the recruits in about ten cars lined up to go in the firing range on route 70 around this morning. one of their cars was rear-ended. that touched off a chain reaction crash involving four vehicles. a man who caused the initial collision was thrown from his car. the recruits found him on the ground unconscious. >> we began to give chest compression and i took over. >> i was there to help. my first reaction was there to help him and that was my main goal. >> several additional recruits rushed to check on people in the other cars involved. they suffered minor injuries. manchester officers and ems crews arrived. efforts to arrive the live less man, the 21 years old were not successful. >> it is something that you have to be prepared to see. i feel that i am fairly prepared to be exposed to that. >> this is as real as it is going to get for what they're going to facee%.?ñ everyday in
