we don't get to the freezing mark tonight tomorrow night it surely going to be calm and clear and cold. is this way it started 4:00 in the morning with this band of

rain moving right through, right about on time and there goes the clearing, the sun came out in parts of the area this afternoon. still waiting to clear at the shore with lots of dry air behind that and so we got a bunch of dry days coming. so just in time for the phillies home stand here so pretty lucky with the weather. lucky yesterday, going to have a good tonight although it's a little chilly. wind will be blowing from the left field corner to the right field corner and the temperatures dropping through the 50s into the 40s. so you're going to need some kind of coat if you're headed to the game especially just sitting in that chair and if you get a little bit of that northwest wind it will make it feel colder. going through the night tonight temperatures dropping into the 40s and by morning down into the 30s. couple of places right near the 32 degree mark, reading and allentown. we're not talking about a lot of hours of freezing or below

freezing, so the amount of damage, i think, would be very minimal. if you want to play it safe bring in the plants, that you have outdoors because if you don't need it tonight you need to do it tomorrow night anyway. tomorrow afternoon we're in the 50s. so we're not anywhere near as warm as the last couple of days. clear, colder, possible freeze north and west as the temperature drops to 32 in some spots. during the day tomorrow it's a sunny day. on the cool side for this time of the year but we won't see much wind. highs in the mid-to-upper 50s. then on thursday near 60 degrees. 60 on friday. so we're still a little bit below average. we'll watch what happens over the weekend. we warm to 64 saturday. 72 sunday. 78 on monday. >> take a look at this scene.

a car slammed into a house in a cleveland neighborhood and caused all this damage. everybody in the house is okay but the driver alone in the small suv ended up in the hospital. police don't know what caused that accident. wawa and the children's hospital continued their cooperation. wawa has supported it for the past 160 years. students at friends select in center city carried a heavy load. this moaning's prek to fourth graders filled the fan with 1,200 books they collected. the books will fill the shelves of a center in south philly. >> today we learned vice president joe biden will deliver the commencement address at delaware state university next month. the vice president will speak at the university's graduation

back to our breaking news from sky force 10 in north philadelphia where that school bus was involved in a crash we told you about with the two vehicles in front it. it happened a short time ago. within the past few minutes we learned there are medics on the scene there and two children on the bus are hurt and they are being checked out by those medics. a wet start to the day but it is clearing up out there really good news for the wilmington blue rocks. live look at the stadium where they will take on carolina in a few hours. let's go philadelphia and see how it looks. it looks better. gloomy and rainy this morning. if you're out tonight you want a warm jacket. glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here with this first alert forecast. >> we're in for a big warm up i

know but first we have to get through this chilly night. >> and a few days too of cooler than average weather before those 70 degree temperatures return. it's going to be a little chilly for the phillies tonight. a night game as opposed to the day game yesterday and the temperatures will be a lot cooler than it was last night but at least there's no rain around. there's a freeze warning in effect for northern western counties from 2:00 to 8:00 a.m. includes upper bucks, upper montgomery, berks and they will be close to the freezing mark. if they don't get to freezing tonight they will get there tomorrow night. so bring some of the outdoor plants in just in case because if you don't need it tonight you'll need it tomorrow night. highs, our temperatures now in the upper 50s to the low 60s. that afternoon sunshine pushing the temperature up a little bit but, of course, it's going to be

cooling off fast since we go through the night that the skies have cleared out as the wind dies down. look at the temperature dropping to the 40s so by the end of the phillies game it will be in the 40s and then by morning that's 35 degrees in philadelphia, at least according to this computer model and it is going to get cooler. there we are by midnight. 46 degrees. the skies are clear but look at the wind diminishing. 16 to 11 to 7 and that wind will help cool things down even more for the morning. we'll see when we're going to warm up again with the seven day forecast in just a few minutes. we have new video of a man wanted for robbing a strawberry mansion supermarket. there he is. he went into the sea town store last month and tried to leave without paying. a worker confronted the suspect and he pulled out a box cutter. worker wasn't hurt but if you

recognize the guy police would like to hear from you. and this man attacking a man at a bar. the suspect hit the victim with a glass on the side of his face. he kept hitting the victim until workers broke it up and then he took off. teacher vacancy in philadelphia schools could force some students to make up work over to summer. nearly 140 teaching jobs in philadelphia remain unfilled. that means thousands of children sit in the classroom with long term substitutes. now students can sign up for summer school classes if they didn't have a regular teacher. the district promises to hire 800 teachers for fall term. from our delaware bureau a setback for a shopping center expected to be bigger than all others combined. the sussex council rejected a developers plan to turn 114 acres into a town center.

it included 850,000 square feet of retail space. the developer has 30 days to appeal. unions representing 40,000 verizon workers say they will go on strike tomorrow if the new contract isn't reached. they have been working without one since august. they mostly work on land line and internet operations. the union said they are trying to improve pension benefits and keep verizon from outsourcing jobs. in 2011 a strike lasted two weeks. country is returning to the shore. >> atlantic city beach concerts and when you can see them perform. >> plus someone else may be streaming your favorite movies and shows. we'll explain how hackers may be getting into your netflix account and stealing your information. are you sick of harrisburg politicians

jersey shore even though it's still cloudy there. we have freeze tonight in parts of the area. and if we don't get it tonight we'll get it tomorrow night. stretch of dry weather over several days and the 70s will be returning by the end of the weekend. look at that blue sky out there. looking right outside the station and we had rain this morning, but everything has moved on out. 62 degrees now the wind north-northwest. that's bringing in the cooler and drier air. remember we had 69 yesterday. 62. that's as high as we've gotten today. 59 in allentown and reading. so afternoon sun has helped warm things up a little bit. we got a long way to go for the temperature to drop down to the freezing point and we need the wind to die down. cooler at the jersey shore because been cloudy all day and still cloudy. 62 philadelphia right now.

the northwest wind, still fairly strong, 15 to 20 miles per hour in parts of the area and needs to go below 5 miles per hour for the temperature to drop to its ultimate level and you can see how quickly it drops during the night as we go down into the 30s by daybreak and so it's going to be a lot colder tomorrow morning than it was this morning. at least 20, 25 degrees colder than this morning. very warm this morning with train. got the freeze warning. you can see these counties, berks, lee high, northern chester county until 8:00 a.m. clouds moving out so the sunshine covering most of the area right now and the rain, yeah, that is long gone. and we also have a lot of dry air coming in here and that's why it's going to stay dry.

the phillies tonight, specifically the wind was blowing out yesterday afternoon. tonight it's going to be blowing more left to right. and cooler weather makes it harder for the ball to fly out. temperatures dropping pretty quickly. it will be in the 40s by the end of the game so you want to prepare accordingly. and as we go through the next couple of days yeah cold air is in for this time of the year and it's going to take a little while for things to change this friday and still kind of on the cool side. saturday warms up a little bit and then sunday here we go. warm air is returning and monday should be the warmest of all. as we go through the tonight clear skies, within diminishes. philadelphia 32 in some of the colder suburbs. we're just barely getting a freezing. don't see widespread damage tonight. sunny and cool tomorrow,

employee uses a key to go into a house and immediately does exactly what he's there to do, test a smoke detector. the testing is requirement for ocean city homes being rentsed or sold. but a home security camera then captured that man opening the refrigerator and taking a look inside. he's seen taking out a bottle and goes back into the frigid appearing to put something else in his pocket along with the bottle. sources say this man is the stepson of ocean city mayor. nbc 10 obtained the video recorded last month through an open public records request after it ended up in the hands of city officials. he is no longer employed by resort but as a result of the video police say they've now launched a review to cross reference recent theft cases with other homes where he inspected smoke detectors. >> to find out if there's
