three students are charged. tim furlong is live in wilmington. >> what messages is the family trying to get out? >> reporter: ever since she died, after that fate at howard technical high school last month, social media has taken a real big role in the story and not necessarily in a good way. take a look. here today at the church a few blocks from howard high school, community leaders gathered to talk with kids about social media and keep tabs on what they're doing and how they're communicating. a lot of the talk involving amy before and after that fight had been rumors and certainly after the feet there were videos and then fake videos and other places. social media hasn't helped calm the situation. and the leaders here today say it's time to use social media to heal and not provoke any retaliation. >> amy was about peace. she was about love. she was about unity. and to call for retaliation in

rally is just the campaign making one stop and then moving on. bill clinton and chelsea clinton will also be in new jersey this week. bernie sanders has already been here. 142 delegates up for stake in new jersey. and this is a state voting the same day as california, but at least this week not getting overshadowed. in camden county, hillary clinton rallied a crowd that included students, union members and a lot of new jersey residents voting next month. >> if we do what we need to do in the next few weeks, we will have a big victory on june 7 that will take us all the way to the white house. >> reporter: her aim was on donald trump today saying the choice is clear. >> but i believe with all my heart that we are better than the campaign that the presumptive nominee for the republican party is running.

area of low pressure spinning right around baltimore. so this is what is really giving us the rain through much of south jersey and delaware. some of this is locally heavy. but most of this is still continuing just to move in and move through these sections of the area like delaware up into south jersey. so this is something that we will be watching as we go through this evening. so where you see the yellow in south jersey and delaware, that shows you the heavier rainfall, the green lighter rain. but it's fatherly consistent. cape may county moving in to atlantic county, that lighter rain, may's landing has heavier spots approaching. also near vineland lighter rain. it could edge into the philadelphia area. so maybe a few showers later on this evening, but overall quite a difference in the temperatures because of rain. take a look at vineland, 67. 67 in allentown because it's been much cryer there. 68 degrees right now in trenton. coming up, we'll take a closer look at your neighborhood

forecast, the rain for this evening and also thunderstorms before the week is over. that's straight ahead. in the meantime he's been called a miracle. a dog survived being shot in the head and left to die in cumberland county. the young pit bull was found may 2 lying on a road in rural commercial township. but only yesterday x-rays revealed bullets still lodged in his body. tlc animal rescue learned of the injuries after bringing the dog to the local clinic. >> i was devastated. i could not believe somebody would do this. he's so sweet. just wants love. >> the bullet in the dog's leg shattered bones, so a local vet hopes an orthopedist can find a way to avoid am pew at a timing that leg. right now at 5:00, bear trouble in the lehigh valley. officers began drill liz this 150 pounder over the weekend.

the bear is back in the wild now, but the people of bethlehem won't be surprised if they see another one sometime soon. the city has seen several bears wandering the streets in the past year. randy gyllenhaal talked to the guy who captured the most recent visitor. >> there was a bear sighting -- >> reporter: neighbors spotted the young black bear wandering the backyards. digging through the trash, headed toward an elementary school. >> a bunch of people saw it, but when they said a bear, i shut my door. >> reporter: the 150-pound cub got spooked and ran up a tree. wildlife conservation officer arrived with a tranquilizer gun and released the cub far from any neighborhood. >> we have bears coming in from new jersey with their mother and the other is starting to boot them loose. >> reporter: it's springtime wildlife is blooming and more and more black bear sightings

are common in bethlehem over the past year or so, three have been captured, including this 300-pound beast that crashed a party at lehigh university. >> i equate them a lot of times to teenagers. they don't have a whole lot of life experience and they get into some trouble. >> reporter: the explosion in development across the valley is butting residential homes against wildlife habitat. >> remove the food sources as much as possible. >> reporter: keep your garbage in check and if you see a bear, just call the game commission, the bears are probably more scared of you. >> they start cutting their habitats town, where are they supposed to go. >> reporter: in bethlehem, randy gyllenhaal, nbc 10. p. philadelphia city council holding a hearing on the proposed soda tax. mayor kenney oig's administration wants to add a three cents per ounce tax on sugary tripgs. it could generate $400 million to fund universal pre-k and make

several counties in middle tennessee are dealing with floodwaters as severe storms continue to move through the region. rescue crews were called out to help people trapped by high water. so far there have been no reported injuries. it's been another rough 24 hours across america's heart land. >> severe weather including tornados ravaging communities in the south and midwest. more storms could be on the way. jay gray has the latest. >> look at that house, it's gone. >> reporter: this twister in southwest kentucky swallowed everything in its path spitting out the debris for miles. >> i couldn't believe it. words complaian't describe it. >> the damage is extensive. we're so lucky that we didn't lose any lives. >> reporter: ten people were injured as the storms swept through mayfield, homes and businesses erased by the violent

wins, damage left behind overwhelming for survivors. >> when i walked up on this place, i started crying. it's pretty heartbreaking. >> reporter: these images a graphic reminder for 25 million or more across seven states now in the potential strike zone. forecasters warn more severe weather could batter the midwest through the mississippi valley. before the system pushes to the east, where some areas are already under water, with the chance of even more rain damaging hail and tornadoes over the next few days. jay gray, nbc 10 news. well, we are still dealing with the cloud cover today and some areas actually seeing rain. here is a live look at center city. rain to the south of philadelphia and farther to the north especially the lehigh valley. we're looking at milder

temperatures because we have quite a dividing line with this rain and the rain is affecting the area temperature. so here is a look at the radar. the heaviest down around parts of suffolk county and also into parts of cape may county, but if we zoom in, you notice a lot of the heavier stuff is offshore. we do haven a area of low pressure spinning around baltimore. you can see the circulation. the low will move across the area, but a lot of models are weakening it as it does so. so most of the rain may just be confined to south jersey and delaware through this evening. so for much of delaware, we're mostly seeing the light rain just to the south of philadelphia and even just to the south of will mipg to be although some part as of wilmington could start to see light rain moving up soon. now in parts of south jersey, laurel lake, these areas in yellow, that's where we're seeing some of the heaviest rain. cape may seeing some of the heavier rain, too. and this is all going to slowly try to slide to atlantic county.

so right across the expressway starting to see light rain moving in. ocean city maybe some light rain approaching now. so areas along the shore you can expect rain as we go into this evening. not so much though as we go into tomorrow. but big difference with our temperatures. take a look at the lehigh valley. mid to upper 60s. then south jersey and delaware where the rain is falling, temperatures are in the 50s in these areas. so your neighborhood look at the temperatures through the lehigh valley, 64 in reading, 63 cliff up to, 65 allentown. look at whitehall township, 69 degrees right now. we do have a 70 on the map here too. p that is in easton. so we will be watching of course the rain to our south at the same time the milder temperatures up to our north. so here's what we expect for tonight. this model in particular really trying to weaken a lot of this rain as we go through the next several hours here. now we're looking at tomorrow, your thursday, it will be much

drier day if you're in south jersey in delaware, but you will still be dealing with the clouds. mostly cloudy for the rest of the area. still more sunshine as we go throughor thursday. friday, thunderstorms in the draft. here is a look friday, 8:00 in the morning, showers already starting to move in. it will be a warm day. but then take a look at the afternoon. 1:30 in the afternoon, some showers and even some pop-up thunderstorms expected. that will go through the evening commute. 5:00 p.m. now, take a look at the shore and along the delaware beaches, we could be dealing with heavy rain and still the possibility of thunderstorms. we get a break friday night and early saturday. but then another area of rain starts to approach for later in the day saturday. so part of your weekend we will have rain in the forecast. for tomorrow, though, we're look the a mostly cloudy skies. bethlehem 77, easton 76, a little bit more in the way of sthip. wednesday chester 76 as well as phoenixville. mostly cloudy through the philadelphia area. 75 mt. airy. if you're in new jersey,

an gel. >> reporter: what you notice is the obvious, he's confined to a wheelchair. but if you only focus on the cheel wheelchair p and the challenges, you will miss how warm asweet and loving this 13-year-old boy is. we spent part of the afternoon together. a he receives wonderful care at his home. angel is blind, so his sense of hearing and touch are incredibly acute. >> he has significant developmental delay, but he's just like anybody else, it takes a little while to warm up, but once he does, his smile melts your heart and you can see what a smile does to everybody else in the room. and that's how he communicates with people. >> reporter: and what angel communicates is crystal clear. pure joy. just look at that smile.

you can't fake steak. new information on a road rage shooting that brought traffic to a standstill on the blue route. police say is this the man who opened fire during a dispute on 476 last week. knmonique braxton is live. how did police track him down? >> reporter: the suspect anthony richardson declined comment here outside state police bear rakab but police told us he was arrested without incident this morning at his home in overbrook. >> that's not the type of guy that i know. >> reporter: those who know anthony richard so that say he's not the type of guy that would be rofed in the road rage

sdipts, but police say he matches the composite sketch and his lincoln town car matches the victim's description. and inside richardson's home, a licensed happened gndgun was re. >> suspect fired one shot into the passenger door much vehicof victim's vehicle p. information was learn that had the suspect fled towards exit 16. >> reporter: the male victim told investigators that he was run off the road, then the driver fired a shot into his car. it happened last week on the usually busy blue route just before the afternoon rush hour. the shooter kept driving. >> the bullet penetrated the lower corner of the front passenger door. >> reporter: state police also say they're looking into another report of road rage involving richards richardson. >> he does have prior road rage habits. and he displayed a firearm at that time.

we update that every day. so you will never miss it. here is a look at the radar. we have most of the rain just south of philadelphia. lehigh valley, pretty mild temperatures. even trenton. but the areas that we are watching that are cooler and rainy, south juniersey and delaware. now just lighter rainfall through the beaches in delaware. this is up through parts of new castle county. that is the lighter rain. but the yellow shaded areas in parts of cape may moving in to atlantic county, that is more moderate rain. but cape may looking at light rain. also cumberland county. the yellow areas is more moderate rainfall sliding up through atlantic county right across the expressway. so for tonight we still have the rain in the forecast. but only for the southern half of the area where temperatures are in the fifth. take 50s. lehigh valley, 67. new jersey seeing different

he arched for students to work on the car. the man who went on a deadly stabbing spree they say was mentally disturbed. he had been released from the hospital hours just the stabbings. his father and sister say he had battled depression for years and claims the devil was trying to make him do things. police are trying to find out if he had any connection to the victims. prince's final days are coming into focus after a search warrant revealed the music icon had been seeing a doctor before his death. a family care physician treated prince twice in april including the day before he died at his minnesota estate. the doctor prescribed the medications, although the search warrant doesn't say what drugs or whether prince actually took them. investigators are waiting on the

important task. >> reporter: first a run for president, then a trump endorsement. today chris christie is answering with the latest hat that he will wear as the transition team chairman and how he plans to balance that as governor p. >> in the beginning there will be decent time for me to put a good team together. but as some of you may know about presidential transitions, the chairman's running the show and i will do that and i will make the major decisions that need to be made. in the end, a lot of the work will be done by men and women who will volunteer their time. >> reporter: residents fear new jersey's issues will fall to the wayside. >> it's either all in for engineer city or all in for trump. >> i think he can finish out his term, but i don't know that he's the right person for the transition team. >> reporter: some say new calls for christie to resign are premature considering trump doesn't officially have the job. >> i can't say i have an opinion on it. he'd have to start the interview process obviously soon.

the rain is in south jersey and delaware right now and it is slowly continuing to move to the north. the heaviest though is already offshore. so if we zoom in here, you can see some of the lighter rain shown by the green, some of the heavier rain by the yellow. and that's what we will be watching this evening. so it's mostly in south jersey and delaware. we'll be watching this area of rain over the next several hours. south of philadelphia mainly, temperatures are cooler because of it. and also don't for get your seven day forecast always sch l scrolling at the bottom of the screen. you see the yellow earlier today, a lot of that has already moved offshore. but we will watch all this move up through the area as we go through the rest of tonight. the group showing yeen showing comple lighter rain, and the yellow the heavier rain. we'll watch all this. it is keeping temperatures down.

temperatures are a lot cooler because of this rain. if you're farther to the north like trenton or the lehigh valley, you're looking at milder temperatures because you're not zoo s seeing this type of rain. this is mostly south of philadelphia. so we'll keep it in the forecast. and then we go into tomorrow, we'll see a lot more in the way of sunshine aside from the rain that we have around right now. tomorrow temperatures a little warmer, but this area of rain for cape hey county, even cumberland county across 55 here, that is heavier rain. so we will be watching all of this kind of moving up to the north. so as we go through the rest of the evening, the rain mostly stays south of philadelphia. tomorrow though it will be a a drier day, but then we go into friday and that's when we'll see thunderstorms start to move. and mostly later in the afternoon friday. so we will watch that closely, too. and if you look at your seven day, first half of the weekend
