like it's sunny, but they are automated and don't detect clouds over 12,000 feet. they are high clouds. the clouds get thicker as you go to the south, and the temperatures are lower. 61 in south jersey and 68 in lehigh valley. you can see that in the state of delaware, too. it's 67 in marshalltown, 65 in glasco, but south, 65 degrees in middletown, 59 in georgetown where it's been raining for several hours. 60 degrees in dewy beach. chilly in delaware. that's a sign of things to come for the rest of the area. you can see why on the live radar. there's patchy light rain to the south. that moving across mostly delaware and south jersey now, but it's going to spread across the rest of the area tomorrow. the timing on that and the lower temperatures for the forecast in a few minutes. this just in to the

newsroom. nbc 10 learned a deadly fire claimed another young life. an 11-year-old girl died today following saturday morning's fire killing two adults and one other child. nbc 10 monique braxton is live where firefighters are working to prevent other families suffering the same tragedy. monique? >> reporter: that's right. you know, we were here in the neighborhood with the american red cross and norristown firefighters as they passed out smoke alarms when we learned a second child from the already deadly fire passed away. she was rushed to the hospital saturday morning and died hours ago. this precious momentum of two young fire victims was share by the little girl's aunt seen here speaking with the firefighter. this 11-year-old die today. her 6-year-old sister passed away saturday. >> yelling for help. calmed 911. the building was on fire. two daughters were in there. >> reporter: neighbors recall

this neighborhood, but we just want to make sure we have the name confirmed before we pass it along. in norristown, monique braxton, nbc 10 news. the street commissioner faces assault charges this afternoon. the da says carlton punched a man several times, this was at a party last december. the man had fractured ribs and a bruised eye. city says carlton is on leave until further notice. now to new information on a serial rapist targeting teenage girls in philadelphia's germantown section. a judge today sentenced brown to 40 to 196 years in prison. he raped four girls in separate incidents near his home back in 2013. the victims between 12 and 17 years old. >> to decision 2016, the voters go to the polls in less than a month. hopeful sanders rallied in

hurt. scary incident for a window washing crew in center city when the cables supporting the platform snapped outside a high-rise near 19th and market the the crew was not hurt but fixed the cables that cracked some windows of the building. philadelphia police say a 911 confession led them to a arrest a man for allegedly killing his girlfriend. investigators say the 24-year-old suspect admitted on the call he strangled his girlfriend. police found the body early this morning in a home in kensington. her four children were sleeping at the time. they tracked the cell phone where they arrested him. >> new information from allentown. a man there will not face death penalty if convicted of murdering his girlfriend and stuffing her body in a recycling bin. prosecutors announced that decision today at his arraignment. officers found the body in a recycling bin back in february. she had been shot to death.

he's also accused of shooting at police as they investigated the murder. nbc 10 is staying on top of this student death investigation at a wilmington high school. we checked with the delaware attorney general's office, and charges to be set, but not said when. the 16-year-old died april 21st after she was severely beaten in a bathroom at howard high school of technology. three students were suspended. just in to n b 10, the department of justice is filing its own lawsuit challenges north carolina's so-called bathroom law. the move comes hours after the governor sueded the feds to try to preserve the law, which took effect in march. it requires transgender people to use the bathroom of the gender on their birth certificate. the doj's suit asking a federal judge to block enforcement of that law. look at these flood waters brought on by strong storms in

oklahoma. people had to leave their cars and walk to higher ground outside a mall yesterday. no one was hurt. after the water receded, though, there were plenty of damaged cars, as you could imagine, to be towed away. there is promising news this afternoon from the scene of the massive wildfire in canada. crews say they are turning a corner in the fight against the flames. cooler temperatures and light rain are helping. the fire has devoured more than 600 miles of forest, and 80,000 people forced to leave homes. there's no timeline for when they may be able to return. look at these satellite images of the fire from nasa. this one was taken high above the earth at night last week. you see those hottest burning spots. then during the day, you can see all that smoke. the fire has destroyed about 1600 homes and other buildings. convicted mexican drug lord is one step closer to coming to the u.s. a federal judge ruled that the

returning. it's not going to be a long lasting thing like it was last week, okay. we've had this southwest winds today. warm winds. this is all going to change. it's going to start coming in off the ocean tomorrow. that, in itself, cools things down. then we have a front sitting here with the east wind, and you're going to get an area of rain developing, but that prompt's going to go through, high pressure builds back, and so this is just a temporary thing. you can see that in the seven-day forecast for your area scrolling down on the screen constantly that it's just a one-day thing. there's the patchy little light rain all the way to the shore. some of it not reaching the ground, but the general area across delaware and south jersey as you can see. there's more back to the west. some of that headed straight to the east, and that means it's in the forecast for most of the area. the futurecast, going into tomorrow morning, of course, most of the rain is in delaware

and south jersey, at least according to this computer model. other models are wetter for philadelphia area and points to the north. i do think we're going to see a few hours, at least, of at least some rain, not anything as heavy as what we saw back on friday, but it's going to have an effect on the temperature. there's philadelphia tomorrow. 58, but when the sun comes out, wednesday and thursday, temperatures are back into the 70s. now, this is going to be a similar story in the suburbs, 58 degrees with the rain, and them the sun starts coming out. we're not talking about wall to wall sunshine, but it just takes a little bit, and you get away from the east wind, and things can happen. lehigh valley sees some rain tomorrow, but less rain than the other portions of the area. the jersey shore and delaware should have the greatest amounts of rain and greatest number of hours with rain tomorrow, and then the temperature jumps up only to 61 at the shore wednesday because we still have

controversy in california. a high school there is under fire after falsely identifying a muslim student as isis in the yearbook. she was wearing a head covering worn by muslim women. the photo is labeled isis phillips, but that's not her name. the student named isis phillips transferred to a different school, and the school has since apologized. a viral video of a baby trying to stay afloat in a pool is stirring up mixed reactions. >> we'll show you the video, the mother fighting against critics. take a look. right there, seven month old girl enticed by a toy, flops in the water, but look, she flips over and floats on her own. technique is called infant swimming resource. it teaches children how to rescue themselves. the girl's mother is getting a lot of criticism, but she says she's taking this step after she lost a son in a drowning

mostly in delaware and south jersey, and as we go through the rest of the day, cloudy skies, patches of rain and wind coming in out of the east, and here's later tomorrow night, and you can see heavier rain in delaware and south jersey. wednesday, there's more rain in delaware and south jersey, and then conditions improve. you'll see that in the seven-day forecast scrolling on the bottom of your screen as well. wednesday, at least a little bit of warmth. it's warmer than last week. okay. we got one day that's going to be cool. that's tomorrow. 58 degrees. we jump right back on wednesday. things will be improving later on during the week. over the next few days, you can see the big jump from tomorrow's 58, wednesday's 73, and we're going to a similar type of jump in the pa suburbs, and that's a sixty degree jump.

the medical examiner said she had a preexisting heart condition that cricketed to her death, but she wouldn't have died had she not been attacked. the attorney general's office just sent out a release. we're not going to name the girls who have been charged in this because they are juveniles, only one of the girls we are told is charged with negligent homicide. they'll get her charged and tried as an adult, and only that girl hit amy repeatedly with closed fists saying the two other girls in the bathroom at the time helped plan the confrontation, but they did not actually strike amy. again, this has been a kmp kated case from the beginning. the attorney general's office met with the family earlier this afternoon, and they explained what the charges are going to be, and, again, getting the paperwork now, and we're processing this, getting the latest as details are available, but, again, to be clear, the attorney general's office said one of the three girls involved with amy's death, one charged as an adult for her role. they say she was the one who
