it's much cooler. >> the temperatures have come down even though we have clouds that tend to keep things warmer. the temperatures have come down, thanks to the rain we had last night. a few showers linger to the south in southern delaware. with clouds in south jersey and central and northern delaware, there's a possibility we'll see scattered showers. right now, live cameras from across our area. cool with fog now, 45 degrees in the pennsylvania suburbs. right now it's 50 degrees in philadelphia. you can see 50 in delaware. we'll see these temperatures climb. it will be a mostly cloudy start to the day. breaks of sunshine possible this afternoon for the pennsylvania suburbs, philadelphia and the lehigh valley. still a lingering shower possible in parts of the area, especially to the south. that's the seven-day forecast scrolling at the bottom of the screen. this is what today looks like. check that out anytime i'm on the air. jessica boyington has your first alert traffic.

jessie. we have a few things going on this morning. the burlington bristol bridge is closed with some ongoing construction until about 5:00 this morning. yesterday they were a little bit behind schedule. they re-opened the bridge back up a little bit after 5:00. of course we'll keep you updated there. we'll tell you about an accident scene in wilmington, delaware on route ç202 northbound and the southbound left lane is closed right around folke road. not a lot of traffic headed through the area. something to watch out for on your morning commute. in philadelphia, that hit and run accident scene, broad and parrish is closed and 15th street is closed between brown and parrish. tracy? let's talk more about that, breaking news out of north philadelphia. two philadelphia police officers are hurt after a car slammed into their pickup struck. that's only part of the story. katy zachry is live along broad street. >> reporter: there are so many moving parts to this story.

it almost doesn't seem real. police here on scene in north philadelphia say it is very real. this pickup truck was driven by two plain clothesed philadelphia police officers earlier this morning. they were driving near broad street and brown when a black sedan hit them. the car did not stop. a witness was driving by, pulled over his car and got out. however, his car kept moving forward. we don't know if he didn't put it in park or what was happening. that's when two men who were walking in the area jumped in the moving car and took off with it. they drove a few blocks away where they crashed another vehicle and then the two men got out of that stolen car, ran to a nearby nightclub on brad street where they went inside and took off any identifying clothes they were wearing. we're told by some police out here investigating that one of the men was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt. when he went into that nightclub

on brad street, he took that sweatshirt off so he couldn't be identified. police are still looking for those two men. as for the injured police officers who were in the unmarked pickup twrruck, they we taking to a nearby hospital for observation. i'm being told they will be okay. i'll have another update at 4:30.ç katy zachry, nbc 10 news. >> thank you, katy. chaka fattah, this morning's philadelphia daily news head line says "chaka shocka." jury selection is begin next week in his federal corruption trial. last night fattah and his family greeted somber supporters in east falls. he talked about his record of delivering but he seemed to acknowledge the indictment was too much to overcome in this election.

>> and yes, there were forces against us tonight, a very powerful and influential people. they were on the other side. it is also clear that the majority will have its way and they've decided that someone else should take on the responsibility. >> and here's the man who unseated fattah, dwight evans walked into his election party to warm greetings from family, friends and supporters. the long-time house member won the congressional race with 44% of the vote. >> first i want to thank the democratic voters of the 2nd congressional district. i am humbled by the trust that they have provided to me. >> also in his victory remarks, evan thanked fattah for serving the district for two decades. evans takes on republican james jones in the november election. now to the presidential race.

republican donald trump won all five of yesterday's primary contests, hillary clinton won four out of five, including pennsylvania and delaware. she gave her victory speech here in philadelphia. >> with your help we're going to come back to philadelphia for the democratic national convention with the most votes and the most pledged delegates. >> clinton is less than 250 delegates away from clinching the democratic nomination. meantime, republican front-runner donald trump said after his five victories last night he considers himself the presumptive nomifed. >> as far as i'm concerned it's over. these two guys cannot win. there's no path. why would i change? if you have a football team and you're winning and then you get to the super bowl, you don't change your quarterback. i'm not changing. >> today trump will deliver a speech on foreign policy in washington before heading to indiana to campaign. both parties front-runners won the personnsylvania and delaware primaries. matt delucia joins us live with

a county by county look at how people voted. >> it was no contest for the presidential front-runners in pennsylvania and delaware. first we'll talk about the big takeaways from last night. you have quite a race there with clinton winning four out of five states. the only one that went to bernie sanders was the state of rhode island. trump as we mentioned swept all five states in decisive victories. cruz and kasich are still trying to stop trump. cruz has been focusing his efforts now on indiana. let's take a look county by county throughout our area. you have the presidential race for the democrats in pennsylvania, hillary clinton won not only the state with 56% of the vote in the keystone state but she also won all of the counties in our viewing area. as we take a look at the republican race, donald trump, he won decisive victories throughout our entire viewing area as well. we'll take a look at delaware. you have the three counties here and hillary clinton won all of those as well.

it was a much more decisive victory for clinton, 60% to sanders 39%. and as we take another look here for the republicans, you have donald trump winning 61% to kasich who came in second for the first state at 20%. so donald trump as we mentioned he's calling himself the presumptive republican nominee last night. we'll take a look at the delegate count in the next half hour. >> katie mcginty says she's ready to get to work after winning the democratic nomination for u.s. senate in pennsylvania. she beat out joe sestak who nearly won the senate office six years ago. mcginty spoke to us about her plan to win the race in november.ç >> i think it's really going to be about just reaching out to voters and hearing the challenges that people are facing. >> mcginty will place republican incumbent pat toomey in november. josh shapiro won the democratic

4:15 and 50 degrees outside. this breaking news from overnight. police have arrested a bucks county mother in the death of her 2-year-old daughter. falls township detective say kayla moore admitted to kicking her daughter in the head and body several times on monday night. police say the girl suffered blunt force injury at the home on sweet briar drive. a judge denied the mother bail and sent her to bucks county prison. check this out video. this fire at a used car lot at 51st and marion avenue burned at least four cars with the keys in the ignition. this is an arson investigation. crews got the fire under control around 10:15 last night. today, dr. william hite will join other officials at a ground breaking for a new school yard. it will cost more than $1 million to build the new school

yard at the her ratairasheratio building. it will feature new green spaces, outdoor classrooms an a play ground accessible to people with disabilities. getting a second chance at life, april is national donate life month. and one children's hospital in our area leads the nation in organ transplant surgeries. 14-year-old dede has spent her whole life being treated at children's hospital of philadelphia for kidney failure. she spent years on dialysis. but thanks to an organ donation dede has a new kidney. her organ donor was a young man from allentown. dede has been in touch with his family and plans to meet them in the future. >> i think it is very important and you should try to be an organ donor. you give kids a second chance to

live a really good life. they can be healthy again. >> while many donated organs come from people who die, half the kidney transplants at c.h.o.p. come from living donors. rutgers students are not happy with theç limited ticket policy for this year's graduation ceremony. president obama will be at the commencement and will be the speaker at the new brunswick campus. it's the first time a sitting president will speak at rutgers. students will only be allowed to bring three guests to the ceremony may 15th. >> some people can't even bring their immediate family. >> everyone is freaking out about it. i think it's incredibly reasonable. >> rutgers says the limited ticket policy is the only way that every graduating student can have a chance to bring guests. students from the camden and newark campuses are being shuttled in to see the president speak. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> clouds are still overhead.

the showers for most of the area have come to an end. philadelphia, for example, clouds have stopped producing any rain. don't expect to see any today. we should see breaks of sunshine this afternoon. your seven-day forecast scrolling at the bottom of the screen will be cooler today. some cooler weather ahead. 50 degrees right now. we'll still be at 50 degrees at 6:00 in philadelphia and just a little bit warmer with clouds lingering at the 9:00 hour. that's not the only cool spot. look at the jersey shore at 49 degrees. 45 in the pennsylvania suburbs. south jersey, that 49 degrees is still falling at this hour. washington township is 47 and in the upper 40s for cinnaminson as well. we'll see the numbers climb but only into the 60s this afternoon. lingering clouds will really hold things down today. forecast hour by hour, 7:00, there's that 50 degree reading in philadelphia. near 60 degrees. that's at 3:00 this afternoon. clouds will thin out in the pennsylvania suburbs. it will be a mostly cloudy day.

47 degrees at 7:00. by 111:00, 52. for the lehigh valley, breaks of sunshine later this afternoon. mostly cloudy, 53 at 11:00, 63 near 3:00 today. delaware, there'sç a chance you'll see a shower, the farther north you go the better chance it will stay dry. by 3:00 this afternoon, 60 degrees. and at the shore, also could see lingering showers, especially farther to the south in cape may county. wildwood. stone harbor might even see a shower at the jersey shore during the day today. there are the clouds lingering. the showers just to the south. the clouds will be thinning out this afternoon. we're watching for another round of rain as early as tomorrow. there go the showers, the chance of showers will disappear during the afternoon.

this morning. s there -- there's always construction to deal with at this time. >> route 422 around route 23. it actually looks scarier than it is because there's a lot of construction vehicles and police officers actually on the scene with all of these ramp closures and lane closures. right now, the highway is doing okay. now we just moved it back around. this is on 422. no problems getting by the scene the off ramp will be blocked and it usually it blocked until about 5:00. sometimes they go ahead or behind schedule. i'll keep you updated there. in north philadelphia, the hit and run, a few closures because of it, broad and parrish is closed and 15th is closed between brown and parrish. more updates when i'm back in ten. comcast spectacor employees will deliver hundreds of pounds of food to philabundance.
