critical. glen is here to break it down for us. glen? >> we have the ability to break down even the first alert, but certain parts of our area where the greatest threat is for different kinds of weather events. not just broad brush the whole ar area. in this case, south jersey, delaware, pa suburbs, and philadelphia are included. jersey shore is not included and you're not including central new jersey. 9:00 tonight to 7:00 tomorrow morning. take a look at this future weather. these storms are billing quickly. by 8:30 tonight, already coming into parts of the area, but not up to the lehigh valley. not so much in central jersey or at the shore, so concentrating on those areas likely to get hit the hardest overnight tonight, hour after hour after hour.

11:30 tonight, look at that area of rain coming through, and by tomorrow morning's rush, the worst of it may be over, but there's still some leftover flooding in parts of the area that we have this first alert for. there's really not much on the radar now until you go all the way down to washington, d.c. so social security going to be a little while before it comes in, but it's coming in. who gets what and when and rest of the forecast in a few minutes. >> all right, glen. headed out tonight? the umbrella and the app with you. you can track the weather wherever you are with the first alert live radar. now to new information on a deadly crash on a wet road in philadelphia's section, today, we learned a second person has died. yesterday's accident killed a 6-year-old boy and seriously injured several others. monique braxton spoke to the police today. >> way are they saying? i talked to investigators, and

they say 24 hours after that deadly accident occurred right here, they are still trying to locate the victims' relatives. two other things investigators don't know tonight, who was driving the car that caused the accident and why the driver lost control. >> a lot of injuries in this one. >> reporter: and the moe mori yal grows at the scene, investigators are puzzled by what happened here on henry avenue before 4:00 sunday. witnesses struck are in stable condition, but the 28-year-old female 29-year-old male are able to speak. >> talked to the two people in the other car? >> yeah, we spoke to them. >> they are conscious? >> yeah, they are conscious. they have injuries, but all they remember is the car spinning in front of them and making contact. >> reporter: investigators also say the roadway was wet when the couple the t-boned by the gray

mazda killing two. >> two adult females up front were ejected from the vehicle from the collision and the little 6-year-old was ejected halfway out the back window. >> reporter: despite efforts of two offduty officers who administered cpr, the 6-year-old died. he was one of four children in the backseat of the car. a seven week old baby girl was in the car seat also in the back next to her 20-year-old father, ross wilson, who also passed away. everyone surviving's in critical condition with life threatening injuries. >> as far as we know, no one was restrained except the seven week old in the car seat, and it's never applausele to be in any vehicle anywhere unrestrained. >> reporter: and witnesses tell police they don't believe the driver was speeding. they say there's no indication drugs or alcohol are involved.

monique braxton, nbc 10 news. more than a dozen school children recover tonight after the school bus they were on was hit by a car. it happened 2:30 on schillington road in spring township. a car ran into the back of the bus. 17 kids suffered bumps and bruises. new at 6:00, local high school teacher under arrest charged with having sex with a student. she was charged with 12 counts of institutional sexual assault. she started having inappropriate sexual relationship with an upper dublin high school student back in december. she's not allowed to have contact with the victim or other students. the school district said the english teacher has been suspended. starting next year, all schools in new jersey must be testing for lead. chris christie announced tougher regulations and grants to help test the water.

governor is lowering the threshold for state health for children who show lead present in the blood and there's a public awareness campaign on how to prevent lead poisoning. we spent weeks looking into contamination in the area, and to learn how to protect your family, tap the nbc 10 app app. less than a week after losing the re-election bid, the congressman heads to trial in center city today. we were there as he walked into court this morning for the start of jury selection. it's the first step in the fight against federal kripcorruption chargers. we are walking through what happened in court today. >> reporter: well, it could be weeks before that dr or days bee the jury is seated. most of what happened happened behind closed doors 200 potential jurors, filling out questionnaires, the co-defendants in the other courtroom most of the day.

mayor of philadelphia. karen headed a nonprofit founded by the congressman and alleged she misspent educational grant money. leaving the courthouse today, he didn't say much. >> have a good day. >> reporter: 255 potential jurors brought in today, about 129 sent home. the rest will report back here tomorrow. live outside the federal courthouse, nbc 10 news. >> deanna, a questionnaire for jurors, and tomorrow is different for them, the jurors who come back, right? >> yes. tomorrow, they were told they have speaking cards, asked questions by the lawyers on both sides and potentially the judge. many of them could be heard making arrangements calling into work saying they have been picked for jury duty for another day, and the judge them, although you pick to stay another day, it doesn't mean you will be part of the jury. >> all right, thank you. a missing 4-year-old boyly

drowned in an atlantic swimming pool over the weekend according to the police. officers had been searching for the child at the london court condos when they found his body in the pool saturday night. police have not identified the boy. right now, there's no word on whether any charges will be filed. we are learning more tonight about two u.s. missionaries found murdered in jamaica with ties to our area. their bodies found sunday in a rural area of jamaica. they were both working for an organization based in lehigh county. randy from iowa and harold from new york state, both in jamaica on a trip when the group says they were ambushed and killed. the state department confirms their deaths, but has not released any details. we spoke with friends dealing with the loss of the they hope authorities find those responsible. >> we're talking about a very isolated, very rural area, and so it's quite shocking to hear

such a brutal crime. obviously, we have heard of crime throughout the years and known people had bad things happen, but not to this degree. >> the group was planning a trip to jamaica with volunteers thursday, and that's now been put on hold and expect to resume trips there in august. jerry's lawyers tried again to get the child molestation convictions thrown out. sandusky's lawyers want to question witnesses about whether the former football coach was unfairly convicted. well, today, the judge voiced doubt that questioning is legally allowed. the 72-year-olds is serving 30-60 years in state prison. the nearly broke resort avoided a dubious distinction today, historic default on its debt, but the future is a question mark. they announced the city made a key $1.8 million bond payment this morning keeping ac from becoming the first new jersey municipality to default on debt

with glen "hurricane" schwartz. >> we had a lot of hours of rain late last week, and yesterday, but it did not amount to a lot. tonight, we're going to get a lot in a short period of time, and that's why we have a weather issue here. that is a lot of heavy rain. we're getting thunderstorms building up ahead of the main system, and that will be moving in during the evening hours. it's going to take a little while for this to happen, but it will later on tonight. now, we have a first alert out, this for south jersey, not the jersey shore, delaware, pennsylvania suburbs, chester, montgome montgomery, bucks county, delaware, and philadelphia county. details from 9:00 tonight until 7:00 tomorrow morning. why is that? not much going on until 9:00, and then we get some of the thunderstorms from washington coming up here, and you can see it is just a span of heavy rain,

then it turns into a giant blob of heavy rain and thunderstorms around 11:00 to midnight. now, the worst of it is going by the morning rush, but it's still raining in parts of the area. some of it on the heavier side, and so there's going to be flood issues at least in parts of the area by them. the heavy rain overnight, take a look at some of the totals coming out of our computer models. these models agree there's pretty heavy rain and right along the i-95 corridor, especially just to the north and south, look at the specific amounts. newark over 3 inches. newcastle in delaware, 3 inches. greenville 2.6. less rain towards the shore. less rain towards the lehigh valley. less than an inch in doylestown.

that's why the first alert is only for a portion of the area. the temperaturings have been very wild in the area from the 50s to the 60s. 67 now in glascoe, and, of course, the warmer the weather is the more it fuels some of the storms. as we go through the day tomorrow, we're going to get rain mostly in the morning hours. temperatures are held down. there's the first alert. pa suburbs. phoenixville at 60, newtown at 60 degrees, and philadelphia, you have the first alert for a fairmont at 60, and in new jersey, trenton is not in the first alert. that'll be updated at 11:00. haddonfield is during the night tonight and into tomorrow morning. atlantic city, as you can see, not in that either. the ten-day outlooks a wet pattern through friday, getting
